If there was one huge problem then the solution might be very painfull but at least possible. I feel now like many desperate times our problems are not one but many, which will require not one but many answers. Wenger in/ Wenger out it seems can only be solved by the decision of one man however based on recent performances one of the other questions is out on the pitch. I started watching The Arsenal to see a team purring like a Rolls Royce built on an uncompromising defence who could also play a bit when called on: with "stars" in most positions. Now I am falling out of love. I do not see the fluency anymore (not even in wins) . Too many averagely "good" buys are hurting us now not enough carry the X-Factor that we need and demand. Without naming names many of the newbies just do not seem up to it and this seems to be affecting the performances of the "old guard".
It was said that tonights scoreline could be a decision maker for some (relating to Wenger) but it could also be a decision maker for a number of players on the pitch (or even the bench) .

Wenger can't get the players to play anymore for him, he's lost them and the plot.

11 Apr 2017 00:47:17
I'm not sure if he's lost the plot but more not in touch with the modern game. Each changed and sadly he hasn't changed with it. But people who think this'll all be sorted with a new manager are wrong. It's a start but we are in big big trouble.

We can all continue to blame the board Arsene or both or even each other but surely the time has come to stop looking for blame now and find solutions instead.
We simply can't carry on like this much longer for the good of Arsenal football club.

I think that is four away defeats on the trot and I think we have let in 3 goals in each game. What a right shambles.

Will never understand how player ratings are done, if a defender has a great game but gets sent off towards the end he will get a 4 or 5 rating. yet if an attacking player has a great game and dives to win a penalty i.e. Townsend, he gets a rating of 8, and they say diving is a disgrace and cheating, yet rewards players with high ratings for doing so.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

10 Apr 2017 22:52:05
The penalty, was a penalty.

Based on tonights performance Sanchez should have a had a 1 or 2.

Without seeing the same ratings as yourself i imagine he had a 5 or 6.

Paper ratings are nonsense.

What a ridiculous football club we have become.
The big plan, buy a big ground, compete with the best, win trophies.
They will make a carry on film about us, probably show it half way through the Leicester film, whilst everyone is getting ice cream.

The move to a new stadium has certainly back fired in terms of improvements on the pitch . we are moving backwards at an alarming rate.

Everything was and is in place but the guy at the top is slowly undoing all his hood work because he doesn't know when he's finished and is clinging on to his arsenal. The problem is it isn't his arsenal he is an employee and he's not doing the job now.

Agree0 Disagree1

10 Apr 2017 23:32:53
why can't wenger come out and announce he is leaving? Why is he clinging onto this job? He is offerring nothing anymore. When it gets to the point where fans wait for the team bus just to insult you, you know you have tested the limits of their patience. As much as i don't approve of such behaviour, i can understand the frustration of this fans. When you regularly serve pain to people sonner or later they will snap.

Ozil gone, Sanchez gone, the Ox gone.

Its only fitting Wenger goes too, I've always uppoerted Wenger.

But as i said in my post belong, he's been without pressure for too long.

It also says something that Mn Utd and Chelsea can finish out of top 4 and Europa and not lose any players.

We do the same and there will be an exodus, the clubs image is ruined.

We are close steve. He won't be here next season, no way.

Sano the players can say all they want about supporting wenger or whatever, the truth is they are not playing for him and haven't been for a while. People in and out the club must see that and so must wenger. Or is he kidding himself. This club needs saving and fast becausewe are going down fast and the longer it goes the harder it will be to recover.

We are a club split right down the middle fans players and no doubt the board and shareholders too.
I have never been in favour of Henry to be our next manager but i think now he's possibly the only one or at least one of an extremely exclusive few who could unite our club again.
It doesn't matter if he can make us competitive again of course we all would want him to but right now the biggest thing we need is for someone who can get us all back on the same side again asap.

You don't have to tell me steve. I'm just saying he will still be manager in the morning and for rest of season. Get allegri in Summer we ain't as bad as Chelsea's effort last year and there st top of the pile. I don't want europa league at all.

The big difference between us an chelski is they fell from the summit and it was always going to be a straight forward resumption once maureen had gone. We have got a lot of players jumping ship and we are not in the place chelski were in.

wenger is not the type to walk away. if he was that type, he would have walked away a long time ago. most coaches resign after 2-3 seasons maximum if they don't do well. I remember rijkaard resigning as barcelona coach a season after he won the champions league. Guardiola walked away too. At times it has to do with personal pride and humility and wenger seems to be lacking both. He has to be hounded out. I think the only reason why wenger hasn't already signed a contract is because there is a power struggle between him and gazidis.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Apr 2017 00:06:11
Wenger never walked away he just set new goals and achievements that some people latched onto as being acceptable when it wasn't. Now he is not even achieving his under achievements.

Steve, come with the raver on Saturday, I'll even pick you up in the infamous Subaru. You will get smashed while watching fantasy football in dele alli and co. you don't need this stress in your later life Steve.

And Spurs will make you feel 21 again. A few years ago kojack had more hair than me. now I've got longer hair than Andy Carroll thanks to spurs.

Ha ha raver I might take you up on that. The only bonus is the more we get embarrassed the better chance we have of getting a new leader. Its just too cringe worthy at the minute. But I do believe in no pain no gain. lol.

Theres been a lot of take over the last few days/ weeks of whos to blame, Wenger or the Board?

My take would be mainly the board, the reasoning for this is:

- Other successful managers have board pressure, Arsene has no pressure.

- If there's no pressure, inevitably anyone would continue with thier dream and through failiure just tweak and go again.

I think all our issue stem from these 2 points. No doubt wenger by now i think needs to leave.

But i also think that if he were to be put under pressure from board (i. e. results or your sacked, eg abramovich or the Man c owner, or man utd owner. ) Wenger would be forced to change his tactics and buy suitable personel.

After invincibles this changed, and since we have been in decline as Wenger has been allowed to go down the rabbit hole of his own dream, and now unfortunately i think its too late to come back to Kansas.

I should simplify:

The board is the overall problem due to them not having a backbone.

Now it seems Wenger is the problem (and he is) due to him following his own dream. he's always been encouraged and never been told only top 4 is no good.

I believe in his mind, he has the perfect formula and he only needs to tweak it to get it to perfection.

Any man and his fog can see that nonsense, but the board refuse to pressure.

I believe this is also the reasoning for Usmanovs comments.

What do you guys think? Are you either side of the fence? Or balanced on top?

10 Apr 2017 22:16:53
I sadly agree, everone talks of the players and Wenger. The board are just standoffish.

The club needs pressure from top to bottom, its all well and good running as a business and being profitable.

The issue is as long as we're profitable under the current structure, the further we will decline. : (

And sadly, do any of us really want to boycott shirt sales, stadium tickets etc. Maybe, but the general, non-long term, non-diehard fans won't as Wengers all they know.
