if we bought Diego Costa, he might scare Sanchez into signing a new deal, just a thought.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

10 Aug 2017 21:08:08
I think he would scare a lot of people and be way to hot for most at Arsenal to handle including Arsene.
Imagine if the team had one of Thier not so enthusiastic games with Costa in the side? He'd make Sanchez look easy going on the rest of the team :-)

Costa is 40 years old.

Too old for us 😊.

you're right there gunner62, got to love a maniac though with revenge in mind lol, dagenham gunner that's brilliant ha ha, he looks past it only 28 some head on him.

Him and Jens Lehman as one of the coaches is a fight waiting to happen.

11 Aug 2017 07:54:09
And Lehmann would win right 😂.

I think having Costa at the emirates would be a major coup, i mean have you tried the coffee, its terrible.

Coutinho will miss start of season because he has an injury.
Yeah right, more like because Liverpool won't sell him to Barca, he pretends he's injured.

Disgusting. You never see Arsenal players doing that.

Oh wait,

I still can't believe some think Sanchez isn't on his toes, the bionic man has a cold then an abdominal strain. My Arsenal.

He'll be gone before the Liverpool game.

Agree0 Disagree3

10 Aug 2017 18:13:13
In his mind, i think he's gone before the Leicester game.

Agree2 Disagree0

10 Aug 2017 18:15:46
Sanchez isn't pretending to be injured in my opinion, he is simply going along with the clubs official line.
I think both the club and player have agreed to this story to prevent our dirty washing being done in public.
Arsene says Sanchez will respect his contract but that's just not true he's off and the club just want to look in control of the situation and probably have a replacement signed or as good as before an announcement on Sanchez departure is made.

11 Aug 2017 06:52:17
Gunner62. My opinion is that a move is underway, with Arsenal signing a replacement.

11 Aug 2017 07:20:51
It would make sense RG mate, I think it's all about publicity management, Sanchez is done with us and the OX is probably the same.

I'm still concerned with the lack of outgoings as well incomings. Then again if we're asking for 16m for Gibbs no wonder we can't get rid of our fringe players.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

10 Aug 2017 15:58:41
We shouldn't have problem with Mertesacker as he doesn't have a fringe but it does explain why Bentner took some shifting.

10 Aug 2017 16:02:25
Well someone's trying to outdo dags in the crap jokes department 😝.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Aug 2017 16:06:13
It's not only the asking price, but the wages, I believe Gibbs was on £60,000 a week and wants an increase if he moves!

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Aug 2017 16:51:12
Patience is key, all of these fringe players will want game time and rather than do nothing they will as the dead line draws closer find the right moves and suck up the wage drop.

It happens at all clubs, Jenkinson, Debuchy, Gibbs, Perez etc will go I'm certain, maybe even Giroud.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Aug 2017 17:00:32
Ooohh, I dunno.
I would have been proud of that one 😊.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Aug 2017 17:18:47
Maybe if we had a Sporting Director, he could concentrate on the outgoings and let Wenger concentrate on new signings.

Is it true Toby Alderweireld has a 25mil release clause?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - No idea.}

10 Aug 2017 16:07:57
A friend of mine know Toby and he is extremely unhappy as the Toot haven't sorted out a deal or even discussed it with him and he is on a reported £50,000 a week. Daniel Levy's 'clever' negotiations are backfiring as many players are unhappy with their wages at the club.

Think it's strange that arsenal aren't competing with west Ham for carvalho (if reports are true) seeing as we've been linked with him for so many years.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

10 Aug 2017 15:29:08
True, I'd forgotten about him how is he getting on performance wise? To be fair, we have signed Elneny and Xhaka since then - not to forget the emergence of Coq.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Aug 2017 16:08:28
Simply not good enough for a top club, looks ponderous.

10 Aug 2017 12:27:57
William Carvalho - £40m release clause and wants to come to the Premier League! let's get him to Arsenal then, it's a position we really need to fill! Wenger has shown interest in him before too. Even better!

Oh wait. West Ham want him according to Sly Sources. You're telling me a deal for him would be hard to negotiate? He would bite his hand off to come to Arsenal! Shame he will go to them instead.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

10 Aug 2017 13:08:50
Surely the fact only west ham are going for him says a lot.

10 Aug 2017 14:13:59
Nzonzi would be better.

Agree2 Disagree2

10 Aug 2017 14:15:26
Yes dreadful player, i mean, what's he ever won, apart from the European Championship with Portugal.! The only reason perhaps why others have been scared off is i seem to remember Ed02 stating he had a complicated contract, perhaps with more than one owner? Otherwise he fits the position we need, he is a winner, and he can play, and he is way under 30, unlike others such as Mutuidi.

Agree0 Disagree1

10 Aug 2017 14:27:44
Not even West ham wanted Xhaka that was before last seasons unimpressive efforts :-)
Get Carvalho in and let's choose between him and Xhaka who we prefer next May says I.

when nzonzi was at stoke people laughed. very good player.

Saying that I did hear few weeks back he hasn't been the same player since his injury. Just have to trust the guys at the club I guess. Remember when we was crying out for m'villa. Thank f*** we kept clear of him.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Aug 2017 15:30:59
Yes Ed told us that his situation is difficult but I thought third party ownership of players was illegal now? Perhaps that's just in England.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There is no issue

10 Aug 2017 17:14:37
Nzonzi would be a great signing and he's playing some of the best football of his career. He wouldn't be one of the most sought after midfielders in La Liga otherwise. As for Carvalho, most other teams don't need him in the top flight because they have already have players in that position.

Whereas, we have needed to fill the empty space for years. We should sign one of them and play them along side Xhaka or Ramsey. Strength in the middle as well as great creative play going forward.

Agree0 Disagree2

10 Aug 2017 20:57:23
Agree with you Derby. Watch a lot of Spanish footy on TV and Nzonzi was brilliant for Seville last season, and he plays in exactly the role that we are crying out for. Add to that he is way over 6ft, so handy defending corners. I wouldn't be unhappy if he came back to the prem with us.

All this talk about Ox being better than Belerin at RB has made me wonder why Barcelona don't just but the Ox and save themselves a fortune.

Is it by any chance because they want a RB and not a RWB young man. 😁.

Reading between the lines, taking into account Sanchez's mysterious injury and reports of an offer for the player of £80m from PSG, I imagine that Arsenal may be trying to tie up Lemar or Moura. Wenger has strong ties with PSG and hence this may be going through quietly if it is Moura we are signing as Sanchez's replacement.
The Ox situation is worrying if reports are correct, he wants £120k per week, which Arsenal won't agree to, yet Walcott I believe is paid more. It is more likely that Ox simply wants to move to a different club. Although he wouldn't be in my first eleven, he is a valuable squad player who can play in a number of positions.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

10 Aug 2017 09:59:59
There is no way we are signing moura, we don't need another walcott.

It seems that things won't change. We go into the season with close to 10 players absent and top of the 'physio' league. We have only made two signings. Despite Wenger stating to the contrary we look like losing Sanchez and Oxlade. We also haven't agreed an extension to Ozil's deal, so his position at the club is precarious. We appear unable to sell average players on inflated wages. There will be a last minute desperate attempt to sign one player to replace Ox and Sanchez. I expect that Sanchez will end up at City and Ox at Liverpool or Chelsea. With Mbappe likely to go to PSG, it will make signing Lemar even more difficult, whilst other clubs have managed to sign players from Monaco we have floundered with our dreadful negotiating team. Odds on Mahrez ending up as Sanchez's replacement? The good thing is that we will win the FA Cup again!

Get van dijk. sell ox. use chambers as cover for bellerin at rwb. even niles can be used in that position. Honestly ox dosnt look like he wants to be here.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

10 Aug 2017 07:40:33
Ox is off I'm sure. I'm not certain about Chambers as he isn't mobile enough to cover for Bellerin and Maitland-Niles isn't good enough yet. Perhaps Reiss Nelson, if he has the defensive qualities needed?
