Just a quick stat for you, in the season RVP scored 30 goals in the premier league, Alex Song got assists for 11 of them. I repeat 11. Imagine if we had someone who could put the ball in the back of the net with Özil.

Agree. Its been an awful pity watching Ozil become increasingly disheartened in the latter stages of the season. He cooked the bread, sliced it, laid it on the plate, and no one had the balls to butter it!

I should say we look good in midfield for the mean time; Cazorla, Ramsey, Elneny, Coq, Jack, Ox, Ozil. Quite satisfied with the competition there. I think the likes of Flamini, Arteta and Rosicky should give Adelaide, Jon Toral, and Zelalem a fair chance to experience a first team call up following their departure. Therefore I suggest we sign a quality CB (a leader) and a top striker to see us challenge again. I am for "give Campbel a chance". There's no fault in his display.

Not a lot wrong with that post. Reines-Adelaide is going to be the best player in the world and I don't understand why we would even consider selling Campbell. He's done really well after an average start and he has the vision of Clark Kent. A top striker and centreback is actually all we need but that's been the case for a few years.

With welbeck injured and Walcott likely to leave, I think a striker coming in looks certain.

If Giroud leaves i think we will go all out for a real quality no questions asked first choice striker, but if Olly stays I don't see Arsene demoting Iwobi to 4th choice behind the new man Olly and Danny limiting his appearances dramatically.

Campbell is great, iwobi looks promising, move Theo and the ox along . Get a hardcore midfielder and someone who can rattle the back of the net. We need a hard case.

I can't see Giroud, he is AW's first choice and is clearly a big favourite.

Hummels to bayern is done.

Surely we should try for Benatia / Javi martinez?

Don't worry we will not get any one of them, because Arsene is always looking for world class additions which will improve our team but will not pay the money, we will get some unknown guy from the French league.

Any one of them would do Billybob
Both an upgrade on what we have.
Surely one of thems up for grabs

Benatia
Xhaka
Icardi

Those three are certainly gettable, Wouldn't mind a tricky winger to add to that but if that was all the business we did in the window I'd be one happy gooner :)

Hi by some Miracle we wer able to get these three, I would take back every criticism I have made against Wenger.

(Note - that doesn't stop me from making NEW ones) :)

Benatia
Xhaka
Icardi.

With all the talk of Walcott to Wesr Ham.

I think we should all look at Wenger's approach to patience with players he thinks are "world-beaters"

Take Rosicky. He has been at the club for 10 years. That is around 500+ matches he could have played in. He has placed about a 3rd of these.

Wenger NEVER considered selling him.

Why would Walcott be different?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

10 May 2016 17:54:46
Bcoz Walcott isn't half as good as Rosicky.

For me every time Rosicky played he gave 100%.
I don't think Walcott has done that. Let him go.

Following on from my recent post, I just noticed that Walcott may go to West Ham for £20m. Since he returned from his serious knee injury Theo has't been at his best and with a player such as Theo who mainly relies on pace, a serious knee injury can take the edge of their pace and without being too harsh, there isn't much else to Theo's game, than pace.

I don't buy this rumour at all, UNLESS it is being triggered by an unhappy walcott.

Wenger is absurdly patient with his players.

There was recently, a very interesting article in a newspaper, I believe The Daily Telegraph, which echoed my thoughts; that the fans have become bored with Arsene Wenger.
I have suggested this before, as many fans only know one manager at the club or, ignoring one season Bruce Rioch, only remember George Graham's time as manager in addition to Wenger. As Graham took over in 1986, any fan who is younger than 30, maybe even in their late 30's would only have seen Arsenal manager by these two managers, again ignoring Rioch's short period as manager.
Over the last 2 windows, Wenger only signed 2 first team players, I can't recall the window prior to the last 2. Many of the players have been at the club for a long time. I believe that if the manager isn't changed every 3 or 4 seasons, then at least 3 or 4 first team players should be signed by the club each season, which would mean that the team would change and the fans excited. Those old enough to remember will recall the excitement when Rioch became manger and brought in Bergkamp and Platt or the excitement when the Unknown (to most gooners) , Arsene Wenger became manager and brought in French international Remi Garde and Patrick Vieira. The answer this summer is, not only to release players such as Arteta, Debuchy, Flamini and Rosicky, but to also start to resell and replace some of the fixtures at the club that have become a little stale; We could consider some from; Gibbs, Walcott, Giroud or Ox. Not that these players are poor, but we need an injection of fresh players.
I believe Wenger will try. and sign 2 or 3 players, when we really need about 5 players. When I say 5, I mean 5 top quality first team players, not youngsters with potential. This would be difficult for the following reasons; 5 first team players would be difficult to sign with the current negotiating team we have (in David Dein's time, we would have had more chance of achieving this) , 5 players are difficult to integrate into a team in one go, Wenger simply won't sign 5 players, nor sell 2 or 3 established players. Failing which, we will see more of the 'same' next season and possibly see Wenger depart.

10 May 2016 10:30:00
Absolutely. Ferguson was very good at freshening things up pretty much every year with a marque signing or two. It sends out a message and can change the mood significantly for fans and team mates. Unfortunately Wenger doesn't subscribe to this and seems to sign players under duress. Some of his signings did send out a message and Van Persie heard it loud and clear.

Thought that was a great article and in fact it is very very true.

We are probably quite spoilt and the "unknown" seems exciting.

We are a housewife, who is bored of her 20yr marriage, where the anniversay is celebrated at the same restuarant every year :P.
