WOW
Good to see the spurs lads crowing,
about players leaving us, lol
Lads you are having a good season, and don't think its over yet.
Lads, was it not 1995,that you last finished above us? Is it true that in the last 30rs you have won 1 fa cup 2 league cups and a Christmas raffle. If I'm wrong sorry,
Watch you don't sell your best players to pay for your stadium!
YES
We will hear we are on the up and things are going in the right direction. Why is that so.
All clubs go through a blip

If you end up above us, are you happy that being above the great ARSENAL once in 29 years is an achievement.
Then I will shake every Spurs fans hand and say Wow you have achieved it
It is somewhat a freak year, great for the small clubs . But does anyone really think Leicester will win it next year

So Raver / Northeast enjoy your year. But history tells us. You are born to be in our shadow.

One question if I offered you to come one place below Leicester at the start of the season would you have taken it
Lads take this as its ment a bit of fun
Yet full of facts and the truth. lol.

'The great Arsenal' seriously welshy that's so funny!

Now if you were a Barcelona, Madrid, Milan or United then you could brag about being a great side. Laughable comment. Rose tinted glasses as per usual, try being objective with a hint of realism for once.

It is the reason they are so excited Welsh . Just imagine getting noticed after a quarter of a decade! It must be really flattering. Let em have it mate . This is Spurs biggest achievement in decades they are bound to be happy! It's normal behaviour.

Never mind players leaving us, the Toot must beware that Pochettino has already shelved talks of a contract extension until the season has ended. If a big club comes in for Pochettino, he could well be tempted to leave. In addition players such as Kane and Alli, particularly if they have a good euros, will become sought after by the big clubs. Smaller clubs such as Leicester an the Toot have over-achieved in the PL this season, but fans are fickle and next season could be a totally different ball game for both clubs, as expectations become more onerous.

In all honesty goons, where we finish this year really does not bother me, as long as we get Champions League football next season, I personally think the league is now finished, unless Leicester loose against Wetspam.

Europa league matches, distance to away games and also the amount of games played is a burden for all teams who qualify for it. Thursday then Sunday matches has its strain on all teams playing in it.

As rival supporters you honestly can not be happy with the transformation of our team and the disparity between our teams now?

I read that your own fans are in limbo with the current squad and management? There is a big rebuilding job at hand for you! Can you attract players if there's so much uncertainty over your manager? Will the board allow Wenger to spend if he does not sign a new contract? Will your manager step aside at the end of this year? And if so who do you get in? Then there's a settling period for a manager to put his philosophy on the team and finally to get his own players in!

There's definately some testing times ahead for you boys in my opinion.

Good post NES.

You can't deny Spurs have done well this season.

Poch is doing a good job at WHL and has developed a good team.

We, on the other hand, have under achieved, but (technically) are only 3 points behind you.

We have been through situations like this many times.

Moving to a new stadia, selling our best players to facilitate the move and having to compete against big money team's like Chelsea, City and Man Utd, on a shoe string budget.

It's nothing new for us, and like I said, there's nothing between Spur's and Arsenal.

Agree2 Disagree8

11 Apr 2016 16:44:50
Fair play to you lot, I fully acknowledge that you have a good young squad. However Spurs with the new stadium coming may find themselves struggling to keep a hold of your talent or to attract players of a higher caliber, which if Leicester do win the league next year, you may look to recruit in the summer with a view of challenging next year. However, Chelsea and City SURELY can't be as awful as this year, especially with Pep coming in. I feel this was your only shot tbh, don't get me wrong, this year was a bloody good chance for us, as I ain't confident about competing with City in the next few years.

However, I think that we are in a better position than Spurs to build a squad. We currently have reportedly £200m in the bank, which hopefully our rapid decline this season is a blessing in disguise. By which i mean that it hopefully kicks the board into action and freshens up their ideas. Honestly think that we will sign a few £20m+ players this summer. Wenger will renew in summer also. With a strong, relatively young, squad in the next few years we will be quite a bit ahead of your lot.

Taking this into consideration that this season you haven't really had a rough patch, where as our last 3 months have been. I can't see you doing it again next season.

On another note. combined 11 for Arsenal v Spurs. Basing it on if everyone is full fit and on form.

Cech
Bellerin - Kos - Alderweireld - Monreal
Wilshere - Dier
Alexis - Ozil - Eriksen
Kane

Basing it on this, individually we are better. But Spurs are a much better unit. I can see us working on this a lot over pre-season. Not to mention the fact that we are in the market for a new CB, CM and CF. I'm not overly concerned about you being > than us. My opinion is that a few dodgey games at the start of the year and injuries. Really threw our confidence and I think Wenger was also thrown at the fact a team that looked like it was building up steam towards the league, completely collapsed.

Basically, I can see us next season and for years to come, above you and hopefully making our way to superclub status, just as you have established yourselves as regualr top 4 candidates.

Agree2 Disagree9

{Ed001's Note - how on earth does Wilshere get in there? Even when fully fit he is not that good. How has he fooled so many people that he is something special at anything other than being a complete tool or getting injured? Players like him are why England are so useless. They lack the technical ability to be anything worth talking about. Dembele, on the other hand, has that in abundance, just needs a little bit more fire in his belly to be top class. He is certainly better than Wilshere though. You would have to take Alli over either anyway, or Eriksen, depending on where you choose to play Alli.}

11 Apr 2016 17:03:41
Have to agree with Ed,

Certainly based on 'value to the team', Wilshere is not fit enough to lace Alli's boots.

In fact, Wilshire is not fit enough to lace his own boots.

Agree2 Disagree2

11 Apr 2016 17:11:41
Alli would certainly be next choice behind Wilshere, but I just think he's a brilliant MF. I think we have to agree to disagree dags/ ed.

What'd also be interesting would be to see how Iwobi and Alli would compare, given Iwobi a full season. He seemed comfortable the other day against west ham.

Agree0 Disagree7

11 Apr 2016 17:02:55
ed - Wilshere has no technical ability? laughable. Wilshere fully fit would wipe the floor with Alli, Dembele or Eriksen. Delusion if you can't see that. It's just a shame he's never had a prolonged period in the team. Regardless, if Wilshere is fit he has to play. He can pass, dribble, shoot, tackle. England perform much better with Wilshere as well.

Agree2 Disagree6

{Ed001's Note - did I say no technical ability, or did you decide that through your clearly Wilshere-tainted specs? You are deluded and utterly insane if you think Wilshere is anywhere near those 3 technically. He can't tackle, he can't dribble, which is why he constantly picks up injuries overstretching to keep control of the ball, he has a terrible attitude and only the most deluded Gooner could possibly believe he is that great. I don't care about England, but that was exactly my point, it is because England are so rubbish that players like him make a difference. I really can't believe how deluded some people are, he makes Diaby seem worthwhile. He is the typical knobhead moron footballer who lets himself down on a regular basis.}

Arsene is going no where this summer and next is anyone's guess, its not a matter of wanting or not wanting him to continue its just how it is.
Will he suddenly change his ways this summer? Its hard to imagine he will suddenly give up on players he's been backing for years or that he will second for section chioce buys if he can't get it exactly who he wants.
If he wants let's say Kane for arguments sake but can't get him Vardy is not an option he will consider and so on, its his way not pay decent money unless he gets exactly what he wants, he would rather go without completely, I don't agree with him but that's irrelevant.

Whenever a player is injured long-term, he has no technical ability blah blah blah. Same applied to sturridge n welbeck, they were supposedly no good 2 months ago and are now starting every game. Imagine the number of transactions if managers started thinking like that.

Problem for me Dags is you've had that money for a couple of years and not spent it? So why will that change this year?

I agree we are both closer than ever this year and taking into account all our draws first half of the season, what in my eyes was our poor run, I still think we have a better youthful squad. Fans obviously lean towards their own team and yes you have a couple of quality stars in your 1st team but IMO we have a better squad that can rotate.

KK how you see your development into some 'super club' bewilders me? The amount of transition that your club needs is quite alarming. New manager (allegedly) new centre half, holding midfielder, striker and that's without the sales that the majority of fans are calling for. Walcot, Wilshire, Ox, Gibbs, Flamini, Rosicky, etc etc that's 9 players and a manager. Alarming seriously.

I would totally agree that Wilsheres' attitude and his injury record has let him put him down, but technique. No! He's always been quality whenever he's on the field, that's why managers trust him and include him even if he's not fit. Does he values the managers trust is other question, altogether. :)

Is it just me who wants to cut Walcott loose? For me the only good thing about him, is that he is English, otherwise I reckon he would have been sold long ago. Yet again he has failed to reach his potential, yet someone who has been at the club for 10 years should be a fully integrated first team member not a bit-part player which he still is. All theo offers is pace, he has proven he cannot lead the line alone, he is not clinical enough as a striker. Yet out wide his running against players is poor, he hasn't got great dribbling and his final ball is largely poor, so hat does he actually offer us that the likes of sanchez, campbell, welbeck and Iwobi dont. Iwobi has done more in the 4 3 league games he has played than what walcott has contributed this season. I really feel it is time to cash in on Theo. Hopefully he proves me wrong but 10 years of no significant development leaves me doubting.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

11 Apr 2016 13:16:04
I recall him once saying he didn't practice certain things in training, I think when he was asked about dribbling skills and he said he didn't.

I don't think there is many would argue that he has made little to no improvement.

I watched Gnabry in the U21's last week and I'm certain we have a better, ready made replacement already in our ranks. Albeit they were playing Newcastle he was excellent and looks as quick as Walcott.

So yep, get rid. United are currently paying massive fees for bang average players so flog him to them for £40 million. :-)

There are a few that need clearing out Walcott is one sadly The Ox who I thought would do well isn't performing either and we can all mention a few.
The only point is. Is it the coaching that's wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Apr 2016 13:59:05
Personally I see no future at this club for walcott giroud ox gibbs or wilshire. None have ccontributed to the team the level of contribution required for a team wanting to go places, while they stil have a good value it would be reasonable to move on to lower placed teams or abroad and bring in fresh faces who can move us forward. With the imminent departures of rosicky flamini ospina and arteta, it would take a lot of wasted wages off the club and allow for quality replacements. Will it all happen, I doubt it. We will still have the same next season. Plus we have a few youngsters who could be promoted to the squad and like iwobi given a chance to prove themselves.

I believe it is destiny that Leicester Wil win the league. How and the hell does Rodwell miss that chance. The ball is definitely bouncing their way. I do see a way for us and definitely Spurs. If west ham can do us a favor and When we win our next 3 games we will be 4 back with them playing Swansea later that day. If they don't get 3 we are in with a definite chance. As they finish with Chelsea and Everton. I know it's wishful thinking but still conceivable.

Believable0 Unbelievable5

11 Apr 2016 12:00:32
I don't see the goons getting more than 74 points, therefore Leicester only need one win and a draw from their remaining 6 games? given they have only lost 3 games all season, that would need to be some catastrophic capitulation. so for me your season is over.

I see our lot finishing on 75 points

A loss at home against Wetspam is a must for either of our teams to have any hope. it will all make for an exciting finish 'IF' Wetspam get a win.
