January for sale list - they are rarely if ever used, and just a drain on resources.

Campbell
Rosicky
Podolski

listen to offers and get replacement -
Flamini
Arteta
Monreal
Cazorla

Buy -
Centre back/Right back/left back - multi purpose player
Def mid
Would love a wide left speedster

Thoughts?

PS - Bored and stuck in an airport lounge in case you're wondering.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I totally disagree with your post.

some of these palyers are better than the frequently used players.

The problem with the team is Wenger and his selection criteria.

Joe Cambell, Podolski, Rosicky are better players. not being utilised or know when not to play the likes of Giroud (who lacks power in his shots) is AW stubborness

Despite Ed002's reservations, the rumours about Lucas Silva joining in January persist.
Does anyone know precise chapter and verse on the work permit position?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - There is no work permit situation - he won't be joining Arsenal.}

From what I've seen from credible journalists he is pretty much already a Madrid player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Iv heard we are willing to match the 12 million pound fee which other clubs wont. iv never seen him play tho.

Kos and Chambers out on Saturday along with Monreal, any ideas on the back four?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It will be a back four of Debuchy, Mert, Wenger, Gibbs ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Dec 2014 22:33:51
No LemonTree, Bouldys in the back four as Wenger is playing DM.

It promises to be fun because I've not idea who is left, they could play Debuchy next to Mert and Bellerin RB.

11 Dec 2014 22:55:39
Debuchy, Gibbs, Mertesacker and Ed025.

Today's poll.

"Should pens count towards a strikers total?".

11 votes.

7 said yes.
4 said no.

Are you one of the 4 who said no?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Only if they're Parker pens!

We have problems at the back, but Newcastle have problems too.

Out>
Tim Krul, Rob Elliott, Meidi Abeid, Fabricio Colocini, Rolando Aarons, Gabriel Obertan, Siem De Jong, Curtis Goode, Davide Santon and Ryan Taylor.

Steven Taylor and Moussa Sissoko are both suspended.

Anything less than a win and its a disaster as they are without 12 players. (Granted, not all first teamers).

Just watched Wenger in Wenger out shake it all about on Arsenal Fan tv, .
Interesting listening to the panel calmly talk it out, none though he would ever deliver again but equally none want him or think he will ever be sacked instead hoping he will fall on his sword, but equally not one the 5 are expecting him to do that either no matte what happens.
Consensus! Its another 2 and half years no matter what.
I've a feeling it might seem longer some how :-)

Come on g62 stop doing this to yourself, you really have let yourself be sucked into so much gloom.

It'll be a roller coaster ride to the end of the season, players are coming back and just enjoy moments like Ramsey finding form, scoring blistering volleys, Sanchez running amok, Chamberlain improving, Walcott finally coming of the bench to score.

The return of Ozil in the 10 role playing behind Giroud through the middle, Sanchez on the left, Walcott on the right and Rambo making those runs with Lars Bender standing in front of Koscielny and Van Dijk.

Nothing is ever as bad as we think, drag the old g62 out, dust him down and let him loose. :-)

G62,

The most important thing to remember, is that all fans are fickle.

Now, I'm not saying its going to happen, but if we finish in top 4 of PL, reach CL semis and win FACup, and Wenger promises to defensively strengthen us during the summer, everybody will be praising Wenger, or at the very least, we would have a more optimistic outlook, with regards to the future of Wenger.

Its like marriage, if you have been pi55ed off with the missus all week, but on Saturday night, she plays a blinder in the bedroom, all will be forgiven lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Dec 2014 21:59:28
Red, looks like you and I are the optimistic ones and, whilst Wenger remains in charge, will continue to fly the flag.

G62 has waivered a little, but he's a top bloke, and he will come back fighting fit.

Correct G62?

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair play Red, I saw it on there and found it interesting but do get your point mate, not another word on the subject in 2014 promise.
Consider it my prezie to all :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Dags I've already promised Red no more this year so can I answer in January mate :-).
But you know me when I'm wrong I'm never afraid to put my hands up and admit it, years of practice have made it easy

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Dec 2014 22:39:27
He is definitely a top bloke Dags and along with 337, LemonTree, Welsh and a few others we don't do to bad in staying cheerful.

G62 it'll be a great pressie but more for you than us. :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

The invisible man signed for us in the summer, plays Central Defensive Midfield.
Always goes missing.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's a very versatile player him Sussex, has had few seaseons quite a few seasons in goal then last season doubled up as a striker/DM and now he's playing DM, CB and RB a times too.
His consistency is remarkable in so many positions and has always lived up to his high profile reputation in the he big games.

Agree0 Disagree0

He also plays under the name of Diaby, but still can't be seen

Sussex he is called diaby!

Did you hear about Adebayor leaving spurs for a while to go to Togo because he apparently has to go rid himself juju curse placed on him by his mom or something like that I could be wrong but I think it's funny. Someone tell the man his is rubbish with or without a curse!

Watched the highlights from the Chelsea game last night and I was (again) very impressed by the strength in depth in the their squad. It just goes to show a top manager and an ambitious owner can make a huge difference in just a few years.

Also with the January transfer window always pretty much impossible to bring in the targets you want would anyone be happy to see us being someone like John Obi Mikel in on loan as a stop gap to the end of the season? I'm not his greatest fan but he was excellent last night, has plenty of top level experience, puts in tackles and protects the back four. Let's be honest we are never going to sign a Pogba, Bender, Schneirderlin, Wanyama, McCarthy etc in January. With targets limited we could do worse IMO.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Dec 2014 16:53:25
Chelsea fans don't even rate Mikel and wanted him gone last season and I'm not a believer in them having a great squad.

They were missing Matic against Newcastle and how did that end up.

Tipped City for the title at the beginning of the season and they haven't even got in top gear yet. Seen zero to change my mind.

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea doesn't sell to Arsenal, only Arsenal in the top bunch in the EPL sells to its rivals - ouch, ouch ouch!

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Dec 2014 18:21:57
Only Schneiderlin and Wanyama for me.

Affordable and possibly attainable.

Agree0 Disagree0

Welbeck to Arsenal, Torres to Chelsea, Tevez to City? It's rare but it does happen. Chelsea almost gave us Demba Ba as well I believe, until the ozil signing scared mourinho.

garay and witsel set to be made available. what does everyone think of them?

hulk will go too I think but I don't rate him at all

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Where did you hear this Derby? I rate both very highly.

The Hulk is a decent player but I'd never pay his fee or wages.

11 Dec 2014 18:28:06
Garay and Witzel would be good additions.

Hulk? I wouldn't touch him with Banbury's barge pole.

Hulk
i watch him in the world cup.he reminded me of bentdner,

Aaron Ramsey has came out and stated the Arsenal squad back Arsene Wenger even if the club's supporters do not. I am not on the Wenger train anymore but it's good to know we have some unity in the camp amongst our squad.

On a side note this isn't Arsenal related but according to multiple reports from credible newspapers Raheem Sterling has apparently rejected a £70,000 a week deal at Liverpool. He has just turned 20, had one decent season and Liverpool have provided him with support and guidance yet he has the audacity to reject that deal. Money, greed and player power is ruining our game. Absolutely disgusting.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Dec 2014 11:23:35
Well said on both counts - especially the latter. Seems there's just no loyalty in that behaviour - what an absolute scum bag.

Agree0 Disagree0

It would be his agent pushing for more money, i'm guessing they tried to tie him down long term. Don't believe everything in the press it is standard for the first offer to be negotiated.

Also Liverpool are guilty of leaving it late, probably waiting see if he broke through this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

On the Sterling point, I don't see what all the fuss is about. A good 6 months and he's suddenly a world beater? He goes missing in far too many games and his final ball/finishing is awful.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Dec 2014 15:55:57
His value is 100k+ a week

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Dec 2014 18:43:51
Van it good to hear the player suport for wenger.I watch a show the orther night and Liam brady (legend) was speaking and he thought that Wenger was being very unfairly treated.I hope we get to the end of the season ,without a fan running up to him and throwing his ticket stunt.
As for sterling,pure greed.
Football has gone crazy, the money train needs to derail. Its sad to see the game going this way

Agree0 Disagree0

Uh? Surely it's cause he wants to develop his game, which he clearly iantband won't be doing at liverpool anymore. I think it's fair enough. I'm not saying money isn't a factor

Agree0 Disagree0

His value is 100k a week? What? Are you joking he hasn't even won ANYTHING in football. He has had HALF a good season and isn't exactly consistent.

In terms of development, where is he going to get better development? At PSG? He will be a benchwarmer. At Madrid? He will be B team squad member. At City? He will rot like Rodwell and Sinclair. He is getting first team football, a free roam and experience in abundance in the EPL as well as Europe. If he is ever going to reach the heights folk think he is capable of he is definitely in the right place.

Poll of the day: "Do you expect Arsenal to sign Moussa Sissoko?"

Should we?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - well Arsenal are interested, he has made slip ups on social media about being an Arsenal player and Newcastle are preparing for his loss by actively seeking to sign a replacement. So I don't know, should you?}

Would love to see us sign Sissoko & Schneiderlin, to replace Flamini & Arteta.
Van Dijk, Mings and Clyne, would be ideal defensive reinforcements.

Agree0 Disagree0

If it happens its a big step in the right direction, if it happens that is

Agree0 Disagree0

Sissoko is a good player and is probably the best 'type' of signing we can hope for in January as we all know it's a tough market. Although is he really good enough? I would prefer us to make do with what we have got and put that money towards a world class recruit in the summer of 2015. Having said that Sissoko is a decent player and would add depth to our midfield.

Ps I would rather sign Cabaye if he is available.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sissoko behind wanyama and Schneiderlin on my list but i'd have him for sure.

Agree0 Disagree0

If southampton won't sell I'd be happy with the addition of Sissoko. Throw in a CB to compete with Mert as well and that'd be a good window for me.
