Have been told tonight David Beckham to sign for Arsenal. Strange but maybe true, the odds appear to be dropping.

Believable0 Unbelievable7

I actually thought about this the other day, but the thought of all the abuse from no signing off posters made me not bother posting it lol

Agree5 Disagree1

Same here, 1404. Becks on a short term without taxing the hell outta our wage bill doesn't seem too bad on the eyes. sure, he's not the best or on top of his game right now but as an impact player, i don't think it'd be as bad as, say, getting Gervinho on.

Up until 5 years ago would have been a magic signing. But I've also heard were bringing back Paul Marinello also.

Arsenal have a transfer budget of 50m but there doesn't seem to be any concerted effort to actually sign anyone. Arsene Wenger has said that he will be active in the transfer window but it seems that we will miss out on transfer targets to other clubs because the club just doesn't seem to try hard enough to land transfer targets.

Believable7 Unbelievable12

So I supose he should say that we need to sign x, why and z and increase the value and competition to sign such a player?

Could it possibly be were either keeping our cards very close about signing players? or Wenger has already agreed to step down or up in the summer so funds are being saved till then? Just a thought sign up the current younger players on long deals to create a base for the incoming manager and leave the money in the kitty till summer so its there for him to use as he sees fit?

No, because without signing we arnt finishing 4th or above so it will leave the 'new manager' in a even worse situation. Anyway Wenger ain't leaving for a while unless he manages to get us relegated.

Ed is there any known interest from us for Wesley Sneijder. Or what chance do we stand at luring him here, bbc reporting his agent is attempting to make a late deal to the premier league rather than join the Turkish league, so he would obviously take less wages than at galatasaray, so I'm thinking 120k will be more than enough to tempt him and he wouldn't have much of a fee to pay either, what's our chances? Could be a real gem {Ed027's Note - not a chance

Dear Ed,

Any news on Victor Wanyama? Normally we are not very keen on spending but the Lad and Fellaini would complete the Arsenal Squad. Wenger needs to do something for the fans and this looks to me like the perfect thing to do right now! {Ed027's Note - just intrest, i think im right in sayinh he's signed a new deal or will do

Ed, is there any chance Wenger could sign Younas Belhanda? Apparently Montpellier are willing to let him go for a fee of around £12m and Wenger stated in the summer he is a player a likes. He can play on the wing as well as playing central attacking midfield when cazorla needs a rest, on top of that he already has a great understanding with Olivier Giroud. To me this transfer seems almost perfect, a top class player available for a reasonable fee! {Ed027's Note - nope we have santi, can't see him on the bench

Wenger is un-fricking-believable. He has played us fans and the media as fools. The 2 targets for the transfer market that he kept babbling about are:

1. To get our players signed up (Theo)
2. To get our injuries back (Rosicky + Diaby)

As many people had assumed there were never any legitimate targets for this window. Also as for only signing exceptional players. Here are some that are potentially available:

Fellaini
Schneider
Villa
M. Richards

I however think we will do some panic buys depending on how badly we perform over the next few weeks.

We won't be signing anyone as usual. i think we should stop posting rubbish and wishful thinking and go back to FIFA/PES for a better transfer window.
Arsene is a typical manager and he manages expectations. at the beginning of a window he promises possible signings, which then go to only signings of super quality and then it goes to we will buy only if we are short.
its the same pattern every window and we should be use to it ny now.

We all know diaby will get injured again so why not get mvila
We need a strong power house in the middle of the field more than once a month eg diaby .mvila jak an santi that is a great balance an I am shocked that we are not in for llorente could be great for us, 20 million an we have two players that can make the difference from fifth to fourth cost us a lot more than 20 million if we if we finish fifth love this site great job edds first time posting .

EDs, what are the realistic consequences of finishing outside the top 4?

I ask because this would be something very new for us Gunners.

Of course there's the loss of revenue etc. but how detrimental would this be to our organization in the short/long-term?

Personally I believe we will be in the Champions league next year, but Im curious to hear your thoughts. {Ed002's Note - The club will not budget to be in the CL every year so it will not have a significant impact if just a year was missed.}

I was lacerated as a pessimist in late December for saying Arsenal would sign no one in January. If the club does sign anyone it will be by the skin of their teeth. Wenger is being hampered by not being given the tools to do the job. He does not play on the field, that is, make defensive errors or miss simple chances. He has a proven track record of winning with Arsenal so he hardly became a bad manager over the past seven or eight years.

Wenger is over-performing with a limited budget that is once again being exposed during a transfer window when we clearly badly need players just to qualify for Champions League. I am not moaning or giving out but simply stating facts. Arsenal are in a good financial state (i.e. stable) but it is becoming clear they are way off competing for the League unless Stan Kroenke has a sudden change of heart.

The summer, which I think will see us just outside the Champions League (hope it's not true but current form is against us), will be the true indicator of whether the board are happy with things as they are or are willing to push on to better things.

Stewart

Believable4 Unbelievable3

We were told he has substantial funds to spend in January but HE has decided against investing it when there clearly is REAL talent available in this market. As for being a top manager. He used to be a forward thinker yet now his ideas and ideals do not work. Football has changed while Wenger has remained the same. If Wenger is unwilling to change (even a simple idea as not using zonal marking) then he must go. We need a forward thinking manager who is willing to spend (even if it is over the odds).
Chess

Ppl always saying we won't qualify for CL and we always do.. completely agree that we are overachieving and have been for the last few years but that is part of the genius that is arsene wenger.. i think we will make one marquee signing and place fourth.. good times are ahead.

So let me get this straight - before the window opened, Wenger said his priority was the games we had.

Then we landed that commercial deal and he said we have some financial freedom this January if we want to spend.

Two days later he said he intends on dealing with matters in-house and would rather promote than buy.

The following day he 'gives ESPN an interview' saying he looks forward to and intends to bring some players in, but it depends on outgoing players.

A few days later he says he is not looking for players.

A couple of days ago he said that he has been busy, things with Theo are progressing, and that now that Chamakh and Djourou have gone, if we want to sign some players we can, and he made it very clear he IS looking.

Simultaneously, he admits Holtby is a target. The following day, Holtby signs a pre with Spurs.

Now, he has reverted to saying he has little to no desire to bring anyone in.

And this is the guy people think will carry our club forward?

Believable10 Unbelievable8

Read an interview lately that Wenger gave, and in it he said he changes his mind every day whether we need players or not, and he changes his mind every day who to bring in or what position needs to be strengthened. Is this really the man to lead us forwards? Are we not just going sideways and even backwards? Top 6 for us this year.

Agree7 Disagree3

Great so what he should have done was tell everybody in the first press conference the names and addresses of every arsenal transfer target because why would we be cagey about telling other clubs our transfer targets.......

Agree3 Disagree0

May be that is, because when we have a target City, Chelsea, T..sh*ts and others make far bigger offers and take him from us... So never expect Wenger to reviel his true plans in the press... It is so simple, why can't people you understand that...

Agree4 Disagree2

It's not about mentioning names. it's about sticking with your intention. so if he really wants to add to the squad why not say: "yes we will do."?

Lads I think it's time to lay off Ramsey and show the man some love. I know he's been frustrating but he still has world class potential I truly believe that. It can't be easy being going from first team starter and captain of Wales to a bit part player at his age, I believe if he has the opportunity to play a string of games in his favoured position that's we would have the player we expected so much from back. I believe he will be a huge player for us going forward along side jack and dominate midfields for years! Come on lads lets get behind him he's one of us!

Believable13 Unbelievable6

I'm sick of hearing the word potential. We have been waiting for potential to come to fruition for the past 7 years god damn it, and when they do they get poached by the money bag clubs of the premier league.

Agree6 Disagree2

I expect him to settle into Arteta's role next season or so unless we get a replacement by then. either that or Wenger keeps playing him so far out wide on the wings that he flies straight outta the stadium and the club.

Agree0 Disagree1

Even Wales realised he was not ready to lead them just like he is not ready to start for Arsenal. Loan him out like Miyachi and Frimpong have been, like Wilshere was in the past as he needs to play every game in the prem. Then we can see if he still has the potential to play for us. For me he has never looked like a world class player but now he looks like a League 1 player.

just want to give my thoughts on theo personally i don't think he has done enough to warrent £90,000 p/w he is so inconsistant he isnt a skillfull player just really fast why make all this fuss about him we signed him as a hot hot prospect and he doesnt seem to have improved he only ever does enough to make you think next season it will be his year but it never is

Believable9 Unbelievable8

Utter rubbish!

Are you Stewart Robson?

Agree7 Disagree3

He's our most experienced (just edging out Sagna, i think) in terms of appearances. he's a symbol of us finally not caving in and selling our senior player like the past few years. plus, to think that he earns just the same as Podolski who's having his first year at the club when Theo's into his 7th year here (or 8th if i'm not mistaken) playing for the first team is hardly unthinkable.

I think his 3 finishes against Newcastle alone show he can finish and has improved vastly in that respect, his speed is a massive plus but there are other areas he can still make a lot of improvement.

At 23 RVP, Drogba nor Henry were the finished article but more importantly it would seem like we'd taken our last step back if we kept him.

Stoner

Agree5 Disagree0

Totally agree, he's been at arsenal for 7 years but only has been performing well for the last 3 months. Does this mean he should be getting 90k? If so Michu should get 150k a week, he's been doing well from august.

Why has it taking walcott so long to perform to this level? Because he wants a new contract? What happeneds when he get his contract? He performs like he's been doing for the previous 6 years. People will say he's playing up front that why he's performance has improved, he's only made 4 starts as a cf.

Just remember adebayor, got his contract, got big headed and was awful in his last year at arsenal

Agree1 Disagree1

Punctuation? Your thoughts seem a bit messy!
So you don't want to keep him for that price? And who would you get instead of him? I personally think it's a good investment. He's improving whatever you think about it, and he showed class in important matches sometimes. He might be inconsistent but he remains our best player this season (oh Lord...) and getting rid of him would be a mistake IMO.

Chess

Agree1 Disagree0

It has nothing to do with not wanting to keep him or not offering him a deal but in 7-8 years he has been at arsenal he is still a prospect and fair enough he is our best player this season but first let him show us what he can do down the middle before we offer mega bucks is this not the reason we cannot buy players because of our massively high wage bill for average players

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2013 12:59:19
how many more players is wenger not going to buy.
it clear wenger wants the mortgage of 35m paid first per year the highly paid wages next.

So why is wenger a football manager and not a director... seems more interested in that than winning trophies

clearly with the loan deals AFC are preparing financially not to get top 4 position this season.

Just seen wenger in press conference and his interpretation on the squad and the injured players coming back causes great alarm. "our squad is almost complete". Sorry arsene we are deficient in most areas. Then he says we must focus on getting rosicky and diary back. Oh dear me, those two can't stay fit for a game of subbuteo. "we are in the Market for only exceptional players", well arsene exceptional players cost exceptional money and we know your reluctance to spend our hard earned cash, on anything other than a lovely new house for hard up kroenke. Arsene is at a critical time in his tenure, if he refuses to buy when everyone is crying out for new signings, then he is taking the biggest gamble of his arsenal career. First draw or defeat after the window closes will see the biggest mutiny arsenal has ever seen. He is belligerent but not stupid. He has to buy or it's bye bye arsene. Santiago munez.

The article on Arsenal.com about Wenger and our two january priorities basically says:

-We will consider injured players returning as solving our problems

-We are not close to signing anyone, not even Walcott

-We can actually afford to buy some quality but Wenger is choosing not to

5: We can actually afford to buy some quality, and Wenger is working on it, but probably don't want to look desperate because it would level up the prices.

I believe Coquelin should play more games, as people say Wilshere, Arteta and Carzola are all the same type, small flair passers, yes Arteta sits back more but i think his performances has fallen and he just isn't psysically strong, Coq is all over the ptich (good way) he puts in good defensive work, and he is also attact well. Recalling back to Bradford he was unlucky to hit the post. Sayin this, Diaby is back soon and no doubt he should start, but when out is should be Coquelin.

Believable2 Unbelievable9

We need to revert to Wenger's successful fluid 4-4-2 formation, with a copule of tall athletic central midfield players, in the mould of Vieira, Gilberto & Petit.

Agree2 Disagree1

If Coquelin strings together some DOMINANT performances then that will take a lot of pressure off of Wenger and our midfield as well.

I just don't know if he has it in him. Maybe he does? Tough to say at this point, but if Wenger thought he had the next Viera in Le Coq he would be getting more game time.

do you expect any players lads? i wouldnt expect top 4 with no improvements squad is fatigued already and with champo league and fa cup replays and big league clashes it don't get easier!!

I only think we need two players to get us through this year.... huntelaar ( i know he's signed a new deal) and mvilla cost 20 million between them? why not take the punt!

we need CL football..although i think if we didn't make champo league it could be a blessing in disguise or the demise of our club

If we made it yeah wed just carry on plodding along maybe sell a couple bring in a couple however if we dropped into the europa we'd lose money and maybe the board and wenger would be more inclined to spend to get us back in.....

Don't get me wrong, I hate SAF but his handling of RVP has been almost perfect.

We used to need RVP on the pitch for a full 90mins or would suffer with second-gear syndrome and slow attacking play, but SAF knows this isn't the way to treat a star player and will deploy him as a sub.

When RVP is fouled, the whole ManU team know to get on the referee's back, to pressure for yellow cards and to protect their star striker - which makes the game easier as the clock ticks down. Arsenal's players don't do this, and hence the front players get bullied too often right until the end of the game.

I actually really liked SAF saying in an interview that he had rollocked his team for not finding RVP, like it is their fault when the pass isn't there, and RVP is blameless. There has been no talk of "time to settle in" or "getting fluid" - it is straight up talk that the midfielders job is to study RVPs movement and get the pass right for him.

I know it is early days but this is the first player of any sifgnificance that has left Wenger's Arsenal for SAF's ManU, and you have to admit it has shown AW up to be very far behind in aspects of player management and tactics.

Get over it, he's gone!

Agree2 Disagree0

For god sake v Persie has gone along with Cesc, Nasri etc move forward, move on, why keep on with same old stuff over and over again, its in the past like our history, i first supported us in 1952 when we won the FA cup our next trophy was 1970, 18 years since then we have had alot of trophies, our time will come again, hopefully not as long as the 18 years i and im sure folks of my age di but it will come, patience my friends

Wenger has commented that we require 2 players for each position & I would assume 3 goalkeepers. Assuming he keeps to this notion, we appear to need a 4th centre back as Squilacci is simply not an option. We need an alternative for Abu Diaby & a further striker.

The targets may be M'Biwa who can cover at Right-back, a defensive midfield player possibly M'Vila or Capue and a striker, anyone's guess.

In the summer, I expect us to release/sell Mannone &/or Fabianski and bring in a keeper. I expect us to sell Sagna as he criticised Wenger & bring in a new Right-back. I expect us to sell Santos & bring in a new left back.

Hi Eds, What do you think the chances are of signing M'Vila, Remy, Biglia and Zaha. Or is there someone else you think they are working on? Personally think we should take Remy & Biglia {Ed013's Note - I see Zaha as a Wenger project, the others would be a fight with other clubs in this window if they become available. It all depends on how much there is to spend}

Wish we'd have a go at Wesley Sneider. according to reports the contract offered by Galatasaray is aprox 100k - 115k a week.

Now whether he accepts this or not i don't know, he's currently on about 200k a week.

But he seems determined to leave Inter and Inter are determined to sell - £10mil is the asking price, and he is a world class player and he has that winning attitude we need.

Considering Arshavin is going in the summer, there's 80k a week in wages right there (thats 80k a week for 10 games this season, about £2m since match day 1 this year, so before people point at 'wage structure'as a stumbling block I'd rather we were paying £120k a week to someone who played and contributed than 80k a week on someone who sits on his arse for a living) .

So for the sake of another 40k or so a week, its got to be worth it for a creative, truley world class player who has won the champions league, serie a and la liga, as well as played in the WC final?

AG

Believable7 Unbelievable1

I don't want Sneider, another small midfield player. We need Fellaini & Wanyama, to give us height, drive & grit in the centre of midfield.

Midfield should be:
Wilshere Wanyama Fellaini Cazorla.

Agree3 Disagree3

I'd definatley go for Sneider. Iv got a feeling there is something wrong behind the scenes with him. Why aren't bigger clubs going for him. Only 28, 2 yrs ago he was almost the difference between Holland and Spain winning the World Cup

Agree2 Disagree0

You have over simplified it a lot. Firstly Turkish tax is probably lower than ours so if this figure is correct, he would have to be paid a higher salary here to match what he receives in his pocket. Secondly if we broke our wage structure for him all the players on around 90k who were told that was the highest we were prepared to pay would want matching new deals and that would cost a lot more.

I was looking at our fixture list for this month and realized that if we can win 3 and at least draw 2 it will have a bigger impact on our season rather than any signing just look at last year we got a few back 2 back results and let the rest of the teams worry. Would love to see a new signing but would rather take winning our matchesmthis month and lets be honest not a lot of major signings are made in jan and if they are they are usually flops jus look at torres, caroll,, arshavin and many more

I'm really trying to be patient but this window feels like the summer when we were all counting the hours down to midnight and nothing happened.

Difference now is I'm counting the days and struggling to believe anything is going to happen.

We're all going through the scenarios of what's going on behind closed doors and my recurring one is, nothing, Arsene is just carrying on as normal.

I'm hanging in there but Jesus it's painful. I just want to go into games knowing we can really compete again and I mean really compete.

I would say you are a one man team this season with the clog wearing pussy being the one man, but all credit to your manager, Rudolf. He has managed yet again to dominate with a team of average and ageing players, and succeeded by paying your only two decent players (pussy and shrek) 250k per week to play in your 'hole' of a city.

Van pussy WILL be injured at some point, Shrek will miss games when he needs another hair transplant and when Rudolf retires you will slide to mid table.

QPR close to signing m'vila what a joke! sort it out wenger KAY9

Believable2 Unbelievable2

If this is true, it means we are not interested in him. Having seen him, I am not certain he is top quality in any event. I would prefer a beast of an enforcer in midfield & would love to see Arsenal make every effort possible to sign the superb Fellaini.

Agree1 Disagree0

If Wenger doesn't sign him, it's because he doesn't want him.
In any case, why the hell would he want to go to QPR, and play in the championship next season ?

Agree1 Disagree0

If QPR are signing him that is because he isn't good enough for Arsenal. He is hardly an unknown so if no decent team is in for him he will probably be quite good in the Championship next season.

Hi Ed

for last 2-3 days i have been hearing that walcott will sign 4.5 yrs deal worth £ 90,000/- weekly.

but still there is anything concrete evidence that he will actually resign. Has any of the parties involved have given any official statement ? i don't. think so? AW pre- match press conference is sscheduled right ? i hope the reports do grill him on the walcott story, if he as seriously agreed to sign, then he should give some hint regarding this. if he answers in a typical AW style, then i think this whole thing is a hoax . At the last moment i have this bad feeling Arsenal will sell him to Man City or Utd. ( juventus is also an option). i still cannot believe AW has agreed to the salary demands of walcott and also playing as a centre forward. Because he is just not good enough.to be as a centre forward. A wingers yes, why does Bale not play as a Center forward, because he exploits his pace and tech skills at the left side of the midfield, which not only helps his team with assists, but also score goals. o think walcott has the pace and is scoring goals as a winger. He has provided good enough assists as well. Then why does is he is playing as centre forward. he can not win headers or hold the ball which is expected from a Center forward. Henry though scored less headed goals but did used to win headers when the ball comes from deep midfield or from a goal kick. by the way he is not as skillfull as Henry. he may develop this in time but right now he is not good enough to be a centre forward. He needs to improve his finishing also needs to be technically sound with thw ball. once he improves that, which can be done as a winger as a winger needs to be technically skillfull and should be able to dribble inside to create that goal scoring opportunity, thus giving him two options either play an assist or score goal by taking the shot. You see as a winger he has a much important role ( dual role assists and score). once he has improved he can play as the centre forward, just like Owen was able to do successfully. but he had that finishing and tech skills to turn defenders inside out and behind the opposite team defence. what will happen if he does not score. also do you think he will score above 20 goals in every season, which is what expected from a centre forward. Also right now he is not good enough to earn 90,000/- a week ? Does he ? falcon and cavani don't earn that much ? do they you?

Also our club ticket prices are high ok. it is costly but we fans also expect to get some value in paying this much money ? do we get that value ? we don't buy top players ? we have not won any trophy for years ? if they treat this as in terms business practice then we as customers.should get return value, which is what doing business is all about . then why pay.this much amount, because here we don't have any options to get another product ( club), as we can't get any other club into our hearts. So AW please give us loyal fans some good players and win trophy. We lost to bradford ? the ticket price at bradford is guess what 10-15 pounds that too when it is a cup game . Lets take banners into emirates saying we need change !! if this situation continues and we don't qualify for champions league we will loose both CL money as well money from our sponsors as well will be reduced as the.contract states if we don't qualify for CL, the amount given every year will be reduced as!! ARSENAL WAKE UP. BUY SOME VERY GOOD PLAYERS . 2-3 PLAYERS WILL DO WE.

DO GIVE YOUR INPUTS EVERYONE

CHEERS!!
LONG LIVE THE GUNNERS !! {Ed001's Note - there is nothing concrete, it is just that the two parties have moved closer to an agreement. Like any contract negotiation, it is impossible to be sure until the moment a deal is signed. Right now though, the feeling in the Arsenal camp is positive that they can get a deal done, when a few weeks back it seemed they had pretty much given up hope. The question will always remain as to whether Walcott is simply stringing the club along until the end of the season, or whether he really is willing to sign. The only way we will know for sure is when he either signs with Arsenal or someone else.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I may be wrong, but I have a feeling Walcott is stringing us along & will depart on a free in the summer to join his pal RVP at United.

Agree1 Disagree0

'arry did try playing Bale through the middle last season. Bale has very different attributes to Walcott. I still personally feel he is best as an attacking full back. If he went to Barcelona this is where he would play.

Hi ed, I do understand arsene's predicament in this transfer window. All the names the media and we the fans throw out as possible signings, all look good on paper but in reality are they any better than what we have. Then their is the hugely inflated transfer fee(seems anyone in a pair of predators is valued at 18 million euros wanting a kings ransom in wages for him, his team of agents, his glamorous wife and don't forget the house in hampstead next to thierry please. When arsene says 'super quality' I see what he means and how difficult that is. Santi was an aqquisition that ticked all those boxes and has added real quality to the team. I would rather bring in no one than anyone( can't endure another santos, gervinho or mertesacker). I'm convinced he will bring a top top player in and respect his stance in the transfer Market. 15 million for Wilfred zaha who has played 2 mins for England and not yet played in the prem or 20 million for negredo who is 27 and didn't cut it at Madrid. Bonkers! Mo mo

Believable7 Unbelievable0

In order for us to mount a challenge at the top, we need to push the boat out and sign some top notch players. We need to rip Baines & Fellaini from Everton, by offering £17m for Baines & £30m for Fellaini, with wages to match. We need a midfield enforcer & a quality striker. We can longer gamble on signing cheaper young players or risky options or we won't finish in the top four.

Believable9 Unbelievable0

I will watch it on TV & as fans we must decide whether we are prepared to pay the ticket prices or not. Dont forget a football club has enormous costs to be met, including the extortionate salaries of the players. Whilst The Emirates is full, supply & demand dictate the price of the tickets.

Why so impatient many of you.
There's still 20 days left in the market and we've set ourselves up for some purchases by clearing up wages (ie djourou, Cham and potentially others).

So, hang in there guys, I feel something big will happen soon.

Young Gunner

Believable2 Unbelievable3

We're still paying at least 50% of the wages of the people on loan.

more likely we having a trial for looking at what squad we can manage with no champs league money

Agree1 Disagree1

It could have all been concluded by now. WHy wait until the final day ogf the transfer market and add panice buys, it should have been sorted by now. IF we lose our next 3 games to City, Chelsea and Swansea we will be out of all domestic competitions and everyone knows we have no hope in the CL. My guess is it will be harder to entice players when we are sitting in 8th and in no cup competitions wheras a few weeks ago we were in 3rd/4th.

If michu was available for 15-20 mil would people want arsenal to sign him?

Believable5 Unbelievable8

Michu was available before Swansea signed obviously now had we have signed him how many on here would have been moaning because he was not a so called BIG NAME

Agree4 Disagree0

No - don't get me wrong he has been brilliant this season (so far) but I don't think he is good enough for Arsenal. Teams such as Barca, Real Madrid, Man you etc won't try and buy him so why should we?! We should be signing better players than that!

Agree2 Disagree4

Id take Chamakh's one legged brother right about now im so desperate for Wenger to open his wallet and buy someone. So yes, id take michu.

How can he think our team is the best it can be if we our 6th in the table.

Agree1 Disagree0

Two words - Clive Allen

A striker has to score goals 'regularly' not just be a one season wonder. Michu looks good but is yet to prove his worth.

Also from what I've seen of him he doesn't seem to much else for the team, which suits Swansea as they work hard behind him and counter attack.

I would rather have 5 players scoring 15 goals per season than one scoring 40

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure how he would fit into Arsenal. He is not good enough for the team to be built around him. He would be a bit part player like Ramsey and Rosicky and would have people moaning about how crap he is and he's not a big name and he did not cost very much.

I'm just going to say it...

I don't think we will sign anyone.

Maybe not even Walcott.

I hope to be proved wrong, but with Diaby coming back and Walcott supposedly signing a new contract, Wenger will see this as enough reason not to bring in the 'exceptional talent' he was talking about.

Best thing to do with Arsenal in the transfer market is expect nothing.

I find it insulting on Villa's behalf that people say he's too old. Age is just a number, it's about the quality you possess and he is one of the most talented players on the planet and one of the greatest finishers ever.

He doesn't look 31 either. People need to drop this 'he's too old' chat because you have no idea what you're on about. He is an improvement on about 95% of strikers in the entire league never mind our club. Berba at 34 is an improvement on what we've got too. Stop going on about age, this guy knows how to play, has got pace and will have for a number of years yet, and when his pace starts to fade he will still have his sheer football intelligence and class. He will be a cut above for years and if he comes here we will be blessed to have him.

Believable17 Unbelievable2

True but if you're 31 you'll be more prone to injury and fatigue. Personally, I would love to see him or Loic Remy in an Arsenal jersey.

Agree0 Disagree3

Shall we sign Berbatov in 3 seasons time then? He's currently 31 years old.

Agree1 Disagree1

Yes you have a point however the money that will be spent to sign him including wages sign on fees etc.. also don't forget the 16 million price tag barca have on him therefore it will just be to expensive to sign a player with not a lont term future and rvp to united is not the same for those who do he was 29 when they signed him so I think i might be the only one happy were not gna sign him

M'Vila is in the worst French team of the season so far, and has attitude problems and Adrian Lopez has scored 2 goals so far this season. Ask yourselves, do we really need these kind of players? The fact that we're competing with teams like QPR and Fulham tells it all. Aren't we Arsenal? We need top class players, if we want to keep our spot as a top team.
