Just a thought, all us slightly over weight fans will have to get fit and loose a few pounds. The new shirt defo won't flatter the cuddly man. i'm just going running now in fact.

I must admit I'd already thought there could be some ugly scenes in the stands this season at the emirates due to to the snugness of the new Puma Kits!

Agree0 Disagree0

My friends got one and its not the same tight fight the players wear. so I think all the slightly larger people will be fine.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hmm, shame. Would have been nice to get arsenal fans running, a lot of you could do with it. Middle aged men in footy shirts always annoys me as well, sorry guys

Boys and jenny what I am about to say I beleive I will get slated for but I feel I must put it out there. kHEDIRA is over rated and not no better than flamini nothing against flamini as he is a fantastic organizer and very disciplined but got £23m I would like a bit better. I beleive that KHEDIRA is an up grade to arteta and that's it. He's as consistant as miralles of Everton and rio Ferdinand, good in patches but not great. Right here comes my barracking. Is honestly prefer to spend £5m on Barry than 23 on him

Maids,

I'm not going to totally disagree because I have always said if we get a DM I would prefer Spyder (Schneiderlin).

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow I have to say you are 150% wrong, but you are entitled to your opinion. Kedira is a beast and when he plays he controls the game unlike Barry ot flamini who do their thing but don't influence play. Kedira is world class the others are good class.

Agree0 Disagree0

You are correct in what you say

You will get slated and get a barracking.

You will be excused as the consensus will be that you have just got in from the pub

Agree0 Disagree0

Not going to slate you as your entitled to your opinion.
I think khedira is top class. He's not a true DM very much a box to box player. Your comparison to Flamini I can't agree with. When you take khediras performance against Brasil and ask would Flamini done the same I wouldn't be able to say yes. Not even close. He certainly is an upgrade on Arteta you have that right.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not entirely, sure why he's even in the frame for the holding role. He plays box to box at madrid. Alonso is the holding mid. Schneiderlin or bender for me anyday.

Agree0 Disagree0

In what way is khedira overrated?
he's immense stamina? physical presence? ability on the ball? great passing range? great team player?
versatility in the middle of the park? great reader of the game? strong in the air and in the tackle?. these are all qualities in khedira and qualities that a proper midfield enforcer should have. when real Madrid won the title under mourinho, khedira was he's engine, anchor and battler.
I don't know what qualities you see in barry (slow, weak, average) that makes you think he is anywhere near as good as khedira never mind being better.
Dags I agree schneiderlin would also be a great option too, but other sitting deeper, he is no different to khedira imo, just believe the experience of khedira playing at the top top level gives him the edge.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree saying i'd like Barry, but Khedira is awesome. £23m on him is worth every penny

Upfront>>

Sanchez Remy Walcott.

Speedy or what?

C'mon, can you honestly say this trio don't excite you?

Talk to Dag's.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Jul 2014 23:36:47
The OX - Sanchez - Walcott excites me more. sorry Dags!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sanchez Walcott Ozil

For me this would enable a much stronger midfield.

12 Jul 2014 00:28:46
Dags, I'm converted. I'm now a disciple in your Remy cult. Get him in! Do we have like, a temple we can go to Dags? How about some monks robes? We can chant his name together.

Outback,

The Remy monastery is now officially open.

Prayers start at 10am.
Please shave your head and bring your own bell.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just imagining us all in puma sponsored togas with jenny bringing grapes round in a bowl in a huge remy shaped temple, and like if you look at the pool on the right light, there's like a mosaic of dags 'kissing' remy

Glad we didn't get Sanchez in the end. We have Sterling who I fell will have an even better season than last. #LFC

Woohoo! #Arsenal fans seem to be rejoicing another La #Ozil ( #sanchez ) signing. Oh, did they win the league with Ozil? #LFC #YNWA

As much as I wanted Sanchez at #LFC well done to #Arsenlol, gunners will still be lucky to make top4, 1player doesn't make a team

LOL

A few comments from Liverpool fans

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - they really are pieces of work BG, nothing would give me greater pleasure than for them to fall flat on their faces mate..

Really liked liverpool before the start of last season, they massively overachieved last season and seem to think they can do it again when they lost the man who contributed about 43% of their goals! Get off your high horses!

I don't care if you get £70m or £700m. Good luck replacing him when there is no one out there that can bar a few (who won't be sold.)

So Lallana - 25m
Lambert -4m
Can - 10m

You think they can replace the 30 goals suarez scored last season, plus the 10 assists?

Good luck Liverpool, you'll need it.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jul 2014 00:36:44
I was reading some of the posts on the Liverpool page yesterday, a few digs at us, but I didn't have the heart to respond in kind, poor kids seem like they've had some very bitter, sour grapes. Here's a bit of what I read, from memory, some of it is actually pretty funny:

"I heard Sanchez wants to play for City, so he has to go to Arsenal first".

"I heard Sanchez always wanted to compete for 4th place trophies, so he went to Arsenal."

I was going to respond with " Nice jokes their fellas, have you heard the one about the scouser captain who said don't let this slip, then slipped up and lost the title?" But, I couldn't do it, they're hurting enough as it is and trolling like that, on other team pages is a low act, in my opinion. I'll leave it for Chelsea fans.

Arsenal are hard on the heels of Khedira, what a signing that would be .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Jul 2014 20:46:30
That would be the cherry on the cake mate.

Top top player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldn't post a comment the other way. Question for the arsenal what do you think of your new kit, I'm not rating it no football shirt should be a skin tight shirt? Sanchez suits red and white though.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2014 21:37:16
Khedira a would be a great addition, add in Remy , Debuchy and maybe a central defensive player and we won't be looking to bad at all. I'm not sure how I feel about having a 'non' disappointing transfer window tbh.

Agree0 Disagree0

We will have some side if we get him Banbury mate that's for sure.
A couple of squad additions and we will be able to rotate so no player has to do what Giroud had to do last season plus be able
to pick the team needed on a match to match basis according to opponents and whether home or away.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - sounds good G62..

11 Jul 2014 23:22:38
Stecfc,

Bit tight for my liking.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed G62, I believe we really are just a couple of players away from having a side that can really challenge

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2014 20:21:36
Been away for a couple of days. Before I left the talk was we were very close, but close for Arsenal is putting an offer 5m lower then the club wants, and 30k less in wages then the player wants.

So yesterday evening I get to a t.v after being out all day, and turn on the news to see what injustice and all round crap is going on in the world. (I've cancelled my holiday plans to the Gaza strip. I don't care if it's all inclusive.)
And at the bottom of the screen I see, "Arsenal have signed Sanchez from Barcelona." So of course my first natural response was "What the f**k does the BBC know!"

So I get back this evening after hearing we've signed Sanchez on every radio sports bulletin across the board today and I still can't believe it. Where's the catch? Where's the disappointment? Where's the kick in the gonads? We don't sign top class players with ease. No last minute desperation. No city or chavski coming in under our noses. Just a straight forward, "How much? Yeah alright then."

I feel like I've been reincarnated and come back as Warren Beatty's finger tips.
(That's for the older members of this site)

Get in there.
COME ON YOU GOONERS

Just having a general rant/moan/putting it out there. With all these potential signings/interest in a whole host of players

Imagine say give or take a typical lineup and of course pretend they are all fit. is :

Szczesny, Gibbs, Mertz, Kos, (if)Debuchy (Jenk), Ramsey, Wilshere, Ozil, Sanchez, Giroud, Walcott (ox)

So questions like TV5 is he leaving? Djourou (haha) is still on our books is he not? Rosicky, Arteta, Diaby, Cazorla, Flamini? Midfield crazy? (not including if anymore transfers) Podolski, Sanogo, Gnabry, Is campbell coming back or wanting a transfer? Miyaichi-loan? Coquelin haha?

Yes we need a bench and rotation but a lot of these plays should/want to be first team (some are getting on abit or just should get FOOKED). I know it won't exactly be my lineup but if its slightly different then question rotates to the players that are swapped out AND that's me not even including any further/other transfers during the period that will then shift other players in and out of 1st team/bench.

Opinions/thoughts/facts?

Cheers all!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Jul 2014 20:55:38
With a few more signings we could be in a position where we could rotate players and still play a very very strong first 11 and have 4 or 5 top players on the bench.

When was the last time that happened?

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2014 22:19:36
I disagree for me its a great problem to have. Allows us to rotate more and therefore reduce injuries and makes us more capable of competing on all fronts. Yes some may want first team football but the chance to play a part in a Premiership challenging side is still an achievement. Diaby and Miyaichi do not count either.

Arteta is a very capable squad player who can also help the young players mature with the right attitude.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey thanks for replies,

Ha true I guess i'm used to a first 11 usually and that's it, Its weird for arsenal to have depth. And not the entire team in wheelchairs with injuries lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2014 19:58:32
Khedira
The spyder
Bender

I personally don't mind who we get as long as we get one of em!

Who do you lovely lot want?

.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Jul 2014 21:00:22
Personally,I have always said Spyder, so I'm going to stick to my guns.

The other 2 are great but I think spyder is more defensive and disciplined than the other 2.

We need a DM not an AM, so Spyder for me.

PS, If we get either of the other 2 I would still be mega mega chuffed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Either of the Germans.

Agree0 Disagree0

Possibly the toughest question. We can't go wrong in my opinion. Everyone is very good but has strengths and weakness.

I'm edging towards Khedira because he's great friends with Ozil and has been dominant this world cup

Agree0 Disagree0

Khedira because of his experience and he will be an incredible play at Arsenal

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jul 2014 01:02:22
Can I throw in Javi Martinez? Everything seems to have quiet on him, Wenger is a huge fan and I like to dream. Imagine it, 2 massive, 30m+ signings in one window. Talk about a statement! We are the Arsenal, we have financial power now!

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2014 19:58:29
Ed's, what the score with Johan Djourou. In April it was reported he had signed for Hamburg permanently. He is in the Hamburg squad for 2014/15 on their website and he is also on the Arsenal. Have we sold him or not?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed027's Note - he played a certain amount of games which made his move permanent, just awaiting official conformation I think

11 Jul 2014 19:44:10
Ed, what do you think will happen with Pogba?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed027's Note - honestly think he will stay at Juve

11 Jul 2014 18:25:53

If remy is/isnt coming. who (if anyone) else instead or including remy are arsenal looking to cover big GIROUD eds/everyone? Curious with the Balotelli/Benzema rumours quiet.

Mitroglou? Bojan? Shaarawy? names i'm sure i've read about as well.

Cheers

11 Jul 2014 20:27:47
What with the Sanchez signing, I don't think we will get a big name/big money striker in.

Wenger will be happy with Sanchez playing anywhere up front, including down the middle and I honestly think he will keep faith and patience with Sanogo (sorry Goldboy).

Now, there is a bloke on here who keeps going on about Remy, not too sure who, can't remember, but if Arsene signs somebody up front it won't be a massive striker, but somebody like Remy.

Well done that bloke on here, can't remember his name, but have seen his pic on Arsenal sightings' and he is a damn fine looking specimen of a man, but I think he has been right all along.

Remy could be the cost effective answer.

Agree0 Disagree0

I could see a last day deal for Balotelli. Interest has disappeared since the World Cup. Milan want him out but wanted £35m. Add a lacklustre World Cup his value has dropped. 25m last day offer. Could Milan afford to say no?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes dags I remember his name it's maidstone gunner come on remy

Agree0 Disagree0

I have no issue with remy coming, like you say it will be good to have cover/back up for a change. I dunno just silly obvious thing to say, other than sanchez who can play anywhere, I would just love to see a big name striker, no hate tho. cause I like giroud I think people are far too hard on him.

As for balotelli, he's still prone to stupid things (recent gun photo) lol, does/can arsene reign it in settle him more and get him to finally show the talent we all reckon he has? still a signing i'm unsure of, last thing we need is for him to come in and unsettle the team

Laters!

Hello Eds,

Thanks for all you guys are doing, awesome site.

Was wondering: Do you think we will also sign a CF to accompany the Sanchez signing? Or do you think that Arsene sees Sanchez as a viable CF option?

Thanks a mill,
Trinidad-Gooner

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed027's Note - Sanchez will be the top cf we have lacked since the cutch dunt left us, I can see us singing someone like Remy to add depth though, as he can also play out wide

Remy is far too pricey with his wage demands EDS.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed027's Note - I'm sure Remy will see sense

11 Jul 2014 17:20:46
"Cutch Dunt",
love it Ed.

Eds still cracking up, 'Cutch dunt' Genius.

Agree0 Disagree0

"Cutch Dunt"
LMAO

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed 27 if you see Sanchez as a ST what happens to Giroud?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed027's Note - it's call a squad mate, it will give us a pool of options for games. We could play both up top against the lesser sides, or shift Sanchez wide when we play the more physical sides.

Cutch dunt, made my day

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2014 16:22:23
still buzzing from Sanchez, hope there's more to come.
Just a thought, seeing as debouchy is a done deal and seems also the young right back from Athletico Madrid, could AW be considering turning Jenkinson into a CB of the Tony Adams mould? he would learn off Mert and Kos, Vermalaen for another year. Also with Bould coaching?
As I said just a thought!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Interesting idea. he did, of course, start off as a centre back. that's where he was deployed for charlton. his crossing ability is good though, my problem with him though is when he's issolated one on one he very rarely comes up trumps, prehaps this could be paperd over if he were to play centrally?

Agree0 Disagree0

That's what I thought Saint!

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2014 20:32:16

Agree0 Disagree0

Not a bad shout. He certainly has the height and pace to play CB, just needs to show he has the positional nouse.

Been away from here for a bit but I would like to say that my friends friend at the Emirates came up trumps.
The week before the 29th of June I posted on the 29th that Sanchez was a done deal and on the 2nd of July I said that Debuchy was a done deal which I also heard the week before. Some people thought I was doing a Malaga!.
I also mentioned Schneiderlin anyhow.
Two weeks ago I heard there was a strong possibility that Javier Manquillo of Athelitico Madrid could come in too this was from the same source.
Lets see what happens.

Any news surrounding the fact that Diaby's number has been changed from 2 to 24? 2 is traditionally a RB's number and I'm wondering if the bump to Diaby is to facilitate a new RB's desire?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He changed his number before last season.

Agree0 Disagree0

He changed last year, but I expect Debuchy to be Arsenal's number 2 this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2014 15:28:21
If we bring in a new CB will it be to replace verm or to add to him per and kos? Don't think we'd cope with 3 CBs and now Sagna has gone we don't have anyone to fill in.

Other than that I'm excited to see who else we get! Debuchy looks good as done and is a good replacement for Sagna. Ospina would be a good back up for shezza and I'd have any 1 of bender, khedira or the spyder and if we get another striker that's a bonus if not I won't lose any sleep. Great time to be a gooner! COYG!

Do you guys know if Arsenal's bid for Khedira is acceptable to Real Madrid yet? Also, is it true that Manquillo's loan will include an option to buy?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

According to the source that first broke the Sanchez interest, there is a buy out option for Manquillo.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2014 12:29:12
Eds, is it true what I'm hearing that the Remy deal has fallen through due to his wages demands. Shame if it does as I think he'd be good addition to the squad

Also re goalkeepers, are we close to signing competition/back-up for Szczesny

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed027's Note - don't know mate, and Ospina is of interest from Arsenal

Dags will need to take a cut in his commission for the deal to go through then!

hi ed's, can you clarify as of which date in the season players have to be u21 to be in addition to the squad of 25? is it september 1st? thanks

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - They have to be under 21 on January 1 in the year in which the season commences.}

Thats great because Zelalem, Gnabry and the Ox don't count towards the 25 then.

Read that fabregas had a part in convincing sanchez to join arsenal when he was at barca. I think cesc is still and always be a gunner at heart! Nyway i'm just going to say it agn ' sanchez is a gunner!'😃

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Fabregas ain't no gunner.
I defended him when he moved to barca. But now he's dead to me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fab went back to his boyhood club can not really blam him for wanting that and it turns out they did not want him in the end I don't think we wanted him back if we did we would been in for him so what is the guy ment to do if barca didn't want him anymore and Wenger felt funds wer better spent els were Chealse was pretty much his only option

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2014 14:53:33
I agree that Chelsea was his only option but he's no true gooner.

He showed us that when he left us in the lurch

Greatings from Wenger here at the beach. Okay boys and girls. Our main problems have been injuries and squad depth now that Wenger is adressing them 1.by bringing in new training and physio specialist and 2.buying and not selling our best and effective players. Some boys and girls suggesting sell poldi, carzola
arteta and others. let's learn from the past guys. Otherwise am still suffering from Sanchez fever.cheers

Just watched Sanchez's first interval in an arsenal shirt. He pinpointed exactly what sets us apart from the likes of city and chelsea "arsenal are a team that really looks after and cares for it's players." It also made me realise how important Arsene is, he is respected by players worldwide and they know how much they can learn from him.
Sanchez says he came to our club not just to play regularly but to win "every piece of silverware available" The ambition of this guy really excites me and I hope I get to see him at the Emirates Cup in a few weeks! And who knows, we could have a few more new players by then (and I hope we do!)
Proud to be a Gooner!
P.s good luck to Ozil, Per and Poldi for sunday, would be good to have some world cup winners in our squad!

Once the DMF position is sorted I think we have every reason to believe that all is possible for us next season.

I hope the resurgent rumours about David Ospina are true, quality keeper at a good price who would not throw his toys out the pram if not first choice.

If we do sign him he might persuade Arsene to give his brother-in-law a chance, the kid looks like he might have a bit of talent ;-)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hey guys been awhile since posting here, but I have been reading a lot of info and keeping track.

Pretty happy with Sanchez signing. Always been a fan when he was at Udinese. can't wait to see him on the field with ozil ramsey and walcott running a muck!

I ordered my new polo today and bought the home kit shirt. I also went with Ramsey name and number as he is my fav player of last season and a superstar.

so looking forward to this season. Seeing walcott back. And also getting a new defensive midfielder after we let song go. Kheidra would be a awesome addition for us, but the spyder would make me happy too.

good times ahead lads!

Not to keen on Ospina. Haven't seen him hold on to a single ball. Good shot stopper and all that but no point in parrying the ball into the path of RVP, Costa, Aguero or Suar. oh ya, Sturridge maybe?

It's a good time to be a gooner at the moment.
FA cup win and now showing ambition in the transfer market fairly early on. Hopefully avoiding a repea t of our previous deadline day scrambles.

Does this indicate a change in approach of wenger?
Hopefully he'll think about just giving up a little bit of control to his backroom staff as well.
Something he's been accused of not doing in previous seasons.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think Wenger know this is his final contract, he has worked so hard during his time here that he wants to leave with the club winning trophy's, especially the Champions league, I reckon he is going to really push for that.
Go on you glorious gunners!

just curious, if we were given tge option to take demba ba or remy. who would you all prefer?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Remy if he accepts a part role and reasonable wages, which I doubt, but Ba is not that great, we need pace to replace Giroud.

Agree0 Disagree0

Neither. But at a push I'd take Remy

Lakerville, that's exactly what I was thinking, a part role player for back up. I think both would be gud editions considerig our injury record.

How come all of a sudden everyone is talking about selling players. Our squad depth was not good enough last season we have signed one player! I am a bit confused, can someone explain to me why we should be looking at selling now. Our midfield and attack was down to bare bones after xmas and we struggled massively. We have signed a player to help with that. Sell Poldoski why?

He may want to leave and that would be fair as he may get less game time. Same for Carzola. But ship them out I don't think that's the best idea by a long shot.

And Jenks, why is he being mentioned by some as a player that should be sold? We do not have another right back? Even if we sign one we still need him and from what I have seen he is a promising passionate young guy.

Anyway enough of my ranting. I am still smiling whilst ranting though due to one Alexis Sanchez :)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I don't understand the Jenkinson thing. I'm hardly his biggest fan but when we'Dr still to buy a gk, a Cb, a cm and a st I don't see why we would want to go looking for another right back.
As for Podolski I get it. He blows hot and cold, doesn't really create much and with Walcott, Gnabry, Chamberlain and now Campbell and Sanchez we have the wings well and truly covered.
Don't want to see Cazorla go under any circumstances. Top top player, invaluable to the squad imho.

Agree0 Disagree0

If can sign an under 21 right back that won't count towards our 25 man squad and Jenkinson can go out on loan and get first team experience.

Agree0 Disagree0

There's a PL club ideally suited for Jenks to get that experience and their called Arsenal.
We will need two RB and Jenks is band should be one of them imo

Agree0 Disagree0

I have mixed feelings on this one too. I think Jenks has shown enough to be our right back of the future. Regular rotation, not just carling cup games, would be good. We complain about burnout of regulars and lack of rotation all the time.

He was good when he got regular play so a loan for a year could be good also. But not sure I want to see him go down the loan and then exit road. How many loaned players have come back to be first team regulars: Jack?. Song?.

Absolutely Buzzing. while I still feel Chelsea have the better squad with depth, Man city have the pedigree, Manchester United have the easier fixture list, and we have passed the weed to liverpool for the next toke, we have done quite well to snap up a RB(to be confirmed) and Alexis freaking Sanchez.

not to mention the possibility of signing khedira, if his wage demands get reasonable that is.

been a brilliant transfer window already, some may say we are easily pleased, but for a Club that never buys such superstars or players of higher quality, it is exciting, Ozil now Sanchez. i'm in tears and laughing.

Big shout out to the ED's for their info, taking time out from their glamorous lives to let the commoners know a bit more. its not Easy living in Monaco among one of you many haunts and being Ed002, neither is it easy melting in the heat and chilling in the AC in Dubai such as Ed001, or taking long terms of absence almost wenger like for Ed0027, not to forget Ed0025 who is as famous as he is in his speedos, and as witty as a gunman in a liquor store.( hand over the southern comfort and nobody gets hurt)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - it looks like the money men finally got the message lakes, invest in quality players..or get left behind, a fantastic stadium is wasted on a side who cant make the top 4, very exciting times ahead at the emirates by the looks of it, and with one or two additions could very well be the team to beat mate..

Perhaps we have quite the first team if we do add khedira, but depth wise I don't think we can match chelsea or city to contend on multiple fronts, unless the likes of wilshere, ox, raise their games with consistency, and the likes of cazorla and arteta can be counted on when their numbers are called.

but being able to contend for trophies at national level, be it Carling cup, FA cup, EPL is quite possible.

i just feel that bayern, madrid and barcelona have just gone to another level, and it will take a lot of luck to win that competition against those teams stacked with world class quality in more positions than I can think of.

Lakerville,

I think your maybe understating us a little, which is totally understandable as I'm not going to get carried away with we'll now win everything going.

But you can't say we have any what was called deadwood left, the likes of Arteta can play a great role in rotation.

I still haven't forgotten what we did to Bayern until the Ozil penalty.

It is in the team to do that and these additions and confidence will be key, let's start with not losing to the likes of City and Chelsea and continue to beat the smaller teams like Liverpool and Manchester United. Lol. ;-)

Jenny behave urself it only took us 30 mins to embarrasses you boys last year. Come the end of the season we will see who is the smaller team

Do you think we will sell Podolski as we now have Sanchez, Walcott, Gnabry & Ox, who can all attack with pace and power from wide attacking positions.
Although, I believe Wenger sees the future for Ox & Gnabry in more central attacking midfield roles.

Two fringe players that I hope have a good season are Abu Diaby & Zelalem. I pray Diaby stays fit. If we use him sparingly whilst he builds up his strength and match fitness, his drive from central midfield will be an immense benefit to the team. Zelalem is an amazing talent, but next season may be a little too early for him. I think he needs games to forward his development and a loan move to a lower Premier club may be wise, similar to Wilshere's loan deal to Bolton.

Our squad with Campbell and Sanchez numbers wise sits at 25 which includes Myiachi, Gnabry and Zalalem but only one GK. That doesn't include Djourou and Coquelin who are still listed as first team members but don't have numbers.

So I think it's safe to say we will see some departures which could well include Arteta and Podolski, I think Arsene saw Flamini as more than a one year hit.

Myiachi like others have said I think will leave and some think Cazorla but squad depth is the thing and I'd like him to stay.

Thus if you we have to add two keepers to the squad plus another RB and a CDM without knowing what we'll need in the way of CB's that is the likelyhood of 5 or 6 of the squad now listed on the club website making way for the needed new additions.

So :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Myauchi will definitely leave and I think we'll get decent money for him. £3m-£4m + add ons.
I think either Poldi will leave OR gnabry will go on loan.
I also think either Campbell or Sanogo will be loaned.
Not sure about Arteta and Cazorla.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ryo is injured so he won't be leaving yet

Agree0 Disagree0

Jenny you've let me down, Arteta? he's a club legend in my eyes, and cazorla still has a lot to offer. He still gets in the spain squad, admittedly that's getting easier these days, but he's still a class act

With the signing last summer of Ozil and now Sanchez, it appears that we are able to compete at the very top, signing world class players in their prime.
We need to sign a keeper, a centre back & a defensive midfield player. Hopefully, these will also be high quality signings. I'm nit sure about an extra forward, as we have many options now we have signed Sanchez & Joel Campbell proved his talent at the World Cup.

Sales will be necessary to accommodate the new signings & increase the quality of the squad. I would like to see the following depart:
Jenkinson, Djourou, Vermaelen (not the same player since his achilles ops), Flamini & Arteta.
A possible departure may be Podolski, whom I would like to retain.
We have a busy start to the campaign with the Charity Shield and CL qualifiers, as well as PL matches. With players coming back late after World Cup duty, we will need a deep, quality squad. I can't recall be so excited about a new season, since we signed Bergkamp & Platt.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

When I see how quickly people want to dispatch long serving players and Wenger and Ramsey recently - it makes me more sympathetic to NASRI, VAN PERSIE etc who got so much stick for leaving.

Thanks AW for keeping the Arsenal family together! COYG

We have been strongly linked with young Spanish RB, Javi Manquillo. Is this in addition to Debauchy or is it instead of Debauchy? The deal with Debauchy appears to have stalled, with a medical on Monday being given as the reason. I hope it is in addition to Debauchy, as we will then have two RB's and can sell Jenkinson.
We still need a back up keeper and a CB, if Vermaelen leaves. A defensive midfield player would complete the jigsaw. Since signing Sanchez our attacking options look to be sufficient, although I would like us to sign Loic Remy, but reports say we couldn't agree personal terms.
We have Giroud & Sanogo for the central role and perhaps with Sanchez having been signed, Theo Walcott may be played in his favoured central role. We have Podolski, Gnabry and the Ox, who can all play the wide attacking roles. Joel Campbell could return and add another option.
The departures will have to be sorted out, as without checking, we must be getting close to filling our foreign player quota and filling the 25 man squad.

Hi eds, with Sanchez signing do you know whether wenger will be prefer to play him on the wing and sign another striker or play Sanchez upfront?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - out wide would be the obvious choice G1, but he is a very versatile guy, so who knows..

10 Jul 2014 23:32:23
We have plenty of attacking option now with Sanchez signing, But because of this I feel Cazorla now may be left out in the cold, his best position is in central attacking midfield position but that area is now very crowded and hence why he is played left to fit him in, but with Sanchez now commanding first team action he may be the one squeezed out.

Some may say get rid of Podolski instead but I see him as better wide left competition with his natural left foot for Sanchez rather than Cazorla is. Not that I want to get rid of Cazorla I just feel something has to give.

I still think we need another big central main striker to challenge Giroud aswell though. Sonogo needs to go out on loan for me and Campbell I am not convinced about really as being a consistent enough goalscorer to at our level to challenge Giroud, yes you could play him out wide but we have better options already in those positions. So I would like another Central main striker and sell Campbell not sure if Jackson Martinez is the answer but he has a good goal scoring record.

Our front players apart from Giroud are very interchangeable and there are several formation lines up you could come up with that would be equally as strong.

Flamini is still our best Dm but would like us to get a upgrade, Arteta I will be willing to sell if another Dm comes in.

TV5 I defo. want to keep but with him being on final year its a awkward situation but the little money we would get for him the replacement would not be as good or as experienced. If he leaves our CB options are quite Limited really. Vertoghen might be good option to come in. Back up keeper also needed anybody experienced really

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - good port that ryan..

11 Jul 2014 03:09:54
We have good competition for every position. But we have only Mesut for no. 10, and only Santi can fill in effectively. Aaron, Jack and possibly Alex as box to box midfielders. Lukas, Alexis, Theo, Serge, Tomas, Joel for the front two winger positions. Olivier, Joel,Yaya for the target man. By this I sense we need a new target man and DM (Arteta and Flamini as backup).
