Sanogo picked up and injury! Oh no doom what will we do?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Bendtner to the rescue perhaps.
I am just glad Giroud is injury free after the Internationals. Kos and Mert too.

I want no mart of this Marica guy

1. Bendtner can do the job. He knows our system. He knows what Arsene expects of him. When his confidence is up, he is capable of goals. He's not the best, but he's done it before

Also, on a technical level, he's a pretty good wide player for as big as he is

He's one of ours. It is what it is. We all said and did stupid things in our teens and early 20's. He needs our support now more than ever, and with it, I think he can do the job

2. Theo can play centrally if absolutely needed. It could actually work now with a proper, world class, number 10

3. We took Chuba on tour. He performed. If we need a guy to go out and give us 15-20 mins versus the West Broms and Stokes of the world, let's give him a shot

4. Sanogo is not ready to be second choice, rather should be competing w Apkom as third choice behind Bendtner. Make him earn it, but a solid third option, maybe second by Jan

I said basically the same earlier given the chance bendtner can do the job

Agree0 Disagree0

The thing I have seen with sanogo. is the fact that he is soo raw, like at the french U20, yet he manages to pull something out of the bag and score. his finishing vision if you must is impressive for a 20 year old. but to become a great, especially at Arsenal, and even more so the EPL, he will have to pull some major tricks out of the bag.

For me the lowest benchmark is Giroud. he is a guy who I want at arsenal for his sheer will power and hard work. the highest bench mark is the legendary Henry. let him lace up girouds boots first before he can think any further.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bendtner couldn't do the job before so what has he shown on all his failed loan spells that makes you suggest otherwise? His a big time Charlie with an even bigger attitude.

We've been calling him deadwood for years and now he's capable of doing a job. we couldn't give the useless ****er away.

Agree0 Disagree0

All i'm going to say is that we always slate our players and then some show us so let's just wait and see about bendtner and if he was that bad why would juventus have signed him on loan

Agree0 Disagree0

Lakerville, perfect comment about Giroud being the floor and Henry being the pinnacle

At Arsenal, players like Giroud are necessary, as squad players

Suarez ticks every box as an Arsenal striker. I'd also love a shot at Kun if he ever became available

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes US Gooner. might have too whip out the old 52 business shirt!

I see Bendtner has changed numbers and is now listed as No23.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Must of had his wages halved

Agree0 Disagree0

Possible good news for you 89gooner, when he changed from 26 to 52 the first time around he did say he would reimburse anyone out of his own pocket who had already had the 26 shirt printed.

I imagine it cost him a fortune then, but drop him a line, you never know.

Lol. ;-)

Really hope we don't get this Marica guy, looks pretty average.

We have a big man in Giroud, a smaller lethal forward in podolski and a speed merchant in Walcott.
Remember that Walcott and Podolski are played wide, so what I think we now need is something in between.

Someone like Luis Muriel, Demba Ba, Jermain Defoe, Wayne Rooney etc. someone who is all-round gun, takes his chances and does the job whenever called upon.

Think we have a strong team this season, but it could be stronger.

Nevertheless, still stoked about Ozil.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thinking the same thing, seems like a panic buy to me because we are short up front.

if he does sign let's say a one year deal, we can be sure another striker will be bought in january or next summer. and it won't show faith, but wenger has shown a ruthless streak with the deadwood this summer apart from park and the best striker in the world, so he might be just what we need.

trying to stay positive as ever.

Agree0 Disagree0

Expect to see this kid have more game time than Mr NB52, I agree with you we should now start using Poldolski and Walcott as rotation or playing partners up front and don't be surprised to see Mr Rooney in an Arsenal shirt come the January window as I don't see Mr Moyes giving him much game time at United. Come and do for Arsenal what RVP did for United win them the Prem.

P.S Eds great job.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love to see Rooney at arsenal, but I can't see it happening, especially in January.

thank god the internationals are over they are pure pants! back to the prem! hope we carry on our form into sat s match but we do usually suffer after international breaks, what's the news on injuries did we make it unscathed?

Rosicky and Walcott both came off injured, Ramsey clattered into a pitch side hoarding but carried on playing. That's about it I think. Not heard any updates yet.

Sorry nearly forgot, Bendtner smudged his guy liner. But is hoping to be back for Pantomime season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rosicky a doubt for sunderland I think, walcott carried on playing, but then got subbed late on, so he could be carrying a knock.

could mean ozil is starting if rosicky cant.

zelalem and sanogo picked up injuries too.

What about Montoya from Barcelona. How will he fit in? Anyone know?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Less than a year on his contract, interest from arsenal, Liverpool, inter and various other clubs I think.

Looks a good player, got aggravated that he couldn't cement a starting eleven place ahead of Dani Alves so a move looks likely.

Agree0 Disagree0

Montoya is a RB. I don't really rate him. for me the same level as Jenkinson. we don't need another. we need better.

Just sign Sagna up to be backup to jenkinson and play backup CB with Verm.

im happy with the defense, the midfield, especially when the injured come back.

my only worry is the frontline. Giroud cover or better than giroud. who knows. with the signing of Ozil. I have a sneaky feeling. lewandowski is next.

Reading this morning that free agent Ciprian Marica is close to joining us. I think he would be decent back up to Giroud, better than Sanogo anyway. But I'm confused about signing him after the premier league squad has been registered, does this mean we couldn't play hime until after the january window when the squad is registered again? Ed? Anyone? {Ed013's Note - I am sure he can be registered if he was a free agent prior to the window closing, or it may even be that as long as he wasn't a Premier League player prior to the window closing. I will have to do some research on this as I am not 100% sure}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He can sign as a free agent and be included in squad.ufea rules {Ed001's Note - so long as his contract was terminated prior to the transfer window shutting, he can be signed up until some point in October or November, I forget which. After that, even free agent signings have to wait until the window reopens.}

Agree0 Disagree0

As long as a players contract expires before the 1st of july they are free to join another club at anytime regardless of the transfer window ending.
if a players contract is terminated like sissoko he can only move during the transfer window as he has been at a club for the start of the new season (july the 1st). {Ed001's Note - nothing to do with July 1st at all, they just need to have their contract terminated before the end of the previous transfer window.}

Agree0 Disagree0

He is a free agent, therefore he can be signed. Personally, I would like to see if we are able to get Bendtner fit & motivated, as he extremely similar in build & style to Giroud, so would make an ideal alternative. He was often played wide by Wenger in the past, but would look far better in the centre.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok ed that's what I was told

I really think that the signing of flamini will be the best thing that has happened to us in a long time. The man is the poster boy for unsung heros in a team.He has bags of experience now and is an improved player from what I see, but that's not a lot of time to judge him on.You can see the organization he has on the field, shouting, waving, pointing players all about. we haven't had that in a long time,,, trust me lads, he will be the catalyst for a successful season for us, yes wait for it . a trophy(and I don't care which one, I, ll take any at this stage). And of course mr ozil. world class. Sign a few in jan Arsene. we shall now see some bigger names interested in the privilege to wear the glorious Arsenal jersey.

Hey Eds, just wanted to give a big thanks for all the hard work during the transfer window. It's always fun seeing what you and other people think.
