Hi, any signs of Arsene rekindling his interest in signing Draxler and turning him into a striker as he did with Henry and RVP? Also CB wise could Kompany be avaliable as he is injury prone and Guardiola doesn't seem to have patience with these sorts of players.

I also thought I remember reading a quote from Wenger just before Kompany signed for City saying that we would not be looking to sign him at that point in time.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

13 Jun 2016 06:35:59
I can't see us signing either of these two players. In respect of Draxler, we have too many opticians already in his position. If Kompant is fit, I'm sure City will keep him. If he is not fit and he hasn't been for a long while, then we would be best to avoid him.
Realistically, unless top players become available in other positions, we appear to be after: A forward and a defender, probably a FB or a CB that can cover at FB. That would concur with Wenger's statement that we are looking to sign 3 players and having signed Xhakka already, this seems probable.
However, if Ospina or Gibbs were to depart, then we would clearly need replacements.

Ed do you think Pjanic will be Pogba's replacement at Juventus or is it likely Pigba will stay?

Sorry ed just interested.

13 Jun 2016 03:49:40
I would say he was going there either way MissingMesut. They won't want to lose Pogba but with money city, united and real can throw around anything is possible. i would love to watch him in the premier league whoever he plays for, even as an Arsenal fan.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Jun 2016 16:56:31
Yeah me too partyrash. Would love to see him in a united or a city shirt running around and destroying us. Would make my day even as an arsenal fan.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2016 19:16:27
Yes as 1 player is enough to ruin any Arsenal team. Forgot Arsenal fans are scared to face quality players. Players like Zidane were worth the entrance fee alone to watch play. Smile once in a while and enjoy the quality players you get to see. It's game to enjoy. We beat real Madrid with Zidane, Ronaldo, Carlos, Beckham, Robbino but you're probably right Pogba would mean we automatically lose.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2016 19:51:31
It would certainly help mate. But I would cope with that just to watch him play. I would even consider becoming a fan of whoever he plays for should he come to England! I think he's that great. I'm with you all the way mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2016 20:15:17
i'm not even sure that makes sense but whatever floats your boat. Sound like City or Chelsea fan.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2016 22:15:22
Lol I'd rather pogba sign for real Madrid than any other English team. As far as I'm concerned all the decent players should come to us and the rubbish go to everyone else.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2016 23:49:13
Ha premier league is different kettle of fish. Look at Shevchenko, Di Maria, Veron. Big names don't make you winners. Leicester showed us that. Players with determination and passion worry me more than players with high values.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2016 18:26:04
Yes he is a gooner, the spurs sports fans are a lot tougher like Chris Eubank and Barry mCguigan.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2016 22:16:49
Anthony Joshua is a gooner. Get him in a ring with eubank, Barry and kane at the same time and he'd come out on top. Only skanks support spurs!

Believable0 Unbelievable2

12 Jun 2016 14:07:01
Quite frankly an England team with half the outfield team from failures Tootenham, are hardly likely to do well.
Hodgson should have gone after our dismal world cu performance. The qualification group for the Euros wasn't strong, but as soon as we arrive at the Finals we falter, I can't see us beating any of the big boys.
How many of the first eleven yesterday, would we prefer to our first eleven?
England with Chambers, Gibbs, Wilshere, Walcott, Oxlade and Welbeck, would be far better!

Believable4 Unbelievable3

12 Jun 2016 17:10:05
Chambers and Gibbs lmao, what next R. G. Wilshire better than hoddle, parlour better Tha gazza lol. Did you notice it was a spurs player that scored . So some of those players should play instead of alli, dier Kane leave it there mate you just sound jealous.

Agree1 Disagree4

12 Jun 2016 19:35:14
Raver
and one at fault for the goal, Diddy Danny rose
And the fans are turning on Kane . Radio five, they didn't half give kane a slatting.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 20:04:27
Let's talk about Kane Thursday Welsh, he may be a spud in the regular season but right now he's an England player and a very good one at that, Ali and went bad Dier either and Rose and Walker? Wales should be so lucky mate :-)
You've got a great team spirit and Gareth Bale plus Aaron and Ashley Williams backed up by some hard working players enjoying their moment in Welsh footballing history.
This is not Arsenal v Spurs this is England v Wales or if you like George and the Dragon :-)

Agree1 Disagree1

12 Jun 2016 20:25:26
Rose and Walker looked excellent I thought, and have done every time I've watched them

Dier played well

Ali and Kane a tad quiet but we know they have ability.

12 Jun 2016 20:26:21
Welsh that's a daft comment about the goal

The fault was with Milner.

12 Jun 2016 20:38:15
But what about the full time score Banbury? Are you expecting us to sit back in the second half mate :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 20:58:52
Gunner62 talking sense yet again and isn't one sided, I thought alli, dier and the full backs were excellent. Yes Kane did have a quiet game and one thing I didn't understand is why he was taking corners. Welshgooner I'm also half welsh myself and I have been to watch Wales play many of times.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 22:18:30
Raver mate the nice thing about international tournaments is we are all able to come together for the summer and support the same team for a change, if England fielded 11 Spurs players I'd still want them to win the Euros and the world cup every time they come around because for me they would be 11 English players representing our country and that's good enough for me mate.

Agree1 Disagree1

13 Jun 2016 04:01:09
Players at the top international teams in Euros, have a core of players from the top European clubs teams, whilst half our outfield players against Russia were from the Toot, failures. That explains all.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Jun 2016 07:24:31
While Chambers Gibbs and Theo weren't even considered good enough to make the squad? Says even more.

Agree0 Disagree1

13 Jun 2016 09:35:55
G62 - Many of Spain's national team are selected from Barca, Athletico and Real. Germany's from Bayern and Dortmundt. England's from the Toot! Says everything.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2016 09:59:52
What about Belgium then R. G., they are ranked 2nd un the world and have vertonghen, alderwereld, chadli, dembelele from spurs. I suppose they are poor too.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2016 10:20:55
But surely RG the fact that England are so poor they need to pick Spurs players but not so awful as they need to use our English players says more about how poor players than Spurs.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2016 11:00:36

PLEASE POST THIS IN BANTER EDS.
Good morning all and Eds.
A bit about the Euros.
What a discrace it is and a complete insult to all the decent football supporters and for football itself when you read and watch the unbelievable goings on out in France.
My friend and I have 2 tickets for the Slovakia game on Monday and have the flights paid for, the hotel paid for and we' were looking forward to 3 nice days out there in the sun ( hopefully) and being able to watch and to be part of a major football tournament.
For me and millions of decent football fans this tournament is now a shambles. The violence has overshadowed the games in just three days.
I would be quite happy to see this tournament being cancelled now and why not?
For me it's been ruined.
What's it coming to when you can't go abroad sit down outside in the sunshine enjoy a beer see the sites and watch your favourite sport without fearing that some MUG is not going to put a bottle, chair or worse over your head.
You would have thought what with everything France has endured especially the tragedies in Paris recently people would have had more respect for the country.
I personally am ashamed when I watch so called England supporters acting like filthy animals. Please don't tell me so called England supporters were not instigating this too.
Thanks for allowing me to hopefully post this Eds. I know you guys are decent people and feel exactly the same .

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - i certainly agree lanesra, and while i think the russian supporters were just as bad if not worse i find it pathetic that what should be a celebration of football has deteriorated into mindless violence by knuckle dragging morons ruining it for the decent supporters, what you have to remember though is these idiots have nothing to do with football, they are just yobs who are using the game as a vehicle to spread hate and disruption and the sad thing is that its the norm now and i expected nothing less mate..

12 Jun 2016 09:10:15
If it was only embarrassing it would be bad enough but with all the French authorities have to deal with already trying to keep people safe its even more mindless than its ever been.
I'm not there so I don't know but from much what I've seen and heard this is not just an English problem it seems the Russian fans are the main aggressors and some French fans too have actively looked to provoke trouble.
I'm not sure if all 3 nations should be thrown out but if so there can be no complaints but no more than we should belittle our things part in this we shouldn't be made the scapegoat either.
I don't see how we can even contemplate taking part in the 2018 world cup I personally think we should withdraw today from that tournament.

Agree2 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 09:26:34
Ed025 and Gumner62.
You are both spot on.
With all this mindless violence going on it has got to have affected and drained the resources from what was supposed to have been the real security issues before the tournament started.
Therefore because of this added pressure for the authorities and the danger it could cause in these troubled times I for one agree that any country that has its supporters (I hate saying that because they are animals) proven to be involved should have their team thrown out.
Few spooling it for the majority? Yes but you have to make a stand.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - the terrorists are taking some time off lanesra, football supporters are doing their job for them..its very sad..

12 Jun 2016 09:28:23
I think everyone that uses this excellent site and truly loves their football should probably make this the most important post they have ever done.

Let's hope now the English and Russian fans are separated by fixtures all things football will make the headlines from now on.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 11:04:33
The English fans have been fighting with French locals since Thursday with no Russians involved.

If any penalisation happens it should be against both England and Russia.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 13:58:10
Another point.
What' is UEFAs fines going to do tell me that?
It's not coming out of these animals pockets! .
What UEFA should be doing is banning the countries from the next EUROS in 2020 and throwing them out of this one.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The matter will be discussed in Athens during SEptember and you may see something coming out after that - but keep in mind that UEFAs remit is limited to what happens at teh games not on the streets of Marseille. The FAs are responsible for the bahaviour of the fans at International matches.}

12 Jun 2016 15:18:29
Ed002.
Yes I got that . But I think UEFA should get real. If they want to police it let them use some common sense.
What they are saying is so ridiculous it's like the police making a statement like .
" The assaults and stabbings happened in somebody's private home. Even though somebody's fighting for their life there nothing we can do . Now if it had happened on the street we could have arrested them! "
You know where I'm coming from ED002?
By the way I'm sorry about banging on about this but I'm so infuriated with these going a on mate I feel I need to air my frustration somewhere so I apologise.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - UEFA are not responsible for policing the games Lanesra - aside from not being in their remit the do not have the staff or orgaization to do that. And what happens in regards to policing outside of the games is the responsibility of the local authorities and the police - and the police may well be supported by the Army for future games invoving a number of sides. UEFA's responsibilities and power to impose sanctions rests very much with what happens inside the stadium but they can look to the behaviour of the fans and could potentially throw Russia and England out of the tournament - but that would be fraught with issues - although both FAs have been made aware of that by UEFA. Right now there will be charges against Russia, the FA will be picking up the tab for damage to the stadium and there may well be separate charges against England over a couple of matters. This season has not been a good one for football fans with charges against both international and club sides - and British clubs were the worst. Going forward you might see some games having to be played behaind closed doors - that has already happened to Ukraine this season. If there are further serious problems in this tournament with the English and Russian fans there will be pressure to take serious action. And certainly one English side is close to the thin ice as far as UEFA and discipline is concerned.}

12 Jun 2016 07:00:02

I see you quoting some of you great
English players (a credit to your country)
But we where buying future World Cup winners

I'm going to help you out sweet fa like your beloved Spurs .
Like
England and Wales, Arsenal and Spurs are the same. England have greater fund and are a massive club compared to us (but I was born in Wales, pure Welsh. ) so I have know choice, but you chose little back alley club like Spurs over arsenal,
Every country needs a Spurs, because with out you, know one will see how good we are.
