Maybe its just me but i'm not a huge fan of "the Ox".
I feel he drifts in and out of games and does not contribute a lot. Sure, he's young and still learning his trade and is in and out of the team more than a politician in a late night brothel, which is not good for his confidence, and I feel he plays a lot better for England than Arsenal.
I'm sure many of you will disagree and have a go at me lol. Am I wrong about the Ox?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree with you but I feel he's still trying to find his natural position, whether it's a winger or attacking mid. At the moment, he has been playing better for England because he brings a burst of speed in their midfield, which is useful for a direct playing team like England. Arsenal possesses more around the box so his talents aren't displayed as well for us so-to-speak. I'm sure as he matures and plays more for Arsenal, he'll discover how to use his talents more effectively, especially on our counterattacks. Because our midfield has so much depth, his preferred position of attacking mid doesn't seem like his future. Personally, I prefer him as a winger but I have a gut feeling it'll take him a few years to earn a starting spot.

Agree0 Disagree0

I felt he looked most effective on the right wing. Bearing in mind we don't have many natural wide players, I was surprised when he was moved into the middle.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm with you too on this Dagenham. I'm not convinced with him now. I know he has been out injured etc. But I feel that the team has out grown him rapidly. Maybe he needs to go out on loan to mature a bit. What do you reckon.

Agree0 Disagree0

Very good points boys. Goldboy, I totally agree, there's nothing wrong with loaning a "fringe" player out on loan, it can do wonders for their confidence and learning and make them a better player. Look at Bendtner for example, oh wait(smiles)

i have a question

if a player was bought in the summer transfer window can you buy the player in the winter transfer or do you have to wait a season? {Ed002's Note - A player may play for two clubs in a season only - so it depends.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Edison Cavani joined PSG in summer and could be shipped out in January window. I guess as long as the 2 clubs and the player agree to a jan move than it can be done. {Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard cavani is unhappy at psg and wants out not sure if its a rumour though but he would be a striker that arsenal need

Agree0 Disagree0

He's a striker any team would need. I rate him higher than Falcao

Way too confident about now till end of dec. with our two highest paid players out, how on earth are we doing so well?
When the ox gets back as well as podolski and walcott, we'll be unhtoppable, providing that the defence is solid.

Remember that this is a side with a currently not very well off wilshere, a cazorla who hasn't even started scoring, and a giroud who, like the rest of the squad, should be critically recovered during the break and back as equally unstoppable. Really confident!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not very well of?? He a mutil millionere by now so I don't feel too sorry for him, no player in football is worth over 20,000 a week it's a joke soon not even the working class can afford tickets, I get paid ok and can't afford to go to more than 10 games a season and with bt as well as sky pumping more and more money into the game (897 million for champs leg) it's going to get worse before it's better. I told sky and bt to pee of will be streaming my football from now on the greedy persons

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said Spanner.! Absolutely 100% right. It won't be long before Sky will be a rich mans luxury. But I can see the day coming where you will be able to subscribe to watch the team of your choice. For e.g you will be able to subscribe to Arsenal games and watch those be it 3 o clock kick off or not and watch it live. I really believe this is what will happen as Sky and the rest will soon realise that eventually people will be unsubscribing the way it is at the moment .

Agree0 Disagree0

Goldboy, that is such a good idea.

Agree0 Disagree0

A tenner a game? Or would sky want£100 and tell you to invite friends round.
The world is totally unbalanced financially and football is one of the prime examples of it.
The game is out of reach for most families and sooner or later people will turn to less expensive sports.
Shame because its the working man's game hijacked by billionaires

Agree0 Disagree0

G62, heres a shocker for you.
Roberto di Matteo got sacked by Chelsea approx 12 months ago and is still being paid £130,000 per week and will continue to get paid this amount until may 2014 by Chelsea, or until he finds employment. blooming joke.

Agree0 Disagree0

G62, its not a game anymore my friend, and there lies the problem.

Anyone else noticed Malaga and Wengerism both disappeared the day after the window shut? Also they never posted at the same time? Or replied to each others posts? Could it be they are one and the same?????
The plot thickens

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The plot is getting positively think as porridge.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol funny enough my name is charlie lol.
thank you G62, touche to you too

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol dg, the plot thickens

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

This is crazy G62, or shall we call you frank? lol and if you are Frank can I be betty plz?

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

Malaga admitted he was Charlie last year, actually he went as far as to issue an apology for wasting everyones time due to 'boredom'. then the next transfer window he was back to his best b/s!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, with Dortmund revealing Reus having a release clause in his contract, can you see interest in him increasing and becoming more serious? As in a club actually looking to pay the release clause.
Would love arsenal to sign him, perfect replacement for rosicky. Thanks {Ed002's Note - This news is more than a year old - just ignore it as it will do nothing but confuse yoy.}

For a bit of fun who do you think will finish top four, in what positions and why?

1. Arsenal - a real quality starting 11 with a good bench and some likely additions in January. We need everyone fit and firing and I'd give up the FA and UCL for the title.

2. Man City - Not yet playing at their best, will have Kompany back soon and with their quality it maybe you could swap us with them. They will be the team to beat.

3. I'm sure they will come good, they can splash cash in January if they want to. JM just needs to sort his best 11 and they will be there or there about.

4. Difficult as United under normal circumstances would be a gimme. They have to start playing some quality football as on their current form I don't think they'll cut it and still big doubts about Moyes. January additions could change that, I'm sure they will dip in the market.

I'm going to add that Southampton could spoil the party for one of Chelsea or United. They will have no real distractions and have the quality and playing style to test the best. Next game against them will be a toughie.

Agree0 Disagree0

Top
Us because we have points on the board and will get better and stronger as the season goes by.
Second
Chelski although they have problems I think they will be able to come we the CL and PL better than most.
Third
UTD I think they will improve and get stronger once Moyes. Outs a few in Jan to show he is there to stay and the team will respond to him more.
Fourth
City closely followed by both Liverpool and Spurs but will clinch a CL place as a consolation prize due to difficulty coping with both CL progression and PL demands

In my opinion, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool will finish top 3. With City, United and Spurs the next three. Southampton and Everton pushing it close for 7th and 8th.

Itll be very interesting to see who out of the top 6 finishes outside top 4. I hope its United and Spurs obviously. Would love to ser RVP in europa league. They have a CB pairing in decline, lack quality wingers and a CM.

Spurs may have a better squad, but Bale is irreplaceable. Vs Everton and Newcastle he would got the goal they desperatly needed. Soldado isn't exactly prolific in the PL either. If they sign Pato or Llorente i'd be kinda worried.

As for City, god knows what's wrong with them. I tipper them to win league in early august. Just shows what I know.

1.) Chelsea
2.) Arsenal
3.) Liverpool
4.) City
---------------
5.) United
6.) Spurs
7.) Everton

Thats my prediction anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

Well i'm always a little bit pessimistic, so here goes.
1) Chelsea, apart from the fact they have a very good team they also get a lot of luck.
2) Arsenal, very good team, not much luck.
3) Liverpool, Suarez's last season so hope they qualify for CL.
4) Man City, money can buy you anything, but not a place in the top 3.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey this is fine by me guys, u keep writing us off, come may we will be there or there abouts!
U tip city who are now 7th or 8th to finish above us! Liverpool will not finish in top 4! If u finish top i'd be surprised to say the least, this is not a dig just my opinions.
I do however think top 3 is very hard to call, with us you and chelsea fighting it out, we are coming lads and will gain consistentcy soon and in jan with a couple of shrewd signing might pip u all to the title, but it is way to soon to predict yet!
I love your guys optimism and honestly do hope u have a good season however I feel some, not all are getting a wee bit ahead of yourselves, come end of jan we will have a far better idea.
Gd luck

As usual, Man U have started pulling players out of the internationals. RVP, Welbeck & Carrick to date, possibly others. Its time we learnt to do this and give Giroud, Ozil, etc a well deserved rest.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think ozil and mert have remained at arsenal for the international break, both are suffering from illness.
Ozil was also ill during the Man United match but felt he could play, gnabry and arteta also had the same bug.
Also heard England have changed training grounds as the bug is spreading.

Although I'm disappointed with the result from sunday I still believe we are capable of winning the league . I think if we stay consistent in picking up wins against the lower table teams we will be in the mix come end of season . The head to heads with our rivals will not count as much this year . As we have seen so far, the big teams are taking points off each other, with no clear indication of any of them going on a long unbeaten run of form . This is my reasoning anyway, one that gives me hope for a successful season .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree, it was only one game at the end of a hard run of games in 1 week and to be honest the loss was harsh in a way as neither side did enough to really say they dominated enough to win it.
0-0 would have been the fair score really.

We are still clear at the top and maybe this International break is actually good timing for players like Ozil to take a lttle rest.

I see nothing in Manchester United to say they are any better than us they will lose more games I feel and rely too much on Rooney, although you can never discount their experience.

Chelsea and Man City seem hopelessley inconsistant at the moment. Our biggest challenge could come from Liverpool

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with you both, after all this is only our second defeat in the prem this term and after that horrible season onpener who would have thought we would have bee so dominant. I still feel that we need cover up front you can see Mr Ozil & Giroud look tired, thank god for international breaks. I proablably get a bit of stick for this next statement but here goes Theo back soon why not let him show us all what he was bragging about last season rest Giroud and play Theo there or even Mr Ramsey with have more than enough depth in midfield so why not exploit it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolutely, but we must get our injured players back & rotate, as some players are looking a little jaded, as of late. We must also sign a tall comanding right-sided defended to cover/rotate with Mertesacker, as Vermaelen & Kosciielny are both far better on the left hand side of the centre back pairing. We also need to sign a forward, as Bendtner looks woeful.

Agree0 Disagree0

There are 30 points available against our biggest rivals and 84 against so called smaller teams not hard to see where not slipping up is the name of the game and points in big games are bonuses

All this talk about buying benzema in January, I would prefer us to buy Loic Remy as he is more mobile and would be half the price.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree, I can't say i'm a huge fan of Benzema. Similarly, I was nervous when we in for Higuain. Remy or Ba might be better options.

Just a final word on yesterdays game.
Full credit to all the Manchester United and Arsenal supporters for observing an impeccable minutes silence at the start of yesterdays game.
a lot of bad press is given to supporters, some rightly so, so respect to those who paid tribute to all of our soldiers who bravely gave their lives fighting for our country. RESPECT.

Just for fun.
If you was Arsenal manager would you have done anything different in the first 11 games, eg, team selection/formation?
Also, what would you do in the next few games, eg, Theo and the Pod are back, would you stick them in the team?, if yes, at who's expense, or would you slowly dripfeed them back into games?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I would have kept all of our formations and players the same in every game, except I would have put Ramsey at CM for every game. If both Arteta and Flamini are available, it would be at Arteta's expense. On right attacking mid, I would rather put Rosicky, Wilshere, or even Gnabry.

As for Theo and Podolski, I would use them as subs for the first game or first couple games. I don't feel it's right to remove Rosicky and his recent form from the starting lineup, and Santi hasn't been playing bad either. I would, however, like to use Walcott or Podolski as a sub for their first game back. From a managerial perspective, if Walcott or Podolski do well as a sub, this would give me a reason to start one of them for the next game and hopefully, avoids lowering Rosicky's or Santi's confidence too much.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would rest Ozil v Southampton simply because its been 150 miles an hour for him since deadline day, moving country, adjusting to new club, league, playing in some massive games and fitting in the Germany games too the bloke deserves a one game breather.
I would bring in Jack as he has become a sub and quite rightly so but should be more than that and needs to show why.
I would also start Theo and rest Arteta plus bring back Mert or thought I thought Varmullen did well but saints are dangerous band we need to be close to our best to get3 Pts

Agree0 Disagree0

Without Walcott we lack that bit of pure pace threat so for me he is a starter. Basically we have lots of quality in midfield but it all with the same type of players and that is Wenger's problem in fitting in everbody is is playing players out of position. For some reason Wenger does not like any natural wide players.

Although You may think that is silly leaving out Ozil and Cazorla out but for me that team overall is better balanced as Ramsey and Wilshire having both better energy in terms of getting up and down the pitch than Ozil and Cazorla and are more physical but still have creative qualities and drive the team forward more from those central area's. You sacrifice some passing creativity but you gain more in penatration and drive.

Flamini is our closet to a proper stay at Home DM better than Arteta in that role.

Podolski gives better balance out left because he is a left footer and does not come inside all the time. Walcott is needed for his pace threat.

Dot get me wrong Ozil is a quality player and I do not blame Wenger for taking that opportunity to buy him but did we really need him. Is is to the determent to the team overall that we are trying to fit all these central midfielders into our side {Ed002's Note - You need to sign in.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't think of any game where I would pick Ramsey to play out wide. Against man u I would have had Ramsey next to Arteta or Flamini. Also while Walcott has been out we've lacked serious pace, so I would have played Gnabry more often. He's impressed me every time I've seen him.
