Terrible news.
Thoughts go to his family.

After the break, we should have Ox, Bellerin and Ramsey back, which will enable us to give a rest to players who are running the risk of injury. Shortly after these two return we should have Walcott back, followed in the new year by Rosicky, Welbeck and Wilshere.
In the forthcoming transfer window, we should try our best to sign a defensive midfield player to compliment Coquelin and let either Flamini or Arteta leave.
In the summer window, we should certainly consider replacing some of the following players; Ospina, Debuchy, Mertesacker, Arteta, Flamini, Rosicky and Campbell.

That's a perfect assessment RG69. In short we are still in the mix on half power! When the boys get back we will be in the grove again. I'm even looking forward to having welbeck back and I also think the little maestro rosicky can make a difference on his day. A CDM would be great and does anyone know how William carvalho is getting on. That would be perfect .

{Ed002's Note - There is sustained interest in Carvalho from Arsenal with some residual interest from Manchester United. Monaco, Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Chelsea passed on previous interest because of the cost. Sporting would ideally like to keep him a year or two more but know that is now unlikely. Everyone knows the price and it is significant and there seems little room for negotiation although he is not looking to sign a new deal and that may give some leverage.}

12 Nov 2015 11:37:39
Do you know what ed your a mind reader I was going to pop over the rumours page and ask you that very question . Would be a perfect signing if we could prise him in January. Like a big steroid shot in the Arsenal.

Ed,
I read somewhere (not Twitter) , that Joel Campbell could be a possible 'makeweight' in any deal involving Arsenal and Sporting for Carvalho.
Do you know if this is true?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any such suggestion. Also Sporting have a lot of forwards already.}

12 Nov 2015 12:25:28
Is he fully fit and back playing now Ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - He is back and has been called in to the International squad.}

12 Nov 2015 12:27:53
Grow,
I knew you was going to say that.
Does that make me a mind reader of mind readers or just a mega mind reader?

12 Nov 2015 12:54:16
To be fair dags in my mind I knew I bet dags is thinking what is browgun thinking and is he thinking the very same thing that growbun is thinking. Funny old world 🤔.

Realists, pessimists, fetishishts, non believers, believers, predictors, dreamers and now mind readers, has there ever been a more eclectic variety of people on one page. ;-)

Well we support a superior football team who play a superior brand of football so it goes without saying that we are a superior group of supporters with very special abilities and have very deep and diverse conversations.

Red,
I think 'eclectic' is the best way to describe us.

Touche Grow.

Thanks Ed, appreciate it.

Still unsure if he would hack the prems pace. Close to a new deal they say but his release clause will remain at 45mill Euros.

Looks like a strong atheltic lop of a man to me Derby . And he's better looking than Kevin Wesley de bryune.

12 Nov 2015 19:20:31
I agree with all the above - eclectic is Cut Up Nice and Thin.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Nov 2015 23:31:34
He's strong growbun but he does like the play at his own pace and have time to pick a pass. The prem isn't like that. When he trys to turn and run back he's quite slow turning.

I'd prefer krychowaik but if not carvalho. But as iv said before with mendes as his agent I see him moving elsewhere.

With most of the players back fit and competing, when will Arsenal have their annual run where they bomb out of all competitions?

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2015 16:31:12
Probably around the same time Spurs have their 23 year long annual run of finishing behind us. I might go and give some Barcelona or real fans some crap and then at least I will realise how daft you are when I try and big Arsenal up next to them, same difference.

Come on now Growbun, Spurs? I am not from the dark side although I have nothing to shout about at the moment (United fan) but it was a good comeback nevertheless.

So, What do we do with Ramsey to get him scoring goals again?

As Derby asked earlier, do we put him back in the middle in place of Cazorla?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

12 Nov 2015 11:26:48
He will move there when cazorla calls it a day. He has time on his side.

I posted it earlier, but Wenger is the one who encouraged Ramsey to shoot less and therefore score less as he wanted him to work on playing as a team so that goals are distributed around the midfielders and attackers, as opposed to relying on his 20 goals a season.

bonkers if true perfect goal. its like chelsea saying to lampard ok we need to spread the goals around wtf.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Nov 2015 12:06:05
That was my thinking too Grow.

If Bouldy calls it a day, you and I are in the running for Arsene's assistant :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Nov 2015 12:38:04
Yes it is weird, but Lampard isn't as injury prone to be fair. Ramsey's purple patch was amazing but when he had three months off many people believe it castrated the team as an attacking force. Especially because we were using Giroud back then who likes to hold up play and often ends up behind the midfielders/wingers.

Wenger predicted in 2012 that once Ramsey starts scoring, he won't stop. I think that's true once again, when he bags a couple goals this season he'll be back on it.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Nov 2015 14:35:46
Some times you have to go with what works and albeit Ramsey doesn't like playing out right, points and form show it works, Ramsey is still getting the chances but he is just not putting them away.

I read that Wenger was telling him to let it happen instead of forcing it to happen and Ramsey needs to do that again. He has so much energy he is everywhere and will have chances.

I can see him sliding into Cazorla's spot but Ramsey has also spoken of a desire to play in Spain so there is no long term guarantee he will still be here.

You have too say it looks promising for them, but in the grand scheme of things they will be just keeping it warm for Chelsea! I can't see Spurs becoming a regular feature in the top four.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Nov 2015 10:05:49
I think over the years, Southampton have been a selling club, purely to balance the books.

What with the new TV mega money on the horizon, Southampton will be able to keep hold of their 'Crown Jewels', thus enabling them to (possibly) break into the top 4.

On a personal note, I think most football supporters have a lot of respect for Southampton FC.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Nov 2015 10:13:51
Yes Dags, great example of how a club should be run if you ask me, and their attitude helped them to get out of crisis and back into the PL.

(Up until now atleast, I've just seen the new article posted above which suggests they may have abandoned their principles) .

12 Nov 2015 10:58:49

Abandoning their principles or purely going with the changing face of football?

Yes Growbun, it's a shame Portsmouth went the other way.

And fair point Dags, I am still yet to read the article.
