Our defence makes any forward look good Bambam.

Teams who sit back and try to settle for a point are OK for us as are most who try and go toe to toe with us but most who do their home work and have a decent game plan the players stick to against us get a favourable result, West Ham home and away Southampton home and away Swansea Chelsea Watford in the cup Olympiacos Zargreb even Liverpool who were struggling big time under Brendan Rogers came to the Emerirates with a plan that for 45 minutes ran through our defence for fun.
We just don't pay other teams the same respect they pay us which is why we come unstuck so often in games in we're expected to win.

This season we have lost 14 points from winning positions, 3rd highest in the league. What does that indicate? A sold centre half and centre mid to get us to the finish line in matches? We have created 77 CLEAR cut chances this year - 15 more than any other team. But we have missed 61. A clinical striker to lead the line?
We need to invest in a centre half, another centre mid (as they always get injured) and a very decent forward if we want to compete next year, all we can hope is Wenger pulls out his pocket this summer.

I'd say priority a CB and cf. on top of that a left back although monreal had had a good season it's an area we could improve. Cm would be nice as well.

we all know what we need. remember henry said he needs a spine and cech was just one part of it? fans slated him and said he's wrong. well guess what he wasn't.

Ed, I want to know. Why Wenger just bought Cech and Elneny.?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - probably because thats all he thought he needed andy, as its turned out if he had been a bit braver and bought a world class striker and a CB i think the league was there for the taking..

13 Apr 2016 10:34:31
because he's arrogant and if he buys the players we all know he needs then the title won't be the same for him. wants to prove people wrong. but he wont.

Seeing a few of your replies Derby it's obvious you want him not. Not disagreeing but out of interest if you was in charge right now who would you go for to replace him. Because for me Arsene consistently gets us into the champions league. So who out there can at least do that and do better.

From a fan's point of view, the only reason we play a tournament is to win it or rather try to win it. For me UCL has 3 implications:

Extra revenue for the club which ends up in the board's pockets

Qualification into the second round after brilliant performances in first three matches of first round and then a string of sub-par performances were we eventually scrape through in second place in the group

Certainty of elimination in round of 16

The consistency with which this happens season in season out is shocking so forgive me for having faith in a manager eho is stuck in third gear on the highway.

I suggest we try something new. Arsene was unknown when he came in and has been a success. So throwing the same caution to the wind, we might be able to find the next manager to put us into travelling gear.

I worry they will try and find another Arsene and completely mess it up with someone too inexperienced and bad.

Id take Diego someone and usmanov. Only way forward I'm afraid mate. i'd of taken klopp but its to late now

Please stop making out there is no one out there. People said the same about player. People didn't rate greizmann we could of took him and gave them vela.

If you told me keep Wenger for another 10yrs no title but ul get champs league always would I say OK let him stay. No. I play to win.

If there really is no one else better to replace Wenger why is it we aren't winning the league every year?
Completely ridiculous to assume we can't get someone better, we need drive from the manager as in all honesty the squad with a few additions is good enough, unfortunately I have no faith in Wenger getting those players or managing them to a title or champions league semi let alone win that.

Sorry guys I think you misunderstood me. I'm not saying there is no better. There's many. Just worries me they'll try and go for another Arsene type. Unknown and a risk and it might backfire. I saw one of the eds say arsene was recommending garde. That would've been a poor choice. for me I would've wanted klopp.

D16 wether wenger goes tomorrow or when he is 80 we still have to replace him, I don't understand all this, i'm worried thing. he's not a super demi god, like someone said, if he's that good why are we getting beaten in the league every year and failing in the knock out stages of the cl every year. he's easily replaceable. And its inevitable he's got to be replaced.

this season we have lost against swansea, southampton, west ham, chelsea, west brom and utd. i've only looked at the gaems in 2015 that we've lost. in all of them we've had more possesions, more shots then the other team. what this tells us is we do not take our chances. a quick google search tells me that last season griezman was the most prolific striker in terms of chances converted last season, sign him. we are five losses turned wins off the title this season. if we had a prolific goalscorer we would have won the league.

I definitely agree with your overall point saint! However, while I'm not disputing your statistics, I don't think the solution is as black and white as that since there are all sorts of factors to consider - one being quality of weekly opposition. You highlight a certain problem with Arsenal but whilst I'd be over the moon with Griezmann, there are a few other strikers I'd prefer ahead of him.

Greizmann isn't a striker and also Wenger didn't want to spend 22mill on him be won't spend 50mill now or whatever itl be. At least double.

Com'on city and in particular Pelgrini, I'd absolutely love to see him lift the champions league trophy despite being sacked before the season even began simply because he wasnt Pep Gardiola.
I've never met the man so don't know but he comes across as a really decent man, 2015/ 16, Raneiri and Pelgrini the season the hard done by good guys came out on top? Hope so.
