Disappointed, but overall a point at Anfield is decent.

We pushed and pressed Liverpool when we were behind, but once we gained the advantage, we took our foot off the pedal and dropped back. Why?

Credit to Giroud and Campbell. Walcott and Ozil were poor.

And why did Mertesacker turn his back on Joe Allen when he was about to pull the trigger?
Take one for the team mate, like John Terry use to do all the time.

13 Jan 2016 23:52:06
I mentioned the other day about Walcott, people moan about Giroud but is Theo actually setting games alight?

'pools second goal was stunning, not a lot you can do about that, I would question Cech though over the other two. could he have done better?

I'd have settled for a point before the game but when you are 3-2 up so late in the day. you expect to win.

Just to say. were Liverpool 'That' depleated.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jan 2016 23:56:05
Defenders who turn their backs are not defenders. What has gabriel done wrong even arteritis gets on before him ( guess who ) yes you gotcit dags.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jan 2016 23:56:49
Not arthritis dags, the answer.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2016 05:43:54
Banbury when you have kolo toure in defence you are depleated. They aren't the best liverpool team of recent times, without skirtl coutinho sturridge etc they were supposed to be toothless.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2016 08:33:28
Arthritis. love that :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2016 09:10:00
Theo is a liability when things don't go his way. He gave possession away dribbling out of his own box for the second goal.

Serious case for dropping him and playing Campbell when sanchez is back?

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Jan 2016 10:04:05
Welcott didn't have a good game and ozil didn't had the support needed behind him. With liverpool injury crises I thought we would score that many goals and maybe more but our defence let us down, if you look at paper they had no threat going forward but we made it hard for ourselves.
Per did well but he always somehow manages to mess things up.
The ox made somw bad decisions and introducing artita wasn't the right decision, I thought I could have been better using gabrial or chambers instead of gibbs and artita, so I completely agree with steve here.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2016 10:08:47
With Gabs i just think you don't want too many defenders on the pitch, so the call i feel was right.

Agree0 Disagree2

14 Jan 2016 10:51:01
Banbury Gooner. yes we were very depleted .
Great game though. Football played the way it should be.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2016 12:40:02
Mystifier we were so deep that it would have been better with a defender on the pitch, last few min if a team is behind inevability at any level teams are going to put balls into the box and cause mayhem so you want big strong headers of the ball on the filed and arteta is not one of those. Liverpool threw a defender upto and we put a ageing small midfielder playing deep on. it was 100% the wrong decision.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Jan 2016 22:35:03
Arteta is the last man id like to see on the pitch rather play Gabriel, I knew Liverpool would score we needed to be more organised only positive is city drawled and Spurs lost.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

14 Jan 2016 04:39:41
Agreed imired. Loyalty to arteta is not going about things in the right way.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Jan 2016 12:43:52
Agree and disagree with you on this one steve, I am glad we are showing loyalty to arteta, far to many players turn thier backs and we are the first to moan about no loyalty from players so I am gald to give some to him, i think he will be a good coach and by all accounts he is good to have around the dressing room.

However i agree that its good to have him around the club, that loyalty should not be to the detriment to the team on the pitch and gab should have come on over him last night. there was nothing that he could add value at that point.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jan 2016 22:09:41
Would have taken the draw before the game, awesome game to watch, Giroud and Joel Campbell were immense. We'll learn a lot from this, I still this we have Sanchez to come back and we can win the title. Believe:)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

13 Jan 2016 22:30:26
A depleated pool, a goal up, changes by the manager to secure the win ( which failed ) our own leaky defence. Sorry i'm not as confident. Teams that win titles have great defenses and learn to make it hard for the other team. A draw may have been a good result, but not in these circumstances. The chance to push on spurned again.

Agree0 Disagree1

13 Jan 2016 22:47:33
1-0 down, came back, 2-1 down, came back 2-2, then went ahead 3-2 and they poked a last minute goal. Anfield away is not an easy one, we could have collapsed in the first 20 mins they were all over all. We came back 2 twice which is the mark of champions. The major issue is the DM issue, I agree. But watching the work done by Joel Campbell and Giroud hitting some form, all is ok. The defence has been poor but that is just the DM. Cech has the most clean sheets in the league this year I think. As always, not quite as gloomy as the disappointment would have people think. People just think if you don't win, you're rubbish. Not always the case.

13 Jan 2016 23:58:04
Well at least one of us is going to be right.

14 Jan 2016 00:12:27
A depleted Liverpool team, seriously, no wonder they couldn't beat us missing Coquelin, Sanchez and Cazorla. Oh no wait that's who we were missing.

Jesus you are one sad old moaning git. :-)

14 Jan 2016 03:57:33
Dog you really don't like opinions, except your own of course.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2016 08:14:35
Steve you talk about a depleted Liverpool with zero acceptance of the fact we are arguably missing three of our best players in Sanchez, Coquelin and Cazorla.

So a balanced view or opinion rather than a slate everything or negative outlook is much more my thing.

Even when you praised Iwobi the other day you couldn't help but finish it on a negative.

Good day to you too, I hope somewhere during it you can actually crack a smile because shortly it will be 2016, in the am that is. :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2016 10:05:07
I agree with dog was a great game of Footy and a good result how Liverpool played they deserved a point.

13 Jan 2016 22:06:38
Good game to watch, but pretty awful play in middle of the park.
Flamini does not give any support to our defence. Very frustrated
3-2 up and we pulled of the plug we let them play and creat and we just wanted to defend isn't very pleasing to see.
But credit to liverpool they pressed us really well and we gave them a lot of team on the ball.
Rant over.

Listened on player tonight, missed the chance to beat a depleated liverpool. When are we ever going to learn to control a game and not just take off three attackers and bring on three bang average at best defenders to try and see it out. Ok ox not defensive but not the best Defensively either. Missed gilt edge chance to create some daylight to citeh.

13 Jan 2016 22:07:47
Good grief Steve.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jan 2016 22:18:58
We should have wrapped it up with Giroud chance but he was awesome throughout

We need to sort centre midfield out and how to keep cool when Ozil comes off. It changes us so much.

They wanted it a bit more at the end which was a shame as we showed great fight, character and class.

We have to start taking maximum points from mid-table teams.

We need to get maximum points over the next handful of key games

A key transfer would be a welcomed boost that and a smile from Steve.

Monreal, Ozil, Campbell and Giiroud immense. We still need defensive midfield players. All 4 goals conceeded were in part due to lack of cover from the defensive midfield players. To think we ended up with the dreadful Arteta and Flamini, no wonder we conceeded when Allen went through with no midfield player challenging.
Fortunately, other results went our way, with the exception of Leicester winning, we couldn't even rely on the Toot to avoid defeat at home!

Stan kronke just got the nfl to approve the move of his nfl team the St. Louis rams back to los angeles. They will build a state of the art stadium and enter a larger market. I wonder if this means anything in regards to his ownership of Arsenal? Eds you guys have any ideas?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

13 Jan 2016 16:45:27
Yes it means Wenger will be extending his contract until 2022 at which point he will leave to manage the LA Rams.

We will get a star quarter back in return who will adapt to play the spot vacated by Coquelin when he finally moves to Madrid after winning a number of titles with the Arsenal.

That's what I read in my tea leaves anyway. ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jan 2016 16:59:40
I just looked at the tea leaves in my cup, its not good news.
Mainly because I was drinking a Cappuccino.

Love it red dog! And le coq will go to madrid for 200 million squid. Wenger will call for the nfl rules to be changed as he cannot play possession football (American) with only 4 downs!

13 Jan 2016 18:02:28
Looks like the 200 mill in the kitty will be winging its way over the Atlantic.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2016 00:24:07
It's a good point JK. Kronke is going to need a lot of cash and time and effort with this change. It may be tempting knowing he could take his profits by selling out to Usmanov or someone else.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jan 2016 14:37:28
Well Blanc has come out and said that if cavani wishes to leave then he is more than welcome too, now as much as this may be a load of codswalop does this mean there could be a bid for him this window? If so would you guys like him at Arsenal?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

13 Jan 2016 15:00:26
He's a quality goal scorer but he's 29 next meeting month and certainly won't come cheap so I think that combination automatically rules us out of signing him.
I'd say he's a more United's style signing, paying top dollar and wages for a quick fix player with no or limited resale value in the hope he can lift them into the top 4.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Jan 2016 15:29:28
So basically another di maria type signing lol? But yeah I agree, I think him going to PSG really did slow his progression down being second fiddle to Ibra, if he was an out an out striker for them from the get go I think he would of scored far more goals than he has. If they were to sell him they'd want at least £30-£35million for him I think and for me I think that's rather steep, would you take a punt if he were more like 20-25million?

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jan 2016 15:48:49
Here we are again worrying about the price and re sale lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jan 2016 17:02:11
I wouldn't touch him.
He will be nearly 30 by the time he gets use to The Prem.

Would rather splash the cash on Lacazette, who is 5 years younger.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jan 2016 17:04:54
Not me 28 :-) I'm only saying what I think the clubs view would be.
I'd pay a £30 million loan fee and 500k a week wage for him between now and May if I thought for a minute he'd secure us the tile this season.
£195 million in the bank + Elney and second or third place or £100 to £150 million in the bank and champions?
I know which I'd rather have mate :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jan 2016 17:52:36
Just messing g62. I would pay it out of my pocket if it ensured us the EPL, I like how you have deducted the 5million for elneny from our bank ballence. You really are head of finances 😚.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jan 2016 18:51:25
I reckon Elney is a diversion tactic which would explain the delay in his signing, joey Barton is the real target :-)

13 Jan 2016 18:54:36
Not enough of an upgrade to giroud to justify that outlay for me. We have enough options up front to not worry too much, unlike def mid.

Ed,

Perhaps one for the banter section.

Finally making a trip to London, finally able to afford a ticket to the Emirates. Just wondering: is it best to register as a supporter and get a crack at a ticket (£35) , or should I just go through stubhub? We're playing Watford.

Any inside from the lads would be appreciated. Thanks.
