Who'd take harry Kane for 40, Song for 8 and cech for 11

Believable0 Unbelievable0

13 Jun 2015 16:25:58
I'd take Song and Cech at 19mil but would shy away from 40mil for harry potter, he did very well last season and if can repeat it over the next two seasons 40 mil would be a bargin but I'm not sure about him, mind you I said the same about Liniker when he was at Leicester :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2015 16:43:58
I'd have Kane just to keep him on bench and annoy spuds fans. Isn't kane a gunners fan anyway?

Agree2 Disagree1

13 Jun 2015 21:36:17
I would take Kane for a long walk on a short pier.

14 Jun 2015 15:35:02
Songs a donkey i wouldn't give £8 for him. The other two, yes. Song would take us backwards not forward, he's pants.

Hey EDs, any updates on Schneiderlins situation? Seems all the papers are suggesting he'll be going to United now instead

He ain't going there Lemon mate as he's stated many times in the past he has ambition and would only leave Southampton for a better team.

13 Jun 2015 17:59:26
That's Arsenal out of the frame then gunner! Played us three times last season and you lost twice-and were lucky for the remaining fixture.

13 Jun 2015 21:08:57
I agree Martin.

13 Jun 2015 22:12:43
I do believe it was W 1 D 1 L 1? Silly united fan can't even remember the correct results... And DDG was the only reason your win wasn't a humiliating defeat, can see why he's off to Madrid ;)

Agree2 Disagree0

13 Jun 2015 22:13:41
Fair comment Martin so that's all Bradford players beyond chelseas reach then and Aguero joining us in the morning by your reckoning as we beat city twice and drew with then once.

So Sanchez is off to Swansea then....

I think he's a Southampton fan. No one pick up on that. I think he also didn't pick up on that g62 was having a dig at man utd as well. Your right g62 Southampton are better than manchester

The funniest is CTR taking a punt always sheesh and he calls it banter, forgetting thay SH even beat them.

Ummm..... English hood! Christ on a bike man try and stringing at least a few words together that make sense. This is now twice u have attempted to come at me and twice u have made little sense. I think my suspicions are right about u. :)

Ha, lemon, he is a Southampton fan, quite how u couldn't get that from his name is puzzling, when on a thread about a Southampton player, I know as usual United were bought into the discussion but come on!

G62 do u think if I searched 'G62' all your mentions would be about United? How is that inferior complex coming along? Accepted yet? Still in denial?
I look forward to your reply about us being woeful, Europa league at best, De Gea United, etc. It was funny mind you, 4 weeks ago. :)

A pleasure as always guys x

What would people say to Akpom being in the squad as our auxiliary striker for next season? He can play on the wing, as a number 10 or as a number 9. He's probably not ready 20-30 games a season, but as a player to come on in the last half hour of matches to rest Giroud and co, he could be quite a handy player to have about. Bags of technical ability and pace as well

Believable0 Unbelievable0

13 Jun 2015 13:17:01
I think he deserves a run Saint! But I thought that about Afobe aswell

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2015 13:58:41
His finishing concerns me a lot. Not sure he's a natural finisher. If he works hard on that then he could be the real deal IMO

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2015 14:27:41
I think he'll probably get a chance in the cups. Fantastic potential really hope he lives up to it.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Jun 2015 19:21:12
I think a for can become a decent premier league striker in a few years. Maybe just not the quality we need. Though why we bought sanogo with afobe and akpom waiting I don't know

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jun 2015 12:34:33
I thought he was going to be the next big thing and the positive comments from people like Sanchez seemed to further that but towards the end of last season, he came down here in Nottingham as part of a loan deal with Nottingham Forest and he was pants. That isn't to say he won't be great for Arsenal but he was very disappointing.

Altogether he has played 23 competitive first teams games for three clubs now, and has not scored a single goal.

Ok you've got 45 mil to spend on 3 players, who do you buy? For me it'd be pedro, Vidal and some random kid on a free because I've blown my budget :/

Cech and Benzema!

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2015 12:40:49
Pedro is far from my favourite player. Di Maria's 'adjustment' to the EPL is the lesson there. TBH outside of Benzema I can't think who is available who would fit as a clinical finisher in the style we play. But we need an option to Giroud (I like Giroud, he's good and important to winning in one style of playing) but we won't win anything if he is the only option. We need someone like Aguero.

If we are talking about somone like Cavani, it's almost as if Dags is right about Austin, and that can't be right -:)

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2015 13:44:28
Di Maria's first season was garbage but what if pedri was like Sanchez lol same team same league would be nice

I don't think pedro would come cheap he just signed a new contract.

No, he's 27/28 now as well, brow, so maybe not pedro.

If we're after a winger I'd rather we went all in for Reus, however unlikely he is to join us.

Casillas - free
Cavani - 35m
Asamoah - 10m

14 Jun 2015 10:05:31
If he's not free, then:

Negredo - 24m
Cech 11m
Asamoah - 10m

14 Jun 2015 11:30:30
Negredo and Giroud are far to similiar for me. I would take Berahino for negredo price, Especially given their ages.

I just like Mario Gomez.

I played against jese when I was 14. He was a few years older, what a brilliant player he was and I've played against some good players. Jese is by far the best

There's a lot of talk about which positions Arsenal should be looking to strengthen/upgrade. Clear consensus that it's in the spine of the team but there's all this discussion of whether an even better keeper or striker (not to mention CDM) should be priority. I feel keeper is so much more critical: Ospina has had a good run but it's statistically a lot like Wojciech's golden glove from the year before, reflecting defensive solidity more than anything. I'd like to see Ospina get a good run of games next season but there's no doubt Cech would be a worthy (proven) upgrade. As for a no. 9, while I feel none of our options can provide enough consistent quality to deliver throughout a whole season, people need to remember that Arsenal had the highest number of goalscorers all season out of every club. Our midfielders all made a fair contribution and the rest of our forwards tended to deliver. While I'd like to see reinforcements across the entire spine, if push comes to shove, a more proven keeper is much more of an asset.

So if sterling goes to city for daft money that's good news as I don't think he will add anything there and if Kane goes to United for daft money that will weaken Spurs and also think there is a good chance he will flop at United. Can see both them clubs buying lots of players and taking a good part of next season finding there best team. Arsenal will hit the ground running

Believable1 Unbelievable0

13 Jun 2015 11:45:05
Hard to argue with, but what should worry us all more is the fact that Chelsea and perhaps even City will also hit the ground running

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2015 11:49:54
Think you could be right, I think in the same way that sheerer wouldn't have been great in a top top team, I don't think Kane ever will be either. As for sterling, I think he could be an excelent player, with the right man management, but I don't think he'll get that at citeh

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2015 12:20:37
It was Moyes boys who got utd champions league football last season so LVG still has a lot to prove in premier league transfer standards, its been proven time and again big transfer budgets don't guarantee success if the man spending it doesn't get it right.
Plus without Dea Gea they are uafa league at best as things stand.
City will be a major force next season as they haven't gone from the best team in the country to also rans in 12 months plus they will spend and probably spend well.
chelsea will improve what they already have this summer so will be the team for all to beat again imo.
Us I think we will get Cech and probably a top wide man so a lot will depend on how well Theo up top pans out, if he can get 20 plus premier league goals we will get very close as Olly and the MF will get the bread and butter goals but Theo could well be the difference one way or the other come next May.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Jun 2015 12:38:45
Yeah agree with all of the above. Chelsea are the team to beat, but in saying that abramhovic eventually came to realise that continuity is more effective and saves him money hench bringing back mourinho. Mourinho just added a few and the team responded straight off the bat. City I still believe are giddy with money and haven't reAlised that fact yet. They will buy lots same as United and think they will struggle early on. Wenger isn't going to buy 3/4 players that are going to jump straight in. As always he will slowly integrate any signings we buy. We just need a little more strength in depth
GK
All round defender
CDM (starting or cover)
And a young prospect up front like El sharaway (so theo don't have a tantrum)

14 Jun 2015 00:44:46
You stick up for wenger you get slated, you call out the future and past of England's attack and you walk free... Well now I simply don't understand these antiquated rules

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2015 08:34:26
Cech looking more likely than ever but obviously to soon to count our pigeons yet.
Theo staying so he's our new striker for next season, I'm quite happy about that because if he's ever to become a world star its going to be playing down the middle and I'd hate to see that happen else where without us at least giving him a decent run up top.
Jack not interested in going anywhere he wants to play for Arsenal, if he can deservedly become a regular in our best 11 we will take some beating because it means he will have had to have truly raised his game and for filled his potential, which would be an amazing to se
If all 3 players play 30 plus games for us next season on merit and not because of injury suspension or loss of form by others we will be champions

Believable1 Unbelievable0

13 Jun 2015 19:25:02
Difficult to argue. And as much as I'd love to see our home grownayers fulfil their potential we need to make signings to move forward. A striker is a priority. I'm quite happy with mid. I'd like flamini to move on to create space for a true DM but who will take him?

Hope everyone is enjoying their off-season, I just got back from a camping trip in the great outdoors. I actually learnt something pretty fascinating. Did you know it's absolutely impossible to run in a campground? You can only ran, because it's past tents.....

Funny that because I went to the doctor about the wierd dreams I was having, so he asked me what they were.
I said yesterday morning when I woke up I thought I was a Wigwam then this morning I thought I was a Marquee.
The doctor said I know your problem, your two tents
