Thanks macc. Looking at the groups and possible draws, I think finishing 2nd in the group will be better for us.

Morata could be the perfect arsenal signing as he like us flatters to deceive.

He didn't look like he had what it takes to be a natural goalscorer to me, on this showing Vardy just became worth a lot more money if Morata is our other option.

That's it mate. I'm not saying he couldn't become a top player it that we need a finished article and for me I would be happy to buy him but it would be as well as another striker and his goals and performances are worth 20 million tops in my opinion. I always used to love watching el shaarwy but nothing has come from him either.

Ed's is there any possibility that Wenger is going to go I'm going to go and get vardy, kante and mahrez in a crazy window for us, I dunno whether I'm in the clouds right now like my mate stoner just a crazy thought?

I think there are a lot better options to gamble on and judging by today it would take him longer to adjust than we can offord to wait and most importantly longer than the likes of Ozil Sanchez and Belerin are prepared to wait for us to get it right.

eds any idea if this violence will affect the world cup in russia? sorry its not arsenal related, just thought you might have some insight on how fifa might react if it continues. i certainly wouldn't want to go to rusia for it, their media is portraying us as the instigators. i wouldn't take any blame away from us. but i imagine it wouldn't be very safe for english fans on the streets in russia.

{Ed002's Note - Right now it won't.}

FIFA like all federations act completly randomly. There never seems to be any consistency.

Nothing to do with Arsenal but I just wanted to know how the 3rd place play off work in the euros.

Normally the 2 beaten semi finalists?

Basically there'll be 6 teams in third place in their groups and these teams will be ranked against each other based on their points totals, goal differences etc from their own group matches. The top 4 teams in this ranking will go through to the next round.

Yep, what Macc said :-)

I have to say as a Liverpool fan, is there a better assist maker in the game than ozil, if you get a world class striker latching on to his passess, and crosses then you guys will be going places, I can see why Ronaldo didn't want him to leave Madrid, when he lays chances on a plate like he does, btw we don't want Walcott or chamberlain but feel free to make a bid for bentenke as his agent has decided he should be playing for a London club.

Aup kingkenny, you're very right. It seems so wrong having Ozil and not having that 'world class striker' to put away a higher percentage of the chances he creates. It's almost like having a really good PC but missing one important component.

If you take Theo we will take Danny Sturridge off your hands :-)
Mesut is the best of the best when it comes to assists and I think we need to sign a proven goalscorer if we are to have any chance of keeping him this summer, there will be lots and lots of options open to him and we need to give him a reason to think he can win big prizes with us.

Kenny,

Can we have Coutinho please?

Fair comment Sanogo mate but at the right price I'd take a chance on Danny Sturridge, the recent injuries record isn't great at all but prior to the 2014 world cup his fitness rate was pretty average for the premier league, if he gets and makes 30 games a season the pay off might be 20 + PL goals a season as he's very capable of doing that.

13 Jun 2016 19:48:22
He is mate but there would be mutiny if he ever got injured.

True but history is littered with such brave moves that paid off.
Gary Linikers reaction to Raneiri getting the Leicester job was " Raneiri, Really! "
All moves are Gamble's but Sturridge or Morata to be the man to finish off Ozils chances next season? I'd go for Danny and put my suit of armour on in readiness of the Rotten tomatoes headed my way and hope to come out of it covered in the sort of glory Leicester city were for appointing Raneiri.

Erm I take it you're a Sturridge fan then G62? :)

I am a bit perfect mate, I thought he had fantastic potential at city and I was shocked they let Chelsea have him and was disappointed we didn't even go for him before Liverpool did in January 2013, the boys a natural goal scorer just like Wrighty was and just what we need IMO. The injuries of the last 2 seasons are obviously a concern but I'd take a chance at 15 million or less especially if could involve a player who isn't doing it for us going the other way like Like Gibbs Theo Mertesacker ect.

He is good and I rate sturidge. He has had Injuries other than the past two years. I like Danny and wouldn't put either of those two above him with all factors considered . Let's face it there are a handful of strikers that are proven and are better than what we got. Anyone else is going to be a gamble. But you never know in football, shevchenko, Torres and veron all arguably the best I there positions at the time and absolute flops when the big move was made,

Agreed, G62 he definitely is a natural goalscorer.

{Ed025's Note - im putting a stop to it right now rosie..whats up with you guys, you are from different parts of the country (london + norway) and support different teams for gods sake, lets see some banter and unmerciful stick!..for the love of god get your tongues out of each others rectum.. :)

13 Jun 2016 12:26:31
Those players left out by England shouldn't feel to bad as thier in very decent company, Jimmy Case Billy Bounds Paul Davis Steve Bruce Jimmy Greenoff never managed a single England cap between them while Michael Carrick has won every honour going with united and was a regular starter while doing so but has repeatedly been ignored by consecutive England managers.
Frank Worthington Charlie George Tony Currie Duncan McKenzie only managed a handful of appearances between them.

I know g62. With Dixon, bould, Adams and winterburn, arsenal had the best back 4 anywhere. With seaman as well, surely it would have made sense to play the 5 for england?

13 Jun 2016 17:55:06
Perfect,
Bloody ridiculous mate.

I'm fuming :-)

13 Jun 2016 18:12:39
Very true C S its the same as when England 1st started playing with one up top who was better in that role than Wrighty who did it week in week out for us.
England's biggest problem has always been playing names not the right players for the job, as with Rooney for the last 4 years.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2016 20:48:49
I know its crazy. If you compare that back four to what England have now its ridiculous. If we had them now e might not even need a new sriker arsenal.
