So I guess Theo started a trend with his '2 - 0' gesture.

even benfica manager Jorge Jesus had a go at it to Tim Sherwood hahah

Where is Valley Vid tonight?? Come out come out wherever you are?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

SPANNER. His photo is on Dodgy Arsenal Sightings check it out put it there yesterday.

No offence, but if we can't beat Spurs (based on what I saw tonight and at Stamf Bridge), than we don't deserve to finish in top 4.

Benfica were very good but Spurs were awful.
No fluency in their play at all. Their back 4 were terrible, poor marking, very vulnerable at set-pieces, never won any 2nd ball situation's.

Their midfield were just as bad. No cohesion, lost their runners time and time again and their forward passing was awful.
Lennon was useless, Eriksen looked average (great free-kick though) and Sandro was awful.

Adebayor? well he was just Adebayor, no need to explain.

Honestly, if we can't beat this lot, even with our injuries, than something is seriously wrong.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Top post Dags couldn't agree more. I thought I was watching a Conference side. Mind you a Conference side would have been playing with a bit more flair. I've got to say though that if I were a Spurs supporter I wouldn't blame Sherwood I would be looking at the cards that were dealt to him by AVB. I think AVB is a waste of space personally.

Agree0 Disagree0

Their heads are turned. they are under pressure, the manager has told them they are fighting for their careers, and the pressure to win 4th is piling up with every liverpool win meaning, there is no top 4 battle. its a title battle between top 4 and then the rest.

Comments on Ramsey still being out injured?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I know your Arsenal through and through and if you broke yourself in half it would say Arsenal in the middle BUT! you do like to ask then questions that encourage a pop at the club.
Not sure why?

Agree0 Disagree0

He makes a very fair point G62. The same thing has happened for the last god knows how many seasons. And it's not all down to the medical staff. Arsene rushes players back to cover for the fact we don't have a good enough squad and runs them into the ground before and after the injury to compensate for the lack of quality depth our squad has.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hang on a minute Gunner, it is a question, many people on here have questions all the injuries, we tried to bring him back too early and he got injured, all the chat on here was for the NLD, I was told the story about him being out for the rest of the season was rubbish, well at the minute he still isn't back in full training . You have to have the hard discussions as well as the lovely ones.

Sorry mate but the Arsenal medical team, do not seem to be earning their corn

Agree0 Disagree0

All our major injuries seem to have started when the England team stole our best physio Gary Lewin!

Agree0 Disagree0

1st the question on the CL eligibility, fair enough!
Then next post in the medical team, yes a question that's been asked before by us all but the two in quick secession? It looks like some one looking to have a go at the club to me, sorry but I don't understand.
It doesn't have to be lovey dovey but does it have to be so anti all the time

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi guys,
there was an article in a paper today regarding Arsenal injuries from that dutch fitness guy who tore D Moyes apart earlier in the season about his methods and now he has done the same regarding AW. Basically he said when Arsene first arrived he revolutionised the training in England but now its outdated and he hasn't moved forward or upgraded if you like as time has gone on.
He feels that most coaches do this and only a handful will actually change their systems to move wih the times. He makes sense tbh as actually a lot of muscle injuries are not just down to bad luck, impact injuries you can't avoid obviously.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gunner

Not about Ramsey it hasn't, everyone on here or most were going on about Ramsey for the NLD? Sorry but it isn't the first time .

If you don't want to answer a straight forward Q, then don't comment. simple.

Or would you like to answer the Q?

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed Toolbox

Seems odd if there is a link between him going to the FA and the start of a series of injuries

Agree0 Disagree0

P.S Gunner

you clearly haven't read my post sticking up for the purchase of Ozil. or did you miss that one :) x

Agree0 Disagree0

I read the same article that Simonpw read.

The Dutch bloke also said that apparently Wenger trains the players like they are marines, especially in pre-season.

I'm no expert but maybe it's why we get a lot of injuries.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes Dags that could do it! carrying all that kit on your back, rifles, hand grenades etc. It's a recipe for disaster. LOL maybe we should be playing the HOP 2, 3, 4 HOP 2, 3, 4 formation .

Agree0 Disagree0

Happy to answer Banbury, Ramsey injury status is back any day, I like most people hoped he would be back to Sunday but that isn't going to happen unfortunately.
Is he really out for the season? I doubt it very much but I may be wrong, time will tell.
I never want our players to be injured and that very much includes Sanogo.
Are our players out to often and to long? Yes of course that are compared to other players at other clubs.
My question to you was why so much negativity about the club so often,?
It does seem to me you look for things to have a dig about and still don't understand why?
People often post very valid concerns about the club but I have never known anyone apart from spurs fans find so much wrong so often with Arsenal

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Mar 2014 19:35:52
so Ramsey still isn't fit, as I said few days back, I have heard he is out for the rest of season, Arsenal always do this to stop unrest amongst fans about the lack of transfers.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Valid G95

some on here don't want a frank discussion about the ugly topics, face facts we don't deal with injuries very well. And the injury list always seems to have a fictitious date against players .

Ozil 6 - 8 weeks
Ramsey been 3 months now
Wilshire 8-10 weeks
Walcott will be 5 months
OX missed the first 12 weeks
Podolski how many weeks at the start of the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

One thing we do win is the injury league, champions 10 years running lol

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Mar 2014 19:05:43
Anyone think ozil is a big waste of money we could have spent it on 2 players

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He needs better players in front of him! Imperative that we go and buy two top class strikers this summer. Giroud still has something to give but just in a lesser role.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nope

I think with the right support around him he is fantastic

It's his first season and his stats are strong despite Theo and Rambo being injured. These two benefit from a player like Ozil as would Pod when given the chance.

I would like to see a bit more pace in our game and more runs behind the back four to take advantage of Ozil

Ozil would have loved Freddie, Overmars, Anelka etc etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

Far too early to call, he needs a full 12 months to adjust, let's see how he is next Xmas

See Gunner I am defending AFC :)

Agree0 Disagree0

No not at all, he is a world class Robin and not a Batman. any side in the world would be happy to have him

My concern is all the stick he is getting from so called supporters, I mean we are lucky to still have Ramsey (tip of the cap to you Mr. Wenger).

Let's win the cup!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ozil should get stick for his dumb penalties but not for the time it has taken him to settle into the prem, he is quality, he needs time IMO

Not sure why we are lucky to have Ramsey? We are 'The Arsenal' and a big club we have stuck by him . Hopefully he will be more loyal than a certain Dutchman

Agree0 Disagree0

BG - we are lucky to have Ramsay because when he was down from the long recovery from his injury, some supporters gave up on him which did not help his confidence. But Wenger did not and now he looks like our future captain. I can't remember if you stuck with him through the tough times - hope so. ;-))

Who is to say Ozil will be so patient…

Cheers mate.

Great poast lakerville. I agree with most of what you say. People say we aren't far off and my opinion is I think we're further than we think. Defensively we make big mistakes in big games and are serial offenders at that. Shez, kos, arteta, flamini are very rash at vital times. Against the big boys we tend to get dominated possession wise and tactically and we seem to go into important games with an attitude we will stop them not beat them first. I think we are a mile behind sheik city who are a mile behing the top European teams. Have we improved from last year, i'm not sure. Yes I think we can win the fa cup but ithink we may finish fourth with more points but I think both liverpool and chelsea will have more as well. All the teams around us have new managers and this was our chance to pounce and it has not happened. Our midfield maybe just needs a powehouse but it has for the last 9 years. To go into this season with the strikers we have is just slack management, what ever the arguments fo pod Walcott and bentner they are either not good enough or not true strikers. Giroud is only mid table standard and no pace or presence, who does not take games or cannot take games by the scruff of the neck and win them like aguero, suarez, messi, ibrahimavich, Costa, etc. So how near are we really. We can all look to the future and say this player and that player will be this but I think we are outside looking in and we will again next year.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

13 Mar 2014 14:40:31
Reasons to be cheerful this season

Still challenging for the title in march
Semi finals and massive favourites for the fa cup
Giving a good account of ourselves in europe against the big boys from germany, italy and france.
Finally splashing out on a world class player.
Ramsey overcoming the boo boys to turn into the complete player he is.
The ox showing his class consistantly.
Per and Kos solidifying their partnership.
Shez maturing into a top keeper.
Flamini brought back to have someone that will finally bark orders.
And finally we never wasted 100m.

its not all doom and gloom folk's. we all want more but still need to appreciate what we do have.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We are in a very healthy position and this is due to wengers eye for talent and also his economic know how. I do appreciate that and think 95% of fans do.

However at the very least this summer is the time to push on (should of last summer but excuses were made again), if he does not get the players in where it seems glaringly obvious to everyone he needs to strengthen then surely questions need to be raised about where he sees the club progressing.

surely? or am I being ungrateful because I want us to win the premier league and champions league. even though we have 200 million sitting around looking tasty.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great post Belly things are on the right track for sure and Saenz agree with you no excuses or reasons this summer we have to add some real quality with real money this time.
Ozil was a great step forward but he needs to be part of not our entire plan for the future

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Mar 2014 14:17:55
in midfield we have Ramsey out! ozil out Wiltshire out and Walcott out! all first team starters show me another team that could cope with that! or on another note show me another team this would happen to!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

13 Mar 2014 13:05:42
I am beginning to wonder if Arsene Wenger has done all he can for the Club.

His hesitant nature has not helped us.

Yes he brought Ozil, yes I am aware Ozil came mainly due to wenger. but besides that the tactical nous and the timely substitutions are not effective on the biggest stage.

I would like to see wenger go to barcelona, have the best players at his disposal, even buy mesut from Arsenal and win that trophy he so elusively wants.

for me he will not win that at arsenal, especially with his hesitance to spend.

Win the FA cup, try and win the league and call it a day.

I am aware we should be ware what we ask for especially looking at how Manchester United are without fergie.

But I think appointing the likes of Klopp, Martinez would enable us to change our mentality, our way of thinking.

Wilshere, Ramsey, Ox, Theo, gnabry, zelalem. these are the real treasures and superstars in the making we have. admittedly theo is one trick, but his pace is stellar against european opponents.

Mert and kos are due to be 30 and 29 by the start of next season, with a 2-3 year window before they start to decline. We have no apparent young CB in the pipeline, nor are we scouting one.

Vermalen may leave, Sagna may leave,

im happy with Jenks, monreal and Gibbs, but we still need a starting RB this summer.

Arteta and Flamini are great but again, they do not control the game, they just position themselves greatly to affect our teams play. we need a more dominant CDM

the Draxler to Arsenal is def dead IMHO, bayern are going to buy him.

Kroos and muller and whoever else wants out will go to barcelona, Pogba will join madrid along with one superstar striker.

The Strong European teams are only getting stronger.

I have no idea how much money we have in the bank, but this summer, if we have to pay over the odds, we must.

Cavani, Diego Costa, so on. but we are after alvaro morata, no disrespect to him, but he is not going to win us the league.

For me wenger has to improve a lot of things, including an answer to why our players are forever injured.

its not like barcelona has the strongest physical speicmen players in their team, but yet they play a large majority of their games, in rotation and are always available for the key months in the year.

now look at our squad, I can't even imagine how many key players are not in the lineup.

For me this was wengers last chance saloon.

i do not want to make excuses for my team and he should not be making excuses as a manager.

he should have paid 53 million for cavani, he should have raised the suarez bid, he should have added more depth.

leaving everything to luck is bad planning.

im unaware of the summer plans, but if he leaves it till the last day, once again its not a coop, its just luck.

its not all doom and gloom i'm aware, we are not struggling to make 4th, but the team has been exhausted with his selections.

sanogo barely came back and injured, ozil injured, ramsey, wilshere, and we have spurs then chelsea and so on.

Being a realist I know our title dreams are over, getting 3rd would be a blessing.

but the blame lies with the manager, he has taken this risk, he has made the choices and he should live with the consequence. the money was there.

Im grateful to all wenger has done, but I feel he just cannot take us further, It would be better if he took the best job on offer, with a star studded team, and he took on his obsession to win the champions league.

but for Arsenal, and his money miser ways, he will not take us to the pinnacle in that manner.

can we win the EPL over the next few years, YES

we can win the FA cup this year. i'm Ecstatic. but in the long term view and the dream we will all have in the coming years, wenger will not be able to deliver to us the European crown.

I hope you understand my perspective, its not a slight against the team, its just the way they are managed and rotated, and the effects it has on our european season year after year.

Cheers.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lakerville, I agree completely bud. I wrote a post a while ago that said pretty much the same thing. for the past 2 or 3 years there has been a huge opportunity to take us on to the next level but he has not done it. We are realistically going to finish 3rd or 4th this season again! its not good enough considering the potential we have in the team and the spare money we have in the bank. understandable if we were broke, but we are far from it.

i think we will win the FA Cup and finish 3rd. However I think we will sign a middle of the road striker and a young defender in the summer. We will go in for top players e.g Diego Costa, Griezman etc but they will move elsewhere because other clubs front a more generous financial package to buy them.

it baffles me because surely with the finances available being the best team possible should come before making more profit?

each season I start it with such a level of excitement and confidence in the team as it progresses it gradually fades into disappointment and acceptance that we will finish 4th, the same thing happens year on year.

I don't believe all the stuff about Wenger having sole control of player activity, obviously he has a big say. If the board wanted him to spend the money he would have to. at the end of the day it is their decision not his. They have the power to sack him so why would he go against their wishes?

In my opinion people should focus anger on the owners not him although his player management does seem slightly odd at the moment.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with this apart from wenger leaving just to win the champions league, I think his story will end as one of the greatest footballing minds never to win it, it's a great shame.

It's terribly annoying how our players pull a muscle and are out for 6-10 weeks and if this changes we can of course win the premier league.

I hope I regret these words but it could be last chance saloon for wenger as you say mate, I'm hoping wengerism comes and shows some of his famous (if not infamous) upbeat attitude.

As you say, there are a lot of positives, given our situation now, I would have snapped your hands off if I was offered it before the window, an FA semi and still in the title race (mathematically.)

But once again it feels like it's about to all fall apart and it never seems fair on us.

I thank wenger for all he has done. But if we don't add in the summer I'll be very doubtful over the ability of wenger to win us titles. Especially the one he craves the most and we may never see that massive beaming smile again.

A new manager with new ideas would be a massive welcome. Something that happened famously in 1996, and perhaps in 2040, when we have a new legend, even comparing him to the great Arsene Wenger, we could have our hands on the champions league.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great post Laker! One of the most realistically thought out posts iv seen on here in recent months. Certainly no rose tinted glasses.

Agree0 Disagree0

It might be noting to do with AW, do you really think and other manager could have done as much, it is more to do with the American who holds the purse strings .

Agree0 Disagree0

Best post ever. Respect Laker.

Agree0 Disagree0

Banbury I Agree, it may not be all there for him to spend, we don't know.

but if I was him, and I have now seen, wilshere, ramsey, ox, gnabry, can perform, add zelalem to the mix, try and bring Khedira or gundogan to give us some midfield depth.

and if money is needed, I would sell ozil to barcelona in a swap for Alexis Sanchez and money.

would that make barca stronger? yes ofcourse it would.

but having a frontline of Theo, Alexis (he is a strong player) on the wings would enable us to bring a better clinical striker.

look we need something drastic to happen this summer, if he is not going to buy a striker because he can't spend, sell the 42, 5 million player to buy the striker, because that's what we needed all along.

no slight at ozil he is world class, but i'd rather get some money on him and let him flourish in a league where he can use his technical ability, rather than being pushed around in the EPL, which he cannot handle physically.

We called it from the start, we needed a striker, and the clinical moments we needed a goal have passed us by.

This post isn't arsenal related but football related.

These days there are many people out there that don't like footballers, some because of the money they earn or how they behave on the pitch. I would like to bring forth Cristiano Ronaldo, he's opted to pay for a 10 month old child's life changing operation, he has neurological disease and the only cure is through surgery, the child's parents have been trying to raise the money for this operation but the cost is £60,000 euros, Ronaldo heard about it and was going to donate a signed shirt and boots to help raise the money but after hearing how much they've tried to get the money he donated all the money they needed. For Ronaldo that's nothing to him but the fact that he's opting to pay for it is astonishing. I'm sure there are other players who have done things like this in the past but this is the first one of heard of.

Mr Ronaldo you really are one fantastic human being.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well done to him and the fact that he helped with his own money is what makes it important and different.
To many stars want the public to give the money and them just give their name or shirt.
I would like too see more people coming on TV and saying we all need to give and I will start it off with X £s.
Didn't Morinho auction his coat a few years back and beat the highest bid at the last minute and so ended up buying his own coat but back and raising money for the and the profile of the charity with both HIS time and own money.
Great example

I don't hate the people they are I just hate the divers they are.

VALLEY YID. Serious question mate and I don't want to be rude. But how old are you son. Because I really don't want to see a young person come on these sites and get caned by people. Especially if you are still at school or something like that. But the fact is, and I will put it mildly, if you go on other people's sites and talk crap about their teams then you are going to get abuse. If you go on people sites and have a little bit of banter that's acceptable and we can all have a laugh. But I get the feeling you are quite young so that's why I am asking,
