14 Dec 2015 22:39:46
Mahrez mate.

Offer Leicester £25m, they keep him until end of season and than he joins us.

Sanchez, Mahrez and Ozil?

Dream team.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - sounds good dags..

14 Dec 2015 22:49:06
Hes in mad form dags. Vardy has been without a doubt the player of the season so far. Kante that boy can run lol. Bet he runs home after the game.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 22:53:28
Bit like the Everton 'Awesome foursome' Ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - nah..not that good dags.. :)

14 Dec 2015 23:25:32
I've said before: Stones, Marhez and Carvalho is what we need. Not closed to exchange Carvalho for Kante :)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - you have a good chance of carvalho mate, the other 2 not so much..

14 Dec 2015 23:29:47
Of course :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 23:48:13
Stones is city or utd bound if leaves IMO, mores the pitty.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i think he might just stay where he is G62..

15 Dec 2015 00:10:19
How much have people seen of carvalho? Iv seen odd bits of games not a full one. Kante is uncapped. English gran?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - yeah..nanny kante...or is that a spanish airport?.. :)

15 Dec 2015 07:08:58
Jesus ed025 that was a cracker I literally laughed out loud and had to explain to the other have at 7 in the morning!

By the way have you been tasked by ed01 to act as a Samaritan on the United page and bring some fun back to their page. You're doing a great job mate as they are on the spiral of doom.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - they need a bit of TLC red dog, im just spreading a bit of christmas cheer mate..god knows they need it..next stop chelsea.. :)

15 Dec 2015 08:30:22
Ed the Chelsea page may be a Bridge to Far mate. ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i like that red dog.. :)

EDS no comment. but i'm told that spurs want to pair kante with there young centre mid they got from mk dons.

{Ed025's Note - i seen that derby..you will be hearing from my solicitors.. :)

14 Dec 2015 22:05:05
Amazing stat.

In 16 games, Leicester have had less possession than their opposition in 15 of them.

But, deservedly sit top of table.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Dec 2015 22:13:03
Our stats weren't that dissimilar this time 2 years ago Dags when we were top, for the first time in years we weren't bossing possession but were getting better results, hitting on the break with pace is all the rage.
Soon teams will desperately trying to lose possession in order to win games :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 22:13:49
I loved the other stat that no team with their amount of points after 16 games has ever finished outside the top four.

No idea how far they'll go but great club and Ranieri is such a nice guy. Two cracking goals too.

Where does the tactical genius at Chelsea go from here is the big question. I said it yesterday, are they really going to be in a relegation scrap, 9 losses already.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 22:25:00
Now back to taking Matic on loan to save Chelsea, maybe they should offer the top 14 clubs the pick of their players to do for them what they can't do for themselves. It might be their best option :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - not even sunderland would take hazard G62.. :)

14 Dec 2015 22:42:00
Ed025,
José is not happy with Hazard because he pretty much 'subbed' himself when he fell over.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - he has been awful this season dags, mind you so have most of the chelsea team mate..

14 Dec 2015 22:51:08
Hazards head is in Madrid surely. Will jose last to see IBRA run riot?

No idea why he doesn't play loftus cheek.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 22:51:56
Very true Ed and as for the miserable one even Leeds wouldn't have him for a weekend and let's face it their no fussy either with or without a drink in them :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 22:54:45
Was disappointed at the time, but glad we didn't pick up Fabregas.

He's been terrible for over 12 months.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 23:17:22
Mourinho says he's been betrayed by his players. Surely that translates as an admission of having lost the dressing room. Can Chelsea afford NOT to sack him?

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Dec 2015 08:54:29
cesc would be fine here dags. so would hazard etc. an unhappy club effects a lot of players.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 19:53:15
Anyone believe when Wilshere returns Wenger would employ him as a holding midfielder (much like the role he excelled in for England before his latest injury) to help compensate for the loss of Coquelin? I don't see a spot for him in the starting XI otherwise.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Dec 2015 20:31:02
A fuly fit Jack could play the Caz roll but simply doesn't have the discipline or ability to do the job of Le Coq.
The way I see it Aaron needs to play in the middle next to Le Coq ahead of boty Caz and Jack.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 21:13:36
Jack and Rambo in middle?
Too gung-ho for me.

Our defence will crap themselves.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 22:16:39
We can't stop Flamini ending up in the opposition penalty area so we'd have no chance with those two together.

Which actually got me thinking the other day, has Coquelin ever set foot in an opposition penalty area. I'm doubting it.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - my priest once told me...never put le coq in anyone elses box.. good advice i think red dog.. :)

14 Dec 2015 22:29:06
Did you heed that advice though ed or are you as bad as Dags, he's been caught offside in the box on many occasions.

Well that's what I read once on the toilet door at Dagenham bus station. ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - dont ever confuse me with that reprobate red dog.. :)

Funny enough,

Went out on the lash with my mates a while ago and woke up next to the fattest, most ugliest woman I have ever seen.

Nice to know I got home safely :-)

What a great week and weekend. Advancing to the round of 16 was pretty special and top of the table, and who could forget Spuds and United losing and a liverpool draw. I have to say City do not scare me whatsoever unlike years past. They are very beatable. Unfortunate news that we have to play Barcelona. Then again anything can happen wish we had coquelin for that match up but hey maybe we will buy a defensive enforcer. A man can dream.
I can't say enough about Cech he is the difference and Monreal has been absolutely superb all year.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - a good week indeed dazza..

14 Dec 2015 20:47:12
Puzzles me when everyone calls out for Coquelin. We could still lose when he plays despite we're better shielded with him. How 'bout everyone does his job well regardless who plays? Could guarantee us a win all the same.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 21:14:45
Horses for courses.

We don't have a DM like Coq.

If not injured, he is first name on team sheet.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 21:51:01
Since we found a DM in Le Coq not once in the premier league have we been ripped apart by any team, coincidence? Personally I don't think so, how easy the humiliations at Liverpool city and Chelsea plus all those suker punch defeats are forgotten.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 17:48:59
So in summary, we are top of the tree, and in the last 16 of the Champions league, whilst Man United have drawn some Danish minnows in the Europa pub league.
Got to love it, we are off to Barcelona with the big boys, and all those muppets get is a snowball fight in the middle of nowere!

14 Dec 2015 19:29:05
Plus there's not one single duvet or pillow seller out side the Emerirates at home games.
Who'd have thought they would still be going backwards 3 years after Fergie left and being champiins, could Chelsea be about to follow suit?
Be nice wouldn't it :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 20:20:56
Maybe they will have a couple of snowmen on the bench for the rest of the season, probably give them more chance of top 6!

{Ed's Note - We have posted a new article entitled, UEFA Ramp Up Man City Argument as Petr Cech Sets Records For Arsenal

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Dec 2015 16:57:21
I was just thinking what an amazing effect Petr Cech as had on the team. We had been crying out for a world class keeper for a long time. Also, Ramsey has come on a treat. He looks so much better in a more central position. I am so pleased for Giroud, who looks back to his best. Great week, we are top the league!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

14 Dec 2015 11:52:09
Great draw, the team we play does not matter we are in the champs league and if we want to be a top team we have to beat the best, no easy draw really just quality. Players back and firing and a few additions and we will give anyone a hard time.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

14 Dec 2015 12:07:36
I'm happy with that.

Take a lead from 1st leg and play tight at Nou Camp.

Barca only have one game plan, albeit brilliant, but they are beatable.

Nothing to fear, apart from injuries.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 12:17:26
For me get Stones and Carvalho if possible if not do something as the thought of Mert and Flamini v Sanchez Neymar and Messi isn't a pleasant one :-)

Agree2 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 12:35:54
Spot on steve. Think it's 'bout time we show what we can do to big teams. We'll play without fear. If we push a little bit harder, we could do well to beat everyone. I believe in this squad and i reckon we give 100%. We will make it hard for them once we get past their midfield.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 12:47:46
Agreed, never looked like getting this far so whe should go and enjoy it, and have a real go at them. Nothing to lose.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 11:22:14
Yes bring it on, that's what football is about playing and trying to beat and become the best.
Great draw, if we progress we've nothing to fear after Bayern and Barcelona and if we don't hey ho we should get two fantastic games of football to enjoy before we concentrate on the league, plus there's no spursday night football for failure more than happy with that.

14 Dec 2015 11:27:53
If we get Carvalho or get Coquelin back, the latter might be a tall order then I'm good with this fixture.

Our 1st 11 will I'm sure give it a helluva go and what have we got to lose. Brilliant.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 11:39:24
I'm really buzzed by the draw Red as you say we've absolutely nothing to lose, the whole of Europe expects us to lose so we can just relax and be ourselves and go for it without any pressure, let's enjoy what promise to be a couple of festival of football occasions.

Last season if we'd made a list of expected last 8 it wouldn't have contained Monaco, of course we're underdogs but that's no bad thing.
A great result at home and who knows, stranger things have happened in football, I can't think when but they have :-) OK I'm sure I could think when if I tried but in truth I'm to excited to even bother trying :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 13:36:14
you never bet with your heart dags you use your head.
not sure on Barcelona record of making it past the last 16 but i can't remember the last time they didn't make it. injuries are key of course. if they have messi suarez neyamr starting its a big task.

but the last time they beat us in the final they went out in the last 16 i believe the following year so you never know. history shows the winners don't win it again.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 17:47:57

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 19:56:08
I find Arsenal perform better as the underdogs when the pressure is off, nobody expects us to get past them but they are not unbeatable. We will obviously sacrifice a lot of possession so we have play well with pace on the counter. If Walcott is on his A game we can cause them trouble no doubt.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 11:19:45
Without looking, isn't it for the last 5 years we've only drawn Barcelona and Bayern?

We can get through to the knockouts stages but we can't get a kind draw lol.

Let's strengthen and look to cause an upset, we got nothing to lose.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

14 Dec 2015 11:32:30
Monaco last season? And that was our worst ever exit from the knock out stages. Its a massive draw and to be enjoyed not feared.

14 Dec 2015 10:52:38
I can remember Manchester United being religated and how much they struggled under Fergie in the early days but I can never remember them being this bad before.
Fergie won the title with some very average players especially towards the end of his career (im still not sure how) but united under LVG have sunk to a whole new level.
I say give the man a payrise and a 30 year contract.

Its 50/50 if we are champions league last 16 favorite's or underdogs, obviously Real and Barcelona would be the toughest tests and on paper Zenit and Wolfsburg the more likely to get by.
Personally I see positives who ever we get if its one of the big two its mega exciting and we get a chance to build on the Bayern at home result but if its one of the other two progression past the last would atleast appear to be more likely.

Love what Klopp did with the Liverpool players at the end of yesterday's games to reward the fans for playing their part for the team.
If he can make 40,000 paying supporters see and do things his way getting 11 players to do the same doesn't sound to difficult at all.
The bloke is excellent for the game.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Dec 2015 11:23:48
no doubt he is a brilliant manager, but if he can't get top 4, keep the best players, the only thing that can happen is regression. Klopp can only manage not create results, and while its still early, its a very difficult situation to be in.

Great week - Last 16 in the Champions League and top place in the Premier League.
I would love to see Wenger push out the boat and make a top notch defensive midfield signing in the January window. It could be the difference in winning the Premier League. With players returning from injury, the squad will look stronger in the new year, when the likes of Sanchez, Wilshere and Welback return. Later on we get Cazorla and Coquelin back.
Ramsey looks so much better in a central role, although his experience on the right may have improved him as a player.
Seeing Man U and Tottenham lose as well, made my weekend. I always believed the Tottenham hype was hype and little else. They have only won 6 out of 16 league matches, drawing 8 of them! They would have been better off winning 3 of the 8 and losing the remaining 5! We have also played 9 of our 16 league games away from home, so we have the advantage of playing a couple of home matches. We need to get get behind Wenger and the team in our next match against Man City and roar them on to victory.

After everyone was raving about Chelsea and their start to last season, even talking of them going the season unbeaten, they had 39 points after 16 games.

After what has been an up and down start we have 33 points, so not too shabby to be honest.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 08:12:33
84 pionts is the average to win the premier league but utd have won it on 75 pionts, what ever happens it would be great for us to break the 80pts mark for first time in 8 years.
The way thos season is going 80pts will probably be more than enough to win it but even if it wasn't for us it would be unquestionably progress.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 08:29:12
RG69,

We have seen a lot of players linked with us, some have even made Derby's 300 but a lot are not good enough, Benteke, Wanyama and for me Bony fall in that category.

There are other quality players out their but it's all about filling the right needs and for me improving what we consider to be our best 11.

At this moment in time Cech, Bellerin, Koscielny, Monreal, Coquelin, Sanchez, Ozil and Ramsey would be difficult to upgrade, that is in players realistically available, in my opinion.

However a player like Carvalho, who if I'm correct, hasn't played in the Champions League this season is an absolute no brainer. He and Coquelin competing or on occasion playing together would be immense.

Another attacking mid or winger wouldn't go amiss as Welbeck is now not back until February.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 09:01:43
Carvalho would be fantastic but wouldn't £37 million be to strong for Arsene?
We need cover for Le Coq asap so need to think not so much what we can afford or would idealy want but more what are we realistically likely to pay to get what we need.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 09:25:25
id still take bony over welbeck all day long. scored midweek and set two up/. scored saturday. people wanting welbeck back do they think we are getting henry back or something.

id rather have cavani. benzema. aubeumeang of course and greizmann

carvalho i'm all for no guarantees hel handle the prem pace tho. he's used to time on the ball to pick his passes. worth a gamble tho.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 11:24:51
People want Welbeck back because he is injured and in our squad, no one I would imagine thinks he will be the new best thing mate.

As for Bony, does he work for the team, does he really do enough mate, not for me, but each to their own and when I said realism are wages not sufficient to know Benzema and Cavani will not be here.

It really isn't just plucking names Derby, I'd take upgrades on any of the players I didn't list but they have to be available, won't to come and be better than our 1st 11.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Dec 2015 13:37:18

14 Dec 2015 17:18:27
Derby some of the players you've picked have naturally been good shouts it's just some times they are not what we need or there's little to no chance of getting them mate.

Griezmann moved in the summer didn't he so unlikely he'll move again.

I try not to get into picking out players because the chances are, like Wanyama, that Wenger has no interest in them.

Not sure what the score is with Fekir's injury but he was another Wenger liked along with Carvalho and would love them both here, massive improvements on Rosicky and Flamini and good enough for the first team.
