Did you see pep's conversation he had with harry arter about the loss of his daughter/ current pregnancy? Things like that do show me there is still some class left in football (reffering to that Ajax player who used his injured team mate to gain an advantage, if you haven't seen it then you should read it) it's a shame that things like that don't happen that often in football, I know fans acknowledge these things but apposing teams don't seem to.
On a more arsenal related topic what are people's thoughts for tomorrow's game? My heart says 2-0 to us but realistically 1-1 would seem like a good result.

We will lose tomorrow night and get knock out again against Bayern because Arsene never learns from previous mistakes against the same opposition.

We aren't usually very wise in games like this. I hope i'm wrong but most good managers know how to beat us and they just wait and pick us off. Our guille is not the strongest part of our game. Its a two legged game and we must give ourselves a chance to still be in it at home. I am really worried about going two goals down, as we do, before we have a go.

Spot on Steve. How many seasons has it been now where we don't play smart then have the impossible task then just miss out marginally. Happened so many times.

Pep has spoke about arter a few times! It wouldn't suprise me if city put a bid in the summer!

Just read an article about the AST (Arsenal supporters trust) complaining about the attendance being recorded as tickets sold not attendance. Reading it I agree something must be done about that. Anyone have any ideas what can be done I do hate seeing empty seats.

Also reading on it also suggests that arsene himself is letting this happen to keep the Arsenal faithful away from the stadium. I really hope not many share that opinion because like him or hate him that sounds ridiculous and moronic at best.

{Ed001's Note - the attendances have to be recorded as tickets sold for tax purposes, every club does it this way.}

14 Feb 2017 18:10:50
What difference would it be if it gave actual attendance, you would still look at empty seats. They pay their money, its their choice how often they go.

I get they have to be recorded as that. It's more that we announce it as 60,000 attendance during the game when it's clearly not. I'm not sure how it would even work I'm obviously more concerned with the football results then the attendance it just Caught my eye! Shame people are wasting tickets!

Steve there is no difference it was something the AST aren't happy about. Tickets being wasted and that's being ignored. Obv they get there money so they don't care. But does it not bother you so many people aren't bothering to show up. Granted it's their money but when a passionate fan cannot get a ticket to support his club I think that's a big problem. We get priced out enough let alone rich sods not bothering to show. I'm aware that won't be the case for every seat.

I am sure there are many reasons why people don't go to every game. People won't like me saying maybe one is discontent, I don't know. What do you do, people moan when they put banners, people moan when they sing and if people don't go they are in the wrong. What are people supposed to do if they aren't happy. Maybe it isn't that but that's often the case for mass empty seats.

Quite simply stop going? Sell on your season ticket or sell it back to the club. Out of interest do you go to Many games? Or anyone reading this. I ask as I only go too maybe 2/ 3 games a season. And I've never Been asked to sit down or see banners taken away. Who's to blame for these things you've pointed out? Genuine question as I can see wenger walking into the offices saying oi mate stop letting people stand it's putting me off.

Where are you going with this D, i'm on about people in general, saying its wrong to do this and that and I don't know the full reason why they aren't going, just a suggestion.

I'm going the same place you are Steve. Which is a forum with opinions I'm only putting mine out there to see what people think just like you are lol. It's a shame Tho isn't it. Obviously the performance on the pitch is what matters but personally I can't understand why people don't turn up. As often as it seems tho. If I had a season ticket I'd be gutted to miss a game.

We are going into a really interesting and crucial period of the season. Many fans are critical of Wenger, but how many other clubs are in the top four, still in the CL and the FA Cup? Conte inherited a team that had one the PL theseason before last and didn't have CL football to contend with. One of the problems this season has been Wenger's refusal to sign a deal.

Even with our favourite players, we would lose patience if they run their contracts down. Presently we are in a top four position in a highly competitive season. Taking into account the fact that Chelsea, Man C and Man U are three of the wealthiest clubs on the world, we are realistically looking at competing for the fourth CL place with Liverpool and the Toot.

We are still in the CL and assuming we don't suffer a heavy defeat at Bayern, the second leg being at The Emirates gives us a chance of progressing. We have Sutton in the FA Cup 5th round, victory would put us in the last 8 of the competition. Finish outside the top four and fail in both comps and I can't see Wenger staying.

Finish top four, beat Bayern and do well in the FA Cup and he may remain. However, we have a tricky run in and finishing top four won't be easy.

So, bottom line is, happy with top 4?

Dags, at this point I think we'd all be happy to just finish top four this season and not get embarrassed by Sutton.

Nat all Dags, simply realistic and despite my occasional moan, we have quality manager.

I usually wouldn't be happy dags but as RG pointed out given the run in we have I think it would be a master stroke and Wenger should be given another 5 years! On top of that can you imagine how great it will be to get past Sutton and get into the last 8 of the FA cup. That would make my year! Beating Munich would be ok as well I guess 🙀.

Joking aside I understand where he's coming from and that would be great if we were Southampton, Everton and I dare say as of late maybe united and Liverpool fans. We have done that as long as Wenger has been at the club and it's understandable we want more!

We should judge against our own standards and hopes. Top 4 is a must and if united win the UEFA (which they are very capable of) then we might need top 3. I think that's how it works!

For me we should be competitive for the title every season, just competitive is a start but we never are, we stay in the top four and that is an achievement but we are not challenging at all and are just happy to make up the numbers in the champs league. For arsenal football club that is below what expectation should be, we are being held back by ability.
