Solid peformance and a good result against Borehamwood. The shape is already looking better and the players played with more freedom, even shooting from distance!
Early days, but a positive start.

I may be wrong sano but i think we will move a few out before we buy our next player. Or at least, be in the process of.

Depends who wants Aaron as possible part exchanges might be open to us.

Can only see signings if Ramsey or Welbeck move on.
Sales/ releases:
Ospina
Jenkinson
Campbell
Akpom
Iwobi
Chambers - Ordinary beyond belief!

In January:
Mustafi sold and replaced.

RG61 chambers just signed a new deal so he is not going anywhere. Campbell Jenkinson and Akpom would only get pennies for them. Ospina maybe 8-10Mill I guess, Iwobi maybe around 15Mill. So I think in order for another decent player to come in we would need to sell Ramsey and/ or Mustafi and also possibly Wellbeck which are players we could get a bit more cash for. So a lot depends on if Ramsey signs a new contract or not. If he signs on I can't see us really making any more signings.

RyanP - Yes, I know Chambers has just signed a new deal, but I don't rate him and would sell him.
The others may not achieve particularly high fees, but I feel should be moved on, as we have quite a full squad.
The reason we may have to sell Ramsey and/ or Welbeck is that are entering the last year of their current contracts and can leave for nothing at the end of their contract, whilst we should be able to get decent fees for them in this window and replace them.

Remind me of this next May.
Mu top predictions for next season is both Elneny and Chambers will increase their personal ratings amongst the majority of Arsenal fans and neutrals over the next season under Dick.
I'm split between the two as to who will be considered most improved by the end of next season, just think both have so much more to give than we've seen from them so far and strike me to have a really good attitude.

{Ed002's Note - Mu? Merrell Fankhauser?}

Having watched yesterday's macth, albeit against Borehamwood, it was noticeable that the players already look fitter, more committed and confident. I believe that Emery will improve many of the players. However, I am sceptical in regards of Chambers, hopeful I will be proven wrong.

I feel exactly the same way about Xhaka and think this time next year he will be at a different club, I just don't see the potential other than the occasional long shot or long pass which is no where near enough youve got to have a lot more than that to be a premier league player at any club let alone one hoping to compete at the top.
But time will tell and I hope to eat humble pie and admit he was much better than I thought he was and that I just couldn't see it
Chambers and Elneny for me have the ingredients but just not the right recipe at the moment which I hope Dick will give them.

RG you seem to have an unusual tendency to pick solely on Chambers. He was a bit part player hardly the main cause of our problems. He was only given a chance when someone was injured in an unsettled defence. I can't see him making the grade, but he's still young, he might, xhaka was a regular and more of a cause of our problems and he's also got a new contract, so it seems everyones getting a fresh start 😊.

I think Chambers has the attributes of a decent CB just not the know how to use them correctly Eden which is something I hope he will learn under Dick plus I think Elneny is a Jack of all trades master of none at the moment, he isn't quite good enough anywhere at the moment but he will always give you 100% whatever you ask him to do, if Dick gives him a speciality role to work on and play in I think he might well surprise a few people next season because he certainly has the heart for it and that's the hardest bit put there if it doesn't already exist while fine tuning is much more teachable.

Lots of positives coming out of our club - PR guys are doing a great job but they can only post it if it's happening.

New signings for key players
Honesty about the squad
Harder training sessions
Steve Bould actually speaking and doing stuff with players
Stuff the manager is saying:

"I want to work with him in a new way and with an ambition to xx help use his quality to get better with the team. Xx

"Xx Mesut is a very important player for me xx and we want to help him to be fine with us.

"But last season was a difficult time for everyone, not only for Mesut.

xx"The team finished sixth in the Premier League and that is not the position we want. xx

"So now we will have a new way for all the players because xx I want a team with confidence, personality, intensity and aggression, to be the protagonists in every match. "xx

Everything I want to happen with the team somewhat summarised in one quote. Sorry about the inserted "xx"S.

The rest I want is structure and discipline and leadership.

That's come through in training, the signings and that he wants 5 captains.

I am happy what I see, read and hear. If he needs time - he has mine and my support. Very excited about the changes and can't wait to see how they play COYG!

Arsenal post Arsene does seen a lot more energetic and enthusiastic for everyone right now.
You can't just demand people feel positive you have to give them reason to feel that way and Dick Sven and the club have done that this summer.
Roll on next season and let's get back to enjoying watching the Arsenal again.

No mate just encouraging and promoting we should get behind our team when they were giving their all for our country.
They weren't rite good and they might not have looked rite great but for one tournament at least they gave it their best shot at going for the full monty :-)
I'm a big fan of anyone who gives all they've got to give be it in an England or Arsenal shirt mate.
I've seen enough prima Donna's in both to last me a lifetime.

There does seem to be a strategy now and an organisation that was lacking in the final wenger years. We seem to be trying to address problems instead of fudging them. We can at least go into next season with renewed excitement. Just another holding mid, a wide attacker and the season will be ready for lift off. i'm looking forward to the new arsenal.

14 Jul 2018 12:58:03
An effective wide attacker with real pace is something we have missed for a while, but we already look a lot more balanced than we did last season.

I think Dick and Sven have done enough give people real reason to be interested and excited about next season, there are still holes to be picked over but a lot lot less than for the last 7 or 8 seasons.
Will we be champions? I very much doubt it, will we make top 4? It will be tough but I think we will compete in every game so nothing is impossible when you have 11 players doing that week in week out.

Poor Danny -

"Unai Emery punishes Arsenal striker Pierrre-Emerick Aubameyang for missing chances in training"

Bet he's nervous about returning to training if he looks om Arsenal.com πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

Be good for him mate the introduction of accountability will be good for all our players, the absence of molly codling excuses made for them when the fail to produce the required standard and simply telling like it really is can't possibly do Danny or anyone else any harm.
No more blaming refs or the fans for the players and manager failings but simple and honest evaluation of what really happend will be a very welcome change that can only be good for everyone long term.
