Wonder if our physio will take diabys spot on the treatment table or does diaby have it reserved?
You couldn't make it up could you, it seems no ones safe even when they are no longer on our pay roll.
Use our rumours form to send us arsenal transfer rumours.

come on england
Yessss 1 1 this is a different England to recent years
14 Jun 2014 22:48:06
Is vela at the WC with mexico?
14 Jun 2014 23:53:41
Long story but no he isn't .
14 Jun 2014 22:41:59
Would love to see Joel Campbell back next season. Put him on the right and play Theo up top or on the left.
14 Jun 2014 22:11:47
So after Joel Campbell's excellent performance which of our Premiership opposition is Wenger going to sell him to?
Lol I hope no one but fark you got me thinking, I would have thought it would be more whose more likely to sign him after arsene says he not good enough
14 Jun 2014 22:05:40
got to say campbell looks like he has everything we're looking for pace wise, with good vision and a nice touch, mom for me tonight
hope we get him back he could be that little magic to fill in for theo. or even off giroud.
not saying he is defo the answer but I think he plays like that for the rest of the wc I think we have to give him his shot, guess its a tricky balancing act cause what would he be like with 1 more years experience glad its not my decision
gotta say I thought costa rica were going to be the whipping boys how wrong I was, wow i'm literally eating my words
bad news is I think england could win tonight against italy
infact i'm going to call it 2-0 england vs italy :)
cheers to you all time for a cold one
14 Jun 2014 21:24:16
Do you see Wenger not buying another striker if Giroud has a good world cup campaign eds? And do you see Joel Campbell featuring for us at all next season?
14 Jun 2014 21:59:16
Another Arsenal player injured again Campbell! That makes 2 with the Ox. Unbelievable. How many do we have left out there.?
Hell of a crunching tackle I thought he got to his feet eventually? or are my beer goggles in full effect? lol
14 Jun 2014 21:53:49
Joel Campbell anyone? I hope we can get him back on side looks very sharp every time I've seen him.
14 Jun 2014 23:23:20
One for the future mate.
Future meaning next season hopefully.
14 Jun 2014 21:53:07
Whooo! Joel Campbell is what we need. surely the MoM of the match. great pass for the 3rd goal, also the finish. This guy has not scored for Costa Rica for last 3 years. And comes on and scores. Suarez must be rubbishting in his pants! I need to bite someone . JC is something special we have got. surely AW must use him in first team, if he manages work permit. or he already has ; then great!
Must be hurting the England team seeing him play for their group rivals. This guy is full of flair. with tricks as well.
cheers!
14 Jun 2014 22:09:19
Joel Campbell. is it really you?
I just started laughing when i saw the name.
joel campbell you gunner you
14 Jun 2014 21:52:50
Answer with your head, not your heart; With all the big name signings from Chelsea, Utd, City, probably Liverpool, do you horrible lot think we'll make top 4 this season? I know it's impossible to say as the window hasn't even opened yet, but it's obviously going to be a real struggle!
Always a pessimist, NE Gooner.
Yes I honestly do, if i'm honest I think Manchester United are going to be in transition for at least another 12 months if not 24
i don't see liverpool coping with 12 more games minimum
so top four is more than on, long as we sort the injuries out
14 Jun 2014 21:50:52
If this just isn't a one off performance then please eds tell me arsenal
Aren't looking to sell Campbell. Looks so impressive
14 Jun 2014 21:49:14
watching joel campbell in this match arsenal needs to bring him home he has matured a lot and I honestly think he is more composed infront of goal than giroud
14 Jun 2014 21:39:01
And Cambell can't get on the Arsenal team why??
Oh yes, he can shoot from outside the box!
Think its a Visa issue
14 Jun 2014 21:36:32
G62 and Goldboy,
Gents, I'm sorry to let you down last minute but i'm not going to be able to make our rendezvous.
For the past few days I have been having trouble with my car. It keeps losing power when moving off, not great in my profession.
Apparently, the medical term is 'kicking'. To make matters worse, my normal mechanic, the only person I trust to look at my car, flew to Spain on Wednesday. Just my luck.
I have booked it into a nearby garage, as recommended by one of my neighbours, but he will be doing it on monday
Gents, i'm normally a man of my word and I am truly sorry for letting you down at the last minute and hope you understand.
14 Jun 2014 21:52:13
Don't worry Dags. I've just texted G62 as my mum has been taken ill and I can't make it either. But we can make it another day this week or next.
No problems lads when ever your both able to make is good with me.
Golds hope your mums ok mate and its nothing to serious God bless her, best wishes to her mate.
14 Jun 2014 22:41:26
No problem mate,
Hope all's well with your mum.
14 Jun 2014 23:26:40
I can do any day week commencing Monday 23rd gents.
14 Jun 2014 20:33:58
watching uruguay vs costa rica well impressed with joel campbell think he would be another option up front instead of vela
Can you imagine Arsene letting him shoot from that range or take on that many players without passing at least 5 times on the way
Was just going to post saying how impressed I am with him. Not saying he's the answer to all our problems but he looks lively so far.
And now he's just scored a great goal! Booooom!
Great goal by campbell really can't wait to see him in an arsenal shirt
Sign him up oh we already have :-)
He does look very very good
Any stat fans know if he's played enough international games in the last 2 years to get a work permit?
He's now providing a brilliant assist pass for the third! Wenger you genius!!
Get navas the keeper for costa
{Ed002's Note - Levante goalkeeper Keylor Navas is an option for Napoli and Atletico Madrid. Additionally, Marseille, Wigan and Everton have shown interest in the player in recent months, but the strong interest from Milan has now gone. I am aware that Liverpool had the player watched earlier in the year, but a move to simply sit on the bench at Liverpool is not at all likely - he would want commitments about playing time. Levante would like to keep him but it might be difficult.}
14 Jun 2014 20:21:54
What's the deal with galindo the Bolivian attacking mid, is he staying or going? Is he any good, will he make it?
Apart from Damian Martinez who I think will be 3rd choice keeper I don't think any of the academy players will get promoted to the first team squad. With the new guy Jonkers in charge of the youngsters he will surely want time to assess them before recommending any promotions. Hopefully zelalem will go on loan. Could do with a season in the championship.
Galindo's 22 now though, I know it's not old, but it's probably getting a bit late in the day for him in terms of making it
14 Jun 2014 19:57:46
Seamus Coleman as Sagnas replacement? Considering Evertons transfer budget is usually dependant on player sales, quite a plausible story.
Plus the bought Coleman for 20p at an Irish boot fair so a massive profit might be nice for them too.
I'd love Coleman to sign for us but the tripe website that have put this rumour up today holds no real weight.
Can't see Everton selling him for less than £20-£25m and Arsene won't pay that when Aurier will be signed for £7m.
Joel Ward of palace? Looked very good under pulis at RB and can play CB well too.
Him and Jenks can fight for a starting position
Gentlemen, hands off Seamus Coleman. Last season he was the country's best RB by a mile, both in terms of his defending and as a result of the goals he scored. So whilst I can understand your need to replace Sagna look elsewhere than Goodison. This season the coffers are looking quite full so there is no need to sell. And would you be able to afford him? Martinez has already placed him in the 25/30m bracket. Happy hunting.
14 Jun 2014 19:22:12
Tought Blind looked very impressive yesterday!
Perfect if Monreal leaves .
Agreed. Thought he was outstanding at the back.
Would need to see more of him but apparently can play DM as well.
Go easy non the motd fever 95 :-)
14 Jun 2014 18:44:17
We will be signing players from the Calcio, Bundesligua and Ligue 1. There won't be move for anybody based in England or Spain. As for a keeper why sign a crap Ruddy when you can have better ones like Ospina and Ochoa on free and Ruffier fir £7 million? Be sure to keep up with the "unknown" players who have been extremely good for the last 12 months like Stambouli and co to be linked with us. Vincent Aboubakar anyone?
I actually feel quite sorry for any unheard of or unrated players we sign unless their accompanied by one or two top ones as well.
They will be given no settling in time by us and we will be looking to rip them to shreds 90 minutes into the season unless they hit the ground absolutely sprinting.
Unfair I know but frustrations with Arsene will be directed at them too and for this reason Arsene this time has to give us some sweetness to go with the sour
Ruddys better than Ruffier or Ochoa
14 Jun 2014 16:55:17
Is Jackson Martinez injured?
No. He's on the bench and has come on for the last 15mins.
I saw the second half. Was expecting him to start
14 Jun 2014 15:58:43
Oh my god why has wenger not traveled back in time and signed pele, what is he doing. He's having a nightmare. Ease up people it's not even July yet
Not even July doesn't cut it Saint.
Not being July didn't stop Chelsea signing Fabregas.
Not being July hasn't stopped City signing Sagna.
People are frustrated because transfer windows (as Arsenal fans) are the most frustrating thing to endure!
We all just want something to ease that!
{Ed002's Note - The manager is in Brazil but you would rather he not take his time to give the club the best chance possible, but just get out there and sign players, doesn't matter who, for the hell of it?}
14 Jun 2014 18:40:02
I don't see signing Cesc would have been for the hell of it tbh, it's a mistake.
He should already have a list of targets surely he doesn't wait till the season finishes to look for players
14 Jun 2014 15:13:16
Hey fellas, some morning banter from across the pond.
We've all seen some important players go to other teams and it hurts. Of your current team, mine being liverpool, who would it hurt you the most to see leave at this moment? And who would you want as a replacement? Suarez would obviously suck for us, and I would prefer balotelli. I just think br could get the best out of him. The next biggest loss would be sterling, replaced by konoplyanka, or Henderson, replaced by Lallana.
{Ed002's Note - I think you are on the wrong page TJ.}
14 Jun 2014 17:19:16
Haha cheers ed
14 Jun 2014 19:17:34
Actually I meant to post it here. Just wanted their opinion on their teams and have them my opinion of mine.
14 Jun 2014 21:40:39
TJ,
I would be gutted if Rambo left, I would never have said that 2 years ago, but he has come on leaps and bounds' and is almost irreplaceable, IMO.
15 Jun 2014 01:01:00
Cheers dags for making me feel wanted😆
So is this 'love affair' still off or has it been rekindled?
14 Jun 2014 15:21:24
Any interest in Aubameyang from AFC? Very good player à la Henry and better than Remy IMO. Available for £6million if you believe the press.
Don't let DAGENHAM GUNNER hear you say anyone is better than Remy!
14 Jun 2014 18:40:24
You tell him Greeny.
How dare he say that, Remy will be the best, trust the Dags.
14 Jun 2014 14:14:32
I have a funny feeling the player Wenger's is really holding out for is still Benzema.
He will bide his time and keep tabs and hope that a high profile signing to counter what will likely be several signings at Barca - will force Real to consider at 30mln plus offer.
As much as I would really like to see Wenger get the best out of Balotelli - this is a transfer that will never happen.
Other than that I think we will struggle to find top class attackers which are available.
Still early days, window not even "officially" open. I just sincerely hope Wenger doesn't end up buying a young central attacking midfielder ala Grenier. Not what we need!!
Billybob
14 Jun 2014 14:13:59
Eds who is most likely to replace Sagna at RB? It's probably going to be Aurier but would there be any chance of Janmaat from Feyernood? I think he'd be a quality replacement especially after his performance against Spain
{Ed002's Note - You have MOTD Fever.}
14 Jun 2014 14:07:28
I think that selling TV5 would be a mistake. He gives us strength in depth and is still a solid CB. United wouldn't be after him if he wasn't.
If we are to sell him, it should be abroad and not to any rival.
To be honest with you he is nowhere near as good as the first choice CB pairing. His confidence is low, he looks like a mistake waiting to happen everytime he plays. Good backup, can also play LB but that's it, if he wants to resurrect his career he must leave us.
Man when I think just how good was he when he first came.
14 Jun 2014 12:17:27
Personally, I think Vermaelen needs to be replaced as captain by Per Mertesacker as club captain but I think he needs to stay for at least one more season.
He's in the World Cup squad and is a good centre back who provides great back up for our preferred CB partnership. He is experienced and part of a good squad.
Losing a great servant in Sagna means that we need to keep our other experienced players together.
The way I see it, we need a back up GK, a RB to replace Sagna. A defensive midfielder to play alongside Ramsey. A wide left attacker and a striker. That's 5 signings already. If Vermaelen leaves we will need six players.
Wenger doesn't do half a dozen signings in two windows let alone one!
Perfect summer for me: Reina, Aurier, Khedira, Greizmann and Ballotelli.
P.S. One final note: Wenger has made a brave decision regarding Fabregas and he will know that he needs to pull a Ballotelli out of his hat otherwise risk the wrath of the fans just like he did before Ozil signed.
I'm not sure Arsene is afraid of what the fans think Greeny he will do what he thinks is right regardless of what we or anybody else thinks.
When it comes to big singings we seem to huff and puff before someone else nips in and blows the house down.
I'm less than confident of a happy ending to this summer window, with ok rather than exciting players joining us.
14 Jun 2014 14:26:55
We need to sign a CB regardless of if Vermaelen leaves. How did we get away with just 3 CBs this season is beyond me. We should sign a young CB like Schaar, Ginter or Stones. If Vermaelen leaved I will be very disapointed as om his day he is a top defender. Should be replaced by a experienced player such as Ashley Williams or Hangeland. Maybe even Lescott if we are desperate.
If we sign Williams, Gareth Barry etc then we don't deserve champions league football.
We are THE ARSENAL and we should be dining and buying at the top table not eating a fricking happy meal at the kids table!
14 Jun 2014 12:05:52
Fabregas, Sagna, probably Vermaelen and now maybe Cazorla. Just gets better and better!
We are rapidly turning into the Southampton of the top four!
Dont know about you but I'm sick of the sight of that 4th place trophy, they say consistency is a good thing in football, but consistently 4th is getting way beyond boring now.
G62 we are sounding similarly frustrated mate!
Greeny I really hope Arsene makes us look silly for doubting him in the week ahead and pulls off one or two deals that makes loosing Cesc to them feel ok.
We have the money and I want to be excited by the players who come in, proper excited where August 16th just can get here soon enough and start dreaming of a real title challenge that lasts into May.
At the moment I really do fear mediocre players who we are told to believe will be better than our rivals 30 million plus men given time, grrrr
G62 Completely agree mate, we had an oppurtunity to really push on last year and we couldn't manage it. The club needs to invest this year or risk losing the backing of the fans and possibly even more importantly to them that treasured fourth place trophy.
14 Jun 2014 11:52:08
The thing that frustrates me and probably all of you fellow gooners out there is the fact that we NEVER get our business done early in the transfer window or even after the window ends. Look at Chelsea. Costa is a done deal (even though it's not official.) Fabregas has "signed" and been paraded in a Chelsea shirt even though the window is closed. Sagna has signed for Man City officially even though his contract still has 16days to run! The top clubs sign players early, conclude their business and the players are then able to settle into the club and have a FULL pre-season.
We always end up with a frustrating two months of rumours and then a last minute trolley dash to sign some players. We then say oh this player will be better NEXT season when they've settled into the club and had a full pre-season.
It winds me right up! Anyone else as frustrated?!
Agreed greeny, I've been frustrated since the day fabregas became available, we seem to almost not to care, let other clubs do there thing then we only have certain options left because wenger refuses to do business early, it's not good him going to watch the World Cup to find someone only for there valuation to go up 20m!
14 Jun 2014 13:03:40
You forget, we've signed the mighty Elias Chatzitheodoridis.
Wenger's recent strategy for better or for worse is usually wait until the window is about the close in the hope of grabbing bargains.
Wenger has major FOMO issues
I'm with you 100% Greeny, I've felt as flat as a pancake since the day after Cesc signed for them.
I'm sick of watching teams who are already ahead of us strengthen further and us stand still if we're lucky.
I'll be very very happy to apologize if wrong but I expect dross rather than gloss to arrive now.
Every window I have the same optimism but the same old story plays out. Wenger HAS to make a bold statement otherwise we will slip further and further behind!
14 Jun 2014 11:14:45
Afew people have already mentioned this, but my word was V.Persie fantastic last night. He bullied a world class defence. Showed excelent technique for his first goal and strenght and energy all throughout the second half. Him, Robben and Blind were amazing.
That is what we need and misd upfront. Giroud is good, that's it. His link up play and passing are very good for a striker. However he does not perform against big teams or scare defenders. RVP terrorised Ramos and Pique, two of the top five CBs in the world. Giroud is a big guy, but he never really utilises his strenght or height. He doesn't dominate defenders, nor have the pace or skill to take them on. His finishing is good at times but a he is not clinical, he needs 5/6 chances to score.
For these reasons, I would like plus to go all out to sign one of these two Strikers. Balotelli or Jackson Martinez.
Balotelli might be as mad as a box of frogs on ketamine. But he is World class. He has all the qualities Giroud does, but add speed and amazing finishing. Only 23/24 aswell. £25m or so would be a steal. If anyone can nuture him and get him on the right track its Wenger. Mourinhio and Mancini are not man-managers. Look at Jose at Real, they hated him and he ruined Casillas's career. I know a lot of you don't want him, but you cannot deny his quality.
Jackson Martinez is immense. The guy is an animal. Strenght and Pace. Criticism he's only ever played in portugal, well look at Falcao and Di Maria. They came from Porto and Benefica. I honestly believe Martinez could be the next Drogba. he's been heavily linked with Valencia, but i'm sure we offer more in terms of salary and CL football.
Balotelli/Martinez, Aurier, Marshall, Khedira and Vela and we might just be able to compete with Chelsea/City next year.
Just want to point out that Pique has not been a top defender for years now. Ramos, yes. But it's pretty easy for good strikers to turn Pique inside out.
Plus, Walcott terrorizes defences, and Giroud enables Theo pretty well. Would be gutted if we didn't sign a new striker but it could be far worse than Giroud.
Martinez is far more like giroud than he is like Drogba.
He is a target man that doesn't have that much pace and finishes on moves. He is not a dribbler and cannot tKe defenders on.
PASS!
14 Jun 2014 14:27:40
Agree with most of what you said, but mourinho is a fantastic man manager. Ibra said he would of killed for Mourinho and I remember one of the Eds posting that mourinho is happy to sit down with opposition players to discuss their strengths and weaknesses.
14 Jun 2014 16:24:46
Have you seen Martinez play? He has raw pace. Agree he isn't much improvement in terms of taking on defenders with skill etc but his finishing is much better.
14 Jun 2014 10:15:42
Anyone seen the quotes from Mario today about wanting lose his reputation as a trouble maker and become the world's best striker? Surely if he's serious able this there are few better managers to guide him than wenger? Sign him up Arsene!
Realistically if he plays well expect PSG to come in for the player.
Note menez has already gone the other way!
Menez has signed on a free transfer after his contract ran out.
Has no link, relevance or role in a potential transfer of Ballotelli to PSG or any other club.
Just saying!
14 Jun 2014 09:42:13
I am a fan of OG but there is no doubt we urgently need another RVP AND a winger like Robben. I do believe Ozil is nowhere like his best without a striker of that calibre as he thinks faster and ahead of our current players up front. The only problem is I do not believe AW will spend such monies to bring in such a player. He is not just a manager but an economist as well and his frugality is all well and good but we need absolutely TOP players now just to keep pace with other teams. I cannot disagree with spending as little as possible but that will NOT mean we will remain an elite team in world football. Yes, we will compete in the PL but I cannot believe success will follow with this ideal unless fourth place and partial success in the CL is what this board and AW want. We all know the calibre we need but it will cost more than we are prepared to pay. I do not think AW can change his spots but let us hope he does! Come you Gunners.
14 Jun 2014 07:53:18
Here's one to think about. let's say that Balotelli has a fantastic World Cup and smashes it.
Would you think that we would still be in the running to get him or do you think his price will go up and Arsenal will then consider him too expensive and therefore he will go to another club possibly in the Premier League and which one?
Another question is. Apart from Arsene being a nightmare when it comes to trying to slash the price of players when they have one foot in the door and we end up losing the deal.
What do you honestly think our problem is when it comes to securing any top names? as it baffles me.
1) Yes his price will go up.
2) Yes he will then be deemed too expensive.
3) Which club? The usual suspects across Europe.
4) Because we don't pay the wages. If we paid 150k that would be abnormal. Others will and can go 50k-100k more, and for them that's the norm.
Flybo
On Balotelli Liverpool to replace Suarez, would seem likely if we missed out
On transfers, haggling over the odd million with clubs and on players wages. Didn't Artetta have to take a pay cut to join us from Everton.
While other big clubs often swallow their pride to get the players they want we stick to our principals and get nothing
His price of course would go up but since Milan are skint even a good World Cup plus his reputation and risk of signing his price I don't think would go above 35m
Ozil is on a basic of 150k per week so the club are willing to pay high wages.
This is why I never understand why frugal Wenger doesn't conclude busy early! ESPECIALLY in a World Cup season where prices (after a good World Cup) will be unrealistically inflated!
Sign him up and then hope he has a good World Cup and brings that form into the new season!
I still remember Gary Breen being linked to INTER MILAN on a bosman after playing well in World Cup 94 I think it was!
14 Jun 2014 00:13:48
Alexis Sanchez playing well tonight!
Nice to see him play when he's the star of the team, hard to stand out when you play with Messi and Iniesta!
Would love for us to sign him.
Well I'd love us to sign anyone!
