Is anyone nervous about tomorrow night. Lol.

Not really mate, it's a win win for us, we either progress in this season's Europa league or take the first step towards going forward again as a club.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 22:28:10
First goal will be massive.

It will either put us 3-0 up or 2-1 up.

You're welcome šŸ˜.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed0333's Note - Have sky called you to stand in for Jamie Carragher yet Dags?

15 Mar 2018 07:37:29
Amazing that despite being 2-0 up, with 2 away goals, we are still nervous. If we can score a goal, Milan will need to score 3 to win and they don't look a prolific team in terms of goalscoring.
On a separate topic, it's astounding that we seem to be prepared to let one of our best players, Wilshere, walk away for nothing at the end of the season, whilst paying inconsistent 29 year old Ozil in excess of Ā£300,000 pw. I also think we will have trouble getting Ramsey and Welback to extend their stay at the club.
Quite what squad we will be left with for next season is worrying.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Mar 2018 08:34:05
Are we saying Dags is the spitting image of Carra?

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Mar 2018 08:20:28
Ed0333,
I will be spitting feathers if I don't get the job šŸ˜.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 21:22:51
Looks like only three teams managing to keep the premier league flag flying in europe next round. With all the spouting, i had high hopes for all sides in the next round but some just don't have what it takes. Must have been out of their depth.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Mar 2018 21:41:23
Are there CL games on?
I only look at EL games nowadays šŸ˜.

14 Mar 2018 21:44:41
We are definitely in the right competition for us Steve.

Only money bags $hitty gone through = does money increase chance of success

What do you think?

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 21:56:34
Sy and liverpool, who have spent far less than us and actually gave citeh a football lesson a few weeks back.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 21:57:57
Sy, i know you have a blind spot for klopp. Lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 22:02:48
Liverpool SY.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 22:19:27
Missed that - still donā€™t want Klopp šŸ¤Ŗ.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 23:45:38
City through because of money while United are out despite the money and Liverpool Savile and co well they do count because they just throw the whole money argument complete upside down when it comes to covering up Arsenes downfalls :-)
It's money old game SY mate:-)

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Mar 2018 00:16:44
Gunner we waste our money on substandard players and then coach them badly. Not the recipe for success.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 19:16:34
Are you boys having a Klopp love-in?

I like the guy, his enthusiasm is second to none and he is a very good manager, but apart from getting Liverpool into top 4 (That, in itself, is a decent achievement) , what has he won in nearly 3 years at Liverpool? (Assuming they don't win anything this year) .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Mar 2018 19:44:32
Where were Liverpool when he took over Dags?
What shape were the squad in when he got there mate?
How much has he spent?
How much money has he brought in from sales?
2 full seasons 2 champions league qualifications only Pep will equal that as Poch and Jose's didn't and Conti looks unlikely too.
2 full seasons in comparison to Arsene?
We've dropped from missing out on champions league participation to not even being in contention for champions league qualification with 10 games still remaining
Liverpool have gone from edging into 4th last season to looking quite comfortably for top 4 this time round.
What's Klopp won?
Ok he didn't trouble Chelsea last season but who did
OK he isn't troubling City this season ( despite being the only team to beat City this season in the league) but who is troubling City this season.
Will anyone trouble City next season? Most people seem to think if anyone will it will be Liverpool
Oh and one last thing on Arsene v Jurgen
Arsene failed for 8 seasons running to get us past the last 16 in the champions league but Jurgen seems to have picked that trick up very quickly too ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 20:09:40
G62,
I agree, but until he puts a trophy in the cabinet, the jury will be out.

The same could be said about Samourinho.
When he took over at Man Utd, despite jus winning FA Cup under LVG, they were pants.

Samourinho has won EL and League Cup and has got them from finishing 5th/ 6th, to probably finishing 2nd this season, he pretty much gets them 20 more points per season than previous managers.

But, he is still lambasted (Rightly so, as Utd play boring pedestrianised football) .

So, why is Klopp regarded as the best thing since sliced bread and Samourinho slagged off, despite the latter being more successful? (Trophy wise) .

Like I said, I think Klopp is great, but I will save my "I wish he was Arsenal's Manager" comments until he wins something.

(I'm not saying you made those comments btw) šŸ˜.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 20:18:39
Who put more trophies in the cabinet over the past 4 years?

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 20:27:40
Mr Wenger.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 20:31:49
Dags if Liverpool draw Sutton and Lincoln in next seasons FA cup and go on to win it, would that make Jurgen more credible :-)
If so let's bypass Jurgen and get Bobby in from Belgium because he won the cup with Wigan ;-)

SY and the decade Arsene went without winning anything before that?
Don't tell another Dallas Booby Ewing type dream that doesn't count:-)

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 20:39:32
Roberto Di Matteo?
He's won the champions league in only one attept to :-)

Is that you on the line 62.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 20:57:48
G62,
If Klopp won the FA Cup, who they beat en route would be forgotten.

We beat Hull, Villa and Chelsea in FA Cup finals, but I'm struggling to tell you who else we beat en route in those victories, apart from Spurs, Liverpool, Everton and Man City.

It's about winning a trophy and making history, for the manager (Klopp) and his team (Liverpool) .

Like I said, I rate Klopp. I also rate Pochettino, but until they win trophies, they will not, in my opinion, be regarded in the same breath as Wenger ( I know Klopp won 2 Bundesliga titles and German Cup, but I'm talking English Prem League) .

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 21:08:56
In order Dags, who would you want manager over the next three seasons. Wenger, klopp, poch, samourinio or henry.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 21:32:30
Steve,
If I had to choose.

A) Samourinho. I don't like the bloke, or his style, but I think he will spend and address our shortcomings. I can put up with him for 3 seasons.

B) Klopp. He will spend money and play attacking football. But, will he win anything?

C) stick with Wenger. But release the purse strings.

D) Poch. But until he wins, I have doubts about him. Will he spend to strenghten our squad?
Many times he has said, "I'm happy with my squad", but everyone knows this Spurs team are not good enough to win the league and Poch hasn't addressed this problem in 3 seasons.

E) Henry. Great player, but sentiment to an old player doesn't mean he will win anything.
Arsenal is too big a team for him to cut his teeth on.

Just my opinion mate, but bloody great question.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 21:41:42
Not trying to catch you out, it was just a thought. For other teams, its trophies for some who have trophies, its something else. I think klopp and poch would win trophies at arsenal, more likely than their present clubs. I would have took sam last year, i just think he's like wenger now, being left behind. Where would spuds or pool be with him? .

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 21:47:23
Dags winning the fa cup, EL cup, doesn't make you a great team. We can prove that point. Winning the league is the pointer of the best team.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 21:53:47
Not Di Matteo then Dags? Champions league winners you know?
Ranieri? Premier league champion
Mancini? Pelgrini? Both premier champions or what about Lvg and his family cup win?
Can Klopp make Liverpool champions of England? I anyone can then yes I think he can and if he could with Liverpool then he could with have with Arsenal, but he is at Liverpool and the jobs under way while we are still not out of the blocks.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 21:55:10
Not Klopp or Jose or Henry

Vieira please or Ancelotti or Allegri- my top 3

Would like to see Wenger with unlimited funds but I think we are too far gone now and too risky as we havenā€™t learned with our defending. Wenger relies on intelligent players who use initiative or follow leaders on pitch. Not seen that since Invincibles or team with GGā€™s back 4. Somethingā€™s not right and should have addressed.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 22:31:38
Gents,
Like SY4, Allegri would be my first choice.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 17:14:08
With utd losing yesterday. Mourinho will be under pressure he is playing pants football and the utd board maybe looking for the future. This is why it is paramount arsenal sort out wengers future. With managers like ancelloti allegri and simeone flirting with the premiership we have to act fast or lose out to teams like utd if they react to mourinhos poor form. We made a mistake a few years ago by missing out on klopp who went to liverpool.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Mar 2018 17:23:04
And what has Klopp won at Liverpool, whilst Wenger picked up 3 FA Cups. Apparently he is as clueless tactically as Wenger.
As and when Wenger departs my first choices would be Simeone and Allegri, if we are able to get either of them.

Agree2 Disagree1

14 Mar 2018 17:26:20
Was thinking the same, ed02 made a comment on another page that United are happy with Mourinho which is a plus.

Some how though I just canā€™t see Wenger letting go so in reality will it matter who goes where for at least 18 months.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 18:08:55
Totally agree Klopp was the perfect man for us and he would have got the Emirates rocking if anyone could.
What's Klopp won at Liverpool RG? 3 fa cups in 4 years? Sorry mate but that's a Ridiculous reply.
Look at where Liverpool were 2 and half years ago compared to Arsenes Arsenal? Klopp and Liverpool have come from way behind and overtook us in his first full season there spending how much to achieve that achievement in the minimum possible time? Then this season left us behind like a bullet train v tram and net spend for Arsene and Jurgen?
Liverpool are very much in the ascendency under Klopp while Arsenal are in free fall under Arsene RG.
Klopp for us was very much the one that got away.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 18:50:04
Agree gunner, including you, a few of us on here championed klopp. We would be in a great position now, if we had got him. A missed opportunity for sure, Liverpool are lucky but he would have had greater scope with us.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 19:21:20
Have to agree with you g62 (I donā€™t have to but do šŸ˜‚) klopp was always the man I wanted but horse and bolted. Mourinho wonā€™t be going anywhere soon. I fully expect us to sort out a manager this summer. Chelsea could well be looking at a new manager. I doubt Ancelotti will be their choice or accept an offer. Despite the doom and gloom Arsenal is a great prospect for incoming manager we are not a million miles away (although it seems that way) From the backroom staff and something I believe ed01 mentioned we are working on a better infrastructure behind the manager And I for one are hopeful that we can get back on track in the next few seasons. Ideally next season transition, season after full on assault.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 19:27:17
Steve I love what Klopp is doing on the pitch with Liverpool but it's his off the pitch attitude that impresses me every bit as much.
He told Sturidge he had to play through the pain of minor injuries and raised the bar for everyone at the club including the Kopp who he demanded 90 minutes of support from and why did everyone take notice of him? Because he led by example giving 90 minutes 100% effort on the sideline showing passion commitment and determination throughout each game.
If anyone could have broken up the cosy club at Arsenal and woken up the Emirates it was Jurgen Klopp.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 20:23:52
I think most of us think Jurgen was a big miss Sanogo mate but your right mate that ship has sailed and we need to learn from our mistake and not repeat it this summer too.
I do think it's a huge job getting up back on track and into top 4 contention again, maybe I'm wrong but I just can't see very much to build on from what we have, Sanchez has gone Cech Kos Monreal are all aging fast now which leaves us struggling for one single player who has consistently done it in an Arsenal shirt.
Maybe a new man will come in and turn us round much quicker than I imagine ( hope so) but even if it takes time I will back him 100% for 3 seasons even if the first 2 seasons show no obvious improvement in league position, i'd just love to see someone similar to Jurgen on the sideline who who is almost as animated as him and gets our fans and players all sharing his passion, i'd love to see the Emirates become a place full of passion commitment and togetherness both on the pitch and in the stands with everyone giving 100% for 90 minutes .

I know this isn't Arsenal related but I can't believe Southampton are looking to Mark Hughes as their new manager.

They've done so well it would be a shame to lose them from the Premiership.

I just don't get why clubs keep employing people like him, Pardew, Allardyce, Pulis etc.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I am absolutely flabbergasted myself. There are so many better options out there, ones who don't mind developing youth players, why settle for a proven failure? Just shows why they are struggling, the people running the club know f all about football.}

14 Mar 2018 17:21:57
I said similar a few weeks ago.

It staggers me how the likes of Allardyce, Pulis, Pardew and Moyes get continued employment, despite continued under achievement and an annual flirtation with relegation.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 17:24:53
The problem is that it isn't easy to manage in the Premiership and hence why the same managers go round and round. Who, that is available and would work under the same financial restrictions that previous managers have, would be a better option?

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2018 17:38:46
Thatā€™s what amazes, heā€™s done absolutely nothing yet keeps getting jobs.

What do you think of Marco Silva ed01?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - in answer to RG61 first, all of those managers have had plenty of money to spend, in comparison to most, but the more they have spent the worse they have made their teams.

As for Silva, I am not convinced by him at all. He is like a better version of Pardew for me. Gets his team playing well going forward but they are alway shambolic at the back. It was nothing to do with Everton that Watford fell apart, it was simply that his lack of tactical acumen and inability to organise a defence was found out.}

14 Mar 2018 18:53:14
Thanks ed01 appreciate the reply. Itā€™s so easy to get sucked into the hype surrounding some managers and players.

I really like the insights you give in replies and the daily reviews, not sugar coated with press type bowlocks. šŸ‘šŸ¼.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate, though, for me, that is sugar coated!}

14 Mar 2018 19:33:38
Whilst your around can you give your opinion on nagglesman! Lots of buzz surrounding him. Has he got the factor or is it to early to say. Maybe a stint at a larger German club ala Dortmund, shalke etc first? Or could he step straight into a top 4 prem club? Thanks in advance.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I like him a lot. The reason behind Bayern looking to hold onto Heynckes a bit longer is to give Nagelsmann another year before they swoop. They need to hope someone else doesn't nip in while they are holding off because of his age. That is the big issue surrounding him at a bigger club - how much would his youth hinder him when dealing with the huge egos? No one knows yet because he has not really had to deal with them so far. He probably needs to step up a bit to a club with those kind of egos, a team such as Stoke would have been perfect for him to prove himself in order to be given a chance with a big club.}

14 Mar 2018 11:34:05
What has happened to raver61? He seems to have disappeared.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Mar 2018 13:10:57
He's busy enjoying his euro millions win on an exclusive Caribbean Island mate, he said something about being back in touch when his Ā£120 million runs out or we get a new manager, which ever comes first.
I reckon we will here from him in the next decade or so because the Raver is more than capable of partying Ā£12 million a year easy :-)

Nice read again ed, I didnā€™t really take any notice of that Greek football story when it came out so googled it after I read this and canā€™t believe he actually ran on to the pitch with that gun on his waist band!

Mourinho continues to talk utter rubbish, Seville where hiding the ball?

I take it youā€™re not a fan of the prize plum Collymore either. šŸ˜‚.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you never read the review of the day when I did a piece on the Greek story then??? Stoner I am hurt! I will be sniffling all day now....

I hate Collymore, he is a vile little prick who lies through his teeth constantly.}

14 Mar 2018 08:06:51
What can I say ed01, Iā€™ve just done 4 early shifts and missed it! Been back and read it though and glad I did as interesting to see the Reiss Nelson story also having seen Madrid, I think, are interested in him.

He looks so much better than Iwobi, itā€™ll be criminal if we lose him.

As for Collymore punching Ulrika and kicking her afterwards whilst she was on the floor did it for me. Total knob.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - agreed on Nelson, looks quality.}

14 Mar 2018 09:16:39
I struggled to watch united game last night mainly because of steve macmananon. I donā€™t know why but he really annoys me. Agree Collymore is an absolute weirdo.
