Has anyone heard from graham souness? 5 goals already for a 'I don't know what he is midfielder'. I'll tell you what he is graham, an arsenal one, and a god damn beast. Get in rambo.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Love this post. Graham Souness doesn't know a good thing when he see's it. Ramsey was the heartbeat of the team with Ozil, and arguably the last 2 or 3 games. His confidence is truly showing what kind of player he can become.

Great win today, feels great to be top of the table for a bit.

Shame about Cazorla though, Wenger says he should be out for about a month; "Cazorla has an ankle problem. He will be out for a few weeks as well. I don't think he will play before the next international break."

With Giroud picking up a knock, athough I think he is ok from reading his twitter, our squad is getting dangerously thin - not what you need with games coming thick and fast at the moment.

I don't want to over egg the biscuit, but we are one striker in Jan short of a very very good team. In fact, even we stayed injury free we could win the title. Ramsay, Giroud, Ozil getting the plaudits but Flamini doing a massive job in front of the back four.

1 game back after a 2 week break and people question kos! seriously folks get a grip anyone can have a bad game, playing with an unformilure centre back

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Fair point, I have expressed concerns about his lack of calm even though I think he is our best CB but having vermaelan back won't hurt to just in case he needs a breather

Been a while since I posted!

Absolutely BUZZING! Had the best night last night, worst hang over today and then Arsenal go and do that, absolutely amazing!

I don't care what anyone says, this team digs deep and the moral amongst the team is tangible. Everyone is working for everyone else in the team.

Amazing to see Rambo win the Aaron Ramsey Award AGAIN - I never in a million years thought he would be the kind of player that would flourish at Arsenal but since about March Ramsey has been unreal. He's won more MOTM awards than any other player. I used to say he was never going to be what we need but he's proving me wrong every week, effing love the guy. Hard work pays off - I wasn't willing to accept how long he needed to get back to form, I thought what we were seeing the season before WAS his best form, which wasn't good enough.

The guy I'm worried about is Jack. His style invites a kicking every game, it's worrying. He's so good on the ball but he never shoots and he loses the ball a stupid amount. I read a stat that last season he lost the ball more times than any other player yet he only played half the season - someone needs to tell him to calm down and use his head more!

But that's really all there is to gripe about, we not be like CFC, MUFC and MCFC etc but I love this team and love how well the team get on. The vibe at the club is unreal!

The other two things I was buzzing about apart from Rambo's goal spree is Giroud's away goal in the league (yesss!) and Ozil's assist. He had an amazing game!

Things are great and we're top of the league as well, doesn't get much better of a weekend! Now all we need to for Swansea to do a job on the scousers and things are the best they've been for a while.

Awesome day!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's great to see people giving Ramsey credit and admitting they underestimated him! Great post again mate.

Ross Barkley reminds me of wilshere abit, he runs at defenders and get free kicks a lot. Hopeful that he can kick on and get back to his best soon enough.

great result and great team performance. could have been better, some players were off key today but that's why its a "team game". maybe 1 or 2 more additions but I think this team can go along way. too early to predict winning anything but I think we could/should be in the mix by end of season. I listened to the game on radio and I didn't even think about the loss of cazorla, its a good sign when one of your best players is out injured and you don't even "notice" the difference. pleased as punch.

I'm trying to not get carried away with Ozil, Giroud Ramsey whole top of the table team thing but I'm am going to write Arsene a hand written letter in May congratulating him on the tittle and on him being right all along and I'm going to hand it to him personally at the champions league final

Kos is costing us goals with his tackling in the box, excellent result otherwise, Ozil looks a class apart, Ramsey is oozing confidence as is Giroud.
The balance looks good, Mertersacker will come back in next game, the team is settling in with promise.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hopefully verm getting back can keep kos on his feet.

Agree0 Disagree0

1st I am 8 pints in but there was NOTHING wrong with Kosi tackle there is a something wrong with that ref.
Looked a fairly decent tackle to me 3 pints in.
2nd Kosi is our best C/B simple as that.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's our best cb no doubt. But it was a penalty. He went in when there was no need to, he was running away from goal, and kos didn't get any of the ball.

14 Sep 2013 17:12:49
No doubt that he is a quality player, but in our own box does anyone think that koscielny is a bit of a liability?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He's got to stop leaving his feet. Period

He's gotten comfy in his position

Time for Tommy V to add that element of competition to boost BFG and Kos

Agree0 Disagree0

He is quality but maybe needs some time out to calm down and compose himself. I rate him as our best CB but if vermaelan is fit might be time to give him a chance and Kos a break

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh have always thought that. very good defender but very rash. always liable to concede a penalty or get sent off, or both. apart from that, top quality defender who always gives 100%

Agree0 Disagree0

He's either plays fantastic or has a bit of a mare. Never in between. He'd be top, top quality if he could cut out the rash decisions.

3 points in the bag. Ozil was good. Ramsey is still in great form. Walcott was pretty bad and Giroud grabbed another one. Not a bad day.

I think all the people who slaughtered Ramsey should now post an apology immediately!

RAMBOOOOOOO!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

5 goals this season.

3 goals in the whole of last season, he's been amazing this season. Come in Rambo!

Agree0 Disagree0

I fail to se why anyone should apologize for saying that he was crap for many games early last season. If someone does something really bad and people say "that was bad" should those people apologize when that person does anything good after that? Grow up mate

Agree0 Disagree0

So pleased for him AND us too.The boy deserves this he has worked so hard to have this praise now couldn't he happier for him and the club . TOP OF THE LEAGUE

Agree0 Disagree0

Be nice if you could say how pleased you are for him now and how much he has improved though Swede. I am desperately looking forward to being proved wrong by a player who I don't rate at present. We are all on the same side at the end of the day and want what's best for the team

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice reply gunner62.

It's amazing too see everyone jumping on the Ramsey wagon. And it's amazing to see him smiling and playing with such confidence.

He's got himself of my shirt for the second season running now :)

Agree0 Disagree0

I have in the past criticised ramsey on many occasion but he is turning out to be top dollar. keep up the good work aaron, u deserve the plaudits

Agree0 Disagree0

Total respect to you akie and all others who have bought Ramsey shirts before this season started and yourself DG for being prepared to let a player change you opinion of them. Surely that's what its all about for us all. If that Bergkamp fella had come good I would have been more than happy to admit I was wrong about him, there were a couple of times I thought he might come good but na

Agree0 Disagree0

Looks like you're on your own Swede, as for the 'grow up' comment that's just petty mate.

As pointed out last season he was'nt that bad, he was played out of position and he still gave 110%, it was d***heads like you in the crowd (if you've ever been to a game) slaughtering him that knocked his confidence.

It is funny being told to grow up by someone named after a vegetable though! Maybe when you grow up you'll be called Turnip.

My god as Arsenal fans are we so fickle as to b**ch and moan about this player and that player because we have now got Ozil in the team?

Yes Cazorla will probably have to play on the wing, oh no woe is me :( I bet Cazorla was cursing Wenger for bringing in a world class player that will improve the team and his chances of winning silverware.

We were all crying out for money to be spent and now that it has all the majority can do is moan that we didn't need him, what team in the world wouldn't want Ozil? Granted he is probably not what we most needed at this time but not all of our midfield can last the season, nor are Rosicky or Arteta getting any younger.

Do you think that any world class striker at any club is going to say now that I wouldn't like to play for them with Ozil, Cazorla, Ramsey, Wilshere and Walcott supplying him with quality, I bet even Judas is a bit green with his premier league medal and no SAF to pat him on the head.

A bit of long rant but I just needed that off my chest as I am sick of all the negativity on this page over the summer and the last week or so as I have been filled with renewed optimism in the Arsenal for the first time in years and don't want it slowly drained from me by reading this page, Let it go for goodness sake and let's get behind the team, Then in january and let's see can we get in a world class striker :)

Regards, a happy gooner for the first time in a long time :)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Trev I think your right and wrong mate. Your 100% right Ozil is a truly fantastic signing and I am one of the vast majority from what I have read who like you couldn't be happier about such a world class joining us. Where your wrong mate is confusing a few moaners with the majority who are still haven't stop smiling since we got him. Hi eds any chance of a pole on this?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think most gooners are delighted with the signing of ozil- just a few unbelievably moaning about it.

Also, let's not forget cazorla played mainly on the wings before coming to arsenal- its wenger who has played him through the middle.

Remember some people's knowledge doesn't go beyond that of fifa games, etc. The majority of arsenal fans are over the moon with ozil.

Agree0 Disagree0

1 0 Ozil assist Giroud scores best we get used to hearing that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gunner62, yes it is my first internet rant ever so is probably half digested and not very well laid out or worded, I know there are plenty of us delighted to have him, but the negative people seem to be a very vocal bunch unfortunately.

Congratulations to Ozil on his first assist :) COYG!

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair play Trev mate I post loads of stuff that when I read it back I think I could have put that loads better, keep posting mate the more the merrier, all honest opinions are valid even if we don't always agree with them. Good news is any moaners will stay quite for a bit after today and we go top so no one has any reason to moan at all. Well done lads and of course Arsene who I haven't always agreed with on every thing take all praise Mr Wenger you had to take the stick so good for you

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that most Arsenal fans are getting too caught up in traditional positions.

I think we are going to play a fluid system with our four best creative players on the pitch most of the time barring injury and/or being rested (those 4 players being Ozil, Wilshere, Ramsey, and Cazorla). Not bad considering we have Rosicky and Arteta who can slot in.

I do not think that Wenger believes in the traditional positions LW / RW AM. as he believes more in tactical fluidity.

You would think playing our four most creative players would lead to us being too narrow, but that's where we rely on Gibbs / Monreal and Jenko / Sagna to offer width. I assume that the other midfielders will also drift out to the touchline when the ball is played there like Ramsey did today when creating that chance for Giroud.

Flamini / Arteta will be important to shore up behind the four creative players and Walcott / AOC's pace will be important to discourage a team from making it too congested (as we need space between the lines) whereas Giroud will be important to offer an out ball long and, of course, to keep scoring.

Just my two cents.

That is just how I see it.

Top of the league at least until tomorrow.

Let's keep this run going.

The Ramsey debate. Somebody posted on here why Ramsey gets stick?. Well let's have it right no Arsenal fan wants to slate their own players to start with. But, unless we are stupidly blinded there is nothing wrong with criticising our own players if we feel they are playing unusually bad and last season Ramsey was just that, so far this season he seems to have got his act together and is playing really well. As far as Jack is concerned we are all aware he is a great talent no doubting that, my only concern with him is can he last without major injuries time and time again and my gut feeling is no. When I first saw him play when he was 16 at a carling cup game at the Emirates I said to my friends that he was going to pick up some bad injuries due to the way he goes in for a ball. Yes I believe he is injury prone very much so and I sort of blame the Arsenal staff for that as they should have nipped it in the bud in training as to how he tackles. I also think Javk is also very conscious of injuries and it affects his game. Unfortunately we cannot do without him . There are some people who say we should have sold Jack and took the money and run! brought in a couple of 20 to 30 million pound players with the money before we regret it. I sit on the fence with that one I'm not sure. But one thing is obvious any more injuries and you wouldn't be able to give Jack away for free.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

All are entitled to an opinion on players and their performance my disbelief is that some people think Ramsey should be dropped now we have Ozil. Let's judge all players on their present and recent form be it a player we always liked or some one we are not that keen on. I don't rate Szczesney as any where near good enough to win things with but others think he is fantastic, 4 or 5 games with no erratics or blunders and I will be happy to think he maybe going to prove me wrong and be glad to post it

A guy I think called EDDIE5555 used to post the same stuff about Jack.

Indeed he did Stoner.

Very weird.

Could this be another conspiracy?

Maybe he is couped up in a remote log cabin with Champagne Charlie, Malaga and a few others plotting to take over the world

Wow you guys must sit there making diaries and cross checking posts as to who said what and when. Have you ever thought of joining the old bill? I've only been on this site about 3 months and it just so happens that my name is Sam and I was born on 5th May 1955 hence the SAM5555 So it is a coincidence if anyone had a similar name on here I wouldn't know. I could have used the name Ted too that was my dads name but I might have got accused of being another Ted on here!

I don't want to be critical but can anybody tell me why we bothered to sign Sanogo apart from the fact he was free. Even at his last club he was always injured and I've seen him play in internationals and the cameo performances for us and he is all over the place. I really hope I'm missing something here.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Do you think Diarby doesn't get lonely. Be fair

Agree0 Disagree0

Did you watch him play for France in the U19 World Cup? He was their top scorer. Maybe not their best player but he played well. Give him time, he's been here all of five minutes.

Agree0 Disagree0

All the young players that came good at arsenal under wenger all had that 'spark' so you would know they had potential, fair enough sanogo is only young and could still come good, I just don't see it happening either tbh.

Seemed all over the place like you said, and didn't have anything in his locker, lacked speed, strength and confidence it seemed.

Ill still get behind him whenever he plays.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh give him time. to be honest, what's the problem is he was a freebie?.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ted I don't know you mate but god you are argumentive. Don't mind me asking but how old are you. I get the feeling you are late 60s into your 70s . I'm mot trying to be rude here it's just that your posts give that impression. A bit cantankerous .

Hey goners,

I'm sure this has been covered on the thread, but I've been away all week and haven't checked the site, so apologies if this is redundant.

Where are we going to play Ozil? I assumed he would take over the CAM role pushing Caz out wide left. But some disagree and see Ozil as more of a winger apparently.

What's the general consensus here?

Hope we get to see him tomorrow, be a shame if illness keeps him out.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

When speaking about willshere and ozil playing in the same team Wenger said he see's willshere as a deeper player these days with ozil behind the striker. Whilst some circumstances will mean he sometimes plays on the wing, my guess is he will play cam the majority of the time. I am now thinking it will be rosicky who loses his place.

I think zil and Cazorla will rotate and swap during a game. But on the team sheet it will say zil CAM/CF and Cazorla LM/LW. With Santi being more or less two footed he will play on wing. Plus he and Monreal link up superbly on the left.
