Arsenal fans that sold their tickets should get a 10 year ban. I've sent my son and his mates, and he says it is nasty.
I know the person that's 3 seats away so I, lol be speaking to him.

I agree. Kohln should be kicked out of the competition. The policing and stewards all need investigating to.

If you look at it objectively the number of Colonge fans will have shocked everyone.
The best example I can think of is if Leeds were to return to European football after a 25 year gap, huge club and fan base that has been without such nights for a generation.
The fans turned it into a party and few could would have expected the share numbers to turn up as they did.
The stewards wouldn't have been trained for or capable of coping with such a situation.
The police? Well although they must have been aware of the potenial situation they can't be everywhere at once and in the world we live in how could they simply drop all they are doing else where to prevent things happening on a daily basis and respond to this situation.
Fans? Should they have sold their tickets? No, would they do the same again given the outcome of what they helped to create by selling them? I doubt it.
If someone offered you £1000 for your ticket would your immediate thought be " I can't do this for safety reasons? " Or would you think wow £1000, that's a holiday or a new sofa or whatever, on the spur of the moment I doubt anyone was thinking "I don't care about safety
I will take the money ' or 100% straight and with the benefit of that fantastic thing called hindsight everything is easy.
Last night was an extremely unusual situation ( who takes 25,000 fans to an away game in a different country on a Thursday evening ) .
Lessons need to be learned by everyone but it's all to easy to look back with hindsight and point fingers.
It was simply a crazy situation that no one expected and how could they have done?
The club the fans uafa all need to look at what happened and learn from it but then again when will this unique set of circumstances come up next, 25 years time?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - with the amount of surveillance we all live under now, there is no way the police would not have known this was going to happen days in advance, with the flight/ferry/train info they have to hand. That is even before they left Germany they would have had some idea that it was happening with the intelligence network they have now.

Then there is the fact that London is the centre of the CCTV world, there are more cameras in London than anywhere else in the world. So the police knew exactly what was going on. There really is no excuse for it descend into chaos.}

15 Sep 2017 09:41:39
All true Ed but there is only so far they can spread themselves.
Should the German authorities have let so many travel without tickets?
But then again are the German authorities entitled to refuse people to travel to London without a ticket for a football match that they may or may not be planning to attend?
With hindsight if the share volume of numbers planning to travel was known in advance then a fan park with giant screens might have been the answer to entice them away from the ground without tickets?
I know ideally mistakes wouldn't happen but sometimes in my opinion the only thing we can all do is learn from them, including the fans who I'm sure weren't thinking of the potenial consequences of selling their tickets at the time but who have seen the results now and should be more socially aware in the future having now had the chance to reflect.
I just think blame is such an easy game to play where everyone passes the parcel where instead a collective acceptance and learning is much more productive for the future.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - but the police have been here a millions time before in big games and still haven't learnt, even after killing 96 innocents they have learnt nothing. There used to always be a cordon around the grounds so you had to produce your tickets to get through, sometimes 3 or 4 times, to continue. That would have fixed this problem easily. They still do it for things like Old Firm games in Scotland. So, once they had an idea of the huge numbers travelling, all the police had to do was put up a cordon and direct the ticketless fans away. Simple really. It is something that has been used regularly in England for football matches in the past.}

15 Sep 2017 12:55:22
Do you know what ed I was stood outside last night and the same thing crossed my mind about the police and hillsbrough. As for fans not supposedly been allowed in the home end that's nonsense koln fans were coloured up and there was loads in the north bank and that's opposite the away fans end and stewards were letting them in. Police in and around the stadium but mainly towards the pub and food areas were clearly turning a blind eye. The same thing happened after FA cup final. Some Chelsea fans pissed up after game attacked two teenage Arsenal fans waiting for the tube and two police officers just walked passed and up an escalator clearly saw what was happening and thought better of it!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - the problem is a lot of the police still see football fans as the enemy and trouble, rather than just a group of people that might have some idiots amongst them.}

15 Sep 2017 13:22:56
That's it in a nutshell ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it is quite sad really as they then cause a resentment and bitterness which breeds later troubles between police and football fans.}

15 Sep 2017 13:46:47
It is indeed ed and like you say about been the odd idiot amongst thousands of good fans you get the same with the police the odd over zealous moron that light the touchpaper.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - very true.}

RG61 and raver, will the two of you just get it on and get it over with please? All these public displays of affection are actually making me very nauseous.

Raver: I got a subaru vroom vroom
RG61: I have a porsche
Raver: Your back seat is uncomfortable
RG61: Yes, but getting in the back of your mum's car while she's driving is making me uncomfortable.

Have neither of you heard of a Premier Inn?

RSharpe - raver61 and a premier inn? The though makes me feel rather unwell.
Surely you would know it would be a 5 star hotel and a supermodel for RG61.

It would be interesting to know what fellow toots on the toot page thing of raver61, not that I would ever stoop as low as to embarrass myself on their page.

Not sure how I would know "it would be a 5 star hotel and a supermodel for RG61". Firstly, I don't know you and secondly, anyone who speaks about themselves in the 3rd person is more than a bit removed from reality. Read into that what you will.

Oh and:

1. The though makes me feel rather unwell.
The WHAT makes you unwell?

2. It would be interesting to know what fellow toots on the toot page thing of raver61
I'm pretty sure they don't THING of raver at all.

Charity shield
Xmas raffle ( my mistake you won one )
Yes you are right to say Sanchez the snake and ozil are leaving on a free.
I see rose, Toby all won't out, new stadium no money.
You would take our last twenty years as your next. so it called success.
Yes raver, your club is built on sand, it rises, but it always crumbles. secrectly your none by other clubs . As the Mr Kipling of football.

He's playing champions league football R. G., all you've got to look forward to tonight is Europa league or Eastenders lol, I see ozil is joining Sanchez in the summer and wants out asap and you say spurs are in pain, I really enjoyed our big signings looking world class last night in aurier and Sanchez to make us even stronger than last year. The facts are R. G. we are smashing German heavyweights in the champions league with a class squad and you are smashing German minnows on a Thursday night with a poor squad bar Sanchez.

Let's judge Ox wisdom in May and Lacasette too as I'm sure people were equally questioning his wisdom in joining us as he sat on the bench v Liverpool :-)
Early days boys let's take another look at Lukaku Ox Lacasette and how all the othe players who moved this summer are doing by January before declaring anyone the bargain of the season or the biggest waste of money.

Agree3 Disagree0

14 Sep 2017 10:34:07
Oh dear raver61 embarrassing yourself yet again. Last season you showed your CL prowess to perfection, demoted to the EL at the group stage and failing at that too. As for players departing, a friend of mine knows Toby Alderwierald and he is extremely unhappy with his low salary at the team of failure and apparently many other players think likewise.

Alli is getting a new agent as he prepares to move on in his career to a team that can actually win something. Danny Rose stated that he wasn't happy with his salary and lack of trophies. At least the Arsenal players have won 3 FA Cup and 3 Community Shield medals over the last 4 seasons, compared to zilch at the toot. Other than a few desperate toot fans no ones will remember or care about 2nd place last season, but our trophy wins are in the history books for eternity.

How much longer will toot fans put up with no trophies? A manager that has been at the club since 2014 and won absolutely nothing, maintaining his 8 year managerial trophy haul of absolutey nothing. As you well know the pain at the lane and Wembley just goes on.1961!

14 Sep 2017 10:39:41
Sanogo, I still haven't a clue what you are harping on about, your use of the English language is odd in the extreme and makes little sense. Perhaps someone could decipher his comment for me. Please don't bother trying to explain yourself Sanogo, as it will only complicate matters further and I have enough to amuse me whilst trying to work out the drivel raver61 spouts.

Agree2 Disagree4

14 Sep 2017 10:47:29
Raver61 - Pochettino is the 5th longest serving PL manager. He has been managing the toot for over 3 years and has won absolutely nothing, no wonder you are thrilled with last night's win. 1961, yes over 56 years of abject failure.

R. G. is biting extremely well at my spurs comments as ye knows his club are finished, ozil has said this morning he'll be walking out on Arsenal in the summer for nothing along with Sanchez as the club are going nowhere. As for champions league failures you are the mighty kings of it, 20 years and you have done nothing but watch Chelsea, Utd, Liverpool lift the big ears trophy instead of you. You have also suffered the biggest loss by an English club in the champions league Las year by losing 10 -2 against Munich lol, I can't wait to entertain that gorgeous wife of yours later while you are over the library watching European dross football.

It's like feeding strawberrys to a donkey, raver.

Agree2 Disagree3

14 Sep 2017 16:06:39
Raver61 - If you supported one of the big teams such as Man U, Chelsea or Man City, there may be a point in visiting an Arsenal site to attempt to wind our fans up, but these fans are not idiotic enough to do so, as they have won trophies and don't need to. Comparing the toot to Arsenal since the early 1980's is a fruitless task for Toot supporters, as Arsenal have won many trophies during those years, opposed to the toot that have won virtually nothing during the last 30 years, have never won the PL and you have to go back nearly 60 years for your last league title. Last season was your best season since the last false dawn under Redknapp and even then you won nothing, whilst we picked up the FA Cup, followed by the Community Shield. As far as Champions League go we have reached a final and have appeared in it consistently for over two decades. Quite what motivates you to continually make a fool of yourself on an Arsenal site is beyong any comprehension. Even though I could mercylessly wind up toot fans on their page, I wouldn't bother as it serves little purposes and is embarrassing.

Sanago - what level of education did you reach? I fail to understand anything you say. Latest effort 'strawberries (correct spelling) and donkey'. I can only assume you to be raver61's identical 10 year old twin, who sensibly supports Arsenal.

1. beyong any comprehension
2. I could mercylessly wind up toot fans.

Agree1 Disagree1

14 Sep 2017 17:58:04
RSharpe - Perhaps it's only me, but I can't fathom out what Sanogo's comments mean. In respect of raver61, quite what motivates a fan from a club that has been in our shadow for decades to post on this site, simply beggars belief. I have decided that the standard reply to comments aimed at me from the imbecile from the lane, will simply be answered 1961. This is suitablably accurate and the halfwit twill hopefully understand the futility of his drivel.

14 Sep 2017 18:08:56
RG61, your spelling errors don't bother me one iota. I'm just pointing out, dodgy phone that doesn't have spellcheck notwithstanding, you make as many spelling and grammatical errors as the rest of us.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Sep 2017 18:29:49
RG61, I'm going to be brutally honest with you because I think you'll appreciate it. Maybe not today, but some day, you will.

Most of the regular posters here seem to get on swimmingly with raver. It doesn't matter if his team have won or lost, he comes in here and either heckles us or takes his dues if his team have lost.

He KNOWS his team haven't won the title (or anything really) in several decades and yet he comes here, takes the abuse and doles it out too.

You on the other hand, repeats the same tired line about 1961. Saying it once is banter, saying it every time you post about him however is just you telling the rest of us that you don't have anything intelligent to say.

With regards Sanogo, all I can ask is, why the f**k would you correct someones grammar or spelling if you can understand it well enough to correct them in the first place?

Oh and I dinnae have any issues understanding Sanogo.

Long story short, he called you a strawberry eating donkey.

Well in all honesty Sharpie I never read anything intelligent from raver either. Crap about Subaru, too much smoking and drinking. same stuff all the time. Sharpie you summed R. G. up in your post above, you are spot on that I give banter and when my team gets smashed I'm the first to take all the stick that comes my way. R. G. Says he doesn't understand why a spurs fan comes on this site its called BANTER and many of Arsenal fans are always on our site doing the same thing as me. I like all the posters on this page and other clubs pages but R. G. is the only one I can't get on with.

guys what would be ideal squad for today. s Europa clash.
Ospina
chambers. Mustafi. monreal
Nelson. elneny. Wilshere kolasinac
Walcott. iwobi
Giroud.

Indiangunner - Probably correct except the following may play: Sanchez, Mertesacker and Maitland-Niles.
My selection:
Ospina
Chambers Mertesacker Holding
Debuchy (won't happen, but I am not sure about Nelson defensively - Wenger most likely to play Maitland-Niles) Elneny Wilshere Monreal (I wouldn't play him against Chelsea, as I would play Mertesacker in his place and Kolasinac at LWB)
Walcott Sanchez
Giroud

This selection shows the strength in depth of our squad, as we could rest the entire first 11 who could play on Sunday and we still have some useful players who could be on the bench tonight or injured: Nelson, Coqulein, Cazorla, Reine-Adelaide, Akpom, Maitland-Niles and Iwobi.
