Just got back from the game tonight. I don't know how he came over I on TV. But I thought Kallstrom was quality tonight. Very aware and a solid player. He played like someone that had been in the team for a while. If I did not know better I would never have thought this was his first full game. If this is anything to go by then I believe he could be an awesome player for us at the moment. I look forward to seeing more of him. He would be my Man Of The Match tonight.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agreed, thought he was great tbh a fitted in really well

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree Gold's.

He wasn't spectacular but was solid.

Agree0 Disagree0

Brilliant positive post GOLDBOY, kallstrom did excellent.

Hi eds, probably just pure hope but if wenger leaves is there a chance maybe either Henry or bergkamp will come in as manager or even one manages and ones assisstant? Would be great

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I wouldn't think there is any chance.}

Good result and job done tonight. Was confident once we scored before half time.

I thought Vermaelen was excellent tonight. He's in the groove having played 5 games on the spin.

Podolski had a very good game and showed he's an excellent finisher.

Cazorla (who I don't know why) but seems to attract stick was brilliant. I think he's a creative livewire who played really well in the number 10 position.

I think Vermaelen, Podolski, Sagna are players we MUST keep to have squad depth. Yes we need signings but these guys know the answer way and are good quality players!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

TV5 had a good game, still think he'd make a excellent CDM

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it was our chief man over at who rightly stated that playing out of and receiving from defence are two very different skills

Agree0 Disagree0

@1404 TV5 at CDM could be interesting, I'm curious why Arsene has never experimented with this before?

He's obviously a player who thrives on confidence, remember when he first arrived! If we can get his confidence up and get him a few games in the centre maybe he can make the transition. LB is certainly not his best position and there's no way he's removing Kos from the centre of defence.

Maybe the new manager will empower him to move to CDM.

Good 3pts for us,

Come on Palace

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i just hope they roll over like west sham.. :)

15 Apr 2014 22:13:50
Is it me or does it seem like a lifetime before we actually won a league game?

Maybe a four four two with Poldolski and Giroud would have been better over March/ April.

At least Ramsay is back, Kos is back and Ozil Sunday. What we could have done with a full squad and WC Striker.

ps: where is gnabry?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Gnabry has an injury mate. Shouldn't be too far away from returning now

Agree0 Disagree0

Stupid of me to ask, cheers mate:)

I'm over the moon with that. I thought we would drop points tonight. Shout out to Cazorla, Rosicky and Arteta. Thought they played very well and worked hard. Two great finishes from the Pod, and a lovely first touch for Girouds goal.

May I take this opportunity to say I've always been an admirer of Tony Pulis, the way he wears his cap in such a casual way that make caps look cool. I'm sure it has nothing to do with him trying to hide the fact that he's bald. Wish him and his team all the best for the rest of the season. Starting tomorrow!

3-1 Good win and performance tonight and did not crumble when West Ham scored with a lucky scrappy goal.

2 good goals from Podolski showed that he a is good finisher and should play more centrally. Giroud decent with well taken goal. Kallstrom played well for first game start. Carzorla was dangerous in parts.

Mertasaker dominated a physical opponent in Carroll well he did not get a sniff. Whole defence did well, Scezz barley had to make a save.

At least puts some pressure on Everton for tomorrow night now

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Apr 2014 21:16:58
Kallstrom is awful

Red waiting to happen

Missed so many passes

Poldi and BFG screaming at him all game

Always out of position

So Arsene brings Rosicky off

Amazing

Believable0 Unbelievable0

For his first start and a full 90 mins after a injury played pretty well. I thing I liked is that he was always looking to play balls forward in behind the west Ham defence where we often play too much to feet sometimes, so for me that is much needed variation. Yes he tired towards the end of the game but that can be expected.

I think he will settle in well. Ok not a automatic starter when all are fit but a good squad player and gives us depth.

Agree0 Disagree0

Chill out, how many games has he played for us? Who cares right now if 1 player has a bit of a bad game. WE WON!

Agree0 Disagree0

Bit harsh on Kallstroem US. Thought he was very tidy for a first start- and whilst I am a big admirer of Rosicky I think his legs had gone, he was being outrun too often- couple of hard games and a knock or two- we'll need him fit over the next 4 games.

Agree0 Disagree0

He wasn't great but he won't play on Sunday against Hull FC. Rosicky was a doubt for today's game and needed subbing off which would give him more of a chance of being ok to play Sunday. Wenger played Kallstrom for the whole game, left the Ox on the bench.

Midfield for Hull: Arteta, Ramsey, Cazorla, Poldi and Oxlaide-Chamberlain

He's enabled the Ox to have a rest. Rosicky got 70mins game time and Ramsey got a 20min stretch after playing 110mins Saturday.

Personally, I think it was clever of Wenger. Just different outlooks I suppose.

Agree0 Disagree0

It thought KK played really well, passed well went forward well, didn't really get caught out, sensible football.
Rosicky was below par by his std

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed Greeny, thought Wenger got it spot on tonight.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kallstrom was directly to blame for Nocerino creating first goal

His passing was wayward

He allowed West Ham countless counters

I'm sorry, he laid the back four bare at times

Let it be his first 90

We cannot afford a match like that when it's essentially a cup final

Agree0 Disagree0

Kallstrom wasnt as fast as nocerino,

listen to the pundits if you want. but kallstrom was goalside of him before his run, and couldn't keep pace, but stayed goalside as much as he could.

the problem was kos and kallstrom, inexperiance with eachother, if kos had known he wouldn't keep up he could of come across to cover, which is what he should of done anyway as the man he was marking (carroll) had drifted off to mert and sagna.

Agree0 Disagree0

I didn't think he was to bad a little slow, but that's to be expected.

And greeny, hull fc? It could be that we have been playing rugby, with all our Injuries.
playing with speed will be key to beating hull city, they play 3 cb's with wing backs.

Agree0 Disagree0

What games are you watchin'? Your a Joker, He had nothin' even close to the shocker your makin' out he had. we don't need fans like you pal! stick to the colarado rapids.

1-1 Half Time:

I was worried at 1-0. Thought that's it, season over. West Ham going to park the bus, won't be able to break them down, subs won't come on until 70th minute and maybe if we were lucky a draw.

But the BANG! Podolski. Looked much more encouraging last 15 minutes. If we can keep it tight at the back it looks like we will get 1-2 more goals.

Predicting 3-1.

by the way what the hell was giroud doing on that one-on-one. Most pathetic chipped shot I've ever seen. Why doesn't Wenger bring Ox on and give Podolski a go up front?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Apr 2014 19:17:19
Just seen team for tonight. I really don't know where the goals are going to come from. I also think if carol fancies it we will struggle against him. Not confident, I hope our seaon is still alive after tonight.

2-1 Giroud, Ramsay. We will dominate, but just scrape home after a late 78th minute happy hammer goal!

Agree0 Disagree0

Akie, she wore a yellow ribbon mate.

1-1, not confident at all about tonight.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - oh ye of little faith.. :)

Ed, prepare for the worst than anything else is a bonus, lol

Agree0 Disagree0

The problem is ramsay and ox are not 100% available what ever that means, fit enough for the bench or not i'm confused (from wenger)

fingers crossed the back four hold strong we're going to be weak on the left with vermalen playing left back he won't be getting forward much

my hope is rosicky and santi are up for it

COYFG

Thank god for podolski and santi tonight others did well but they were my standouts

Alright you ugly lot! (Makes a change from DGs blatant sucking up of "beautiful people!")

It's getting to that time of day! The final hours leading up to a huge match!

Predictions and scorers please!

I will set the ball rolling and say 2-0 to THE ARSENAL with Giroud and Ramsey slotting home.

It will be nervous and scrappy. I just hope it doesn't go the way of the Swansea game. This is a MUST WIN!

Thoughts on a postcard! COYG!

Sagna to Man City for £110k a week on a 2 year deal with a one year extension available after the first season has apparently (illegally) been offered to BS.

Would fans be happy with Micah Richards coming in the other way?

Personally I was a huge fan about 4yrs ago and he's only 24/25 if I'm right but if he can get back to how he was I would snap him up.

Ideal scenario is: Sagna stays. We sign rb cover like Richards and loan Jenks to a prem league club in order for him to improve and gain much needed experience.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Micah Richards would be a good signing as he is still fairly young and English, which helps with the foreign quota. My main concern is that he is injury prone. I heard today, through a very reliable source that Sagna wants a 5 year deal, hence at 31 years of age, our reluctance to give it to him. I think he has had am excellent, consistent season.

Agree0 Disagree0

We should avoid Micah Richards at all costs. Don't need anymore injury prone players. I'd take Nathaniel Clyne from Southampton.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im with you G95, richards is a good player, but you have enough sick notes without adding to it..

15 Apr 2014 12:03:45
With wenger saying 4th is our priority this season I think it means he's leaving, getting champions league for the next guy to come into and attract the players he wants.

Obviously Wenger will want to go out with a trophy. But it wouldn't be the first time he put Arsenal before himself and this would make it seriously easier for the new manager to come into the job and not have to try and get back into the top 4.

But anyway, I think both the FA cup and top 4 will be ours.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree, I think Wenger is leaving, but wants to leave on a high, with an FA Cup & 4th place. I believe he will either end up at PSG or as the next French national manager.
I believe that part of the anti-Wenger sentiment has been as a result of his reluctance to sign a contract extension. Correct me if I am wrong, but I have never felt the same love for Wenger, that the fans had for George Graham, when he was winning things.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wenger will still be with us next season. And he's said 4th is our priority because the cup final is the week after the season finishes. So of course the league is priority.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not so sure- he spoke about planning for next season yesterday.

"We do spend time on next season, we are really focused and working every day on that.”

? So who knows.

I think he is going to wait to see how this season pans out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi gooners
For next season I want us to change to a 433(or 4321, which ever way we consider it). It wil make use of our strongest area of football. Put Ozil on th wing, let him play an advance playmakin role wit freedom to drift inwards. Walcott can b our wide target man or our secondary forward. Have 3 central midfielders, wil give us strength in tougher games. And if we need to b different we can switch to a 4231. Th 4321 must b our template.

This is what I wanna see us play next year.
_____________Mandzukic___________
Ozil_______________________Walcott
___Wilshere__Bender__Ramsey___
Gibbs_______________________Sagna
_____Koscielny___Mertesacker_____
______________Szczesny_____________

From tht I want us to by a gk with expirence to challenge Szczesny. Sell Fabianki, Arteta, Bendner and move on from thm. Giroud I think is good enough to b our backup forward. Anyways we need depth. Send Sanogo & Gnabry out on loan. Keep Flamini as back up to Bender. Keep Vermaelen as back up for one more season.

Any thoughts & opinions(same or devided). your welcome to share?
Thanxxx

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well Sagna will leave as will fabianski both on frees because we took too long to offer them suitable deals so no money acquired from them.
Also I think we need to replace mertesacker. Il get shouted at for suggesting this. But as much as we all like the fist pumping passion he shows he's too slow. We need a more mobile ball playing centre back. We have the direct and fight from koscielny but it's a lack of pace that will cost us with mertesacker.
Mandzukic I think would be similar to Giroud. Maybe a little more clinical but still no pace. I think the Morata deal will happen from Madrid.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Apr 2014 11:20:13
I agree Bender and Mandzuckic would be fantastic sigmings, but Bayern stated he is not for sale. I think go for Benzema if Real M get Cavani/Falcao/Suarez/Aguero. We also need a 4th CB. I think Wenger took a huge risk there and is lucky none got injured long term. Agree send Gnabry + Sanogo on loan. Maybe Jenkinson and Zelalem aswell. Bring in RB cover in Aurier and keep Sagna as he is a top player.

I think Ozil would not solve any problems in the wing. He lacks real pace and I feel we need a goalscoring winger who can beat a man and cross. Cuadrado (Fiorentina) Farfan (Schalke) Draxler or even Joel Campbell as back up.

So my team would be:

Szeszncy
Sagna - Mertesacker - Koscielny - Gibbs
Ramsey - Bender
Walcott - Ozil - Ox
Benzema

Back up XI: Fabianski, Aurier, Vermaelen, Ginter, Monreal, Wilshere, Flamini, Campbell, Cazorla, Podolski, Giroud.

So: Benzema (£25m) Bender (£22m) Aurier (£6m) Ginter (£8m).

But the thing is. This won't happen

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Apr 2014 11:41:13
I'm not sure if I miss heard it but I'm sure Arsene was saying on sly spurts yesterday that he will be happy with our current strike force going into next season, he spoke of Podolski and Walcott as strikers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Shezney

Aurier Hummels. Koscielny. Gibbs

Gustavo. Ramsey

Ozil

Walcott. Reus/griezman

Benzema/balotelli

Agree0 Disagree0

Jenny, Wenger said you can't say Poldoski is a striker. He said Walcott is a striker and that players like Rosicky Cazorla and Ozil are attackers. He never said he'd be happy with the current strike force (directly) but sly spurts implied that in their headline link to it.

He has to get at least one big striker in surely?!

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Apr 2014 14:10:55
Thank god for that Greeny, I don't see anyway he can't get a better striker, the bid for Saurez surely says he knows we need one.

Agree0 Disagree0

My team would be:
Begovic
Richards Mertesacker Koscielny Gibbs
Pogba M'Vila
Walcott Wilshere Reus
Falcao

2nd eleven
Szczesny
Jenkinson Stones Vermaelen Monreal
Abu Diaby Ramsey
Oxlade Ozil Cazorla
Giroud

Reality:
Szczesny
Jenkinson Merte Koscielny Gibbs
Arteta Flamini
Walcott Wilshere Ozil
Sanogo

It will just be my luck tomorrow. After everything I've been saying I go to the game and Sanogo plays a blinder and scores his first premiership goal . Absolute liberty that would be. LOL
WATCH THIS SPACE .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Stop worrying GOLDBOY I'm sure that won't happen, just try and relax and enjoy the game.
What's the worst that can happen?
Sanogo gets a hattrick that kick starts his career and goes on to score the goals that clinch 4th place and win the cup for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Enjoy Gold's,

Agree0 Disagree0

Giroud will start (and score) tonight. Sanago coming off the bench to head one home would be the cherry on top!
