So with Debuchy back, but with because out, if you were manager what would you do once Chambers is also back available? Maintain Debuchy as a CD with Chambers reverting as RB, swap, with Debuchy returning to RB with Chambers moving to CD, or even keeping Bellerin as RB, Debuchy as CD and Chambers as sub?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

That's quite difficult to be fair as Debuchy was very composed at CB but in fairness newcastle didn't offer much going forward

I think I would get debuchy back out at RB so he can settle back down to that position and chambers at CB as that's where I think he'll end up. With experience either side of him he should do better.

Alternatively if Wenger kept Debuchy at CB and played chambers at RB I' d understand as chambers offers slightly more going forward imo and Debuchy is just coming back from a lengthy lay off so may be too demanding up and down the pitch

Agree0 Disagree0

Calum and kos I think is fine as of course is Merts and Kos but Calum and Merts worry's me I'd go Calum sub and Merts Debuchy CBS

I would stick with Bellerin, Debs, mert and gibbo.

Chambers on the park bench.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm with dags. Chambers on the bench for me.

With Arteta, Flamini, coqulin and Diaby all out of contract in the summer would do you expect with the future of our midfield?

We all know we need a DM, but with our injury record I wouldn't mind us looking at an good experienced CM as well Like Cabaye with Arteta staying on but playing less games.

I'll be angry if Diaby stays on and coqulin has no future. Flamini i'd like to see go but can see Wenger keeping him.

Cazorla and Rosicky also go into there last years after the summer both the wrong side of 30 and no major demand if Ozil is fit

I'd like a DM, Cabaye and Areta staying on as well as the obvious existing midfielders and up and coming youth

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I have said before, as unlikely as it is, I would love us to sign Khedirha, as well as a DM. Great player, World Cup winner, mate of Ozil, and I think that he could, if needed from a wages perspective, replace Arteta, Rosicky and perhaps even Cazorla in the squad, for a couple of seasons at least. Plus wherever he plays he is a fairly decent size as well, who can handle himself.

Agree0 Disagree0

Arteta must stay and will stay. He is a player who keeps the squads heads high. I think ultimately any players who come in will depend on if Arsene decides to stay at the end of the season. I would love half of the Dortmund side for instance but wherever Klopp goes I think they'll go with him. Having said that we do need a few lads to freshen up our midfield and I fully expect us to do so with one in January and another in the summer.

I expected Porto but will gladly accept Monaco, I think all 3 English teams have a good chance of progressing but would happily take us being the only one of the 3 to make the QF and meet Porto in it :-)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Monoco or Porto was the best draw we could have hoped for and we got a bit luck for change in the draw. Not saying Monoco will be easy but we have good chance to progress now.

Chelsea have the best team that finished 2nd in PSG and will be very hard game and City getting Barca. aswell

Agree0 Disagree0

City will go out.
Chelsea and PSG is 50/50 for me and if Zlatan, Cavani, Silva and co are up for it I think Chelsea will go out.
The mighty Gunners will march on in style and I hope we give it a damn good go this year!

Anyone who thinks liverpool will be a walk over next week are in dream land remember they took the p1ss last year and could easy do it agian I think draw or Liverpool win

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ohh did they, and how many times have we done it to them, more than once right

Agree0 Disagree0

They also thrashed United last season then look what happened yesterday. I'm not going to write them off completely but we really should be able to win, even away from home.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Dec 2014 19:04:14
Weird,

Not sure anyone said they will be a walk over, just discussed how we should go about trying to beat them.

Thanks for your positivity though. :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Mmmmmm Jack's injured! What can I say today to get a bit of attention :-)
Whats next? let me guess sell Sanchez :-) :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Red dog think you should read my post properly mate I said think Not wrote, and gunner62 Ill always say get rid of a player who is injured more than he plays aren't you all saying get rid of diaby pot kettle springs to mind injury prone and not good enuf won't get in the Chelsea Side man city side Manchester United side (when players fit) or any other top top team I. The world, sorry for me it's sell sell sell and always will be i'd U don't like it tuff mate

What exactly has wrote got tf to do with think. Jeeeeesus.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Dec 2014 23:29:27
Last season they had nibbles and Sturridge.

Not so this season for obvious reason.

I feared them last season and, whilst I am not dismissing them, they are a shadow of last seasons team.

Agree0 Disagree0

I said think not wrote they are diffent things when I went to school

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - nobody said anything like that, what are you babbling on about??}

If Bournemouth beat them they could be managerless

Think Monaco is our Christmas
gift

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Dec 2014 14:57:55
Why is Rosicky not playing? Anyone know?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not been selected in the starting 11 and hasn't been used as a sub. :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Allegedly injured, but I have think he is being punished for speaking out about not being selected.
Our injury record is getting increasingly worrying, as now Ox has a groin problem, they are giving him an injection. This highlights the problem, that we play players into the ground, with little rotation. Then we bring them back and they get injured again. I can't imagine the state of the team, after the xmas & early new year matches.

Agree0 Disagree0

Because we don't have a game tonight?

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Dec 2014 12:37:51
I keep looking for ManU on the CL draw and looking and looking. seems delightfully odd ;-))

We should have a nice run this year - bet Barca is not too happy today.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I bet they are very happy, why wouldn't they be?

Agree0 Disagree0

City is just starting to get it going, might be a handful.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ask ChrisRedman where they are in the drawer? I've heard they will be playing in Europe this season, but only if they all go on holiday to Spain and play beach soccer!

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Dec 2014 19:16:28
I think with a squad with outstanding quality like Smalling, Young, Jones, Rafeal, Evans, Valencia, Carrick, Herrera, Fellaini, Nani, Cleverley, Rojo, McNair, Blind, Fletcher and Anderson there's every reason to fear them. :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

With Aguero out and Kompany seemingly struggling, I think the Spaniards will be safe

Agree0 Disagree0

Your looking at individuals RD, its how they get on as a team and at the moment their last 6 matches make them the PLs form team. . . . . .I'm afraid

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Dec 2014 22:23:58
Don't be afraid Banbury, maybe when they've spent another £300 million and replaced that bunch of dead wood you might have to be.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Dec 2014 22:26:11
Oh another thing, if that's form my Arsenal is a tulip, 18 points yes, form, nothing like it.

Red dog
Dont get your grudge against united. We are ahead of you in the league with as many injuries. Herrera is better than all of your cms bar Ramsey and he has been class this season. To be quite honest , we have a far better spine to our squad with rooney rvp falcao di maria mata ddg shaw and herrera.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - you are utd mate...of course everybody has a grudge against you, whats not to dislike?..

Never said that he had to like us, but its the fact that he continually says our squad is bad yet we are ahead of arsenal in the league. and touche 025 ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - years of success always comes with a price tag muire, you might call it jealousy..i call it rivalry mate...tomato tomato.. :)

16 Dec 2014 06:03:58
That is Herrera who can't get in the Spain squad ahead of even a 30yr old Cazorla.

Do me a favour.

Agree0 Disagree0

Herrera match fixing lol. if true he's finished.

poor mans koke anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

Have you seen Herrera play this season? Been great forbus when he's played and everyone has been crying out for him to start every game. i'd have him over flaminI arteta wilshere etc every day of the week

Agree0 Disagree0

Better than koke? Answer is no.

Absolutely fantastic draw for us, tough draws for Chelsea and many city, bring on Monaco.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Dec 2014 11:38:59
Couldn't agree more! It's a really good opportunity for us to get further this year. Also, so glad we don't have to deal with the boys from munchen. yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Omg best draw ever buzzing. city will go out I think but chelsea will probably scrape through

Real Madrid,
Bayern Munich
Arsenal
FC Porto
CHELSEA
Barcelona
Atletico Madrid
Juventus

these are the teams I think will progress

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldn't have had an easier draw, must be pleased with that

Agree0 Disagree0

Perfect draw for us, hope we don't lose it now!
I reckon Chelsea will deal with PSG relatively comfortably, but City to go out.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - you deffo got the plum draw LT..

15 Dec 2014 15:17:55
Don't underestimate them boys.

They topped their group and only conceded 1 goal, albeit they only scored 4 goals in 6 games.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Dec 2014 15:44:49
Assuming your correct and we get through Derby who would you fancy then? I reckon Porto or Juve

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely we would all agree that our attack is more potent than Benfica, Zenit or Leverkusen though Dags? Won't be easy but I'd put us as favourites, especially if we have a fit defense by then.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did u see monaco group dags lol. I think put them in any other group they don't even get out of it

Agree0 Disagree0

Sheeny i'd take porto for sure. juve after that I agree with you. tbh though i'd like to get the chance to see tevez again at the emirates. top top players

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Dec 2014 18:12:56
Agree Derby and Lemon,

But any team in last 16 are there on merit.

Its now a cup match so anything can happen on the day.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Dec 2014 10:32:27
Michael Carrick what an underated player he's been over the years, like Makalele little fuss just fights fire's before they get going.
Great example of a DM hardly noticed until their not there

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Dec 2014 15:46:50
Underrated maybe, but the only comparison between them is that they'd both make the celta vigo team tomorrow

Agree0 Disagree0

Always like him and the whole West Ham mid field, would like to have seen them stay together - still if he was with Arsenal you better believe everyone would still be howling for a proper DM.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Dec 2014 09:02:02
Ramsey and Kos both out for a few weeks according to Wenger. what the hell is going on

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - its called injuries..

It's called poor management.

Agree0 Disagree0

Id never have guessed

Its the frequency and the length that I am talking about

It is the worst in Europe

Agree0 Disagree0

I said ramsey shuould not of played in turkey and got slated no point in him playing at all

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree Derby.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Dec 2014 08:15:35
Who'd be a goalkeeper, they always seem to to take the rap and Mignolet the latest victim.
When the invincibles came to a dodgy end at old traffotd it was poor old Lens that got dropped I not get quite understood why and Bartez at utd although always erratic seemed to disappear from view after one had team display.
Easy targets?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Dec 2014 08:55:15
De Gea has certainly become an easy target, everyone is shooting straight at him.

In fairness it's not just keepers that get this kind of grief but in the words of ed07, Mignolet is in the barrel and getting it from all angles.

Simple truth is he isn't a top keeper.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he hadn't have got his angles right the ball would have hit the net instead of him

Agree0 Disagree0

They should of signed begavic or krul both miles better than him

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Liverpool tried to sign Begovic, he turned down the move, Mignolet was a last resort signing. And it shows as he is not very good.}

Eds Seems he has a brain then begavic lol :) good call from him

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Dec 2014 13:53:19
It was tongue in cheek re De Gea Banbury, it grips CTR and he can't reply. Bless

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Dec 2014 16:27:33
I can't understand why they sold Reina he's still a top lad imo. Pity we never get to see him any more at Munich. Greedy move that I think.

As for Mignolet he deserves it. Not been doing well.

Jens had a lot of gaffes at the time and needed a cooling of for a few games.

Bartez was pretty bad. Good shot stopper but calamitous with everything else. United went through a lot of keepers in a short time to replace Schmeichel and they were mostly poor until Van der Sar. Except Howard he's one I'd wonder about.

Ed do you know why Begovic turned them down? Was a personal thing with Liverpool or his he just stoke set? Would love him at the Emirates

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Dec 2014 01:56:51
Ed02 is there any chance Wenger may leave at the end of the season? Thanx

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - "Any chance" is very broad. It is unlikely regardless of how hard the fans try.}

15 Dec 2014 00:12:52
Careful Dags

That little Heskey joke might come back and haunt you next Sunday

You should know better

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Dec 2014 08:10:36
I know Bambam lol.

G62 told me off as well.

In my defence, it was purely a reference to his shocker against Utd :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Your entitled to have a laugh Dags, but the week before we play them? Knowing what Stirling can do?
All I'm saying is I and everyone on this page DO HOLD YOU TOTALLY RESPONSIBLE should he hurt us next Sunday in any way shape or form, no pressure :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Hence why I kept my mouth shut about Man U 62

Many on here were saying how poor they were, poorest defence in the league . and guess what happened

Agree0 Disagree0

Me too Banbury I was amazed by the total over excitement of the mk Dons result, they were happy to go out as its all about the CL place for them this season and next season?
There back whether people want to admit it or not and they'll challenge big time next season imo

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on mate

Of course they are back, they weren't going to stay away for too long were they

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Dec 2014 16:24:32
I have made my bed G62, so I will lay in it.

2-0 Arsenal and Sterling to have a shocker lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wrong score dags but you'll have to wait for my prediction!
