My twopenneth worth.
Bielik: only seen YouTube clips of polish league and youth games, but the thing that really stood out for me were the passes he was picking out, and the way they were executed. bit like seeing fabregas and Ramsey at that age. 2 years in arsenal youth teams/capital cup games and the right attitude, and this one could be immense! Worth the gamble at 2m
Centre back: out of those mentioned regularly, I don't really mind who comes in in January, as long as someone does. I do however think it's imperative either now or summer that a monster of a cb is needed, and big mert needs to accept his ass on the bench, or try his luck in a slower paced country like Italy. I've said before and will continue to say, he is an accident waiting to happen and has had kos covering for him for too long. As for those who said why sell vernaelen without a replacement last year. how many minutes has he played for barca this year? £15m for a guy he knew was all but finished is a minor stroke of genius from wenger!
Def mid: we all know that a specialised beast of a dm is needed, but look for a big departure in the near future. new dm, Ozil Ramsey jack arteta coq santi rosicky flamini lesser spotted diaby. Even with rotation that's too many!
Summer clear out: in my opinion, this summer needs to be thanks but no thanks to mert, monreal,arteta rosicky flamini diaby poldi(unfortunately) sanigi unless he hits 15 for palace!

Beilik is a player who will need a lot of working with, he won't have anywhere near as much time on the ball even in arsenal's u18s. He has qualities but this is a player who is very much a 'sanogo' style player. He has natural ability and qualities but he will need to strengthen greatly physically and sharpen mentally if he is to make it at arsenal. If the guy has the right attitude then he could be great. With wenger probably leaving in 2 years I would consider 4mil on him a huge gamble. He has confidence on the ball which could become a great asset if he sharpens up but if he doesn't he could be an incredibly avarege player. Just personal opinion

Sorry saint I disagree, firstly I think it's nearer £2 mil, which s rumoured to be what we got for afobe.

This kid is already at 17 physically huge, he is a tough tackling DM but has outrageous skills as well as vision way past his years. I'm not for one minute saying he is ready but he is probably to be compared to someone 5 years older, a bit of a freak of nature really.

We will of course see what happens but I've never seen someone of his age with so much potential.

Sonogo has no ability at all. He's just always been big

At 6'2" and nearly 13st aged 17 the physical side won't be of any concern.

No idea what brought you to a comparison to Sanogo or really what makes you think that.

Of course he will learn, any and all footballers do. I don't think u'18 or u'21 games will faze him at all.

Have you seen the massive Dan Crowley doing his stuff in the youth teams?

His skill and his vision are undoubtedly amplified due to the time he has on the ball, he won't have such luxuries in england, I'm not saying he won't make it just saying it's going to be a long tough battle for him to make it and we shouldn't heap any pressure on him

Look forward to seeing him develop and we might get a glimpse next year in the carling mug. let's hope the lad fulfills his potential with spades.

My point is I can pick out a forty yard pass when I have time and space, I can drop my shoulder and feint the other way past defenders, I have a sharp turn of pace and I can stick a decent tackle in, I'm 6"3. If I played in the polish youth leagues I'd look absolutely sh*te because I can't do any of that with such little time on the ball just like he might not be able to do what he's doing now in the U18s just seams like a phenomenal gamble at even 2mil, are we forgetting just how much money that is in the real world?

For me 2mill is not a gamble. We paid 1mill for Campbell he will sell for more. Vela also did.
I do think the next generation of polish players could be a force

Appreciate what you're saying but credit has to be given that the scouts have a good idea of his true worth.

Arsenal have been making a big push at, restocking, for want of a better word, our youth teams.

Pretty much every signing of a youth player is a gamble as the mental side is probably the biggest hurdle for any young player.

I would be amazed, despite how good he looks, if Arsene had him pencilled in for 1st team action in the League right now.

So, looks like Krystian Bielik is definitely coming, I know he's only a kid but anyone who hasn't already, have a look at his vids - amazing talent, already better than most we have in that position.

Don't for one minute think we have signed a player from his YouTube clips, he has been followed for a long time and where he has been playing is tough football trust me.

Such a shame that Debuchy has been ruled out for 3 months. I still cannot understand why Arnautovic was not sent off for the shove that led to the injury.
Arteta has also been ruled out for 3 months following surgery and if we have not extended his contract, I would allow him, as well as Flamini to leave at the end of the season.
We desperately need to sign two proper defensive midfield players. I would love to see us break the bank for Pogba & Schneiderlin.
It is time to replace Szczesny, who is an imature keeper and simply not good enough at the top level.
A centre back would complete the squad.

Flamini has another year I believe. arteta is no loss we will hopefully move forward without him

Hi Derbygooner, I am 99% certain that Flamini's deal expires this summer. I know there were discussions in respect of Arteta extending beyond the summer, but I am not aware whether the extension was confirmed. In any event, neither player are good enough, if we intend challenging Chelsea & Man City.

Transfermarkt shows that both have contracts ending June 2015.

If these gundogan rumours are true, however unlikelythey might be, I will be extremely happy to have him. Swear he was one of the worlds best midfielders like last year. Just lacking some fitness after most recent injuries (typical wenger signing in the injury department)

But not sure he's the defensive player we need. Swear he's a similar type mould to Ramsey, so more of a box to box player, and we really need just an absolute beast to break up play and lay the ball off. Although He's probably more defensive than ramsey, and if he's got enough pace and can break up play better than Arteta then I don't care.

Either way I highly rate him and he's definitely better than nothing so I cannot complain.

Also this could be a pointless post because rumours are there for one reason and one reason only. To get Arsenal fans hopes up every window and then to destroy them come the end.

Rumours circulating regarding a £63m bid for Gundongan & Hummels from Borussia Dortmund, personally I hope it's true (well at least Mats Hummels) as that would be finally addressing 2 key areas. Also why aren't we moving for Lacazette as he'd be perfect for us especially being available for the Champions League?

Hummel's will be difficulth as utd will offer him several trillion a week for the humiliation of playing for them

Agree lacazette would be a great signing plus the dortmund boys of course. There right back always impresses me too. Polish one

£63 million seems steep considering £16m is the asking price for Gundongan. £47 million on a CB is barking mad, unless that CB is the mighty David Luiz :)

Agreed Ozil (please change your name for a bit) I think gundugan would be worth a risk at £10m but he will need a good few months to get fit, I would be happier with Reid or van dyke at CB and save the money for schneiderlin in the summer.
