Use our rumours form to send us arsenal transfer rumours.

Various media outlets reporting that sven mislintat is leaving arsenal following disagreements with the other power brokers.

I have no reason to doubt the veracity of this rumors. Sven doesn't strike me as someone who would go after targets like dennis suarez and carrasco.

There is no doubt sven is the best scout in europe. This is a guy who has contacts everwhere. He is no ordinary scout. Would be stupid losing him in a time when we want to stick with our self sustaining model.

Truly a dark chapter in Arsenal if this turns out to be true which i am afraid could be.

P G the site that reported it first, in the summer, stated first allegri was arsenals new coach, then arteta. It may or mey not be true but the site that started the rumour is as reliable as our defence.

Cheers Steve mate, I've never used it so I've no idea either way on its reliability but in my experience the list of reliable information providers is extremely small.
The Eds on this site and Ormstiern are the only 2 I've found where delibetate misinformation isn't an every day event.

Welsh did you answer the question from the other day. Why did you think when he was appointed he wasnt good enough for arsenal?
I do try and back my opinion up, wether you agree or not. Not just throw flippant remarks out. And you aren't annoying me at all, don't flatter yourself.

Gunner, i don't use it either, it is more wrong than right and very speculative.

Steve we all know the Headline
" Pea and Torreira both want to leave Arsenal next summer after becoming disillusioned by the clubs lack of progress "
Gets many many more hits than
" Pea and Torreira both interested in talks on extending their Arsenal contracts "
The media want our attention and aren't bothered in the slightest what it takes to get it, truth or spoof it's all the same to them and an attention grabbing spoof = lots of £s while the boring truth = pence if they are lucky more often than not.

Emery's comment that we cannot purchase during the current window is becoming clearer as there appears to be a problem with Mislintat. He may be a top scout, but it appears that he wants to influence much more than simply identifying talent for the manager and the board to consider signing. I belive we will see Mislintat move on before the summer window, when replacements have to brought in for Cech, Ramsey and Welbeck. In addition I can see Jenkinson, Elneny, Ozil, Lichtsteiner, Chambers (why did we extend his deal and then send him out on loan - he simply isn't good enough) , and one or two others.
It looks like we may bring in Denis Suarez and possibly another player on loan.
With most of the injured players back fit, bar the two players out for the season and Mkhitaryan who should be back next month, then the squad is pretty full, even though it lacks quality. I can see another 5 signings this summer.

Isnt Mislintat the guy who fell out with Klopp/ Dortmund supposedly over his smoking at the training ground?

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2019 12:52:49
Epping gooner he fell out with tuchel not klopp. He is the best scout in the world, why lose him when you can't spend money like a real madrid or barcelona?

Edu is suppossed to replace him so Edu better find us the next ronaldinho or am going to be pissed off.

Has he gone? Has it been confirmed he is definitely going?
If so, oh well it's a shame but onwards and upwards and if it's still just rumours why not just wait and see what happens I'm sure something will be confirmed one way or the other soon.

Thats right, thanks for correcting me PG. Like others i hope this news item is not true, as we seem to have some decent people in high places at the club at the moment (owner excluded of course! ) and a spell of consistency at the board level would be good, but if it does turn out to be true, I guess when you take someone on who left a previous employer under a massive cloud, you shouldn't be too shocked when they start acting up at the new employer. Sadly, as they say, a leopard doesn't change its spots.

Ive read countless reasons why he may or may not want to go to Bayern. He wants to go back to Germany, Bayern he sees as a bigger job, he and Sanlheri have different ideas on scouting, he wants a promotion, he is unsettled in London, he is very private and insular and like to work alone. All sorts of rumours, take your pick and add some more. He might even not want to go, who really knows?

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2019 20:28:27
That's the thing Steve no one knows anything either way so basically this is a non story just a lot of possibilities much like is Jurgen Klopp really considering the German national Job? Who knows not me and I'm the one who started the story he might be, it's ever so easy to start a story and watch others build of for you and should it come off the bloke who starts it is seen as a reliable source and if it doesn't come off no one remembers who stated it because everyone else has chipped in so much.

Hi all,
this is my first blog and have enjoyed reading all the posts whether its good or bad.

I would like to throw in my two pence worth and say that since rob holding has been injured and mezut ozil not "playing" arsenal have capitulated.
With ozil we have an avenue where we can create chances. Auba and laca are being wasted with no playmaker in the team. We need to get 3 torreira like players to do the donkey work for ozil. Let him do what he does best.create chances for two of the best finishers in the premiership. At the moment they are living off scraps. Guendozi is not the finished article and Ramsey is on his way out.

It's amazing to see the difference in the team spirit since we lost our unbeaten run. The confidence, tenacity and fighting spirit has left the team they are a shadow of the earlier season team. On Saturday against West ham it was like watching a Wenger team in his last season, there was no passion.

I think Emery has hit a brick wall and got the most out of mediocre inconsistent players. The only problem we have now is Stan Kroenke has hidden his wallet..you couldn't make it up.We were on a crest of a wave with new found optimism a manager with new ideas and it seems its all gone to pot.

Welcome G73 (Great decade! ) and good first post. I was absolutely gutted when Holding got injured, as although not yet the finished article by any means, he was definitely heading rapidly in the right direction. Also agree 100% with Ozil. Having players with the vision to create chances at the highest level is a rare thing, and we have one in ozil, and yet we seem to want him to be a midfielder who tracks back and tackles, rather than just signing proper midfielders to do the job. Never see many slag off Berkamp for his lack of defensive nouse, yet Ozil seems to have to do everything. For me, as long as he creates a couple of golden opportunities per game for the forward boys, that's already a level above the rest.

I agree at his best ozil was the king of creators. There must have been a reason why madrid got rid at the height of his career. I think football at the highest level demands more from players than just that. Ozil as a footballer has massive chinks in his armour. The reason we got beat on sat was because auba and lacca had a bad day (unusually) at least one should have scored with their chances. We let a goal in because of a rediculous error, i will say no more on that one. We were away, i believe we had more possession, more efforts on goal and apart from the goal, defended all right. For me i think we miss myki, he isn't given the respect he deserves for his contribution to the team, i agree holding was looking good and we had a plethora of injuries in defence all at once but on that respect with the exception of holding all coming back slowly. If we lost every game away from home from now to the end of the season we would be equalling last years feat, so that shows there is an inherent problem somewhere. I think we will do better than that though from now to the end of the season, i don't see us equalling it.

The team I would pick to get the best out of ozil at the moment would be as follows.

Leno in goal.

A back four of bellerin, sokratis, mavopranos and kolasniac.

A midfield three of Maitland niles, torreira and iwobi. They are full of energy and track back and protect the defence to allow the full backs to attack down the flanks.

I would give ozil a free role to roam around the pitch dictating our play and opening up defences and spaces for teammates to run into.

Upfront I would have auba and Lacazette. With the right service goals are guaranteed.

15 Jan 2019 22:32:17
Leno or Cech I personally don't think there is much to choose between them, both decent but neither really special ( obviously Cech was once very special but not now)
Mavop I'd try him as nothing to lose but very untried to any real extent
Ìd definitely play Guendouzi ahead of both Iwobi and Maitland Miles.
But apart from that I'm with you 100% with you 73 mate.

I remember a couple of years back when we played Maitland-niles and Rene-Adelaide in central midfield for one game. Yes it was only the Carling Cup (or whatever it was called back then) , and it was only against a Championship team (Poss Reading or QPR? ) , but they were fantastic, with the high energy we so lack in that part of the field, so why not, Torriera, MN and Guendouzi. Might lack a bit of skill, and may have to forgive the occasional naive pass when the ball should have been cleared of danger (no worse than Xhaka though) but would certainly up the tempo. For me Iwobi should be left on the coach, don't let him anywhere near the pitch. I have seen pigeons land on the emirates turf and contribute more to the game than him.

Are those jammies he's wearing?

Nice writeup Ed001. I'm sure stoner, like me, will appreciate it.

If you're taking requests, can we have something indept about Arsene Wenger? Something that let's us get to know the man a bit more - the good, the bad and the ugly of him.

{Ed001's Note - I thought the same thing when I saw the picture of him at the London Fashion Week. He certainly has an odd sense of 'style'!

I have added that to the to do list. Could take a while to get to it though!}

Unfortunately Ozil is a luxury we cannot afford. Should have never been given the wages and contract he is on. When he was at Madrid if he didn't perform their were other class players to make up the difference same as the German national team. But when he had a off day with us boy did it show no one to take up the slack. The quicker we offload him and invest the wages into a couple of solid defenders the better. Once we get the defence solid we have the foundation to go from there.

Given your Madrid/ Germany comparison, it might be better to buy more, not less, creative players.

I see that emery is offering ozil to inter or juv if he goes hope he has a creative player in mind as don't think we have any in the squad that creates apart from ozil and Ramsey.

Mesut is no good to us as things stand, he's rarely available no matter how creative he can be at times and now he is being frozen out for whatever reason (lack of commitment looks likely ) .
I'm a huge Mesut fan but Mesut and Arsenal has never really worked out properly.
