Use our rumours form to send us arsenal transfer rumours.

15 Jul 2015 22:44:42
Joke for you Ed.

Just found out Mrs Dags has been learning sign language behind my back.

She kept that quiet.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - sigh..

15 Jul 2015 23:06:04
That actually made me laugh mate. 👍

I must be ill.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 23:42:46
Ive been told my wife does sign language behind my back also. Using only one hand tho.

16 Jul 2015 00:17:55
Chris, they are all beauties mate :-)

Nice one Steve.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 22:30:47
Benzema would be a brilliant signing for so many reasons none less than it would stop the never ending rumours about us signing him window after window and in between.
I know the rumours would start immediately that he was unhappy and wanted to leave us but at least they would make a change.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

15 Jul 2015 23:16:06
Linked with Benzema in past 4 windows.

Would be quality at Arsenal.

His link up play is terrific and he's a very good finisher.

Sign him up AW.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 23:16:06
Haha, he definitely taken the award from Solaman Kalou for the player we get linked with every transfer window but never sign.

He would be the perfect signing with for us. Giroud build up play with Augero finishing. Sadly just don't see it happening...

Agree0 Disagree1

16 Jul 2015 07:47:19
Noodles,

Don't ever mention that name again :-)

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 07:58:56
Benzema has become our new groundhog day and for this reason above all others we should sign him what ever it takes :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 11:05:13
If you look at the way Karim plays for Real, he's almost a support striker to Ronaldo.
Yet still manages 15 or so goals a season.

Now imagine he becomes the main forward for the club, he'll bag 20+ a season, after he settles.

The though of him, Alexis and Ozil, forming the majority of our attack is dreamy.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 22:20:05
Hi CTR me old chuckle buddy, that's excellent advice you offer when you say don't look at utd :-) especially for those of a nervless disposition :-)
Are the touts at old Trafford going to be selling the connect 4 sets again to keep the fans entertained during the interval between warm up and warm downs again this season?
It does seem with LGVs recent transfer activities utd may be a, little less flamboyant this season going for a less attractive more considered approach :-)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Jul 2015 23:01:00
I would imagine connect four is too noisey for the Emirates?

Keep those hands over your eyes mate. It's makes the inevitable easy to take.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 23:32:52
Now now G62,

Stop having a pop at the prawn sandwich brigade.

They have just lost Robin Van tosspot and Radamel nogoals.

Go easy on them.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 07:55:01
Dont listen to what you've been told by LVG Chris mate its only the back pass that's been banned all other forms of passing are still perfectly acceptable and are being freely exercised by all other teams.
Kick and standstill football isn't inevitable mate doing be fooled by a man who extends Phil Jones contract but gives up on Di maria àfter one season and is quite happy to see 40 million your club doesn't have go down the drain after his 1 year Falco Di maria filtration.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 22:12:06
Lewandowski is available.

Would you?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Jul 2015 23:03:56
I'd have to be really really drunk and he'd need to be very heavily made up with good perfume and great heels, but yeah probably

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 23:48:10
No, I don't think he's what we need, very good player but, not mobile enough for me, for arsenal. Benzema, lackasette, benteke or harry kane for me. Obviously ronaldo and messi would do also, in dreamland.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 23:52:54
Not my type dags

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 00:19:40
You always have to lower the tone of the post G62 :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 07:33:57
Ha ha G62 love it

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - don't believe him, we all know G62 would not need to be drunk.}

16 Jul 2015 08:02:55
Strangely Dags that's not the first time that's been said about me :-(
We all have different attributes, apparently

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 09:52:46
Lewandowski isn't mobile? But Benzema and Benteke are?! That's a super weird analysis.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 11:08:17
He's a good striker, £35m certainly isn't a bad price either (as that's what his agent believes Bayern would listen to)

But if bayern want shot of him after one season, where he did quite well, either he's fallen out with Pep (not difficult by all accounts) or he's got a few issues they aren't happy with.
Because other than him, they have Muller who CAN play up top, but have no other out and out first team strikers.
Unless we're going to see a Goetze false nine!

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 13:52:50
Muller is an incredible player especially up top. One of the smartest players in the game. Lewandowski is unfortunate that he has to compete with him for game time. Lewandowski would easily start up top for most Champions League teams which I would imagine is why he is interested in a move and why Bayern are looking at selling him.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 22:07:20
So,

Imagine, we go into the new season as it stands, no other signings for us and Chelsea, City, Liverpool, Utd etc.

Where do we finish end of season?

Speak from heart and not head.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - 1st..

15 Jul 2015 23:12:13
1st in both premier league and champions league plus securing a hatrick of FA cups wins and a disappointing league cup exit in the quarter finals at home to Doncaster losing on penalties 11/10.

15 Jul 2015 23:17:04
You are officially my fav Ed Ed :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - An astute ed. He saves money from having thick ginger hair on the soles of his feet so doesn't need to by slippers.}

15 Jul 2015 23:34:58
No other signings 3rd at best probably 4th tho. A cb dm and striker, 2nd. Moureen sacked or wenger gone 1st. Simples. Sorry don't see it any other way.

Funny enough, I came downstairs this morning and saw Mrs Dags making breakfast in her slippers.

I really should buy her a frying pan.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2015 00:54:00
A close 2nd. I think we need a better striker to finish 1st. Would also like another CB and a DM to cover for le coq though, would make me very confident.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 21:43:54
I'm going to throw it out there...

Lewandoski to Real
Benzema to Arsenal/Man U

Believable1 Unbelievable1

15 Jul 2015 22:36:16
I would bite your arm off to the armpits for Benzema.

If he comes on the market and Utd sign him, I would be unhappy Dags.

Lacazette would soften the blow though.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 23:56:37
Lewandowski available now lacazette softening blows Benzema as the number 1 fluffer model and higuain been the crusty sock under the bed

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 19:06:25
We should see some signing soon based on Us clearing space, competitors signing plus AW stating :

"We feel that we moved forward last season but it's not enough to think that's okay, we have to move forward again."

Let bring in a few strong signings to improve the first team not just the squad....

To challenge we need the first team strengthening through better run in injuries plus signings

Believable0 Unbelievable1

15 Jul 2015 21:57:53
Charlie Austin?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - have you got your tissues handy dags?}

15 Jul 2015 22:26:41
I'd laugh if we signed Austin , eh Dags?

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 22:38:12
Ed,

Are you trying to say I'm a w**ker, lol.

Ps, you would love Charlie at Anfield mate, admit it.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 23:20:12
Bambam,

He would be quality at Arsenal.

He's not got an ego. Would be happy to bide his time and come off the bench, in place of Giroud or alongside.

Would love Lacazette, Benzema or Higuain, but would still regard Austin as a quality signing.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 23:49:42
Banbury you wouldn't laugh, you'd cry like me.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 18:35:19
Browngun / Red Dog

Im not saying I agree with our squad I'm saying what I think AW will do.

Brownie boy where did I say we will win the league , I personally think it is AW's POV

Red Dog why is that negative........
You say you think there are more signings ....where?? certainly not upfront if so who goes?

Midfield .....before AW signs someone, surely he needs to off load

Brownie boy, where did I say we have enough, please read the messages before you reply.

Very much appreciated

AGAIN to those hard of understanding, I hope we sign more but this summer AW isn't under as much pressure as previous summers.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Jul 2015 19:12:24
There is nothing difficult to understand about your posts, trust me.

We have a great squad with quality all over it, so it makes sense that any players coming in will be better quality.

Who needs to go up front, Sanogo likely loaned, Campbell likely sold and Walcott yet to sign a new contract and haven't we be crying out for an alternate to Giroud.

Better quality equates to bigger money. We have bigger money so if that quality becomes available then Wenger will spend it.

For me rather than look at things negatively as you regularly do I'm for believing that we will buy better.

Lewandowski, Benzema, Lacazette, Vidal, Martinez, Higuain, Reus and plenty of others are likely to get on the transfer merry go round and ed02 has indicated we have interest in some of those.

So cheer up soft lad. :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 20:09:46
I can't be bothered to get lap top out to copy and paste the post from a few days ago. But you were most certainly wording it with a suggestive support of not spending using words like enough cover and making out that we had meaty players for all possition and a bench full of superheros.

Nice to see you have had a good while to think up a responce after initially feeling a little daft.

COYG

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 21:10:27
Response ..............just to clear the spelling issue up lol

As much as I would love to sit and wait on my laptop all day, sadly I cant, I reply when it suits me :)

Read into it what you will but I was suggesting that they are the thoughts of AW ................ in my opinion we need two players ......a CB and a CF BUT ..............this is the bit that you will struggle to grasp......you ready.

Do not be surprised if AW doesn't spend big again. I'm not saying he won't but I'm saying don't be surprised.

That is also to you Doggy boy , I guess that makes you a purse then does it xx

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 21:32:28
Banbury call things as he see's them actually being not necessarily as he wants them to be, where most of us mix expectation with hope Banbury is 99% Vulcan and very rarely let's emotion get in the way of his very well though out considered opinion although he did once order a Kebab without giving enough thought as to the takeaway most likely to give the best mix of value for money with excellent hygiene standards and fantastic taste, although his kebab was perfectly healthy and tasty he did later realise had he taken his time a little more he could have saved 50p on a healthier more nutritious and slightly larger one from a shop that delivered in 27.5 seconds faster thus making his kebab even more pleasant that the one he rushed into in haste.
Since that day he's promised himself never to let his heart belly or any other part of his person rule his head ;-)
By the way Banbury you up for this drink at the utd game mate? Seriously it would brilliant to meet up and share a beer mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 21:45:29
C'mon Banbury grow a set... I will own this, with good health the Arsenal are good enough as we are today to win the EPL, a double and a deep run in the CL.

Solid in defense, world class keeper, creative midfield, enough scoring and the X-factor in Sanchez. I would prefer we sign no one, just so we can with with these lads. (ok twist my arm and force me and I will take Lewandowski, but we should have had him already ;-))

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 22:13:48
Ok Banbury ok a multi paragraph back track . That's fine I'm sure that's what you were saying

15 Jul 2015 22:23:25
Ok sweet cheeks I promise I won't be surprised if in your opinion Wenger doesn't buy anyone and considers the team is complete and doesn't feel the desperation of the last two seasons.

Thanks for clearing that up I was proper struggling there for a minute, I know your posts normally have 2 or 3 hidden meanings but I've got it. ;-) phew.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 22:30:59
I like him a lot Sussex, you can tell he's been constantly watching Thierry clips.....there's something about him that reminds me of the king himself, don't know if it's movement, swagger or what.....but there is a similarity there for me.

Like the lads have said get him out on loan this season to a team with abit of ambition n he could quite easily flurrish.
He can obviously finish as we saw today,he has strength, movement and by what I've seen a good footballing brain.

Could be a great little player given the opportunities

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - give him to everton.. :)

16 Jul 2015 00:37:49
Wenger might see him as a sub and no need to buy a striker

It's the new away kit Brow, it's gold, I actually like it. :-)

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 16:25:29
It's based on the old 2001-02 away kit that we had. I like it, probably more for the memories than the aesthetics.

I don't think Naxto will leave.
He's too valuable.

He's not the best LB in the world, but he's reliable attacking and defending, plus he can cover the CB role, plus he's become a real fan fave!

He's not going to get a ton of money either, so if it was a case of contract issues, we may as well keep him and let him gin for free in the summer.

However, I think IF Naxto himself said he wanted to go, then the club would grant him that.

Agree2 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 10:32:01
Ed02 you said in a post below that arsenal want a striker! Are the strikers arsene wants in the ilk of benzema, lacazette and higuain or is he wanting someone off the radar.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Of that ilk.}

All those getting a bit twitchy about utd signings might find some comfort inn the fact their trying to offload Di Maria as they did Falco after one poor season with them.
If last years super signings are anything to go by spurs might actually get to sign Spyder after all just a season later than they had unrealistically dreamed of.
Sorry Honey CTR and AJH not having a go but LVGs spending on fee's and wages to date isn't looking that impressive.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Jul 2015 12:49:31
I can understand them letting these guys go though . Falcao had big wages and had nothing to show for it plus it was a loan and you could tell Di Maria really didn't want to be there .I think di maria didn't do too bad last season and this season would of been a whole lot better as he is still a quality player .

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 13:24:18
I've no real idea why people get twitchy about United, there are two other teams far better equipped to win the league in City and Chelsea.

Is it the fact that young kid comes over and tries to tell us how bad we are and how great United are going to be.

For me two years in with zero trophies makes them the ones with the twitching going on. Big big season for them or 2 stretches into 3. :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 14:36:33
United would have been the team they would be next summer if it wasn't for LVG Concentrating on World Cup with Holland . They will buy and finish 4th next year and then will be a force the season after

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 16:18:24
Falcao was crap after his injury, a risk that did not pay off. Di Maria seemed more of a statement signing, maybe not even an Lvg type player.

The players we have got this season seem far more solid and more Lvg esque.

But we will see!

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 20:03:04
And those of u not feeling twitchy just read g62 worried post.

That's squeaky bum time if I've ever read it lol.

U keep your eyes closed matey and pretend u can't see it coming again.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 21:20:25
Mate United won't be away for long that's an inevitability. Just hope we can steal a March on you next season

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 09:37:19
Ed02 do you think arsenal will sign a striker and a midfielder? Because I feel if arsenal will strengthen these two positions there is a good chance of arsenal winning premier league this season? Thanx

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I cannot say what will actually happen but Arsenal want a striker but they need to decide whether they wait on a defensive midfield player and use the resources they have or not.}

15 Jul 2015 06:32:23
Rosicky is injured and out for 5 weeks. One has to question the sense behind extending his contract, Arteta's contract and keeping Flamini. These three players clearly needed to be replaced this summer. Hopefully Flamini, who was poor last season, will leave.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

15 Jul 2015 09:49:35
Whether we agree with it or not the reason these players are still with us is to give emergency cover but not in any way shape or form get in the way of Le Coq Jack Ox etc progression, right or wrong that's the reality.
Personally I'd like to see younger players promoted or bought in as back up rather than having ageing players whose best days are behind them.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 12:08:56
Sorry i have to disagree with you a little. If we brought in new players and got rid of them and or promoted players to fast then we would surely then have hardly any experience in the team at all.

I agree lose Flamini, but Arteta is good back up for as stated by g62 ox etc. I feel Arsene keeps Rosicky for his dressing room Morale or something i've heard stated somewhere before in the past and he usually comes in the team somewhere in the season and puts a good shift in.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2015 12:38:20
Would definitely keep Rosicky one more season.

He gives us options coming off the bench and is still probably (Ok, possibly) our most attack minded midfielder.

He's a keeper, well a midfielder actually, but you get my gist.

15 Jul 2015 16:28:25

What is a big club? What is the defining factor?

A. Size of fanbase
B. Number of trophies won
C. How much cash they can throw around

With the above 3 factors, which are the 3 biggest clubs in England

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Jul 2015 11:20:45
Arsenal, Man Utd,

Liverpool or Chelsea factoring overseas fans and trophies, probably still Liverpool for me

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The recent survey using a measure based on world-wide social media ranks the English sides (world wide) 3. MU, 4. Chelsea, 5. Arsenal, 7. Liverpool and 9. Manchester City.

There is no known measure of "bigness".}

15 Jul 2015 12:45:59

Its difficult to see where the blokes going with his buys, coupled with his tactics and TV interviews you have to ask the question is he an experiment by Channel 4 to see what happens if you put a real Alan Partridge type character in charge of a football club.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - bloody hell, I think you might be on to something G62! That Being Liverpool programme is obviously still being filmed, that explains how he kept his job in the summer. Just wondering what the script will be for this season? Maybe a fight against relegation where he can bring out quotes from 300 to entertain future TV viewers before finally getting the sack so they can air the show?}

15 Jul 2015 09:17:06
I think the evidence has been there from day one Ed when Liverpool were well beaten by WBA and Rogers straight faced as they come told the players they were the best team on the day and unlucky to lose in the dressing room after the game, It was obvious no one agreed with him.
I think the program makers will up the anti this season when Brendan actually picks himself in 14 straight games and week by week sub's every player at some stage but himself and then announces that although he has every intention of being the manager of Liverpool for the next 30 years he would be open to selling himself as a player to Real Madrid in January if they meet his £150 million buyout clause and he would be open to being reunited with himself at some stage in the future once he's capitalised on the fantastic foundations he's been laying these past 3 seasons at Liverpool.

15 Jul 2015 09:57:44
Not sure Dags but she was totally convinced last summer we would sign a few top players like Reus and when all were panicking stood firm that we'd do what was needed by the time the window closed, so maybe she felt let down and exasperated by going into last season so short and simply couldn't take any more.
Either that or she ran off with Doc Green and they are busy raising Joey's in the northern territory together :-)
