Too young to be a manager Dags and still has some time still to play. Te he.

Seen what happened when he joined spurs he's not good enough.

Well that's a relief - I thought finishing outside the top 4 would seriously impact our spending and type of players.
Feel a lot better:

"I believe finishing outside the top four will not have any influence on how the club will be led and how we will behave on the transfer market. "

Phew.

That's all nice and dandy by Wenger, but the problem is how potential players see Arsenal, due to the fact we won't be in CL.

It's this season that's done it Dags mate, I mean top players were queuing up to come when we had a last 16 champions league medal and top 4 trophy to offer :-)
Nothing had changed only that Arsene has a ready made new excuse for not signing players this summer, not that he needed it I'm sure he would have been quite happy to recycle the old ones endlessly.
The good news is we've been crying out for change and now we've got it, Europa league football :-)

Man Utd weren't in the cl and they spent a few quid and didn't have a problem, it's not about cl it's the right amount of wages thrown at them.

I've been reading on Twitter (I know) that Dortmund might be getting a new manager. There is no chance that this could change things for Arsenal now? I think I read somewhere on here that Tuchel had spoken to the club. Is he actually a possibility or is he one of the two managers who turned Arsenal down?

Just curious, I know no-one knows what Wenger is doing yet.

Thanks guys.

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with Arsenal.}

Thanks for the reply. Didn't realise I'd posted it on the wrong site :/.

15 May 2017 20:14:44
Ed002 your reply got me thinking. I assume you mean he's not leaving Dortmund for Arsenal, or maybe that we have no interest in him after talks etc. Is he headed somewhere else or just taking a break again?

Thanks. And sorry for all the questions.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - What I mean is that it is nothing whatsoever to do with Arsenal.}

15 May 2017 20:30:09
Right. So I shouldn't be asking about this on the Arsenal page. Sorry didn't think to post about it on the European pages.

Apologies.

Have to say gents I think your abit to worried about not playing champions league football! We are a million miles from winning that trophy and every round of 16 defeat seems to really hurt team moral that time of year i think i'd rather compete in something realistically we can win I mean look at united they've been shocking but cruised to a final. With regards to ozil and Sanchez top 4 won't make a difference, they were gone anyway and if they did want to stay they would. We need to rebuild and bringing in a few new players and blooding the youngsters in wuropa could help, you've got to stay positive and it's not like we rely on the money from the champions league to stay a float.

15 May 2017 15:30:00
Total spin coming out of the club and wengers mouth. Regardless of how we have done in the champs league, 30 to 80 mil is not something this club can miss and replacibg sanchez and ozil not in the champs league means shopping in the corner shop.

15 May 2017 15:44:55
Plus losing our best two players because of says it all and shows what is expected.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 May 2017 16:38:51
We might not lose them both Steve. Who knows. Hopefully there's enough in reserve to at least keep one for another year until their contract is up. Doubtful but a possibility.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 May 2017 18:01:44
No way do you want a player to run his contract down. Absolutely pointless. Take the cash and move on.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 May 2017 18:08:54
Well it's not pointless I'm sure a season with Alexis will be a lot better than one without. But I'm more thinking will the club actually invest that money from him. Again how much will we get for him with a year on his contract. Too many ifs and maybes.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 May 2017 18:15:30
Europa league potentiallyโ€‹ possible contenders or champions league last 16 whipping boys? Not a great choice which ever one you chose is it.
If we want things to improve dramatically then we need to change what we do dramatically and Arsene won't have that so it's game over for next season even before this one is finished.
What can we do but laugh at the whole crazy situation that is Arsenal football club right now, a manager who has not been able to produce one single title challenge for over a decade keeps the the club and fans waiting while he decides what he will do? Only at Arsenal could this happen or more importantly be allowed to happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 May 2017 23:28:03
D16 dortmund did the same with lewandowski. Lost out on the cash and he went to a rival for free. Pointless imo. Sell them and move on like we did with nasri etc.

16 May 2017 00:53:06
I see what your saying derby but it works both ways. What if we kept RVP for a season extra. As I said all ifs and Buts.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 May 2017 01:25:49
D if a player wants to stop he will, if he doesn't he wont. Its not up to the club, well not to arsenal anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 May 2017 10:40:25
If we kept rvp we would not have won the league imo. Never ever keep a player if there running contract down. Sanchez will fetch around ยฃ50mill imo.

i hope missing out on the champions league will be a wake up call for us. It seems inevitable after liverpool smashed westham yesterday. Now that wenger has failed to deliver his favorite trophy will he decide to walk way? Irrespective of the result against chelsea, i think this season has being a massive failure. since a host of quality coaches in allegri, tuchel, jardim etc may become available, i think we need to dispose of wenger and go for any of this good coaches.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 May 2017 14:11:20
I doubt very much that missing the Champions League places will be any kind of wake up call for our club, it amazes me that people think it will.

They factor this sort of thing into the running of the club, Kroenke as much as he might not be liked is a billionaire, he didn't manage that by being a dope.

We know he has faith in Wenger so why would he not give him what he would consider his continued faith after what is one blip in 20yrs.

He likes how the club is run, the money it makes and what it achieves financially. He is more likely to look at Gazidis and what money he is bringing into the club, we have 9 partners/ sponsors, Man United have 25. So who in essence is failing him for what he wants?

We support Arsenal, whether we like Wenger or not, so right now that's all I'm doing aside from whether I want him to leave or not. That decision is out of my hands so I'm really not going to let it bother me. I'll go to games when I can and watch every game I can. That's why we're fans.

I would also never hope we fail at anything nor ever lose a single game.

15 May 2017 14:55:31
Exactly stoner but the money is about to decrease profits will be hit it will be a wake up call without a doubt.
wenger is now saying finishes 1 point behind champions league places wouldn't be a bad achievement dear me.

allegri leaves with champions league trophy we will move for him i think. could we be with a year out of the game u don't know. i just see him here.

Too true guys and glossing over it and saying it won't affect us is totally wrong. Losing sanchez because of is just the start of our problems.

I'd love Allegri here Derby but they just seem so entrenched in under achieving that I'm not holding my breath.

Who here whether it's an ed or reader know much about our youth players?

Was wondering if anyone knows much about Reiss Nelson. Know it sounds crazy but keep seeing how good he is on football manager ๐Ÿ˜‚, I know that's not a good basis to say he's amazing in real life but considering the players potential in that for most teams certainly arsenal is done by people who have to watch the club and research the players. So made me wonder do we have a gem at our club?

West Ham United v Liverpool - A Liverpool Perspective

I know there are some think I speak with fork tongue but check the search engine. I said at the beginning of the season in july when chelski signed kante, they would win the league and no one else. I also said we wouldn't get top four because the managers in the prem ( top six ) had just improved to a level above us. I said we never addressed our weaknesses even though we spent fortunes last summer. I haven't enjoyed being right but to me it was all so obvious and I do know there were a few others that shared the same view but we don't take any pleasure out of it what so ever. Just please now wake up and smell the coffee and stop accepting papering over the cracks. Wenger is not up to the job any more.

This page isn't about being right or wrong ( which is handy because I've been predicting Utd would pip Liverpool to the 4th place trophy fur months ) this page is surely all about sharing and swapping opinions and of course sharing our frustrations when Arsene and Arsenal get it badly wrong and of course sharing the elation of when things go extremely well, obviously the younger readers won't have experienced this yet so they will just have to accept the over 30s telling them about how we used to be a real force once upon a time :-) .
Yes I thought Chelsea would win the league before a ball was kicked but I also thought Spurs would finish 5th one place below us or possibly Everton if I rememberโ€‹ right :-)

Wes we want a manager in his 40 s who has already won top leagues and trophies and built teams. I fear a young futuristic manager wouldn't get the support and guidance from our board. Experience beating the top teams in top games is vital. We pay top dollar for our manager so attracting that type of manager would not be a problem. i'm not against a young poch type manager but I prefer a proven recent track record.

I predicted
Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool, Manchester City top 4 and Arsenal and Man Utd 5th and 6th.

Also, Sunderland, Boro and Hull to get relegated.

I also predicted Ed025 will crack a funny joke. So got that bit wrong ๐Ÿ˜‚.
