Just wondering what everyone thinks the attendance will be like when we play athletico Madrid. Really hope it's a full house and we get behind the team but will others still stay away to get their views across. Will be interesting to see.

I'm pretty sure the stay way fans will put their personal feelings to one side for the night 16 mate and I'm equally sure they will get 100% behind the team and then it will up to the players to keep them their.

Yep, we only get a measly 59,950 in the PL 😂.

The club has already given the official attendance for match and it's also hoped that this time those without special Arsenal glasses will also be able to see everyone in attendance.

Don't listen to old fools like me 16 mate, of course the stadium has really been full this last month or so and there really really is a 4th place trophy and we really really realky are making progress year in year out, any fool can see all that, well most fools can apart from the really old ones of course :-)
There's no fool like an old fool :-)

Well at least we will find out if the fans are staying away out of protest at the decline of the club under Wenger or just just plain old apathy.
I'm not sure which would be the scariest to the board, but i'm hoping if it has been a protest to make the board wake up the fans don't back out now.

Both the official attendance of tickets sold and the actual attendance will be virtually a sell out, as it should be.

Thank for clearing that up for us RG :-)

RG61 I guess you are overreacting mate. In the league there is not much left to play for and it will be extremely hard for Wenger to motivate the players. Against Atletico it will be a different ball game altogether. Not many gave us a chance against Milan but look where we are now. I believe with our current squad and coach both as poor as they are Atletico is very beatable. I am putting my cash on us going through to the final. I agree it's time for Wenger to step. He did his best and I am forever grateful for what he did. Time for a change is now. Hope Arsene sees the way.

Just wondering why it was so difficult for Arsene to motivate the players last August too ;-)
We conceded 3 times to Leicester on opening night was it 4 or 5 against Liverpool and of course our customary defeat at Stoke with an impressive only 1 goal conceded.
August or April spot the difference with our defence and the man responsible for recruiting training organising and motivating them, there isn't any and neither will there be next season if Arsene is allowed to continue.

For me the whole arsene debate is done and dusted out of every arsenal fan I know there’s only one of my group of friends who still can’t get over it. I agre leics there’s not much to play for in the league and yesterday we had inexperience and a lack of quality in midfield and defence. Can you imagine the uproar if ozil played and got injured. May as well use the league to have a look at the squad we are three games away from a remarkable salvage and all efforts should be going towards that! I really wouldn’t be getting too concerned about the league.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Apr 2018 13:03:49
The league isn't important but the lack of defence and defensive midfield is important if we are to achieve what we have left that is worth playing for.
Will the defence suddenly become all right on the night against Athletico? They might not be the most free scoring team in Europe or even Spain but they aren't second in their league by drawing each game 0 0 either.
It would be silly to rely on Athletico's lack of a goal scoring excess else where as a safety net to pin all our hopes on, personally I'd be doing all I could to help ourselfs before relying Cavani type generosity to save us again, our defence is rubbish but that doesn't mean we can't somehow making 1% less rubbish between now and the two semi final games.

Yesterday wasn't a shock. Even this season we can see that we have a good enough team to beat most premiership teams at home, even if playing the likes of Elneny and Chambers in the starting XI. However, against either the best, home and away, or away to any team, anywhere in the league, but showing a bit of recent form, we get done. We have absolutely no backbone, or change of style to get the job done. Same reason we do no better when we play against 10 men, we stay exactly the same, play slowly across the pitch, giving the other team plenty of time to drift defend, subsequently over commit, and get hit on the break. If this was a record, it wouldn't have been changed a long time ago, it would have been smashed to absolute pieces.

Gunner I’m afraid our friend Mr Wenger will change nothing in relation to us defensively.

It will simply be a case of us being inspired as we were against Chelsea in the final.

It will be nothing short of miraculous if we win but let’s just sit back chill and see how it goes. 😁.

That’s it stoner it’s all a little hysterical. We battered the best team in England last year in the fa cup final. Our defence held up then and it has done on numerous occasions throughout the year . Who knows which arsenal will turn up against atleti. One thing is for sure is we can’t sign anyone else and Wenger will be in charge for those games. There’s really no point in whining about the same things week in week out. We have two potentially 3 games where arsenal need to turn up.

No top 6 sano as far as i understand. May be wrong.

It's 7th if a club that already qualifies for Europe wins the fa Cup, so if Southampton win, they get a spot and it's top 6 I think.

I'm sure your right Stoner mate, I don't expect anything new or positive from Arsene but still can't quite get the hang of accepting the madness and total bewilderment that is Arsenal football club without having an opinion on it.
But I have a cunning plan to resolve that problem for myself once all hope of Arsene going this summer is gone :-)

Frightening to think that we were beaten by a team that don't possess a single player that I would want in Arsenal's forst eleven, whilst not a single Arsenal player could get into Champons Man City's first eleven. I cannot see a win over two legs against Atletico and hence time must surely be up for Wenger, with no FA Cup to save him.

Chin up lad, your team is not that bad, I would take Bellerin, Ramsey, Ozil, Aubameyang and Monreal in a second to Liverpool.

Struggle to see where they would get a game 2.0 mate, Belerin yes but the rest would struggle to make your current starting 11 ahead of what you already have, I'm sure Pea and Mesut under Klopp would force there way in somewhere after a while though.

The trouble with Arsene and his excuses is he has a very poor memory, if VAR had been used this season we would now have even less points and Burnley would be above us already.
We got some very very favourable refereeing decisions early in the season and none more so than at Burnley.
VAR will come to the premier league and when it does it will be exactly the same as the referee in the respect that sometimes it will go for you and other times against you and even when it's 100% spot accurate managers and fans won't like it when it goes against their team but will love it when it goes for them.
I'd have thought Arsene had enough on his plate with his own job rather than worry about doing the premier league rule makers jobs for them.
