As for the draw, I say bring it on. Let's no mess about. Bayern are brilliant but they are also beatable. If we play well and win at the Emirates in the first leg then the Allianz Arena should hold no fear. Saw a great stat today. English clubs have played German clubs in Germany in 2013. The English clubs have won EVERY game. Arsenal have beaten both Bayern and Dortmund without conceding.

The only problem is when we next play a German side it'll be 2014!

People giving Giroud a hard time just look at the stats 15 prem games this season 7 goals and 4 assists compared to 34 games 11 goals and 7 assists last season! He has barely missed a game and looks shattered he just needs a rest hopefully Pod can link up nicely with Ozil and start giving Giroud some competition!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Giroud is a very decent sticker, nowhere near worldclass but decent!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he is very underated and in time that may come to show if we sign a striker in January, hope not but think it might

Agree0 Disagree0

You can see that Olly is feeling the effects of playing every league and champions league game in a tough intense league.

We need Podolski back, Walcott banging them in like he did on Saturday and also a striker in January.

Still, Giroud has done pretty well and is trying to lead the line as best he can. It's not HIS fault were threadbare upfront.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey CTR - love the term 'sticker' presumably as in 'one who sticks the ball away'?

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry if he can't play most of the games I'm right ain't I? look at Suarez, Ageuro and Rooney as examples, they play most games for their team yet still seem to be able to stay sharp and score

Agree0 Disagree0

This si true redman but they are a very different type of player to Giroud he is a target man.

Agree0 Disagree0

And no he is not world class right now but he has gotten progressively better just like Drogba did at a similar age and with a similar scoring record from Ligue 1 so hopefully he will get there Drogba was far from world class his first two seasons.

Best draw we could have got :-) if we're going to win it we have to beat the best and if we do beat Bayern over 2 legs why not?
But if were going to get knocked out it might as well be against them in last 16 and leave us free to concentrate on finishing as high as possible in the league.
Its a win win in lots of ways :-) simples

Believable0 Unbelievable0

True. Bring on Bayern

I love it!

I haven't forgotten the cheating, the horrible refs, Neuer grabbing the ball after Kos's goal like a petulant child so we couldn't get the game restarted quickly

Im glad we drew Bayern

Payback time

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sorry mate u can dress it up as much as u want, your going out.

Agree0 Disagree0

And what is it that suggests you not? Must be your season so far that make's you so confident about your chances

Agree0 Disagree0

And you are 8th in the premier league at christmas stranger things have happened!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ctr, I'm confused

Are we a worse team than we were last year? Because we beat them last year

Shut them out at home.

No Wilshere or Cazorla, didn't matter

Maybe we were watching different matches

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats not nice CTR,
Yes, we know Bayern are an awesome team but we are capable of beating them mate.

CTR from what I've read is a pathetic little poster who likes to come on here when he has something to grasp at because his beloved Manchester United are a shadow of there former selves.

Not a very likeable person at all.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not being nasty just honest guys!
All the smoke blowing about time wasting and dodgy decisions is all exactly that! U were beaten by the best team in Europe and u will be again!
U getting drawn against bayern has nothing to do with us, u finished 2nd albeit in a very tough group.

But on the brightside at least u cam solely focus on the league.

Agree0 Disagree0

Had to turn my telly off last night as CTR was on every channel, INTERFERENCE

Agree0 Disagree0

And what I see jenny is a very rude little girl who talks before she thinks!

Have I offended any1? Have I been rude? I was meerly pointing out that yes u should look forward to the game but imo u will go out!

A team who comfortably beat city THIS season away, the same city who put 6 past u are the favourites, just because I disagree with u makes me a person?, its an opinion!

Its has nothing to do with united, as a football fan I make bayern clear favourites, but I always want the english clubs to do well and wish u a win, just can't see it.

Why on earth would I talk before I think, your first post a dismissive jibe as much as your 2nd post.

Your third a direct reply to me, you actually thought about what you said and then posted with some thought.

Because you have what you believe is an easy tie is the simple reason you post on here. You are, on form against a team of similar standing with no gaurantee of progression.

And we know exactly how good Giroud is we don't have a need to label players as world class when they are not.

You should note, I used the word person, it was not edited.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jenny, you know that person who calls the police at 8.05pm to complain about the noise of the street party every one else in the street has been invited to?

Yes G62 I think you're right.

Agree0 Disagree0

CTR, you know I have nothing against you, far from it.
But, its what you said in your first post that has seemed to annoy people.
You said "You are going out", eg that's a statement. Now, if you had said something like "In my opinion you are going out", that's entirely different, you are expressing an opinion, an opinion you are more than entitled to make.
Play nicely mate and stop being a playground bully (smiles)

Agree0 Disagree0

City is a phenomenally good team right now, they just beat Bayern. Means nothing

In both matches we had chances we could have converted and would have moved on last year

For all their so called superiority, they beat us because of the dumbest rule in sports, the away goal rule

We will strengthen in January. And when we face them, we will be ready

Maybe they move on, but it's not a foregone conclusion. Not even close

I rate if we buy the following players in Jan we can push for the title and more this season.

CB: Ginter ( watching him play reminds me a lot of Kompany)
CDM: Lars Bender
RW: Pedro
ST : Lewandowski

Not impossible but highly unlikely

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lars bender or Gundagon for me. Pedro or El Shawaary out wide and Lewandowski would be a dream! Ginter is not someone I am that familiar with.

A man is sitting in a pub with his jack russell dog one Sunday afternoon. The football results are coming up on the television in the corner: "Stoke City 2, Tottenham Hotspur 1, " reads the announcer. Suddenly the jack russell jumps up and shouts out, "Oh, no, not again." The shocked landlord says, "That's amazing. Why did he say that when it was announced that Tottenham lost?" "Because he's a Spurs supporter, " the dog's owner replies. The landlord then asks what the dog says when Tottenham win a match, to which the man replies, "I don't know. I've only had him six months."

Is it just me or are Spurs the team to beat this season? Everyone's at it.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yep, have heard they are going to copy Hull and try to change their name.
Apparently they are going to be called Tottenham DVLA because they are always handing out 3 points to everybody.

So this morning a meeting took place between Daniel levy and AVB, many things were said but the final outcome was that it was best for both parties that he left, reports suggest it was sealed with a high 5-0 lol sorry I couldn't resist :) can't wait to face Bayern Munich, this year they will underestimate us ;) Remember as well that pep has never won at the emirates.

Been a while since I posted on here, a few observations about the weekend etc.

6-3 Loss against City was harsh, could easily have been 6-6. What I saw though was our midfield being found out, especially Flamini. He's brought us some much needed bite in that position but, just like he's no where near the French national team, there are plenty of other players better in that position around the world. Matuidi would be great, Khadera another. Its been often said but I`d even give Vermaelen a run out there (providing we have fit defenders elsewhere ofc), Flamini and Wilshere just couldn't compete physically with Toure and Fernandinho.

AVB has gone, they're problems were balance of the team imo, the link up between midfield and attack was poor and they had too many defensive minded players. I'd love to nick Paulinho tho, quality player. How much did they spend on Lemala, don't understand that if he's not going to play.

Saw Osasuna/Real Madrid last night and Benzama played awful. Terrible first touch, body language was negative, looked really out of sorts. He scores more goals than Giroud but his support play isn't as good. I'd take him at AFC but there's plenty other strikers who would be preferable.

We must get points out of Chelsea or yet again, everyone will be saying we can't beat the 'big clubs'.

Haringey council has blocked Tottenham's plans to build a new ground on Northumberland Park. A town hall source said: "We don't mind having a funfair there once a year, but a circus every fortnight is a bit much."

Tesco are releasing new Oxo cubes in Spurs colours. Customers are told to look out for laughing stocks.

A young boy goes to social services and tells them he has nowhere to live. "What about your parents?" asks the social worker. "No, they beat me, " says the boy. "What about your grandparents?" says the social worker. "No, they beat me even harder!" says the boy. "Well . where do you want to stay then?" replies the social worker. "Tottenham, " says the boy. "They don't beat anyone.

Daniel Levy, shortly after watching another training session, comments to the head groundsman at White Hart Lane how impressive the pitch is looking. "It ought to, " replies the groundsman. "We put 100 million quid's worth of sh!t on it every week."

I just went down to the newsagents and bought Tottenham Hotspur magazine. Thank goodness they had porn mags to hide it in.

A man was found dead floating in the Thames, wearing a blond wig, full make-up, bra, knickers, suspenders and a Spurs shirt. Before informing the next of kin the police removed the Spurs shirt to save the family embarrassment.

Regarding the draw: look at it this way. Neither bayern nor barca wanted to draw arsenal and city, while city and arsenal knew a tough draw was coming. These games are going to be awesome, best of England vs best of Europe. Excitement to be plenty.
Come on ARSENAL!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Very good point Waq. I'm well up for it. If it was next week I would be worried, but we have time to prepare and I think we can win the tie. Hopefully another top CF in January to boost those chances!

Of all the teams we could have drawn! Damn! Oh well, I guess this will be a good test for us. The ball is in our court, up to us to prove ourselves. Go gunners!

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, we just need to make sure we win at home this time.
Hopefully this gives wenger further incentive to try and buy some players in Januar. But I really think we will beat them this time, just have that guy feeling we will go far in the CL this year

AVB has just been sacked by Spurs.
Although I don't like them, it is a shame and a bit of a knee-jerk reaction IMO

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Your right there DG. I would like to have seen him in charge till the end of the season and take them down lol

Let's be honest about Saturday, we got beaten by a very good team. We weren't getting carried away before last week, let's not get downbeat after it. It takes 38 games to make a season and only spurs fans think you win anything in November / December!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The Chelsea game is very important for us. A win would be beautiful, as it will show to the pundits that we can beat the so-called "big dogs" and bounce back from two defeats. It'll boost our confidence even more for the games against West Ham and Newcastle away, too. If we win all three, which is certainly possible for us, we'll be in prime position for the next half of the season. In my opinion, it starts with a good result against Chelsea.

Walcott needs to start against Chelsea and abuse Azpilicueta, who's playing at left-back.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree that Walcott has to start and he looked pretty sharp. Great finish for his second goal on Sat.

Will Mourinho go for Ashley Cole at left back on Monday?

SPURS.A bit of light hearted banter. I think Spurs were a bit unlucky yesterday. I think they should try playing with their first team instead of the Under 15s.
I don't think it's a good time to be getting rid if AVB as any decent manager wants to go to a successful team and well! what can I say? It's either him or err well its him I'm afraid. Shame really. Never mind at least the Spurs fans have got the new stadium to look forward to, if that's still going ahead. Should be a bit like First Class on a plane when it's built all those extra seats nice and empty will give the Spurs fans plenty of leg room and even space to stretch out across the seats if they fancy a lie down. I would appreciate it if when we play them in the FA Cup that they turn up with a strong squad as our Under 16s need a bit of a workout. LOL

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Goldboy, wheres your xmas spirit mate?
Actually, forget that and keep on having a pop at the Spuds, its much more fun lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Dag. The Christmas spirit is in the cupboard mate with the beers and the wine. Just heard AVB is not on Spurs Christmas list from an hour ago! Wonder why? Shame. Not.
