Red dog,

Just to comment on your previous post.

I hear where you are coming from, but I don't think Banbury and G62 are "fawning" over Man Utd.

You say we should be aiming for Chelsea and City, and you are totally correct.

But, taking off your Arsenal hat, whilst I agree, we should be aiming for them, they are too good, and as a Gooner for over 40 years, it hurts me to say that.

So, rather defeatist, we are looking to finish top 4.
That, in itself, is a sad predicament of where we stand at the moment.

As ardent football supporters, we look at the teams around us.
Basically, they are our enemy and we are in a battle against them.

The first rule of battle?
Know your enemy.

The second?
Never underestimate your enemy.

For me, Chelsea/City 1st/2nd.

Arsenal and Utd 3rd and 4th, so I'm looking at Utd as our main challengers.

Defensively poor, midfield poor(ish), terrific upfront.
But, they will be there at the end of the season, with us.

Like I said, I agree with your post but, until we improve defensively and DM, we will not be serious title contenders.

Just my humble opinion mate.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

For me Dags its a case of either accept reality or live in blissful pretence that is isn't happening
They have sadly got their noses in front of us again, just.
If we chose the former we can react change that reality if we live in the latter what's to change?
Our battle is for 3rd or 4th, I much prefer 3rd ahead of utd rather than behind in may

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Dec 2014 21:39:12
Dags,

Guessing fawning was the wrong choice of word but they do seem to excessively worry about them.

As for City and Chelsea we gave them both a good game and could and should have beaten City so I dont, with the much discussed, right additions believe we are anywhere near as far behind them as United.

Yes we lost to United but that again seems to be mind over matter, much like Stoke. We psych ourselves out of it.

Having faith in Wenger and my team doesn't make me deluded because I see what's wrong but at the same time see so much more that is right.

I predicted 2nd for us at seasons start but it's not been a great one so I'm now thinking 3rd.

Almost every team in this league has to be taken seriously mate and that obviously includes United but they to me are a long long way from being a United under Ferguson and Van Gaal has yet to get them remotely playing like a team and half the time doesn't seem to know what he wants to do.

I have been baiting the master for a few weeks now though and he finally took it. It was only a matter of time. Lol.

Banbury and g62 no offence intended gentlemen. :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Dec 2014 22:47:16
Lol Red,

To be fair, 'fawning' was the right choice of word, it was, after all, lighthearted banter.

Again, I agree with you.
City and Chavs are in front of us but, with the addition of 2 good players, in the correct position, we can go 'toe to toe' with the aforementioned teams.

Likewise, whilst you slightly and lightly dismiss Utd (but I love the baiting of Chris), they too, are only 2 players short of being a top force again.

Its all good banter mate, and you are very good at it, and I know Bambam and G62 won't be offended by it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Red you thought 2nd but now think 3rd, I thought 3 but now think 4th, let's hope something happens in January that make's us both think 1st next season is a very real possibility and maybe even a champions league final this time round.
I think there's lots of little things we could do that would make a big difference, add to those changes a DM and a CB and who knows what's possible?

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Dec 2014 22:51:28
G62,

Whilst I admit, we had a very decent Summer Window, certainly compared to previous season's, we made 2 signings too little.

With that in mind, I would happily, albeit reluctantly, accept 3rd, as being an improvement on last season mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

How funny, you lot crack me up.

Dags, rules of battle? You've been watching films again haven't you?

I like the rules of "fight club" best

Rule 1: never talk about fight club

Rule 2: there are no rules

Agree0 Disagree0

We are not catching utd I don't think our champs league run will give them the edge

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Dec 2014 23:58:24
Speaking of films 337.

There's a new film out about a tractor.
I have just seen the trailer.

Also,
Premature ejaculation: The movie.
Coming soon.

Agree0 Disagree0

If healthy we are closer to 2nd than 4th and much better than ManU.

Look at our squad - forwards with healthy theo 8.5/10 - attacking mids with Rambo and Ozil firing 8.0/10 - defense if healthy (Gibbs/Kos/Merts/Debuchy) is 8.0/10 and GK 7.5/10.

One well diagnosed problem is a healthy Arteta is still only 7.0/10 even with the intangibles.

Question is would it be worth it to get a modest or risky upgrade (Tiote type?) for this season just to secure 3rd or do we wait until the summer to get the perfect upgrade - which is Schneiderlein (way less risky than Carvahlo)? Knowing Wenger if he gets a modest upgrade then he will not be in the market for another in the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

We only finished 7 points off the champions last season, so I agree that we are not that far off at all, yes we have not had the best start to the season, but we have won 5 of our last 6.
And also can I just say that in no way do I settle for 4th and every season go in with the optimism that we can win and mount a serious challenge for the league, but let's not forget the quality of this league and that finishing 4th (while not a reason to celebrate) is still not a bad position.
Man utd have one off season and finish 7th, Liverpool have not finished there is a long time and look at them now after 1 season back in top 4 and in champ league.
Leeds, Newcastle, Blackburn, Bolton all tried to compete at in top 4 and look where they are now
Tottenham, Everton would love to finish there even for one season.
so yes let's dream of more and support and will the team but also let's not underestimate the great consistency this team and manager has shown where so many other teams have failed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - good post that GB..

Last season was last season. this season inst the same. we will be further away from the champions than 7 points. this season. double that or more I think

Too early for me too.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Dec 2014 21:40:52
No way am I predicting a 5-1 reversal of last season, that would just be deluded. :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

4-1 to the arsenal and complete a hatrick of this score
Giroud 2, Sanchez and Walcott to score

Agree0 Disagree0

4-2 to the arsenal, sterling to score theirs goals after dags comment ;)

Henry legend, nothing else to say today.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - best player to ever play in the prem for me sussex, closely followed by bergkamp..and im an evertonian..

Cheers Ed, agreed, just to say I would have Zola third

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - shearer No3 for me sussex..

16 Dec 2014 20:10:57
No Aiden McGeady Ed? Lol

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - if it went down to 10,000,000 he would still not be on the radar dags..

I had him Number 4, Cantona at 5

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - cantona is a great shout mate..

16 Dec 2014 20:28:21
Bias aside, Thierry and Shearer neck and neck.

Closely followed by Bergkamp and Cantona.

Even closely followed by John Terry and Lampard.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Dec 2014 20:29:32
Ed,

I thought you and Swan were big McGeady fans lol?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - he could become the next TH dags.. :)

I am all for Henry #1 followed by Bergkamp #2 and Viera #3 - still no mention around here of MU's national sweethearts giggs and scholes - love it!

Agree0 Disagree0

Duncan ferguson for me, imagine if he had played for arsenal!

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Dec 2014 20:57:55
Ed,
Totally agree he could be the next TH.

But, I'm thinking Tom Hanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - hes not worth a tom hank dags..

No bias intended but Ronaldo? Ballon d'or winner, record breaker best player in the world atm (imo)

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Dec 2014 23:55:39
And Stevie G

F'allon D'floor winner 2014.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Dec 2014 23:48:26
Ed is thought franny jeffers, would of been top of yours and dags list:)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - franny is back at everton now MGM in a coaching capacity, which is like having eddie the eagle as a skiing coach..

17 Dec 2014 09:16:13
F*nny Jeffers more like.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Dec 2014 19:30:55
If you had a table of the club with most injuries over the past 5 seasons I guess were top.

What were the last 10 PL matches in which a team were 3 more goals behind at half time, I guess in 5 of 10 we are on the receiving end.
Finding why these two things happen to us so much more than any other team and fixing the reasons would go a long long way to making us serious contenders again.
No need for blame or recriminations just solutions

Believable0 Unbelievable0

16 Dec 2014 22:58:13
I think squad rotation is key mate.

That's why teams like Man City, and Chelsea in the past, have an advantage.

They have about 20 'first team' players, whilst we have about 16/17.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Dec 2014 15:49:13
Banbury,

Just an answer for your post further down the page, firstly
I'm not certain why you and g62 seem to fawn over Man Utd, which I seriously don't get.

Yep they beat us, yep they sit ahead of us and no quite clearly they do not have better players than us, would I as a whole swap squads, not a chance, would I take De Gea and the Cutch Dunt, yep I sure would.

Outside of those two that is it, they are a long way from being a City or Chelsea and I will be amazed if they finish above us.

The thing I don't get is whilst they're down why you have this reluctance to give them a good shoeing, it's banter, they've done it for years, let em have it with both barrels, would you suddenly be afraid to rip into the spurs in case an Oligarch purchased them, do you think ed025 misses a chance to rip them or pool a new one. Never.

They're are playing carp, the manager I seriously wouldn't want near Arsenal so any chance and they're having it from me.

Sticks and stones Banbury, rude words can't hurt you, if they turn things around its just a laugh, you'll soon see CTR back on here with his pathetic attempts at banter if they achieve anything, so don't worry fella, especially about something that can't hurt you.

Now whose up for paying £27 million for Fellaini, anyone?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

16 Dec 2014 17:01:51
Wow quite a nasty attack on me there mate, I have not once hounded or baited u on here. I could give u a few home truths about your little club but u would I'm sure just spout ure normal cr@p about being better than the team that came to your own ground, didn't have to play well and walked away comfortable winners. I really Don't get u, ure name says your older than 12 yet your posts suggest otherwise.

Grow up man.

Oh and by the way I wouldn't swap hardly any of my 3rd placed team with a team struggling to get 5th lol.

HAHAHA.

6 out of 6, less goals conceded, more goals scored, 5 more points, harder games out the way than u, yeh were awful.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - come on chris, your a realist mate, utd have done really well winning them last 6, but we all know lady luck has been smiling on you, add to that your keeper has been brilliant, i know you have had injuries but even you must admit that there is a lot of dross in that team chris, utd are the best of the rest at the moment but for me without your forwards and keeper you are a relegation outfit, the likes of jones, smalling, evans and mcnair are championship players, but fair play your guys are putting in a shift..so good luck to you..

We just need cazorla, Ramsey and the rest of the midfield to contribute more goals, which in fairness they're starting to do. I'd say cazorla, ramsey and the ox are capable of 20 a season each as are the likes of podolski and a few others could contribute more than they do in terms of goals. A weird descrepency exists between there ability and the number of goals scored

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - 20 a season each saint?..they will be very lucky to achieve 20 between them mate..

16 Dec 2014 17:26:38
337,

That mate is how you go fishing, he has been gagging to reply for weeks and here he is, hook line and sinker. PMSL.

Thanks REDman, knew I could rely on you.

You've still failed to learn from all the whippings you've had from Stoner, lfc, Blair Mayne, Marcellus Wallace, ed02 and more.

In fact you mostly copy them. Now that is sweet. ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - love it red dog..keith arthur would be proud of you mate..

16 Dec 2014 17:34:54
And I Still wouldn't swap many if any of our players for arsenals ed, that's the truth.

I thought being a realist was banned by reddog on here, he seems to attack anyone who dare have a negative comment to make about the gonners.

My honest assessment ed, yes we have had a element of luck over the last 6 games, David is a beast and with over 30 different defensive combinations used he's had to be. However I think it's a myth or just bitterness that United have been lucky over these 6 games I actually believe it's only one loss (when we were down to 10 men for an hour) in the last 12 or so, that ain't lucky if so mate I can't wait till we click.

Arsenal seem to think they deserved the win against us, why? Because u had a few more shots, well let's be honest David didn't make a worldie to keep us in it, any decent goal keeper would of stopped those shots. For the first 35 yes arsenal look dangerous, but they always have that patch in the game and in a way u want them too, u ride it out letting them bomb forward then counter, simples.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Dec 2014 17:44:13
Yeh mate, u try and turn around your pathetic attempt at an argument into a "I went fishing" after u got told.

By that I take you don't even believe your tripe u just wrote then heh?

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Dec 2014 17:52:34

Too many of them.

Greatest fans in the world Rob, u should try it, u will save more hair and won't feel angry all the time buddy.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Dec 2014 18:10:22
My honest opinion of Utd, and I have said it many times, in comparison to previous Utd sides, they are very poor.

Back in the day, you got nothing from the likes of Steve Bruce, Gary Pallister, Denis Irwin, Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand.
You had to work hard just to have a shot on goal.

Now?
Smalling, Jones, McNair, Shaw.

Rubbish back 4.

Old midfield.
Giggs, Keane, Robson, Kanchelkis, Butt, Beckham, Scholes, Ince.
Absolute class.

Now?
Fellaini, Valencia, Young, Anderson.
Terrible.

Upfront.
In comparison to older Utd sides, still very strong.

But, I wouldn't want Di Maria, RVP or Rooney.

DDG I would bite your hand off for.
Class keeper.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - come on dags..you would not want di maria or rooney?, i can see why you dont want RVP mate bit the other 2 are class..

16 Dec 2014 18:29:37
It's because his team are doing him so proud atm, flakey, gutless and overrated.

Your a team that for the last 6-7 years has always been one loss away from a crisis.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Dec 2014 18:35:26
Oh and dags mate, I totally agree with most of that post by the way. It's always a lot easier to look in from the outside at a team and give a decent assessment.

unless of course your blinded by bitterness and resentment. Hey young red pup?

Agree0 Disagree0

Making an honest observation of how things really are is Fawning over utd then I'm guilty as charged Red, plus giving an honest opinion of what I expect will happen in January and next season is fawning then I'm a big fat fawner.
There is no team I dislike more than utd including spurs and chavs but I try not let my personal veiw cloud my veiw of reality.
My top 4 in August were
Chavs
city
Arsenal
Utd
As that's how I felt the teams were in capabilities.
Utd have played above them self's and will add again in January and we have played below our capabilities and may or may add in January.
That's what I see but truly wish it wasn't that way and we were as far ahead for them this season as we were last but they've closed the gap and moved ahead of us again sadly

Agree0 Disagree0

Leave me out of this one, lol

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Dec 2014 18:20:07
OK Ed, I will give you Rooney (yes, he is class) but it goes against the grain to compliment him :-)

Di Maria?
Class player but I don't think he is going to cut it in the Prem. Another Ozil in the making I think mate.
Would rather have Bolasie tbh.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i happen to like bolasie dags..but he aint no di maria mate..

'We had an element of luck', 'its a myth or just bitterness that United have been lucky' - Which is it?
Also even Van Gaal said they were lucky to beat southampton, but I guess he was just being bitter? Anyone who watched the game could see they were lucky to beat us.
Anyway, you're supposed to be gone until January I thought? Yet you're still here lurking and waiting for any opportunity to spew your thoughts I see? Quite funny really.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dags, arsenal are worse off. you ate just naming out our worst midfielders are you forgetting herrera di maria mata carrick? Rather have fellaini than flamini and arteta (on recent form). United are making a progress. Arsenal are still the same . No spine , no bottle , no leader and that won't change till Aw is gone

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Dec 2014 19:30:30
Sorry 337,

He's just come in like a flapping like a Marlin and is still biting and digging himself out now. Lol.

No offence intended to you g62 but you do worry about them when it's City and Chelsea we need to be aiming at not worrying what's behind us. :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Dec 2014 20:06:35
Don't worry, Redman will disappear when reality hits home.

Southampton and Arsenal wins were daylight robbery, Liverpool clinical but still average.

Papering over the cracks perhaps. Its amazing after 6 months of fake humilty, everywhere I look the GGMU fans are out as bold as brass.

It's good for nostalga, but reality is United have been very light fingered over 5 games - the team is still weak at the back and it will show as the season progresses.

Be glad you aren't in the CL where you would be totally shown up.

Agree0 Disagree0

I confess Red I do worry about them overtaking us and leaving us behind again I really do. I didn't in August so much although I knew we'd need to improve keep ahead of them even then

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Dec 2014 20:21:05
Muire,

It was probably more a case of naming the Utd team who played at The Emirates (I threw Anderson in for shock value).

I agree Utd are making progress but only because you were so pi55 poor last season and how can you not improve on last season after spending £130,000,000 in the summer?

You say we have no spine, bottle or leaders?
And where are yours?
The last time I looked, Paul Ince, Roy Keane and Bryan Robson retired mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Dec 2014 21:08:26
g62, they really only could get better after last season but even Di Maria and Falcao haven't added much this season.

Blind, Herrera who can't shift Cazorla from the Spanish squad and Rojo are not stellar signings.

Their squad still has a mass of deadwood and it is a 38 game season and I believe we are ahead of them in quality and that we will finish above them. They are miles behind City and Chelsea. They can complain of injuries but they have been to mostly squad players.

They are a shadow of the great United squads and Young Chris like most United fans can't hack accepting that.

Time will tell mate and I predicted City, us then Chelsea as top 3, I still think City will win it but a chelsea melt down may be needed for my 2nd place to come true. Lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Dec 2014 21:09:32
I have been here all year mate, through the good and bad times, unlike ure friend red pup I don't go into hiding when my team ain't performing.

Bless ya pup, u really are a Muppet lol!!! u have no idea how this works and just constantly show ure self up to the point where even gooners will laugh at u if they dare risk the wrath of the puppy!!

I'm done with u for a bit now pup, u are a deluded, blinded angry little man who can't see the truth staring u right in your face. Come may when we finish at least 7 points in front of then we will talk and u can shout down at anyone that dare suggests arsenal are weak or not as good and u believe, having said that I'm sure u are very confident u will be higher than us, yes?

G62, u and bam bam are fast becoming my fav posters across the boards, u hate us, I get that why wouldn't u, but at least u can give and take criticisms without feeling the need to talk down on people in a insulting way.

Come in a few years if Wenger is gone and u are challenging again for titles, people will come back and say u were right all those years back, shame really.

Red pup we are looking up the league, tell me can u say the same atm? I couldn't tell u what points spurs or everton are on, but I bet u know. Lol

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - chris i respect you as a poster, but feel you are taking the banter too seriously mate, you have to realise that when you invade another clubs pages that not everyone will appreciate your views, but you have to be bigger than that, fella and im sure you are..good luck..

16 Dec 2014 21:48:02
Wow RED that was some nerve I hit, that has got to be the biggest hook, line and sinker of all time.

My post consisted of the simple word Pathetic and boy you just summed that word right up. Lol.

Van Gaal could be seen some what as a leader. Instills confidence and a winning mentality and Rooney and Carrick could also be seen as leaders. Who do ye have?

Have you seen the 'poo bus'?

Its the first bus that's being powered by human s**t in Bath, Somerset.

I was on one last week. The driver lost control, went through the railings, careered down the embankment and went straight into a river.

Lucky it was a floater.

I'm going to be predictable and say the amazing goal against Spurs when he beat 279 players and scored a beauty.

Poetry in motion.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

His 2nd goal at the san siro in a 5-1 win. Remember screaming at the tv pass it to pires! But then just slots in the far corner with his left foot

Agree0 Disagree0

Sneakily taking the ball off Stevie Gerrard and slotting it in.

We won't mention the ' Hand of King' against the republic for france

Apologies Red

Rude of me not to finish, I have never said they have better players than us, I am saying as a team they are performing much better .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

16 Dec 2014 14:52:36
I wouldn't say they are playing better, we do play well most games just can't finish our chances, whereas Manchester United do. I like our attack force and I really do like Giroud but we need a poacher who will finish the sort of chances we create each and every game

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Dec 2014 09:11:17
RED

Fair comment, I am guessing ( guessing ) you are suggesting they are somewhat lucky to be getting their results? I can understand that.

What will be you assessment at the end of the year IF they finish above us?

Lucky 38 times??

62 made the point about having a manager like Fergie, maybe we need him lol

DAGS has probably summed Man U up very well .they play like a team and it is certainly working better than our effort at the minute .

Just a reminder

They turned us over at home.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If by turned us over you mean played awful but somehow saved all our attempts and got lucky as hell, then sure. One day I will read a comment from you that isn't doom and gloom I hope.

They may not have turned us over, but they still won. They are getting the results they need at the moment, where as we're not. However with luck on our side, our rivals for 4th seem to be disappearing. can't see WH or Southampton keeping up any sort of threat for 4th. Just hopefully we can finally progress with the right buys and sales in January and the summer

Luck, fluke, skill, class.

They still turned us over.

Our strike force gets raved about, but the amount of shots we have some games which we don't put away is shameful. That's the difference between us and Manchester United they can put their opportunities away more or less every time. That's what cost us a loss that game, should have been 3-0 to us by half time.

Get Kos fit for Monaco and muddle through until he's 100% is my moto, stop start rushing him back is not the answer just take the time he needs to get back full time rather then having bits of him through out the season.

I think we are hoping AW will dip into the transfer market before then

It was fantastic to get a positive draw in the Champions League, avoiding potential winners of the competition. Monaco will provide stiff opposition, but are beatable.
The current main objective is to get through the difficult fixture congestion we are currently facing.
Some of the injured players are coming back, whilst others are more long term, such as Wilshere. The ongoing injury to Koscielny & Ox's groin problem are of a major concern. It appears that Koscielny's achilles injury has flared up again and at best he will need a long period of recuperation, at worst an op. Groin injuries such as Ox's can also be troublesome and I don't like the idea of playing him until he is fully fit.
Hopefully, we have players who can fill in, until the window opens, when we must buy at least one defender and a defensive midfield player. If Koscielny & the Ox are going to be out for some time, then we should consider signing an additional defender and a creative midfield player, possibly on loan. If we need to make space in the squad for these signings, then we must look at selling/releasing players, such as Rosicky (I believe Wenger is punishing him for speaking out about not playing regularly), Campbell (Wenger doesn't seem keen on playing him), Coquelin (clearly not good enough & only brought back due to the injury crisis), Abou Diaby (never fit & now the invisible man).
In any event let's get behind Wenger and the team. We have decent draws in the CL & the FA Cup, whilst despite a poorish start to the season, we are still in with a good shout of finishing in the top four.

{Ed025's Note - dont build your hopes up of a spending spree in january robbie, but i agree that top 4 is very obtainable..

I love how fans say we have a good chance of finishing 4th. this should be least we should accept. this was the year we should challenge.

so once again he has lowered our ambition so when we finish 4th we once again celebrate zzzzzzz

we will finish 4th no doubt groundhog day

Bambam,

Nobody touches our 4th place trophy :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Bearing in mind our relatively poor start to the season and massive injury problems, a top four place will be satisfactory. In reality the three clubs likely to finish above us have enormous resources, making it extremely difficult to finish above them. Although I also get frustrated by Wenger at times, he has kept us consistently near the top and in the Champions League, since he arrived back in 1996. Not many other teams have faired as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

Robbie we can't just say yes we got 4th what a season omg wenger has done it again we know who is too blame for not buying the right players and for some reason we always have injuries.

what wenger is doing is racing a Ferrari next to 3 other ferrarsi and the rest behind are fiats. we come 4th and he's popping the champagne when 4th is minimum to expect

guys don't slate me for this. I know this puts a dampener on what was the best draw for us but we seriously can't take it for granted.
we are better than monaco and really we should beat them but then I thought the same about anderlecht and we threw a 3 goal lead away against them.
i just worry because even though we are great going forward we are also very clumsy at the back and if if the first legs a score draw they can just park the bus in the return leg and play for a 0-0 then we are out.

I posted earlier that we shouldn't underestimate them.

Sure, they finished top of a poor group, but anybody who only concedes 1 goal in 6 CL qualifying group games are no mugs.

We should beat them, but 'should' is not definite.

Its a cup game and anything can happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

We won't do any worse than the last few years that's for sure, the Bayern and Barca games may have been heroic failure's but still we failed all the same.
I think we'll progress this time

It is a cup game dags but its two legs. less chance of a fluke.

But, if they sneak one than park le bus, it could be tricky.

I'm talking worse case scenario of course.

Layvin Kurzawa
Geoffrey Kondogbia
Lucas Ocampos

4 players I rate the rest are not much. I think the fact we are at home first actually hinders them. we could of blown the tie away by then

Man U have won their last 6 PL games, a better run than anyone else in the league.

That is form.

Explain in detail why you don't think it is

My thoughts on Utd.

They have the worst back 4 that any Utd side have ever had.
Yet they have the 4th best defensive record in the league.

They have the worst midfield that any Utd side have ever had.
No flair, no speed, too pedestrianised, no leaders.
Yet, they protect their back 4 very well.

Their attack?
Class.

They won't win the league, but anybody who thinks they can't finish in top 4 needs their head examined.

Outside of Chelsea and City, they are as good as anybody, including Arsenal.

Form means playing well, not getting skinned by teams but scraping a win. Yes that gets you points but if you believe that is form then I'm scratching my head!

If you've watched them play once and thought jeez these boys are special, then let me know which game.

If you think any one of those 16 players I listed would get in ours, Cities or Chelsea's squad, then let me know fella.

Ta. ;-)

{Ed025's Note - my view is that they are taking advantage of what barring the top 2 is a very mediocre league, they are working hard and yes getting results, but as far as a good side goes they are a mile short, as you say red dog its all about the quality of their attack, the rest of the team is very poor for me..

Theyve got a bloke in charge who demands the best of a bad bunch and makes them believe and get results that are better than they are, sound familiar, very Fergie like.
They'll be top four no question

I'm somewhat perplexed by all this concern of Man Utd, yes they have points on the board but they are a way short of a proper first team let alone a squad to challenge.

They would have been embarrassed in Europe had they qualified and I wouldn't touch that manager they dragged out of semi retirement from the Dutch national team with a barge pole. They still have more dead wood than we ever amassed.

What they achieve is yet to be seen and a name no longer counts for anything as spending huge amounts on transfer fees and wages has shown.
