WELSH

Do you really expect to post a comment that we would win when I thought we wouldn't'

It is about opinions

Wenger made 7 changes yes 7 against a side that thrashed our first team 5-1 last week and it could have been 8.

Please don't tell me everyone on here expected an Arsenal win, I was just brave enough to make the comment.

And then admit I was wrong, not too sure I said Wenger out in any of my posts .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Right if I have offend you then i'm sorry I just answered you post as I will now
1 -know put what you like, but does it need 3/4 times to be said
Last one out turn the lights out, it will be 3 nil
2, yes its about opinions, i'm having mine on yr necative comments .
3 yes wenger made 7 changes, we lost 5-1 did you want the same side, I didnt
4 yes you were brave enough, but did you need to go on and on about it before the game, I think we had a good side out, not what I would have liked to see us play, but then I don't know if some of our better players are carrying knocks
5 yes you did admit you, got it wrong, as I said I didn't meen to offend
Banbury we are on the same side, we disagree, that's it.
answer me these few questions if you don't mind
1 do you think wenger wanted to loose that game?
2 do you think wenger knows a little bit more then all of us about if any players are carrying knocks
3 do you want wenger to stay if we win nothing, it may happen, I realy hope not
I will tell you how I feel, I don't like poldiski comming off all the time, i'm not keen on monreal insted of gibbs.
Jenkinson scares me because he can be very good or very bad,
sonagogo up front, read a lot about him, thought diroud needed a break and prefered the young lad to bentner,
flamini.world class organises our team puts the boot in, I tell my son to watch him of the ball allways orgaisisng
flappi played one of his best game I've seen him play
But in the end I beleave wenger knows more then I do, so I have to beleave in him

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree with you Banbury. I was massively one of the culprits of that. Anyone who knows anything about football whatsoever would not have bet against Liverpool beating us. When I saw the team sheet I was thinking here we go again. But it beggars the question of WHY! did Arsene send a line up out like that? ok we won, great!
All I can think of is that the further we go in the Champions League the more revenue it generates for each stage so maybe it is about the larger income the CL brings in for us progressing in that. I don't believe even Wenger thought we would dig out the win yesterday. But there you go what else can I say .

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree, we are all entitled to our own opinion. If somebody says they think we won't win its because of form and team selection, not because they don't want Arsenal to win.

If Arsenal do win, they shouldn't have to eat humble pie based on their pre-match opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dags love you man your like a counseller LOL Very very well put. Totally agree of course we all want Arsenal to win absolutely but also we all get frustrated with how things are going sometimes. Maybe this season we have gotten quite successful without us realising and when we draw it feels like a loss. Opinions, nobody on here is going to agree on everything it would make football really boring. Can you imagine what it would be like? " he played well " Oh yes he did didn't he " "And did you see the way all the players passed to each other? " Oh Fantastic wasn't it?" . LOL It wouldn't be normal boys and girls. Ok as am example I don't really rate Sanogo so far I saw him make two or three pretty basic bad misses air balls etc. I know it's his first game but I'm frustrated because I feel we should have had a better player. But there you go other people saw something different to me. That's life. But what I don't like to see on here is when somebody gets steam rollered for not saying what is expected. I said it earlier if you put your hand on your heart you would never have bet Arsenal to win that game before the start . It doesn't mean we didn't want them to win. If we had lost Arsene would have been slaughtered this morning for his selection no denying that is there? He came out on top, luckily.

Agree0 Disagree0

I was expecting a win, and I think we won for two reasons.

Tactical nous
and
the change in team.

wenger pulled out some slower players and put in pace, the one thing we lacked in the 5-1 game.

we sat further back on lpools counter attacks, with our wingers not pushing up so high per had lots of protection.

frustrating that it was only 2 goal lead, but with how we played it could of easily been 0-0 at the end.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank you Golds, lol.

I am, after all, the voice of reason, lol.

Well what a breath of fresh air and optimism today has been! I am the first to say when I saw Flamini and Arteta together I did think we may struggle but I am very happy to chow down on humble pie and say Arsene knows best!

Not a vintage performance but job done, confidence back on the rise and sets us up nicely for Bayern mid week.

Big shout out to MOTM Not so flappy handski today. Very good performance. The Ox played really well and I'm glad Poldi got a goal. Love the guy!

Lastly, Yaya did really well considering he's been out for so long.

COYG!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

For sanogo to come in after being a scapegoat until özil signed. Then to make his first start, against an inform team in a massive game, he has done himself proud. Really happy for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

"Flappy handski"

I love that, classic.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi:)
LFlapski was awesome, super saves, and see the emotion at the end:):) yaya, yep was good too:):) yep, when saw MA and Flam, thought oh no!:) but was ok:):) well done all the lads:)excellent. and. Everybody on here has been moaning about our lack of activity in the January transfer window, and rightly so, but I didn't realise we signed Howard Webb, lol.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

DG,

How much did we pay Untied for him again?

Agree0 Disagree0

Got him on a freebie I think mate

16 Feb 2014 21:34:49
Thoughts on Sanogo folks?

I thought he played extremely well for a young player fresh out of division two in France.

He's been ravaged by injuries which is quite worrying, but hey, he wouldn't be an Arsenal player otherwise ;)

He looked a bit off in the shooting department, but by gosh he got stuck in. Definitely doesn't look like he's frightened of the harsh battles of the Premiership.

To come to a big club like Arsenal, have a rough start, no playing time and then to introduce yourself like that, in an FA Cup game against a team on top of their game at the moment. I think he done brilliantly.

Don't want to get my hopes up too much but hopefully he can become the real deal. Dare I say the player Adebaywhore was in the season we all loved him.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Boozy, I think your post sum's it up perfectly. Nothing to add really mate, good assessment.

I like the kid to be honest.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Feb 2014 22:30:24
I know it's only one game but he did himself and us proud, he got stuck in and his turn and shot led to the Ox's opener.

He looks like he has used his time out to bulk up too, sure he didn't look that big when he first played.

With game time he can only improve.

Agree0 Disagree0

After we were linked with him and eventually agreed to sign him, I watched him carefully at the Under 20 World Cup alongside Kondogbia.

He scored a couple of goals and made a few. Played really well and looks decent. Could be a very good addition, especially as he came on a free.

Agree0 Disagree0

Shows great promise and great tenacity. Friends of mine saying 'had a terrible game, what goods a forward that just runs into people.'

Think he wanted to prove a point and my work he proved it tonight. So exited today, the sort of excitement we've gotten from gnabry and zelalem!

Agree0 Disagree0

His pace for his size is blistering! did you not see how many through balls looked too far gone, but then you blink and Sanogo is battling one fo the defenders to get to it and almost does 9/10 times.

also what I loved, about 70th min you could see yaya appealing to the crowd to cheer and stuff. A guy who no one really knows, or loves or anything. actively interacting with his new fans? just what we need. get prolific yaya and youll be a legend here

Agree0 Disagree0

I plead the 5th.

Fair play today gooners, shame we were pitted together so early in the cup.

Was wondering (albeit in a marginally drunken haze) if liverpool and arsenal fused a team together what peoples thoughts were on who would be in the livernal/arsepool *snigger* starting eleven!

Good luck in the cup, class team, class support

Just goes to show how much Liverpool was scared of us today>>>

When Fabianski's laces came undone, Sturridge rushed over and did them up for him. That's what you call fear. (SMILES)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I actually think that gesture was a piece of "Makes me believe in humanity". They were in a hurry but instead of moaning, he did that. That was class.
And Dg could you answer my previous question? please?

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Feb 2014 21:04:48
Well done today gooners. I have a soft spot for Arsenal even though your club has broke my heart TWICE in football matches.
The first was the 1987 league cup final with that Charlie Nicolas/Ronnie Whelan (own) goal. It broke my heart because I think it was the first ever game Liverpool had lost when Rushie had scored. I thought the laws of physics had been re-written.
The second was obviously Michael Thomas at Anfield. We would have been the first ever team to win the FA cup/league double twice, plus it was an emotional season to say the least.

But despite Arsenal breaking my football heart twice I still have a soft spot for your club. One of the true great footballing giants, but also an honourable club.

Plus one of my favourite non-Liverpool British players was undoubtedly Rocky Rocastle. What a legend. We had a fantastic team in those days and he was one of the few players I thought could walk into our side. Legend! R.I.P

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You know what, it brings a tear to the eye when opposing fans big up Rocky. Fair play to ya mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aaaaahhh Ken,

What a lovely trip down memory lane.
Remember them both very well and will never forget the Brian Moore comment "Its up for grabs now" as Michael Thomas slid the ball past Grobbelaar. Such sweet memories.

But, you did gain some revenge when we hammered you out of sight in the 2001 FA Cup final, only for Michael Owen to score 2 goals with your only attack's in the game, lol.

Rocky Rocastle? Absolute legend mate, may he continue to rest in peace.

Great post Ken and hope I haven't put the hex on the lucky pants.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Feb 2014 21:01:46
Jesus Dags that win today did you no favours fixture wise. March was tough enough for you guys. Stoke(a), Everton replace Swansea(h) which will have to be rearranged, Bayern(a), Tottenham(a), Chelsea(a), City(h), then Everton(a) 1st week in April. My goodness I didn't realise it would be that intense. I hope you got a big gee up today to pull you through it. If ye come out of that lot on the front foot ye deserve all ye get. I'd love to see ye finish above Mourinho just to silence him ha ha.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Simon, I know mate I was just looking at the fixture list, it's a nightmare.

I'm going to be slightly controversial. I have said it before and I will say it again, seeing as though you have broached the subject.

If, and I do mean IF, we get knocked out by Bayern, I would not be too upset because I don't think we have a strong enough/ good enough squad to keep competing on all 3 fronts.

Something has to give and there's no shame in getting knocked out by Bayern, the possible/probable winners.

Result? we concentrate on the League and FA Cup, that's about 14/15 games without no European distraction.

Now, some people on here may have a moan about what I just said and may even accuse me of not being a proper supporter, far from it.

I'm just being realistic because I want us to win a trophy at the end of the season and not come 4th in Prem League, beaten finalists in the FA Cup and lose in the semi-final's of the Champ's League.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ye mate it's really about momentum, beat chelsea and finish above em that'd be good enough for me ha ha. We'll do our best to beat em too, there's a 6 point cushion for ya ha ha

Agree0 Disagree0

Merts, Podolski, Ozil will all want to do well against Munich -no Ribery. Win at home where we've been good and then park the bus away.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes mate,

If memory serves me right, you have Chelsea and Man City at home and the way your currect form is at Anfield I would love you to beat them both.

That would do both of us a favour (as long as we beat Chelsea away and City home), otherwise you might end up above us come May, lol

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Feb 2014 21:00:36
Ok with 7 changes made today all of a sudden out sqaud doesn't look quite as thread bare as it did, personally I thought that today was the best we have looked in 2014.
Aarons back the beginning of March so maybe we are turning a corner others may yet have to negotiate.

The team to face Bayern doesn't seem as predictable as it did yesterday and our options more open, this week could be our Ying to last weeks blow below the Yang's .

Big shout for the Ox today hitting top gear just when we need him most

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good point G62

16 Feb 2014 20:14:23
Well what a fantastic result, great edge of the seat game, Liverpool will rightly be disappointed they are playing some terrific stuff.

Really pleased for our defence admirably backed up by Fabianski who pulled off some top saves. We did have chances to score more as they did.

The atmosphere sounded terrific and it must have been wonderful to be there. They did the guys proud. The 12th man.

I would also like to say a big thank you to our pages 12th man, amongst lots of great posters on here he is the shining light of positivity (is that a word) and never fails to make me smile.

gunner62 thank you and if we win something I'm holding you personally responsible for sending out all the right vibes :-)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He's a top lad '62 but he must have a fat ****. He's stretched the elastic waistband on my lucky pants. He's destroyed LFC's season now.

Still he's got good taste in kitchens. What did you think about my designer rinser '62?
;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Jenny,
I'm holding him personally responsible too, a little birdy tells me he distracted Howard Webb by jamming his ear pieces frequency lmao xx

Agree0 Disagree0

I will second that jenny, true fan and always gets his posts spot on! You along with dags make this page worth reading everyday :) so thank you? Lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Jenny,

Totally agree with you. I use to be very positive, along with G62.

I think we were probably the 2 most positive people on here but over the past few weeks I have dipped big-time whilst G62 has continually carried the flame of positivity (yes that is a word Jenny, lol).

I too, would like to give a big shout out to G62, an absolute legend on the Gunners banter page.

G62, we salute you and your positivity, keep it up fella.

Thank you Essex, very kind of you dear Sir.

well done lads. brave decision by wenger today and it paid off - just!
everytime suarez got the ball another turtle head, the guy is simply class. today was about character and pride and I think we passed with honours - fabianski had a stormer and we have him to thank today
jenko didn't do too much wrong but still makes me edgy when he is under pressure
merti and kosci were awesome in keeping Liverpool at bay with timely interceptions and organising, Liverpool blew us away in the first 10 minutes again but we didn't concede which gave the defence confidence.
monreal like jenko doesn't fill me with confidence but got the job done.
arteta once again gave away too many silly fouls, doesn't give us any drive, rather play flamini by himself in defensive mid.
flamini marshalled well gives us more balance imo.
ozil was involved in a lot of good play and showed some character, needed confidence boost
ox - man of the match with fabianski today, everything we need at the moment - drive pace and passion, took goal well and added assist- lucky to get away with penalty decision, would have been given at anfield, but suarez rep got him out of jail!
podolski - played well took goal well job done.
sonogo - fair play, I was worried when I saw his name on the team sheet but ran his socks off and gave the Liverpool defence a hard time, first touch was a bit off but should improve with regular football, gives us an alternative to bendtner.
subs
cazorla - missed a sitter and looks out of sorts needs to pull up his socks and get with it
gibbs - came on and shored things up on the left
giroud - ticked down the clock

just what arsenal needed before the big one against Bayern, you could see how much it meant to them at the end of the game - now keep up the momentum and stick it up the germans!

ps mourinho is trying to play mind games but in my opinion it should give the players and manager more drive to shove his words up his you know what, the arrogant so and so!

16 Feb 2014 20:26:41
Well what can I say, game analysis. Pool deserved to win, if sturidge had his shooting boots on would have been over before we scored .but we won great boost after last week. Sanogo love him, hood work rate and gave their backs something to think about all game.ozil turned up, the ox was great, great to have flamini back, flappy made some good saves.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

16 Feb 2014 20:25:51
Today was a great result, thought that the ox, sanogo, monreal and fabianski played brilliant today! Very good game for the neutral, bit nerve racking near the end but glad with the result!

I think if suarez didn't flail about like a fish out of water then he would have got a penalty, Stevie G should of been sent off with a second yellow so I guess it evens itself out.

Last note, santi ballooning it over the bar, he had so much time to take it down and shoot! Oh well we still won. Pease out COYG!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes Essex, Santi should have buried that one mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Feb 2014 20:02:24
We have all criticised him at times, doubted his judgement and sometimes with fair reason.

But today we should ALL salute Arsene Wenger, brave team selection that could so easily have gone wrong but today and he would have been slaughtered, but it didn't and he won't be :-)

Love or hate him or in between he deserves great credit today.
Well done Arsene and thank you

Disappointed but a good game from both sides.

Thought we were the better side once The Ox and Podolski went off.
Hope you go on to win it now.
Good luck for the rest of the season too. A nice 1-2 finish in the league for both of our teams would be nice.

Quick question though, when did Howard Webb get his transfer away from Man U? ;-)

They truly are a credit to their football team and football supporters in general.

Good fight from the lads today! Thought Fabianski was brilliant as were Mert and Kos. The attacking trio of Ox, Ozil and Pod works well and is fast on the counter. Anyway,

Team for Bayern:

Szczesny; Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs; Flamini, Wilshere; Chamberlain, Ozil, Podolski; Giroud

Subs: Fabianski, Vermaelen, Monreal, Arteta, Cazorla, Gnarby, Bendnter/Sanogo

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No rosicky?

Think Arteta is banned for that game so replace him with Rosicky

well done arsenal,, proper cup tie and that sanogo fella is a beast, yet another good signing by a master of a manager (something different). many very good performances by players on both sides and the pace of the game was quite astonishing. decisions decisions, many to debate but the scoreline stays the same. feeling absolutely gutted ( the cats done a runner! ) but all said and done cracking game. 12 games left for us now 36 points to play for and nothing to sidetrack us may be in our favour. i'm loving the way my team has been playing this season with our attacking intent even in defeat, and I feel for the lads having taken the game to a top side at every opportunity and yet they leave empty handed. (thats football) . good luck in the next round against everton who are also having a cracking season so another great game in the making. i'm off now to try and remove the fur ball stuck in my throat.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Liverpool had chances but unlike anfield where ever shot was a corner shot, this time around it was straight at the keeper.

I am beginning to wonder if Suarez can play the big teams. he is a sensational player but strikers are not merited on their assists in big games. all his shots were just punts and those fall to many strikers, I was looking for something different from him, but he does not have that other level.

Dont get me wrong he is world class, would take him in a heartbeat, but when you look at the big game scores, his stats are the lowest of most world class strikers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Best of luck for the rest of the season mate, thank you

Lol, thanks Sizemick.

You are right, it could have gone either way and you boys played really well,

Missed the game as I had to go to watch that salsa film with the wife.

Sounds like Mr Webb did not have a great game.

From what I hear we played well but you battled through.

Good luck on Wednesday. It would be great if you can do a number on Bayern.

Also hope you can beat Everton and get to Wembley.

We just have 12 cup finals between now and the end of the season

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Suarez dived for the first one, slightest of touch, but still penalty and over dived for the second. if he had not over dived for the second, rolling around like he was sniped from Afghanistan, you guys would be still in this tie.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Tommy,

To be fair is was a nailed on penalty, webby was standing 10 feet away and didn't give it, amazing.

Was a very good game mate and your boys played well and at times we were hanging on by the skin of our teeth.

Good luck for rest of season.

To be fair had we taken our chances we would not have needed to be discussing Webb's poor performance and Suarez's over elaborating.
We missed our chances you guys took yours. Fair play to you and G.L.

This is a big result. Liverpool, alongside City, are the best team we've faced this year and we've somehow beaten them twice. Not sure we 'deserved' to win but showed immense character to get the result. The question really is whether we can fight that hard every big game. If so, we'll win something this year.

evryear the bookies don't have us as favoraites, we havnt yet paid all our debits, i'm glad we run our club like we do yes it will take time, if we paid out big share bonuses then I would be knocking on ivans door, let's enjoy our large slice of luck on a few desisions

Well I am amazed, the starting XI should have been blown away, really does show how poor we were at Anfield, hopefully this will raise the belief and push on to a long unbeaten run.

Apologies for being so negative. I am sure I wasn't alone

Banbury mate I can fully understand your feelings before the game and mark of a man to put his hands up Geeza.
Its Arsene's day and he really deserves it brave brave man

Agree0 Disagree0

Gotta give a little respect for saying sorry - why rub his nose in it?

Well done boys - great result. Nw I know what it's like to get a dodge ref decision in our favour. Now I know what it's like for the Pool and Utd at home!

Agree0 Disagree0

Welshgooner

I AM NOT A WENGER OUT MAN, but there couldn't have been many Gooners in the stadium that had paid £135 for their ticket that were filled with confidence when the side was announced, I just thought what a massive massive gamble it was against the form team in the league.

Arsenal showed a lot of character, same again against Munich is needed

Agree0 Disagree0

Credit to Banbury for holding his hands up.

I too have questioned Arsene and the team, I'm pretty certain we all have, it just means you care about the team.

Long may it continue.

only realy wenger knows who is fit or may have a nigle,

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Gold boy terrible post.

This guy played his first game for many many months worked his socks off had a big part in our first goal I think it was out of him and fab for man of the match.

If he works that hard in every game he plays in, I think he is a much better option than bendtner.

why was henderson not started was he having that two pence piece removed from his ass cheeks,
Best of luck for the rest of the season

Agree0 Disagree0

It was his 2nd game. Barely anyone will hit their best that quickly. I really like the look of him - interacted with the crowd and fought for every ball. His end product was a bit sloppy but we'll have to wait a few games to judge him properly on that. He looks like he will be very useful in the run-in, particularly in terms of giving Giroud some breathers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Golds,,

He did ok mate, hard job leading the line on your own and in pretty much his first game all season.

At times he looked like Bambi on ice but he did ok mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sanogo was in many ways my M.O M
Typified a brave gutsy performance
Could play a big part in the run in

Agree0 Disagree0

After the lay-off and injuries this lad has had Sanogo was terrific tonight - he bullied, harried and annoyed the hell out of two really good centre backs and created space for the other players. Shows a great deal of promise to be a top player.
Also thought MO looked much better today working alongside the L-Pod.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Unless there's significant progress made then Wenger doesn't deserve a new contract.
I don't mind us not winning the league but with the resources available to him I think as fans we should expect to push all the way, especially considering all of our rivals have had huge managerial changes last summer and we didn't lose our best player for a change.

16 Feb 2014 13:33:25
My two cents on Mourinho - Bob Wilson, top lad that he is, has come out in defence of our manager, but I doubt Wenger will be too bothered. And he shouldn't be.

People, myself included, are getting a bit frustrated again with Le Prof due to Jan window and poor results. But Mourniho's comments actually highlight everything that is good about Wenger. What Mourinho is effectively saying is that personal glory is more important than loyalty to him. "I'd leave London and never come back if I hadn't won anything in 8 years." Wenger has made mistakes but doesn't have such a fickle attitude. He continues to fight for the team because he believes, rightly or wrongly, that he is building a firm future.

I definitely get frustrated with Arsene and want him to do some things differently. But I'd rather have him than someone who, although is undeniably a very good manager, has mainly had success at mega-spending clubs, leaves them when things aren't working out for him, and throws tantrums/sulks whenever it looks like he won't win.

Mourinho's comments don't really say anything about Wenger, because he doesn't understand him. Most of all, they just show that Mourinho is cracking and may be having his own mini 'February collapse'.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

16 Feb 2014 14:17:02

He must constantly doubt himself. Eejit.

Is there a danger of Jack becoming a Charlie Nicolas for us?
What I mean is Charlie was an Arsenal darling who we always wanted to believe was as good as his potential had promised so we celebrated his success's a bit to much and forgave his failings a little easily because we wanted him to be a success.

Jack is just turned 22 and had injuries of course but when you look at other players who are delivering week after week at his age are we kidding our self's because we want it to be true again?
Just a question I have asked myself and thought I'd throw out there

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good question G62,

I loved Charlie nic, he was the Darling of Highbury, mega flamboyant character.

I think Jack can follow in his footsteps, just needs to clean up his act a little and stop falling over all the time.

Personally, I don't think we should be talking about the potential of Jack, I think he should be reaching his potential NOW but he needs to knuckle down.

Has anybody noticed (what with the Ozil post the other day), that i'm not very patient? lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Gunner 62, I think so, I’m afraid.
Jacks light burned ever-so brightly at the beginning, but, has not been a constant since his injuries, I played mid-field in my playing days, there was no way I was ever going to show pain, or that the other side was getting to me, in a tactical sense. I’m 47 so obviously the modern game is different, and I haven't played pro level football, that said, once you get to a reasonable standard of football, the midfield is the engine, particularly so in Arsenals game, the other teams know Jack can be got at, they seem to target him, if he starts today, count how many times he falls over, or how many hard tackles he gets, he seem a bit fragile, too quick to throw his arms up in the air, that said Rambo looked like that last year didn’t he

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think so at all Dags. But I'm glad people are under-rating him. He had a poor game against Man U but has, in my opinion, been our best player in 2014. Look at our January victories - he had a big part in all of the ones he was involved in. People rave about Ross Barkley, for example, and I think he is class too. But Wilshere beats him on almost every statistical level this season. Plus there was THAT goal against Norwich.

Jack is a class act. He let's himself down a bit in terms of discipline, and that's probably the main cause of criticism. But, as far as I'm concerned, people can keep their opinions while Jack keeps fighting for our team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Charlie was flamboyant that's for sure and we did love him, although even in his finest hour he needed Ronnie Whelan's help :-) something we chose to play down because we loved him so much.
Name you best Arsenal 11's and how many sides before champagne Charlie gets a game :-)
Hope Jack can do better and believe he can but not so sure he will

Agree0 Disagree0

Oleg I have massive respect for your knowledge of the game mate so I am prepared to trust you on Jack but to me he seems lose the ball a LOT and create very little end product.
But as I say your posts are always good Oleg so I'm going to trust you on this one, your reputation is in Jacks feet my friend :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Feb 2014 14:24:47
I think he's a gem and just need to feel that the injury is well and truly behind him and that he can stand up to a full on season and not have it stuck in the back of his mind.

Once that happens he will be huge for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Feb 2014 11:09:53
Although our home record is very good, the last 6 matches at the Emirates have been 0-0 at half-time.

We really need to be on the front foot from the first whistle and do to Liverpool what they did to us at Anfield last week.

Come on boys, its statement time.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree DG we should dictate this game from the off, but I doubt we will.
Liverpool are a fast improving side but I think we are still ahead of them in the progress stakes, but the problem nis both we and the team have started to doubt it and our self's.
Do the have to team lift us or do we have to lift them?
No more booing total support would be a good start

Micah Richards 8 million? solves many problems and is a gooner already.
Mario Balotelli half price with Puma money and would soon become a gooner legend IMO, plus would be that character that gives us all a lift.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I would definitely take Richards but i'm just not sure about Balotelli.

I didn't like him at City, too much "the world is against me" attitude but, yes definitely a great player.

Just not sure if I would want to see him in my beloved Arsenal shirt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Richards is too injury prone for my liking, although when he hits form he is a beast. As for Balotelli his discipline is a major issue.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Feb 2014 00:19:57
RVP in the summer anyone?

Would you welcome him back?

We need to surround Ozil with a bit more pace and movement as well as someone to convert chances

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Rvp would be a quick fix. There's many reasons I don't want him.
His age
Hisreturn to injury prone-ness
The fact he's a treacherous person
His £200k a week wages.

He has 2 more years at the top and who knows how they will go, would much rather we looked elsewhere.

Balotelli is a lunatic but seems to be calming down a bit. He's a beast and perfect for our set up.
Alternatively Costa if he hast already signed for Chelsea - if he has then Lukaku? Or Manzukic, Hig. let's face it there's dozens better than what we have

Agree0 Disagree0

As a bench-warmer, definitely a yes.

Agree0 Disagree0

A step backwards deffinately no :-)
Sorry but what message does that send to the current squad? Go but if you don't like it we'll be waiting.
