I agree wit dags and thought he could of done a good job for us. he may not be the flashiest player but he knows were the net is. absolute steal at 4 mill.

In the absence of going all out for a top striker Charlie boy wouldn't have done our title chances any harm at all, credible back up to Giroud with a proven record for premier league goals 18 last season in a side who were relegated which incidentally is 2 more than Ollys best premier league return for a season.
Before anyone gets out their pram I'm not saying he's a better player than Olly just that his premier league scoring record is better while playing in a team that created much fewer chances than we do which does suggest he is a better finisher even if not all round player than Giroud is.

It really is dags it's a crime hope Koeman was wearing a balaclava when he did the deal. Austin would have been happy to play from the bench . Southampton are no mugs.

He would have been happy coming off the bench, or to cover Giroud if he was injured or suspended or to play alongside Giroud if we were chasing the game.

I'd have loved to seen Charlie at Arsenal having watched him at knitbury, Hungerford and Swindon and have followed his career closely.
But unfortunately I had the pleasure of seeng what fame and fortune has done to this young recently.

Believe me guys it wouldn't have been worth it.

I read further down we are worried about Stoke due to our poor record there, then adding attacking flair will suit us and we will win I promise! Our previous record was due to them parking the bus and kicking lumps out of us - and I'm not a "stokeist" I promise.

Stoke under Mark Hughes are the best side they've been for years, he's kept the work ethic and team effort of Tony Pulis and added more football to their game.
A win there tomorrow would be an excellent result which certainly is not beyond us but we wil need everyone to be 100% up for it to get all 3pts.
Gabriel should start because they will play Mertesacker at every opportunity as Southampton and Liverpool did so well, I'm just surprised its taken teams so long to concentrate on him.

True 733 but its also true Germany went the longest they've ever been without winning a Euro or world title during those 100 caps and only regained success once he was replaced in the side :-)

Clearly Stoke can beat us as they can anyone BUT I believe we are far better equipped now to handle the pressure and fight for the title as well as have the talent to do it.

We must fight for it every game and play with intensity - we can't afford any slip ups:

"If you had one shot, one opportunity, to cease everything you ever wanted, in one moment, would you capture it or let it slip"

Ozil, Per, Cech, Rambo, Sanchez, Giroud, Santi, Kos. Fighters, winners and great experience. Time to show it more than ever as we are in the straight and we need our leaders to help the youngsters.

Against Liverpool, I wouldn't say any of our defenders were terrible. It was just brilliant attacking football both ways

He is not the best, but I think he is good. Under his captaincy I think we have a very good win ratio as well. We have some supposed terrific defenders in John Terry, Kompany, Vidic who are very good but their national teams won nothing lol. There is a reason he was in the German team (pitch or bench) , Loew knows best :)
