16 Jan 2018 20:44:17
If we pull these signings off, aboombangbang, melcom and mkhitaryan, would that be enough in your eyes to save AW job? Personally i think its too little too late.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I would agree.}

16 Jan 2018 20:55:23
Whatever happens, I don't think he will get sacked.

If he wants to see out the remainder of his contract, he will.

I hope I'm wrong.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i think it will be by mutual agreement dags..

16 Jan 2018 21:02:54
the job upstairs is awaiting him, he doesn't really have much to lose.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - What job?}

16 Jan 2018 21:03:46
I think the clock is counting down and we all know that only a certain number of events will save him. Not all these players are his choices that's obvious. He is approaching last chance saloon i think.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 21:03:33
The only way Wenger could save his job is to win the Europa league and Mickey Mouse cup, and that’s not personally that’s what I think would happen if he didn’t win anything and we are out of the top 4 I think he will walk.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 21:16:51
i'm not sure even that will save him even if by some miracle it happened. Watching us defend and watching Chec over the last couple of seasons we are in dire need of a refresh, new players, new ideas, new hope.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 21:18:52
We all know that what has gone on in the last few months would mean the sack at most top clubs. I can't believe he hasn't had conversations letting him know its not good enough. Whatever we think of mike dean as well, that is worrying what he did, not very professional.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 21:21:10
I pulled you up on this the other day steve! He’s not approaching anything he is on his back with his legs in the air whilst a dog pisses on his face. For someone who has beeen the herald of this black winter you sure are been generous to the old man.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 21:06:42
Heard he has a exec job lined up Ed002.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Well, which job would that be?}

16 Jan 2018 21:30:04
no idea mate just a rumour that was doing the rounds.

16 Jan 2018 21:34:10
Ed025,
Agree mate. Plus, make sure you look after my boy Theo 😁.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i will try dags, but if he does not perform he will get slaughtered like the rest of them mate..

16 Jan 2018 21:42:51
Sano you know me i ain't generous to him at all. Lol he should have gone a long while ago.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 21:45:35
Ive heard he's going as understudy to Charlie George.

16 Jan 2018 21:57:10
An exec job ed is where a person is paid his weight in chupa chips to watch young French kids play football.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 22:49:30
I have always wondered if he would end up staying in london or head back to france. still not sure.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2018 11:08:22
You don't give up a precious piece of property in Totteridge and Whetstone that easily DG. its like giving up the crown jewels! . I can see him becoming the manager of an international team in the future where he can still be based in London.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 22:58:35
Ed002 seeing as this topic was about arsene I was wondering what your opinion is on the job he is doing at arsenal and why his stature if that's the right word for it has declined so much in many of the fans views.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - He should have moved on a couple of years ago. I would think with the management changes that he will move on in the summer. I don't think his stature has declined at all - he has done what he sees as best for Arsenal.}

17 Jan 2018 12:40:25
In reply to sparkys original post, i don't think those signings would make 1 iota of difference as they wouldn't be Wengers signings, especially Auybamalangadingdong who he isn't interested in.

Once a Gooner - always a Gooner

Campbell, 1 of the strongest ever Arsenal defence players, wants the opportunity to help.

"I'd crawl back [to Arsenal]", Campbell said to talk sport.

16 Jan 2018 18:49:37
Sanchez once a gooners always a. oh wait he's off.

Henry, once a gooners always a. ooops he wanted a move too.

Unless they come through the ranks, these players mearly earn and win as much as they can where they can.

ps Kane once a Spur always a Spur.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 20:28:34
NES Kane will leave spurs one day. As will deli Ali. I actually appreciate how your club does it’s business, but let’s face it your not going to win the league this year or next year and probably not the year after, even if you keep poch and sqauad. Let it go . You as a club have climbed the huge summit arsenal to sit with us as also rans.

16 Jan 2018 22:47:31
Raver your history books are on the same shelves as 60s mods and rockers and churchill. Lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2018 09:59:22
And they are on the 80s shelves with Thatcher, paisley shirts and chinos when we won the first club to win the FA cup back to back and then lift another European trophy in 84.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2018 14:52:41
Nearer the 60s than to now.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 15:42:17
If everything goes through, we move all the touted front players on and bring in auba miki and malcom. Since last summers plus investment, it could end up not costing an awful lot at all in todays terms. Its just can arsenal actually get it done, its not usually what they do very good. It would then be a fresh start to a pretty dour run. Can we really sell these players a future?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

16 Jan 2018 16:57:42
I think there is a strong possibility of these coming off, coincedence that new back room staff were put in place late last year, I think not. let's just hope we don't do our usual, go on and on about a player and then refuse to get anywhere near the selling clubs price.

Agree0 Disagree1

16 Jan 2018 17:05:27
Malcom isn’t coming.

Agree1 Disagree1

16 Jan 2018 17:58:26
Happy with Mkhitaryan ( plus cash) , Auba, Nzonzi and Evans - these address issues that need sorting

Malcolm would be required when Oli and Theo leave as it leaves us short.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 19:38:36
There isn’t going to be cash from Utd, it’s going to be a player for player swap if it happens.

Hi guys just popped over to say how delighted I am that we are getting Wallcot I think he is a great player and will flourish with our club. I know you guys going through a bit of transition with players at the moment but yis are a fantastic club huge club in fact and you will be up there in the next two years challenging for the title keep the heads up lads Sanchez is just a money grabber but you will replace him best of luck for the rest of the season. always like you as a football club👍.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

16 Jan 2018 13:57:44

Wally is a good player. 100 goals in 400 games as a winger.

He will flourish at Goodison.

Same to you Stef.

As long as we don't get relegated, I'll be happy 🤣.

Agree0 Disagree1

16 Jan 2018 14:55:21
Glad Walcott is off his a one trick pony and has never kicked on . I blame Wenger for not getting the best out of him and hope he can salvage a bit of his flagging career but he should shoulder a lot of the blame how he drawed his wage some weeks is a disgrace held the club to ransom for new contract some years back . Good luck but you won’t be missed now clear out the rest of deadwood including Wenger . Worst I’ve felt about this club since supporting them we are a shambles at the moment 😬.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i cant argue with that clockend, hes not very consistent but i dont think wenger did him any favours at all, arsenal need to shell out some big bucks if they want to compete next season but im not confident that they will, it looks like arsene will go in the summer so the new guy will want to bring in his own players but to be honest mate i dont think its an easy fix..

16 Jan 2018 15:21:31
I think in a more rigid 4-4-2 formation structure with Everton under Sam He can florish. He needs to play in a 2 up top next to a bigger hold up striker to get the best out of him I think. Wenger has just not fancied a rigid 2 up top like this for a long time so Walcott as struggled to fit in and has been forced wide to make room for others. Overall I think a good deal for all parties.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 15:26:09
Only thing I can say in Wengers defence is he likes versitile players which Theo isn’t unfortunately Wenger isn’t either and needs to go we are sinking fast and no other team in the world would put up with this why are we different I would take a refund on my season ticket now if could 👎.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 15:26:09
If he goes I would like to thank him for his time at the club. Not as bad a player a some made out. Went stale at the end and it’s a good move for all party’s I think.

Agree2 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 15:29:44
Ed 025 if you get the real theo Walcott, you have some player. Wenger never quite found it.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i hope your right steve, i fear for arsenal now though losing 4 players who i thought were good to great players mate, massive job for whoever comes in to replace arsene next season....i must have done something really bad in a previous life the way my 2 favourite teams are performing mate..

16 Jan 2018 17:13:34
Ed025 why do you keep saying arsene will go in the summer. You heard something or just being a tease haha. On the topic I personally think this move should've come years ago for theo.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 18:29:21
Ed 25 if you have someone to feed the turk and walcott, they have real potential. The big guy looks a beast.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i hope your right steve, the thing is that booting the bloody ball up field as hard as you can seems our strategy at the moment mate..

16 Jan 2018 19:15:20
is Wenger definitely gone end of the season then ed don't tease us.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - it looks that way stephen he is not expected to stay after this summer mate, of course nothing is certain in football but all the indications are that he will leave..

16 Jan 2018 19:24:02
he has a better man manager now that's for sure and could finally learn the offside rule at age 28.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 19:22:04
I know you are hiding your excitement ed. Lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im good at that steve.. :)

16 Jan 2018 13:40:40
Wether or not aubamayangadowrong is coming or not I find it strange. Surely we are not going to play two up top and I doubt either would like it out wide with only aubameyang really able to play there. I would have took him over laca. Despite the lack of goals I have been more impressed with laca than I thought. Unless this is a more cut throat Arsenal who are now moving to new options because the laca option has not paid off. For me if ozil moves I would prefer fekir. Malcom for Walcott looks a good start and Lemar for sanchez lols good. The elephant in the room is xhaka . Time to cut loose no where near good enogh. The man to get really is goretzka .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

16 Jan 2018 14:46:56
Sano auba can play anywhere across the front three.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 15:12:33
Reading into it, are arsenal thinking sanchez ozil are gone, Auba and miki are their replacements. With malcom replacing walcot. That will all take some doing and maybe then seeing where we are in the summer as regards the rest of the team, including wenger. It seems to me this is all not very wenger like, is he finally being made to do as the club wants instead of what he wants?

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 17:25:52
Maybe he can steve. Will he get 30 goals from there? I would prefer more creative players there. But I’m not to look a gift horse in the mouth. Mhki of United I wanted before united and I’m not sure about now either.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 17:40:55
Lets hope so Steve. I do have a good feeling about these new guys coming in. Ed002 is very complimentary about them both, so perhaps there is light at the end of the (albeit still very long) tunnel?

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 18:34:03
We now have a link at the club with miki and auba and it looks like it just needs some commitment from us to force it to happen. I don't like giving maureen scrapings from my shreddies let alone sanchez but those two make up for it in spades.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 10:37:24
Somehow, if we manage to pull off all 3 deals for Malcom, Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang that would sit nicely with me! I don't see all 3 happening to be honest, i reckon at most 1 of the deals will be completed. Aubameyang is a man who wants out just like Sanchez so maybe his attitude will calm at a new club? Who knows. A risk worth taking to get 2 or 3 seasons out of him when he's playing so well for Dortmund! let's hope we can seal this in January and focus defensively in the summer with a new GK also! #AFC :)

Believable1 Unbelievable0

16 Jan 2018 11:22:40
I like the idea of malcom giving us a bit of much needed width, but not sure about the others, as surely they all need to play through the same middle part of the pitch which is already occupied by any of Ramsey, Wilshire, Ozil, Xhaka, Iwobi, El neny, Lacca etc. We are already so narrow when attacking, so i don't see the point in signing more players who need to play through the same middle ground, unless of course you like seeing our entire attacking force occupying the same square foot of turf.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 12:36:14
Occupied with inconsistent players that aren't good enough. Plus if Ozil leaves then Mkhitaryan is an ideal replacment in the number 10 role! Aubameyang can play out wide and has done before so wouldn't be that bad for him and with Sanchez leaving then he would fit right in again. Wenger has a habit of playing people out of their preferred positions so we shall see how it pans out!

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 13:17:33
The whole playing players out of their position is the main concern for me Glenn. Its like playing a front 3 with Welbeck playing as the left winger, it just doesn't work. I suppose the questions are that do you think if the Aubaloobabingbong rumour is true, he would want/ should play through the middle as the main striker, or would he be happy playing on the left? Where does he mostly play for Dortmund? Could he play alongside Lacca as a second striker, or if we do sign him as Sanchez's replacement for the left forward role, would we be better off going out and finding players who already play in that position more regularly, such as a Draxler or Lemar?

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 13:29:21
Exactly that. He plays through the middle for Dortmund but he has played in the wide position of a front 3 so i don't think it will be much of a problem for him! Its just how he would take it is the main thing. Minislat seems to think he's a the right man for the job so if he can convince him to sign then that would be good in my opinion. Playing 2 up top is something i also think would work which is something we haven't done since Bergkamp and Henry. However, that would leave us to a back 4 which we can't do yet with the defence we have! Miki in no.10, Front 3 of Aubameyang, Lacca and Malcom :)

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 14:29:48
And the kid wears a spiderman mask i mean come on! How awesome would that be wearing a spiderman mask in a red arsenal kit when he scores! haha!

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 15:09:34
Ha ha, that's true. Well let's hope if he comes we see a lot of that mask!

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 10:33:00
I think aubamyang will be great addition along with a proper wide player in Malcom. Keep ozil also. However that doesn’t really fix our problem as our defence need the fixing. Rugani as a CB would be great. As for a CDM is a must but as long as wenger in charge he will keep Xhaka. An upgrade on him would be awsowe. A lot to wish forbut hay ho. These changes will only make us more serious to win the EL and qualify to the CL.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

16 Jan 2018 11:27:09
Would love to see us try and sign Kongogbia for the CDM role, he is big and strong and having a fantastic season at Valencia. Sadly though, i believe their loan deal includes a right to buy, so they have first dibs on him. A poor mans second IMO, but second nonetheless, would be N'Zonzi, who has been fantastic in that role for Seville over the past few years. He didn't set the premiership alight last time he was here, and is pushing on a bit, but he obviously has improved in recent years, and he plays the exact role we need.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You seem to have forgotten Arsenal having zero interest in Kondogbia.}

16 Jan 2018 12:18:19
A man can dream Ed002.although to be fair, what a sad dream that is. with Kongdogbia appearing in it rather than Scarlett Johansson.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 10:23:59
Trying not to get excited but if we do pull off Aubameyang and Mikhitaryan (spelling) . Then Sanchez who?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

16 Jan 2018 06:48:54
Would like to see us sign the following players in this window:
Evans
Nzonzi
Patrick-Emerick Aubameyang
Would strengthen the core of the team.
I would also like to see Wilshere sign a contract.
I would sell Ozil, as he is inconsistent and is not worth the huge salary reportedly on offer.
In the summer bring in a keeper, another CB, cover at RB and another DM.

Believable1 Unbelievable6

16 Jan 2018 07:53:21
You stole my list! Add Malcom or another wide man and I am on board.

Agree3 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 08:18:52
why sell ozil, he wants to stay, but the situation has made him leave.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 08:36:56
We should really be looking to keep Ozil, if nothing else, players like him and enjoy playing with him so might act as a draw to bring good players in to play alongside him.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 09:15:09
TBH Ozil is as good as gone aswell he is just binding his time until the end of the season to get that huge sign on fee. We have to start a re-build now. Clear out the dross even if it means short term pain in using more youths like Nelson etc. for the time being until we can get the 1st team players in we need as it may take a few transfer windows to do this re-build. For now Malcolm, Patrick-Emerick Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan in the swap for Sanchez would be a good window for us if it happens as that is Sanchez, ozil and walcott if he goes covered for this month. We we urgently need better defensive midfielders and another CB and at some point a new 1st team keeper as chech not got long left at the top.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 10:47:55
The only signing that looks possibly is Evans R. G. as aubaneyang will want champions league football something your club cannot offer him for the foreseeable future.

Agree2 Disagree1

16 Jan 2018 12:35:07
Oh dear raver61 embarrassing yourself yet again. The toot are also sitting outside the top 4, so no signings for them either?
Have the toot ever won the PL? No!
Last league win - 1961, yes approaching 60 years ago!
Last FA Cup win - 1991, approaching 30 years ago!
Last League Cup win - 2008, a decade ago!
The pain of being a toot just goes on.1961, yes 1961!

Agree0 Disagree1

16 Jan 2018 13:13:17
Evans and nzonzi are not good enough.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 15:21:11
Wesley, if ozil wants to stay why are we trying to sign miki and why is talking to foreign clubs and not signing.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 15:29:42
R. G. The facts are we will be top 4 come may and we don't need signing's as we are not in crisis like Arsenal. Who's going to replace Hugo boss or the class Belgium centre backs or Ali and eriksen and who's going to replace the best finisher in world football lol. I did laugh at the Arsenal supporter at the end of the Bournemouth match nearly crying shouting rubbish on the tv, Arsenals' last league title 15 years, league cup 31 years and you have never seen your club win a European major mind the gap deluded one.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 15:33:53
Sorry is he.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 06:44:13
The changes behind the scenes at Arsenal are pleasing, but most of all Wenger needs to go. His training methods are constantly criticised, his tactics are suspect, his desire to play players out of their natural positions, his inability to get the most out of players on a consistent basis, etc. The puzzling thing about Wenger is that he has managed to win 3 FA Cups and 3 Community Shields and finish in the top four 3 times over the last 4 seasons.
The club still have the nucleous of a decent team, but urgently need to sign 6 or so players over this window and the summer window. There are also players that need to be moved on urgently: Ospina, Debuchy, Mertesacker (retiring) , Jenkinson, Chambers, Walcott, Campbell, Perez and Akpom. I would also look at replacing Cech and Monreal at a later date.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

16 Jan 2018 09:22:39
Agree that is the most important thing that needs to happen at the end of season is Wenger leaving. My fear is that even if he does finish at the end of season he will simply move up into the board/ director level and still be pulling all the strings behind the scenes and still have too much influence over team affairs with a puppet new manager (E. G Arteta) in place. The baord have not got the ballS to say enough is enough with Wenger that is the problem. We need fresh new start totally with a whole new management/ coaching team.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2018 10:48:50
Community shields lol you might go one better this season R. G. and win the carabao cup.

Agree0 Disagree1

16 Jan 2018 12:31:44
Oh dear raver61 embarrassing yourself yet again - I have heard it all now, being preached to about winning trophies by a toot fan that won't even tell us how few trophies the toot have won during his lifetime.
