Happy if we sign - Mousa Dembele and Virgil Van Dijk plus Cavarlho / Matuidi even if Sanchez goes but would rather swop Dembele for Theo. .

That would be a very strong spine

Cech - Van Dijk & Kos, Cavarlho / Matuidi and Lacazette

We haven't had that for a while - get it done Wenger ✅ 🏆 👍

van dijk would be a huge statement. carvalho over matuidi now for me but can't see it happening.

Just hired a car to drive Theo up to Everton for 30m.

Let's clear down our strike force and start again with Giroud and Lacazette as the players to beat. got to keep Giroud.

Sanchez and Lacazette as a front two

Giroud Lacazette as an alternative

Sanchez Lacazette and Ozil front 3

Now we need suitable replacements & back up especially if Sanchez goes

I will personally celebrate the day Giroud leaves. Has no business at Arsenal, never has. For me he epitomizes our failings over the past few seasons

No offence intended.

70 goals in 160 games. Has played upfront on his own pretty much since he joined, never complains when he's dropped, pretty much scores every time he comes on, leads the line well, good touch for a big guy, full French International, 23 goals in 50 games.
I'm not saying he's great, but bit harsh mate.

Agree4 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i would love him at everton dags..but you can keep that headless chicken walcott mate..

Ed025,
I know Theo has never reached his potential, but despite the stick, I think he had a decent season, scoring 21 goals.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im not a big fan dags, drifts in and out of games for me and flatters to deceive mate..

16 Jul 2017 22:16:00
Watching Giroud is like watching paint dry.

Agree0 Disagree5

{Ed025's Note - i want a tin of that paint steve.. :)

16 Jul 2017 22:06:16
Personally rue I don't think giroud is a bad forward At all. Needed to be upgraded for sure but I don't think he's crap like you're making it sound. He is frustrating tho. Scores some goals he had no right too. But misses some he should be scoring. For the fee we paid and the performances I'll be sad when he goes as there's a few who shouldn't be anywhere near our squad. But I can see the frustrations with him.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2017 22:35:43
Olly is in my opinion and always has been and asset and a credit to Arsenal football club, just not a line striker capable of storing enough premier league goals to secure a title challenge, but top 4 and cups he's proven time and time again.
Theo? Best season ever last season but still only a squad player as a striker but as a winger he's strictly Europa league qualification limited material at best.

if everton offer 30million for theo they must be on drugs.

{Ed025's Note - i agree derby..

17 Jul 2017 07:24:36
Maybe else where Theo would come good who knows, 15 million and parting company would be good for both player and Club imo.
Theo Jack Is Aaron if they all left it would be good for them and us.
They would suddenly be like every other player, picked on performance and Arsene would freed from his determination to prove himself right about them all.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2017 11:37:21
Walcott looks like a lost school boy most of the time to me. Granted he's a good finisher, but pretty much contributes nothing to the team. Touch isn't great, passing hit and miss. It often looks like we're playing with 10 men when he starts.

Shame really, but he's now at the age where he should be delivering, the 'promising prospect ' ship has sailed for me.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Jul 2017 12:19:00
That's actually a fair summary Scar, I feel the same about Iwobi 19/ 20 times he plays, it's like we're playing with 10 men as to me apart from the very odd game he looks well out of his current depth in the premier league, a loan abroad or to a championship club might be good for him.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Jul 2017 14:03:38
Scar, you summed up Theo perfectly. If people can they should watch the Arsenal versus Sutton FA cup game which i think also summed him up. He scored the 2nd goal, which completely covered up a performance that at best was invisible, and at worst diabolical. Technically he was the worst player on the pitch, including the Sutton players. Passing and control was very poor, and he just didn't contribute apart from the tap in. He scored some good goals last year, and it sounds really strange to say, but the goals cover up his major deficiencies, in that he doesn't contribute enough for a player in his position. Sadly for him, he normally plays in the right side equivalent position to Sanchez on the left, which just magnifies how ineffectual he is in comparison. In a different team, who ask him to play on the last shoulder, looking to slip the ball in behind for him to nip onto, would play to his strengths as he can finish and he is still fairly quick. Perhaps its time for him to find this team, but sadly, that's not Arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2017 19:27:49
if Sanchez's dream is to win the cl why would he want to join man city, not great in Europe themselves and have struggle for top four in the prem the last two season's.

Only leaves Chelsea in EPL really

Might as well stick with us and see who we sign.

Agree1 Disagree1

16 Jul 2017 19:40:55
If it's the champions league winners medal he's after then are Real are first choice boys to join if they want him, unlikely.
2nd choice Barcelona but again not a likely option.
3rd has to be Bayern Munich who apparently have shown interest, so an option but how likely I'm not sure.
4th has to be Utd proven champions league winning quality in both club and management.
5th Chelsea or Athletico or juventus I guess
City best of the rest group like psg.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2017 21:36:34
you never know who will win it I guess. sooner or later i'm sure city will be up there in the later stages. its a competitive competition.

I'm just wondering, if we do end up selling Alexis and if we do really want to keep the Ox, why not give him a chance in the starting line up in Alexis' place? I think it would be the ideal position for him. If he is deemed not good enough to be a starter we should get rid. Simple as that. But don't sign a replacement and keep Ox yet again as a bench warmer and utility player so that he can leave for free at the end of the season.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

16 Jul 2017 18:58:51
100% agree with start or part with the Ox philosophy.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jul 2017 19:44:57
Start Ox - yes but not in Sanchez's position. Doesn't have the touch etc to play that role plus would be useless as an attacking left forward

RWB or CM for the Ox or sell him.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2017 20:18:31
Belerin will be rwb, we aren't going to reject Barcelona millions for a player we see as a squad player and he ain't prepared to resist Barcelona fur the Arsenal bench.
We will play 3 4 3 as our main formation so it's Caz position or Liverpool for Ox be it this summer for 25 million or next summer for nothing, it's our choice for now.

I agree with you #WillyC, if Sanchez wants to leave let him leave. We can't let him destabilize the team all in the name of trying keep a "winner" in the team. He is very much replaceable. Am tired of his antics of trying to force his way out of the club.

Wenger buys kolasinac for lwb and lacazette for cf but plays them out of position for ALL the duration of the 2 first pre season games. Kola lcb and laca lwf.
1 question why? Neither looked 100% comfortable tbg. especially in the second game!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

16 Jul 2017 15:32:58
I was pleased to see Elney played as sweeper in a back 3, I think he has real potential in in that position to offer the same option Luiz offers Chelsea.
He could be the accidental sweeper like Le Coq became our accidental DM, certainly worth continuing to look at pre season imo.

I don't disagreeing with your last line Malaga mate but there is nothing wrong with us hoping he proves us wrong.
For me personally do I think Arsene has another title in him? No I just don't think he has the mentality for that anymore.
Personally I don't expect any king of title challenge over the next couple of years but rather that moan about that anymore I'm going to consecrate on what we can do rather that what we can't for the next couple of seasons.
The Europa league and another cup or maybe even a top 4 finish are realistic possibiliteis so that's where my mind set is at now, anything more than that would be an extremely unexpected but very pleasant surprise.

16 Jul 2017 20:00:45
Hey G62 mate, I have been noticing for a while now that you've such a downer with your expectations and your feeling about the team, you are almost turning into a malaga ;) , mate with all do respect, I respect your opinion but give it a rest for a bit and wait for transfer window to shut and the season to start and than we have all season and maybe to 2 to moan about.
I know arsene's two years contract extension didn't go down too well with too many of our fans but keeping going on about it will only depress us.
My mates they enjoy giving me a stick every time we loss or flop, but hey ho this is my team and I will always believe that next year is our year, you might call me deluded or blind but personally I prefer to have high expectation than feel down and look down on my beloved team.

Hi Moe this is me trying to be positive about a decision I totally accept but ultimately think was wrong.
I'm happy to be wrong mate but I'm not going to say what I don't think just to be popular, sorry.
It's my opinion and I'm more than happy for you to think differently and share why you feel that way, you never know you might make me see your point mate :-)
I'm open to reasonable argument just not investing in a pair of those special Arsenal glasses :-)

16 Jul 2017 12:57:30
What's this I am reading about Sanchez? I read he has said he wants to leave to win CL since it has been his dream and desire and that he is awaiting the club's response concerning his wish to leave. I know he is ambitious and I don't want to go on about it but look, if the guy wants to leave let him, it's not as if he'll play the club forever.

Don't know why we are scared of losing good players. This isn't the first time we have lost a great player, we have been in weaker positions yet we survived. If he doesn't want to stay with us in the bad times, just sell him on. What's the point of keeping someone who has his heart set somewhere else? Bring in quality players who would play for this great club all day.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

16 Jul 2017 13:21:57
I know we have lost players before but we can't afford to do it this summer and I think it is more beneficial to keep him.

Agree2 Disagree0

16 Jul 2017 15:17:36
If he will commit to a new contract then I'd definitely rather he stayed but I wouldn't be pleased if we forced him to see out his current contract as this would be an own goal by us imo.
My first choice would be give him the 400/ 000 a week if that's what it takes to get him to commit his future to us but if it's not about money and he just wants out fof other reasons
My second choice would be welcome bids from anyone and everyone and get as much money for him as as you can towards the best possible replacement we can attract.
For me the worse case scenario would be merely delaying the problem for a season giving Alexis 100% say and Arsenal football club 0%, that can't be good business surely especially if he decided he liked where he lived but not where he played and joined Spurs :-)
It could happen next summer and we would be powerless to stop it.

16 Jul 2017 10:34:27
Sanchez does not want to be there so we should try and replace him before we let him go, make a big play for aubamyang and either lemar or mahrez that would be a great replacement pair.
Imagine bamayang lacazette upfront with the likes of ozil mahrez or lemar behind them, deadly!

Believable3 Unbelievable0

16 Jul 2017 11:08:50
I agree we should stop being reactivate and start being much more proactive.
A big part of our not being competitive has been our failure to get on top of situations on and off the pitch asap and before we knew it those situations have brought about own downfall so many times in so many ways.
Last season even when we were doing OK teams like Middlesbrough and Swansea were creating chances against us for fun even at the Emirates and only thier poor finishing masked things for those who didn't want to see them, if we had at accepted and addressed them by going to 3 at the back last October how different might our season have been?
It's not a case of pointing fingers just learning from and not repeating mistakes as we seem to continue to do endlessly.
We need to stop addressing last seasons and the seasons before that's problems and start avoiding next seasons problems before they get here.

I'm not an Arsenal fan, but I'm curious as towards what Arsenal fans think of the Mbappe situation? Wenger's most recent comments all but confirm that Arsenal won't sign him, no?

Alexis Sanchez thoughts too?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

16 Jul 2017 10:33:43
Personally, I think if he joins it's only to use us as a stepping stone to Real or Barcelona and I'm not sure how comfortable I am with that. I don't think he'll go anywhere this season, but it's quite likely he'll end up replacing Benzema in a year or two.

Alexis, at this stage I don't care if he stays or goes as long as it's not to City and we adequately replace him. I think the chances of that are slim so we might as well retain him for another season and risk leaving on a free because getting back in the CL immediately recoups his transfer fee.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2017 10:38:09
To be honest fella I'm curious as to why your first ever post on any of these pages is directed towards Arsenal fans.

Surely you should be discussing your up coming quadruple of league, UCL, FA and league cup victories along with Lukaku's golden boot and Pogba's Balon d'or. No?

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2017 10:48:05
Mbappe was always a very long shot and we were not wrong to try but always likely to be unsuccessful so no one should be to disappointed, as for Sanchez Arsene says he thinks he will stay but to be fair Arsene thought that about RVP And Fab too and also Theo and Rosicky, sometimes his confidence is well placed and other times its way off the pace.
My own view is if he was staying it would be sorted by now but maybe he will be happy to see out his contract leaving him 100% free to join whoever he wants next summer City Utd Chelsea even Spurs if he chose to :-)
We will be 100% powerless next summer to stop him doing anything he wants and get no compensation towards a replacement either.
Personally I'd make him available right now at the right price to the highest bidder and see who offers what so they we at least have some sort of control over events.
