Most of us agree we need at least 3 defensive players in the summer. So who would you like us to buy? I want leno, vestergaard and kondogbia.

I think that we need 4, possibly 5 depending on departures as Bellerin is rumoured to be for sale and Mustafi tried to leave last season. definitely need a Goalkeeper, RB, CB and CDM.

So in a semi-relaistic wishlist. i'm going to go for.

GK - Leno from Leverkusen
RB - Cedric Soares from Southampton
CB - Howedes from Schalke (was their captain I believe need a leader at the back, he's experienced in CL and International level, may be available as just spent season on loan at Juventus hardly played there. )
CDM - Nzonzi from Sevilla

Would also take Butland, Gimenez, Koulibaly, De Vrij, David Luiz, Fabinho and/ or Seri (Nice)

GK - Butland
RB - Soares
CB - Varane
CB - Koulibaly
DM - Lamina
DM - Doucoure'
M - Modric and Lanzini
W - Malcolm

Sell/ release:
GK: Ospina
RB: Bellerin and Jenkinson
CB: Chambers and Mertesacker
DM: Elneny
M: Iwobi, Cazorla and Campbell
F: Perez and Akpom

Renew contracts of Welbeck, Wilshere and Ramsey

We need thiis type of major surgery to the squad, which is highly unlikely to happen.
I believe we will only buy 2 or 3 players if Wenger stays. These will be a midfield player, a wide attacking player or two.

We will sell Bellerin and replace him with Maitland-Niles in order to fund signings.

The base of the squad, if Wenger stays will be:
GK: Cech and Ospina. - Possibly Martinez will return, if Ospina departs.
FB: Maitland-Niles, Kolasinac and Monreal - May use Chambers as cover for Maitland-Niles.
CB: Mustafi, Holding, Koscielny, Chambers and Mavropanos.
DM: Elneny and Xhaka
M: Ozil, Mkhitaryan, Iwobi.
A: Aubameyang and Lacazette

Possibles depending upon contracts: Ramsey, Welbeck and Wilshere.

He's fighting for his job despite bing 2nd in the league and could possibly pick up 3 cups in his 1st 2 seasons in charge, if his brand of football and just as importantly his character was the same as when he first arrived in England he'd be sitting pretty after After David Moyse and Lvg.
Unattractive style of football and unpleasant way of conducting himself has made him a very unpopular figure through out football.
In a week where Arsene has started to talk sense again for the first time in years Jose seems to be heading in the opposite direction faster than ever now, it's a funny old game.

Jeez, just heard it, could he be anymore of a dufus. Thankfully he said the board and owners are right behind him.

He never said he would be leaving Pogba and Sanchez behind when he left, are they off already.

Does he really have no idea what United stood for under Ferguson.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

16 Mar 2018 14:24:59
We didn't want Madrid and Russia is a bit of a long haul for us! Where did we want? Two weeks in Bognor Regis followed by a Danny friendly Ref in the return leg at the Emirates :-)
Only kidding Stephen mate, it will be tough over there but there is very few easy ties in European quater finals but equally apart from Athletico no teams that we shouldn't class ourselves as having an excellent chance of overcoming either.
Even Athletico are not unbeatable but the fact their sitting second to only Barcelona and well ahead of Real in the Spanish league plus have been champions league runners up twice in recent seasons must make them very hot favourites for this competition.

I'm mostly worried about how our fans get treated, with everything going on, I can't imagine the sentiment towards bits is very cheerful over there! But hopefully there's a big police presence to prevent anything nasty, it wouldn't look good for them just before the world cup if there fans go on a rampage! But then we might have to worry about the police too!

I'm not sure the Russian government cares what anyone thinks of them Eden mate, don't go there it's just not worth it for Arsenal or England fans.
Hopefully the club will be proactive given the circumstances and help set up a fan park here in the UK so people can still get together on mass for the atmosphere if they want but without putting themselves in unnecessary danger.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Mar 2018 18:33:53
Eden it’s no different now than it would have been a year ago in Russia. This is just the latest in a long line of similar going ons. If fans go there and don’t want trouble then I imagine they won’t find any! Would we be as worried in the USA whose government do equally dodgy things? I have not followed the story as it all appears like more of the same old propaganda to me. Is it 100% proven it was the Russians. I’m sure that the Russian authorities will put on a safe evening for the Travaling arsenal fans. If fans stay in the areas and Turn up prompltley watch the game and stay in designated areas the it will be fine.

Same applies as to the World cup simply don't go.

Did you see that clip of him curling that right foot shot from about 20yds into the top corner in training for Madrid, so it’s definitely not a swinger.

Rumours are Chelsea willing to pay £119 million. Have to think City would be interested too.

I’m just surprised Madrid would let him go with a contract until 2023.

Excellent result last night and it was good to see Welbeck score two and his confidence returning. With Aubameyang and possibly Lacazette as well, it will be interesting to see who starts in the central attacking role against Stoke. I prefer Welbeck played centrally opposed to wide left, but as neither Aubameyang nor Lacazette seem to play wide, I can only foresee Aubameyang playing centrally, Welbeck wide left and Lacazette on the bench.
I was also surprised to hear Wenger bigging up Athletico, so now if we draw them today we start from a position of fear.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

16 Mar 2018 07:45:40
I thought it was good to hear Arsene be truthful about Danny's dive and Athletico being the team to avoid.
Were Wigan wrong to accept that City were the team to beat in the fa cup?
Should Wigan have come out with a load of rubbish before playing City about how the two teams were neck and neck in ability?
No one wants to hear Arsene embaress himself and Arsenal by coming out with more tosh that gets the whole football world laughing at Arsene and Arsenal again.
Accepting that Madrid are the team to beat is a true assessment of the situation not a surrender.
Keep up the reality Arsene it really does make you sound more in touch with the modern game.

Agree0 Disagree1

16 Mar 2018 09:44:33
Thank you Nes that's brilliant news. It's really good to see how a blatant piece of cheating by one of our players can make such headlines yet when a Spurs player does the same it hardly gets a mention.
I guess it's what gets people's attention.
An Arsenal player diving is big news a bit like reporting on a total eclipse
While when a Spurs player dives it's like having a headline that reads
IT WILL GET DARK TONIGHT :-)

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Mar 2018 09:59:06
Let's get this straight! Every right minded football fan is embarrassed when their player dives and hates diving in general. Let's hope Danny gets a bollocking and told not to do again something Poch doesn't do because it leads to your SERIAL divers.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Mar 2018 10:27:35
Agree Sussex mate I'd rather see every dive by every player receive a 5 match ban retrospectively by the FA fifa and uafa but until that happens diving will be part of the game, Pires did it Klinsmann did it Rooney did it and the next generation of players will do it too until those that run the game decide they no longer want it in the game.
Actually it might be good if every game between now and next season including all world cup games were won by players conning refs into false decisions, something might actually change then.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Mar 2018 10:36:39
Unrealistically it's seems I hold onto the phrase cheats never prosper but evidently they do. Would have no problem with banning players retrospectively for five games first offence then increasing. It would soon stop it's a no brainer! We all know the serial divers Dele Ali, Vardy, Dele Ali, Moses, Dele Ali, Kane, Dele Ali COYG.

16 Mar 2018 10:58:17
I wonder if fans would be so critical if Danny pulled the same trick that won the final in a tight game. Easy to take the moral high ground in a game that we were in total control of. Not condoning it for a second but fans are fickle.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Mar 2018 11:01:33
now 62 it appears you have that took back 😉

Well said Sussex. totally agree.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Mar 2018 11:13:39
Most managers and fans don't mind a bit of diving as long as it's their players doing it, in that situation they call it part of the game but when it's the other way round these same people who call it part of the game suddenly get all moral and want diving stopped :-)
Consistency is what's needed but not from refs but from managers fans players alike, either accept it always or never not as and when it suits.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Mar 2018 11:31:06
Thanks NES I assume you are talking about the squid clean bit! AWWW! ;) Sano totally agree but for me I have a gnawing feeling about Owens dive v Argentina and Poch but have a maybe irrational dislike of Rooney who dived to prevent 50 unbeaten! I just prefer to win without cheating if nothing else to prevent the Scots Germans et al mentioning 1966 constantly. We either eradicate it or it's part of football . Me fickle to a point but in the eradicate camp #DIVINGOUT 😂 COYG.
