January ozil, Sanchez and debuchy leave per retires in the summer we will need a lot of replacements along with the manager silva looks like a good candidate he beat us with olympiacos and now Watford done a decent job at Hull are football has become predictable and boring not like it used to be I think it will take 3 years to be at the same level as city!

If we interviewed all the young managers that have rubbed our noses in it, it would be quite a queue.

Wenger will be here another season after this.

No point even talking about other managers.

Exactly dags he will be here at least one more year. And tbh I’m not sure I have confidence in us picking someone good after. I’d love someone young with fresh modern ideas.

I agree Dags, we would have to finish with a trophy league cup fa cup or Europa league trophy and a long way behind 4th place club before Arsene's future became a serious topic of discussion.
5th to 8th with a trophy would be more than enough for Arsene to see out his final season as manager.
As for this season even if we were out of Europe and both demestic cups and 15 points behind 4th place by February there is absolutely way Arsene would be sacked or resign mid season, so this season is an absolutely no chance situation and next season highly unlikely one that we will have a different manager.
As for Silva I like him and he has done well so far but let's talk about him again in May Because over the years I've seen the likes of Martinez Moyes and lots more who have been doing well at the time suggested as Arsenes replacement only for Arsene to still be incharge long after the largest hot property manager has been sacked.
Don't get me wrong I'd take Silva or many other options right now but my point is the season is still young and by February March Watford could as easily be in a relegation battle as Europa league one.

For years Wenger spun us the story of not having any money but still qualifying for Champions League was a fantastic achievement and only the clubs who spent big money won the prem until Leicester City blew that theory out of the water by not having the greatest squad skill wise but more than made up for it by their excellent work rate and enthusiasm . The last 4 years we have spent big money although 3 Fa Cups in 4 yrs is a great achievement we are further away from winning the prem than we ever where. I take on board that you do need the rub of the green (Lacazette disallowed goal against Stoke and Watfords penalty) even though in Saturdays game i still think Watford would have won but in terms of the Premiership we are a million miles away and the blame lays fairly square on Arsenes head due to his obvious shortcomings and a e----g ego the size of Everest. Kroenke gave him big money Wenger spent it and in terms of the 2 big trophies we are well short and its time Arsene was made accountable for it.

Its been said before but this club is rotten to the core and needed a total restoration to get the true potential out of it. This summer was the chance wasted. The desire to be the best on the football field has been eroded by the way the club and team are set up. Gone are the glory days.

This is what I cannot get my head around, someone is responsible for keeping Wenger in a job and it’s not Wenger.

Sheikh Mansour or Roman Abramovich would not still be employing someone who failed to deliver the League title, or even challenge for it come to that.

Abramovich got rid of Mourinho, the very “Special One” mid season because he had lost the dressing room and was failing.

Why is Kroenke continuing to employ Wenger when it’s clear to every man and his dog he can no longer cut it.

Kroenke has no will to win nor need to win when 4th place suits his financial needs. As a club I’ll be amazed if we achieve anything whilst that bloke owns the club.

I don't know why Stan continues to back Arsene regardless of results but my guess is he fears a backlash from the fans, before winning the fa cup Arsenes future didn't look anything like as secure as it has been with the club stating it would not be Arsenes chioce solely Wether he stayed or went plus there seem some real will from within the club for change too.
But with the cup win came a surge of fans support falling 100% behind Arsene once more and I think the board and Stan had absolutely no stomach for confrontation with the fans over Arsene leaving.
To me they seem unwilling to upset the majority of fans and make a decision based on the clubs results apposed to its attendances which remain very high under Arsenes management.

You are joking 62, please tell me you are, a huge amount of fans wanted Wenger to leave on a high of winning the FA Cup. I was literally praying he would call it a day, every other gunner I know was thinking the same.

And can you imagine the uproar letting Wenger go and bringing Allegri in, I would have gone mental, a current manager who knows how to win, a whole new mentality, Christ I think the Emirates would have been burnt to the ground. 😉.

Wenger is doing just fine in kronks eyes. And gunner 100% fan support? I think that's a tad out mate, nearer 10% than 100%. Kronk took and takes no notice of fans anyway, he alone wanted wenger.

For those mocking my suggestion that Marco Silva replace Wenger, we were beaten by a Watford team that were well set out, tactically spot on and full of commitment and passion, many things that we lack. Perhaps we should move Wenger on sooner rather than later and install Silva as manager. I for one want a manger on the touchline organising the team and showing passion.

I think the fact that not one person has mentioned the penalty that clearly wasn't says so much about the performance and fans declining interest in the current Arsenal set up.
Years gone by people would have been passionately protesting at the Refs mistake but the fact is not one person seems to think it was the refs mistake that cost us the game says so much.
Football is a passionate sport that relys on passionate fans to prosper, the lack of passion from the team on the pitch and Arsene on the touchline is becoming contagious and although it has affected a few fans each season who have drifted away possibly never to return each of the last 4 or 5 seasons unless something happens soon to stop this lack of passion in its tracks i think we will see more and more fans drifting away from the club.
2 more seasons without ambition and passion from the board manager and players might prove more costly than Arsene or the board had thought possible.
The club needs to reignite the fans passion sooner rather than later because sooner rather than later the slow drift away from the club is going to turn into a stampede.

Gunner, i honestly think this club is now so far detatched from the elite club it was close too, that the damage is that much, in two years time we will be in ruins, compared to 15 years ago. Our manager is detatched from reality and our owner is not bothered about winning at all. I watch us now i am bored and i don't get excited or upset because the set up has taken the passion for this team away. My arsenal has gone.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Oct 2017 11:50:05
I think that is it Steve no one gets to excited or to disappointmented by Arsene and the team any more.
I don't think being a fan of the club ever really goes away but it's the interest you take in it and how big a part of your life it is on a day to day basis.
Interest is deminishing in Arsene Stan this team and squad and it's all down to lack of ambition to even try and compete with the best anymore, and that comes from Stan Arsene and all the players who are happy to sign new contracts Because no one absolutely no one think Arsenal are in the market for titles anymore, players stay through lack of options or life style be it London or day to day life at Arsenal.
Sanchez as with others before will go elsewhere to compete while others like Lacazette will use the club as a stepping stone to competitiveness if things go well for them personally and if not will see their careers out with Arsenal if they can.
While absolutely no one thinks the club is interested in titles the club will slowly but surely continue to decline in status and eventually value too.
The club from top to bottom are playing a, very short sighted game.

Nice to see you showed your face R. G. after another shambles defeat puts you more points behind spurs and you have the cheek to say spurs are in pain lol. I've got my suitcase packed for Madrid tonight and its full of white dust and condoms heading for Luton airport.

Nothing for winning against Bournemouth, R. G. you finished 22 points behind us last season and it will be that sort of points you will finish behind us again this season as you are bang average. I said in August we are the real only threat to the Manchester clubs this season and I'm looking right at the moment.

Raver61 - 2016-17 Arsenal 2 trophies, the FA Cup and Community Shield and before anyone knocks the CS, a team has to win the league or the FA cup to stand a chance of winning it. Toot, yet again zero trophies. 1961, yes 1961.

The facts are R. G. we are closer to winning the league and the European cup way before you at the moment. Just look at your squad compared to ours, next year our stadium will be the biggest and best ground in London with the youngest champions league squad. I'm really looking forward to watching spurs play real Madrid tonight while your bang average squad take on red star on Thursday night lol.
