Use our rumours form to send us arsenal transfer rumours.

17 Apr 2016 22:37:31
Well, that was yet again another typical Arsenal performance.

We huff, we puff, but never blow any houses down.

We use to get praised for our 'attractive' football, but we don't even play that anymore.

Plenty of possession and passing but, as usual, minimal penetration.

We play far too much tiki taka, but nobody wants to have a shot at goal.

Sanchez was a breath of fresh air last season, our only player who was prepared to shoot on sight, but we have taken the 'Barca' out of him and alas, he now plays the Arsenal way.

We have pace (Welbeck/ Iwobi) , we have power (Coquelin/ Elneny) , but we have no out and out striker, like Kane or Aguero, who will 'selfishly' stick the ball in the bloody net.

Like I posted yesterday, players like Subotic, Mkhitaryan, Xhaka, Hummels, Griezman and Aubamayang will solve a lot of our problems but, Xhaka apart, we will not sign players of their calibre.

It's not the Arsenal way is it?

Enjoy the ride Dags. Lol great results today. 😜

Where's the fella wodbod these days? Has he been obliterated from your site?

I'm flying our flag high from Florence.

{Ed033's Note - i think wodbod took a holiday of his own.

It hasn't been and probably won't be but it needs to be for us to be all we can be.

Derby,
Reluctantly, I think Giroud and Walcott are not good enough.

Would happily (ish) sell both to help finance a move for Aubemayang.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed033's Note - yes NES, i don't think Wenger is leaving Arsenal this year.

17 Apr 2016 23:26:18
Going against the grain here, but I still think we should fully back Wenger until he 'hangs up his boots' at the end of next season.

{Ed033's Note - You've got some nerve saying that on here, dags :)

If Liverpool win the spursday night league who has had the better European season them or us with our annual champions league last 16 exit?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

17 Apr 2016 19:42:46
Obviously Liverpool gunner, they will be lifting another European major title something your club never does.

Agree1 Disagree1

17 Apr 2016 21:04:37
I make you right Raver mate and personally I don't think Arsenal dropping into the spursday night league would be that big a deal.
I know people will say we couldn't attract big player's if we're not in the champions league but we're not in the market for big player's anyway, Cach wanted to stay in London so would have come anyway as would Elneny and Benzema wasn't ever coming whatever so champions league or Spursday night league makes little difference to our transfer policy.
A season in the spursday night would probably do us a, lot more good than harm long term with the board missing those champions league millions it could be the thing that ups our ambition level at the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Apr 2016 21:18:24
You normally talk a lot of sense gunner the Europa league might not be the greatest competition to win in fact it needs cutting in half start it once the teams from the champs league are added but it is still a European trophy and if lfc go onto win it they could have beat 4 teams that was in the champs league surely you would rather win anything over nothing I bet no arsenal fan said in 94 winning this eufa cup winners cup was ok but it would have been better to get to the last 16 in the European champions cup.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Apr 2016 22:32:56
For us champions league participation seems to be the be all and all but Chelsea looked pretty happy winning the Spursday night trophy a few years back and Liverpool fans looked far from gutted on to still be involved i in Europe on Thursday night.
Wimbledon last 16 exit every year or French open champion?

Agree0 Disagree1

17 Apr 2016 22:53:19
Evening Gunner, what a surprise today when I landed in Pisa, enroute to Florence, you boys never ever fail to provide so much entertainment. Palace at home is a banker 3 points.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Apr 2016 00:15:25
Lfc fan and would love my club to be competing for titles and the ucl, but always think England does the Europa league a disservice.

it is Europeans football of a very high standard and even though isn't the main European cup still have to beat great teams to win (Napoli, Sevilla, athletico, Chelsea, Porto, Dortmund, etc) so how is it looked down on but beating hull and villa in a fa cup final is seen as glorious?

Secondly, was at anfield for Dortmund 2nd leg and don't care what club you are but that was magical. Probably the best game I've been to and even if we don't win it nights like that are what make me proud of my club! Have been to an fa cup and league cup final and was far more excited before kick off against Dortmund then either of those!

Finally, sad but English teams need to seriously looks at the top European clubs and re-evaluate themselves. May be the richest league but personally struggle to place an English team in the top 5 world teams and when you consider the money/ wages available says something. City could win it this year but guarantee you will be played off the park in every CL game the play in.

Vroom vroom, just the raver cruising through in his Subaru to tell you that spurs will fly the flag for north London this season. The title race will go to the Last day of the season where we will win it on goal difference. keep your heads up boys and don't let spurs get you down. Next stop for the Subaru is the off licence for more cider and rizlas beep beep beep.

Just a question to every one on this page, was this 1-1 result against Palace surprising to us, I don't think so, because when it was 1-0 till 70th minute we all knew this going to happen. And to Ed033, I know Wenger is good but we have enough of this good, we now want better or best. thanks a lot. Wenger Out.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed033's Note - Good luck to Arsenal fans on Arsenal becoming Better, or The Best.

17 Apr 2016 18:30:15
The problem is that bar United, city and Chelsea most other clubs fans would die for what we have! Just look at the other fans that come over here. You have the United fans Ctr, Rosie and badger etc that poke fun at us and know it's same old Arsenal then you get the spuds fans ne spur raver etc who can't believe how we are getting annoyed with wenger and believe we should enjoy the ride just like they are! Well we're not because the driver is pissed up.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Apr 2016 18:41:42
I know most of the teams would die for what we have, but we are not "that" most of the teams, we are supposed to be at the level of Man Utd, Chelsea, Man City. but we are not at that level for quite a number of years now.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Apr 2016 18:48:02
It just goundhog day for Arsenal again. We all now we only a few key top quality players away from be genuine contenders but we all Know Wenger will never get those players as he can't handle big name players with big ego's. He always wants to develop players and it always about future potential and never about the finished product. It's is thus always excuse for Wenger as he can't handle real expectation and pressure to win.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Apr 2016 18:53:12
Your right. we're no where near and we should be annoyed.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Apr 2016 19:08:47
The only club in Europe not to buy an outfield player last summer, our ambitions and our achiements are in tandem.
£200 million reasons it didn't have to be this way this time especially but because we've been told repeatedly season after season by our manager that top 4 is success its little wonder its where everyones expectancy level is at from players to fans.
We need someone to come in and shake the club out of this complacency and remind everyone that Arsenal football club is a very very big club that should have much more ambition than champions league qualification and last 16 exit as it's comfort zone.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Apr 2016 20:46:09
Gunner62.you are correct every one at arsenal are comfortable in there cukoo world . from top to bottom every one is happy apart from one or two players ( ozil, Sanchez) from what we have achieved in last few year. I hear a lot being said on this page that there is no one better then Arsene which baffels me, there are lots of manager who are better than Arsene in European leagues, it is also said that it can be worse than this so does this means we stick with him for his entire life in the fear of "oh it can be worse" . why can't be it better after him. There is a saying in Corporate world that employees are averse to changes as they are very comfortable with there daily routine with any chance they have to re-adjust themselves which a lot of them are not willing to do.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Apr 2016 21:29:43

Believable0 Unbelievable0

17 Apr 2016 18:15:59
Not confident the way we are at the moment, it really is up for grabs now. The players seemed to be on Holiday already today and need a kick up the arse.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Apr 2016 18:23:01
Nothing knew to us, this is happening for years, fighting for the 4th place trophy is the right of arsenal fc, we were born to fight for the 4th palace. I will be really happy if we miss on top 4 this year because we all know we are not going to win champions league we only participate and make up the numbers, so why don't play in Europa League and try to win it, atleast we will have a European trophy in god knows how many years.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Apr 2016 18:25:55
There's only one team out of the top 4 that can realistically finish there. Or there's three teams fighting for two top four positions. And I'm afraid to say that there isn't a finer team in the land than Arsenal at securing fourth so that's either 3rd or 5th for United because the 4th spot is ours lol.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Apr 2016 18:34:03
Lol Sanogo. i am 100% sure next year will be our year because we will have our talisman Yaya Sagono back in team missing goals from left right and center, you name it and he will miss it . lol.

West ham I feel deserve 4th. Had some harsh reds and there goal against us was never offside. They have been excellent.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Apr 2016 00:35:31
The thing with the premier league Derby is that where you finish is where you deserve! If West Ham don't finish 4th that's because they don't deserve it.

What started as a good season has turned out to be one of our worst for a long time. will really struggle for our 4th place trophy.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

17 Apr 2016 18:03:40
Typical Arsenal really all the possession and terrority but again barely testing the keeper atall. The players are just too conditioned to pass and pass and not prepared to take on the last man or shot. I don't think we actually practice shooting and heading in training and bet its always passing drills constantly. Yes we need a quality striker but most of all we need a change of philosophy as it's just not working with Wenger as we are not getting any reward for dominating the ball the way we do, tika taka just does not work in the EPL.

We need to freshen things up and that starts with a new Manager he just does not cut it anymore and has had his day. Our top 4 place is under real threat now and maybe that is what we need to push Wenger out.

68% passes in Palace half
44 touches in Palace box

And we end up with 6 shots on target.

17 Apr 2016 18:00:07
Absolutely awful. we have HUGE problems I don't care what anyone says there is clearly a lack of belief from the players. my god we are boring to watch, predictable, there is no edge of the seat stuff.

We look an average side that's for sure.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

17 Apr 2016 18:21:21
There is certianly a lack of responsibility and urgency in both boxes, players not prepared to shoot on a clear sight on goal and nobody prepared to get there head on it or block it and clear it from a defensive point of view. Is there a lack a belief? not sure it could be more over confidence that has turned into arrogance that we think we will score no matter what eventually we just have to keep passing and passing.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Apr 2016 19:10:51
I can't see how it is arrogance or over belief, our last 6 games at homes suggest different.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Apr 2016 17:57:21
It's actually funny now! You can imagine arsenes team talk at half time 'now come on guys remember that we should be challenging for forth guys don't let me down I want to start next season early'

It's a joke the teams he has put out and some of the players he has bought over the last ten years have been average. And wenger actually thinks it's just been bad luck that we haven't won F all . No mate it's you and you alone.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

17 Apr 2016 17:52:38

Good answer Ed033 to me it's quite simple this site is free to use and there's no obligation from any Ed or poster to participate, quite simply because the fans have become so divided on the manager the fun has stopped for now but once something happens for everyone to unite behind again things will go back to when this page was buzzing almost everyday.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed033's Note - Yes, and what might unite the fans could actually be that if Wenger does leave in 2017 and a new manager comes in, there is a possibility that Premier League 4th spot may not happen and all the Arsenal fans may be in agreement that the new manager must leave and everyone then might realise just how good Wenger really was as a manager.

17 Apr 2016 17:07:26
Good answer Ed033.

Is Slaven Bilic throwing his hat in the ring early to become our next manager?
He says he was close to signing Kante before Leicester got him, how very Arsene like to attach his name to a player after he comes from nowhere to become a star :-)
Arsenes list of players he nearly signed who went on to become top players includes Ranaldo and Ibrahimovic just for starters so Bilic has a way to go yet but he's made an impressive start with Kante :-)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

17 Apr 2016 03:02:03
We have recently been linked with many players, but Wenger has done his usual and stated that it will be difficult to sign players that will be an improvement on what we already have.
However, the following players may leave;
Certainties: Arteta, Debuchy, Flamini and Rosicky.
LIkely: Szczesny, Sanogo and Jenkinson (when fit) .
Unhappy players; Ospina, Gibbs, Oxlade and Walcott.

Looking at our squad, it is likely that Wenger will sign.
1) A back up keeper, if Ospina leaves.
2) A right back. Cover for Bellerin.
3) A left back, if Gibbs leaves.
4) One midfield player.

So one or two players for sure and the others only if there are departures. Looking at the current squad, we have 22ish players that should form part of the squad for next season, with expected departures, which leaves little room for signings, especially as Wenger has never had a full compliment of 25 over age players and likes to give younger players a chance. Not that we can rely upon keeping players fit, but we already will have a problem when we have our full compliment as we have top first team players that won't even make the bench, which would prove extremely problematic.

We have many options in midfield, attacking midfield and attack, so signings in these positions look unlikely unless players depart.

We also have youngsters coming through, such as Iwobi, Akpom, Crowley, Zelalem, etc.

I would like to see Gnabry join the first team squad. He is a talented player, but sending him out on loan clearly didn't work. I also believe Chambers needs a season on loan, to play regularly at centre back, He seems to have gone backwards since we signed him and looks poor at RB. He is young and having seen the likes of Coquelin and Ramsey improve immensely as they matured, I would like to see how much he improves by playing regularly elsewhere,
