Just touched down in Shanghai. its well hot and humid.
Going to meet Arsene in the morning for lunch. Games on against Bayern tomorrow 19 th July it's Tuesday morning here just gone 2am.
Couldn't believe it he asked me if I fancied a Kebab for lunch tomorrow.
I said Arsene " This is China mate there ain't no Kebab houses out here "
He went " Errrr I don't like Chinese"
I said "that's ok mate because you look like you could do with losing a bit of weight".
Fussy sod .
I'm off to bed now good night.

Why haven't we gone for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang if Dortmund are willing to sell?

Because we have Lacazette imo.
We aren't going to play 3 4 1 2 to accommodate Mesut and 2 main strikers so it would seem strange to buy 2 high value strikers for one job.
Danny Theo and possibly Olly if he stays will cover Lacazette if injured/ rested/ suspended.
Any more big additions will be wing MF or CB positions us my guess.

Hoping for that format and don't see why we cannot have two main strikers up front - Giroud and Lacazette, Lacazette and Mbappe, Lacazette and Pierre, Lacazette and Aguero all work with me for.

17 Jul 2017 20:33:57
We have played with two before why not again.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2017 20:28:15
Or even better - Dembele and Lacazette up front.

2 up top Mesut in the whole, 3 at the back, good luck wing backs, your going to need it :-)

17 Jul 2017 23:19:10
just leave dembele where he is you'll have me crying lol.

17 Jul 2017 23:40:09
62 - isn't that why the formation works as we always have 3 back plus CDM

Would this expose us more than Sanchez, Wellbeck and Ozil as a front 3? Certainly more dangerous up front and frees Ozil up better.

Haha Jamesie baby, I think he's on about the good dembele from Dortmund not that naff one you have 😂.

SY if we played with two main strikers and Mesut just behind them and 3 CBs that would leave Xhaka and Ramsey isolated and extremely easy to play through and the fullbacks would have to be defenders and wingers plus help out in Cmf all for 90 minutes without any support at all.
Personally I think our strike force would be wasted as it would see so little of the ball, youve got to control games to be successful as relying on simply outscoring the opposition in a free for all hadn't worked in the past.
We'd need Kante and Makalele in cmf to accommodate such luxury rather than Xhaka and Ramsey :-)

Hi Ed002, if you were driving down the road (assuming you drive) and an Arsenal and a Spurs fan, both screamed out to you that your left rear tire was on fire, who do you think Arsenal are still in the market for and have a realistic chance of landing?

I don't understand mate.

@Sanogo, is it because I is foreign?

Presumably Ravers Mum's rusty Subaru. As for Toot signing anyone, they have a real problem in attracting top players with their compatively low wages.

Sanogo,

It's like if you saw Mourinho out in the sea drowning, what kind of sandwich would you make, cheese and pickle or chicken salad. 😂.

I like how you even tried to butter Ed02 up by using the incorrect American spelling of tire but you were still ignored!

For me the only thing Giroud lacks is pace.
If he had pace then he would be one of the most expensive players around.
Just look at his scoring record. You can't deny that it's pretty impressive for a guy that comes off the bench most of the time.

When Olly is first choice striker who doesn't moan about him?
When he misses his 3rd or 4th sitter who doesn't blame Arsene for not buying a proven goal scorer?
Olly is an asset as a plan B and an impact sub but regular first choice striker he's not consistent enough.

The stats say yes he is but the reality is he is a 15/ 16 premier league goal scorer if he starts 30 plus games of between 15 to 20.
Stats are an extremely unrealiable guide to anything because so often once you start questioning them they just don't stack up to reality.

I just don't see it. He's a big guy but doesn't dominate, he flicks a ball on because his first touch is poor, he has no movement or pace and misses easy chances. His plusses are good in the air in our box and he has the biggest quiff but that's it for me. He is a decent plan b but that's all.

Agree0 Disagree3

17 Jul 2017 14:16:17
I think technically he is decent and I don't think his touch is as poor as you say. There will be a team out there who would fit giroud very well and I think in the right club he could get 20 plus goals in the EPL.

Agree4 Disagree0

17 Jul 2017 14:56:50
Sano he couldn't get them with us, a team that creates more chances than most.

17 Jul 2017 15:41:03
It's not that straight forward steve . I don't think we play to his strengths . To say the things you have said about him above apart from the pace steve is utter rubbish. He may not be at the elite level of player and I agree he isn't what will take us to where we want to go but he is a very good footballer and people are talking nonsense imo.

Agree3 Disagree0

17 Jul 2017 16:00:42
I agree that in the right team that play to his strength consistently Olly could do very well especially as part of a 2 man strike force
It would be ironic if Olly and Theo teamed up at Everton and fired them to a 4th place finish just one point above us :-)
Would this page have a meltdown or what :-)
Many who are now calling for then to be sold would be up in arms that we let them go.
It's a funny old game.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2017 16:16:01
Great logic in theory, but then if you apply the same too Mertesacker he would be one of the best 5 centre backs in the world with how well he does everything else, the problem is neither of them have that pace and so are good enough for a plan b at a club looking for top honours.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2017 16:37:07
I think we are all right on what we are saying, in other words, he's not good enough for arsenal or its system.

17 Jul 2017 16:58:50
So we agree then! Giroud can't run but he scores goals.
Wasn't hard was it? .

Agree1 Disagree2

17 Jul 2017 17:05:06
giroud lacks pace and if theo had a brain and the feet and the skills of messi he would be a great. if merts could run 100metres in 5seconds less than his PB 18seconds he would be a world great. lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2017 17:58:25
Poldolski now there was a man who could score goals but I don't know if he could run or not as can't remember him ever trying to, he could have been faster than Usain Bolt but none of us will never know :-)
