I met an old man today sitting on a bench crying his eyes out.
I said what's the matter mate?
He said I'm 87 years old and so so unhappy
Why I asked him
Because 2 monthgs ago I married a beautiful 22 year old who's a brilliant cook keeps the house emasculate and we have wonderful sex 5 times a week.
Wow I said why does that make you so unhappy
Because I can't remember where I live

Interesting quote from AW on Messi given where he plays Ozil and Ozils work rate :

His position on the pitch: "When he sees Cristiano scoring plenty more goals than he is, his morale will dip. He won't be able to maintain his goalscoring stats playing out on the wing. In the long-term, he won't be happy. Playing on the wing is physically very demanding".

This is not a dig at Ozil as I want him using his energy going forward in the number 10 role.

Im not sure what wenger is getting at.

i would not be worried about messi or ronaldo or what they think and feel, he has done badly this season as a manager to motivate his team.

i appreciate his champions league qualification stamp, while team like Man utd, and livepool don't care for those spots and may have infinite money or trophies to not care, the progress of the brand and the club as a whole depends on our contention.

we are in no way one of the best squads in the league compared to previous years. Our striker is barely above average, our midfield is not good, our defense is rather poor, and our GK is decision prone.

he has too much faith in too many players, I guess the modern footballer needs someone to hold their hand, bit of a joke really.

cazorla, poldi, campbell, le coq, flamini, rosicky, sanogo need to be moved on. Arteta should not have got a contract, if he is going to be a backup I can understand but being a captain that is not going to happen and that CDM position will continue to haunt us.

i guess we can only hope the next man to take over for wenger won't have the pressure to break records.

while wenger has been arsenal's most successful manager, I feel the future stability will enable the next manager (if selected well) to succeed.

It will probably be a pay as you play deal I would guess! If his contract runs out he has zero value to the club , If he was to be given a pay as you play contact for 3 years and by some divine intervention got fit , he would at least have some sort of sell on value

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Nov 2014 21:23:29
Lol Red :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently he's out for three months again - it could only be some sort of pay as you play which makes sense, however even if he gets fit and plays for half a season I wouldn't want him taking a squad place up - sorry Abu

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has told Mousa Dembele he is free to find another club in January after remaining unimpressed with the midfielder this season, according to reports.
Pochettino has now decided he wants to offload the player, who has won 59 caps for his country, and he will be allowed to leave White Hart Lane for around £7m when the transfer window opens on, The People says.

Any takers

If he's not good enough for them he's defo not good enough for us!

Reminds me of when I used to get old cast off hand me down school uniform, worryingly I've only got a sister!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree 337 if he's not good enough for them, he definately isn't good enough for us.

Not good enough, way way way below an acceptable standard and will drive any respectable fan away.

I'm not talking about Dembele, I'm talking about 337's joke :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

No way. Can only last 70mins

Agree0 Disagree0

Wish I could last 70 mins

Agree0 Disagree0

7 mil? I'd rip their arm off, don't think the player they've ruined think the one Fulham sold them.
Or if you like Gervinho post Arsenal, one bad move doesn't mean they suddenly lose their abilities that made them in the first place

Agree0 Disagree0

It wasn't a joke dags! If anyone needs a size 10 pleated grey skirt i've got one I can't squeeze into anymore

Agree0 Disagree0

That reminds me 337, when I was at school my parents used to get our uniform from the Army & Navy store. Mind you I did look a right person sitting there in a rear admiral's outfit though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Memorys Epping, you're from the same area as me, on the corner at manor park, love that shop.

The only problem was I could never find any staff, they all wore camoflage!

I see AW has admitted he tried to sign Pogba in 2012, at least he has admitted we need a DM but two years later and we still haven't signed one!

There was a time when young french players would do anything to play for Arsene, has he lost his credibility in France?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

17 Nov 2014 13:42:39
He just signed a contract extension at Juventus that take him up to 2019 so Wenger is going to have to break the bank to get him.

That would be a dream signing and there's more chance of Dags making a career change into comedy! ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair back in 2012 it was hard to sign Pogba for English teams as he was a untied player spurs tried really hard to get him, but he could move abroad for free and utd couldn't stop him although Fergie desperately wanted to.he was seen as a trouble maker at utd if I remember right

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No. That was not the situation at all.}

Or alternatively it was nothing like my previous post at all, apparently :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Another world class player on the long list of missed opportunities, which include: Ronaldo, Messi, Ibrimovic and now Pogba.
Is there a reason Wenger tells us about his failure to sign these players?

g62,

I heard he wanted time in the first team and at that time United were struggling for midfielders but rather than give him game time they pulled Scholesy back out of retirement.

At that point he decided to go.

Again it could be nothing like that but just what was said after he moved.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes Robbie, because he wants us to know that he did try, the qustion is though is it because the finances weren't there? or because he feels like it is 'his' own money and holds on to it?

Only one man knows (not you dags btw)

Mata*Mascherano Smalling Jones

Agree0 Disagree0

AG, nice team.

Apart from Smalling, jones and Mata, lucky escape there!

Hey ED002 - what actually happened with Pogba?

Was it that Ferguson didn't like him and wanted him out - aware of his potential so shipped him abroad?

Or was it that he wanted more game time and Juventus promised him that?

Thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It was all dealt with on teh MU page at the time. I am not opening it all up again here.}

17 Nov 2014 18:01:58
Pogba had decided he wanted out long before he left the ed mentioned, fergie was reluctant to play him because he would not commit.

The summer before I think batman (ed2) said riola was hawking him around for a move.

Agree0 Disagree0

Before today Red I was pretty certain Spurs wanted him but wouldn't pay what united wanted so he went to Juve, I thought previous to today of course that Fergie was convinced he would end up at spurs a year later via Juve on the cheap and was less than happy about it and accused spurs of planning something or other underhanded.
Obviously I know that's not true now but it was what I thought previously to today course and had a false memory of from the time.

I lost my job as a forensics officer but have just got a new job as a house cleaner for a very small 1980's pop singer.

I've gone from dusting for prints to dusting for Prince.

I just want to throw it out there that I believe we should try to cash in on Santi in January. Great player no doubt but he has been out of sorts lately, he is a top earner and he is at an age were we can still get a decent bit of dollar for him.
What do you guys think?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Its 100% yes from me Van, he didn't last season or so far this looked that interested to me for whatever reason.
our MF is crowded with light weight flair players swap a few for some more physical types to give us a mix of both

Agree0 Disagree0

All the no10s unbalance the squad and leave us short in other areas. One or two more could go too.

Apart from the first season and FA Cup Final goal, he's been very disappointing.

He's got the skill, passing ability and nous to run the show, but goes missing far too often.

But, for me, players like Cazorla suffer because we don't have a recognised DM to stifle the oppositions attack, win the ball, and give it to players like Santi, so they can do their magic.

No good having a brand new car battery if your starter motor doesn't work.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why keep Santi when we have Rosicky who doesn't play. Sell him for bucks, we have lots of cover and use the money on something else.

I can't understand why for the life of me, some people think i'm negative. Well i'm going to be positive. In an earlier reply I suggested that welbeck would out score lakaku and bony, in the league this season, Would anyone like to challenge that.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Your not negative Steve realistic without the tendency not to get carried away when rainbows first appear on the horizon would be my assessment mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely when he is being supplied by the likes of Ozil, Sanchez, OX, Santi, Walcott etc you should be scoring more than the others.

Agree0 Disagree0

Giroud didn't beat bony last year and was one ahead of lakaku. I think welbeck will do better, than that. We will see.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Nov 2014 13:37:58
I'm with you steve, not the biggest fan of Welbeck but 10 goals in 16 games since he joined us means he has every chance.

Bony showed against us and more specifically up against Monreal that he isn't that special.

Lukaku looks the part, not prolific yet be he is one who could be top quality.
