Notes on our performance today:
Welbeck is not good enough to be our striker, he always seems to have a few decent moments in a game but you know he's rarely going to score. On top of that, the difference between him and Giroud in holding up the ball and linking up with the rest of the team is massive. Let's offer city welbeck and wilshere for aguero, and then just hope they're as drunk as I think they are over there.
Ramsey shouldn't play on the wing, it's silly.
Gibbs always seems to make our defense really vulnerable to counters. It's funny to think that Monreal, whom a lot of us wanted rid of especially myself, is suddenly a player that I want on the pitch every game.
Debuchy doesn't look sharp enough yet. I really hope Bellerin plays against Chelsea, can see Hazard running rings around a sluggish Debuchy and Bellerin really helps with our attacking width.
Szczesny did nothing to convince me he shouldn't be sold in the summer.
Walcott still doesn't look sharp, but his lack of game time isn't helping, are we trying to keep him injury free for our title challenge next season?
Le coq, il est magnifique!

Your right about most things in your post but wrong about Wellbeck , he'll come good for us

Spot on. I can't think of much that welbeck did for us yesterday. We looked so much more dangerous when giroud came on. Maybe playing them both together is better. Hopefully debuchy is just regaining that match fitness. we didn't use the wide areas enough at all yesterday. Specially ramsey on the right, can't wait for ox to return. Can't see how Wilshere is going to get back in to this ream too, we aren't going to drop ozil or cazorla.

I agree 1404 if Danny had been the only change yesterday he may well have bagged a few goals, but no Belerin or Monreal along with Giroud threw the team pattern completely off course, one at a time and we probably wouldn't have noticed the change that much but all 3 was to much at one time.

Yeah pretty much agree. For me Wellbeck is useful player to have in your squad but he will never be a leading first choice striker he just does not hold onto the ball well or consistently enough when its played into him. Giroud had much bigger influence when he game on. Welbeck as main striker who will have his moments of brilliance but will go missing in large parts of the game.

The main issue yesterday was lack of width especially down the right side Ramsey our wide right is never going to work. I don't understand Wenger's choices sometimes. The game was crying out for Walcott way before he came on. Also Dubuchy was way short of match sharpness and hence I think why he was reluctant to get forward much compounding the lack of width problem.

Gibbs also was shaky defensivly and it was big risk to see both Gibbs and Dubuchy when Monreal and Bellerin have been in decent form.

They played them off the park. He would say and all we did was get to a mickey mouse cup final. Oh the shame to be a gooner.

Can only assume you both cheered when Babi's mum was shot too, horrible thing to happen to any player let alone one playing in the biggest game of his life.

Let's face it it's his job to not make mistakes like that, he trains every day and gets paid well for it, it's a mistake and that's that and could happen once in a career on the training field or in a cup semi final! hopefully he's got the mindset to realise it and won't beat himself up too much
In 1983 I missed a penalty in the last minute of a match that handed our local rival primary school the win, I was devasted for a while but my mum took me to the local little chef for a kids all day breakfast and I got a lolly and a kinder egg on the way out and thought no more about it tbh

Every player will make awful mistakes in their career. With a goaly though he effects can be huge. I think we deserved he win regardless but fair play to reading. They made it really tough for us.

We nearly paid the price for playing Szczeny, Debuchy & Gibbs. Ramsey was awful out wide and we missed Giroud.
Looking forward to the final, well done to Wenger and the team for getting there.

Thought it was an unnecessary gamble before the game kicked off Robbie but we got away with it so no harm done.

We got away with one there. Ozil and Sanchez the only one who get pass marks today. Thought Ramsey had a shocker. Looks lost on the right. Get him back in the middle with Ozil and Le Coq and then we'll see his best form.

Le Coq gets better and better and better, even if you beat him you've only got 3 second window to use the ball or you have to beat him again. Brilliant

He's awesome, not done hardly anything wrong since nailing down his starting status which will mean he'll probably get dropped for Arteta very soon.

Very strong starting XI. Wilshere, Walcott and Welbeck all on the bench aswell, great strenght in depth. Interesting to see Debuchy starts in such a big game and Welbeck also starts.

We really should see off Reading, on such a large pitch our passing and counter attacking game should be on point. Going for a 3-1 win, Welbeck brace and Walcott coming off the bench to score.

Just been reading an article about Luke Shaw, I know people have mentioned that he has been a flop at United this season and those comments are fair but I red that apparently LVG pulled him off at half time against us saying he's not fit to play for United? To me that's disgraceful for a manager to say to one of his players, if he was constantly getting arrested for drunken violence and things like that I could understand but he's done nothing wrong, ok he hasn't lived up to expectations but then his manager should be there giving him as much support as possible, after reading it he seems like quite a sensitive lad so this is not going to do him any good at all! That's the one thing I've always respected a lot about Wenger, he's always taken younger players under his wing and helped them break through. Not arsenal related I know but I think it's a shame when a lot of talk lately has been about home grown talent but some managers a quite happen to just drop home grown talent at the click of their fingers!

They are paying him 100k a week. he's now living away from home maybe its effected him. He would be better placed playing for us tho. Still think he'll be a top player

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Apr 2015 09:41:43
I think it's more disgraceful that LVG thinks it's ok to go around pulling off players maybe it's motivation I dunno with these dutch lads sometimes. Sorry Essex he he

In think your right Diarby he's a very young bloke living a long way from home who's life has moved at 1000 pmh the last 12 months.
It doesn't matter how much you pay someone its doesn't stop them being human and having the same emotions and feelings as anyone else, the lad needs time to adjust and with the right help I'm sure he will be OK.
