I getting to a point where I wants to do well so just some of the fans here give it a damn rest (being polite here)
You go on about the money, oh spend the bloody money but when we are ready and not care on lossing such players for free just to prove we are capable this year you all start taking about bad management and loss of money. Its not your money to care about when you want to spend it when you don't . Just let it be and see the out come.
Its not about having an opinion any more its about who can bit** more about it.
Its always the same damn story, the same damn moan its just becoming a little boaring tho.
Do you want to have an opinion, have where it counts.

if I was confident next year of replacing ozil ox sanchez if they to on a free sure let's do it. but under this owner and board no chance we will struggle badly. i'm all for the big wages but seem we have offered them too late on.

wenger my expect with these we can win the title they will sign deals and life is lovely but I can't see it.

so I feel if there going get top money and go again.

It's been a long long time since we were involved in the title race Moe so people need a reason they can think " ok i can see why it might be different this time round '
Beat Stoke and Liverpool and people will start to come round.
The club and team need to show the fans it's worth getting excited rather than simply relying on a new season doing it for them.
The club need to start earning the fans optimism back again rather than simply expecting it as a right.

A win at Stoke we're they are thinking 100% about football and not beach balls would be a very impressive result for us Steve.
They don't like us at all and thier fans don't like Arsene even more and demand their team do all they possibly can to humiliate us best they can.
A draw for anyone at Stoke is no bad point for us that bit more so a win with all hands on deck from both sides? Would be impressive and make the trip to Liverpool that much more exciting.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Aug 2017 23:23:56
Derby, what make you think if they sold for top money they going to use that money. I would rather lose them for free next season then selling and replacing them this season.

G62 and steve, fair enough the fans feels they want a reason to come around again, but keep going on about the same things ain't going to change it. You say beat stoke and liverpool and the fans will start believing again well wait and see until the full team is back and judge or moan or whatever you want to do. Even tho lose the next game and the same fans will be on at it once again.

Last season we were crying for Lacazette and powerful LB we got them that's an improvement already. This is Mustafi next season so he knows what to expect and honestly I rate him, same with Xhaka ok steve he's not Kanty but get over it mate, we all wanted this midfielder that not scared to tackle and we got one, you going tontalk about his red cards check out Veira when he started with us, this is Xhaka second season.

Just wait, see how this weekend goes and the next, wait until the transfer window shuts, we will have a better idea of the team.
Sorry for the rant but this page it's becoming very repetitive.

Moe I'm very very open to being wrong mate and i would be impressed by 3 wins in our first 3 games.
So much of what I've read this season from people who are optimistic about what we can achieve seems to soround Xhaka becoming everything people hoped he'd be when he arrived.
Let's see if both Xhaka and Arsene can Silence their doubters by mounting our first title challenge in over decade, finish within 5 points of the winners and me Steve and the other nay sayers will be proven wrong over a season.
There surely has to come a time when even Arsene has to do more than simply talk a title challenge and actually deliver one.
I appreciate your bored with the negativity Moe mate, so am i, I want to be excited by Arsenal again, I want that feeling of not being able to wait for the next game to get here again I want to be checking out the fixture lists looking where Utd City Spurs Chelsea might drop points, surely that's how it should be for a club like Arsenal most seasons and if not certainly atleast some seasons, but it's been a very long time since the title race run in was applicable to us.

Gunner we get this every year around this time and bit by bit most realise their optimism is misplaced. Like you I want to be proved wrong but until that time my rose specs are in the case. Plus this apathy was always going to be slow moving when it was decided the boss was staying and so were his ideas. A new man in would have boosted every body to start with at least. With Wenger the mood has to be changed not promised, that doesn't rub with people any more.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Aug 2017 13:28:17
Steve, I'm with you on having the new man in charge but what can we do now, the ship sailed mate for at least another 2 seasons. So what now we keep going on about it? No. We have been promised this year will be a better year, so let's wait and see how's the next two games go and when the transfer window shuts and than if nothing going as planned I will be there with you criticising the hell out of wenger and the team if they don't preform to Arsenal standards.
We are all in the same boat, we want the best for the arsenal I have no doubt, I'm not saying put on those specs and be optimistic I'm saying give it a rest on the negativity and talking the team already. Sure you have every right to speak your mind but don't your mind a little board from the same tune. Just saying mate. And this is not directed to you I'm talking In general.
G62 Xhaka is staying and is in the starting 11 we like it or not for the moment therefore I'm hoping he will do better and be the beast in the midfield rather than slating him for now. I want to impressed and nervous when we play and its going to take time but I'm monitoring the time and hoping for the best.
Dags mate, what the hell happened to your jokes, they were silly and sometimes not funny 😜 for sure but you got distracted from it all 😂.
Seriously guys no disrespect to anyone opinion.

Moe, you tell me to give it a rest on all the negativity. That wears a bit thin with me. My post are my thoughts and regardless of what a few people say, not all negative. People choose to pick up on the negative and that's their problem not mine. I don't look at it as negative or positive just what people think. I think there are some people on here that are positive to the extreme that it's not interesting, just boring same old bright future but I don't slag them off or constantly tell them they are boring me with their ideal optimism. I either ignore them or respectfully reply to them, with my take on their opinion. People may or may not find my posts boring or whatever, I can't help that but some actually agree and that's where it called opinion. People gloss over my positive posts shall we call them, again that's their perogative. People slagged lanesra off on here recently and to be honest I found that awful and he's a poster who doesn't give it back and his posts are different. He tried to be a bit off the wall and give a bit of humour and was as far as I'm concerned hounded and bated. My pet hate is people who spend their time dissing the person and not joining the debate with decent posts, positive or negative. Sorry for the rant. Some of us have been posting for years and understand where we are coming from and we respect their thoughts, don't always agree but we reply to each other's posts with excellent replies that reflect their thoughts and we add humour as well. That's what it's about.

I was wondering which midfielders Arsenal are now trying to sign. Have we bid for Jankto? His agent was talking about a move to England a couple of weeks ago.

I also see on the West Ham page that Danilo Pereira is someone they are trying to sign. Have Arsenal completely moved on from him now or could we go back to him?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

18 Aug 2017 20:20:35
I don't think we are looking to sign anyone at the moment. We need to move the wood that is dead on, first. Or the overpaid seat warmers.

I'm sorry did I miss something? I see people going on about the transfer of Gabriel, I like most of you have watched him play and in my opinion he only had a few decent games and before that he gave away the ball more times than I can remember in goal scoring positions, I'm sorry but I never thought he was good enough to wear that shirt, glad he's gone.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

18 Aug 2017 12:22:24
I agree that he hasn't been a great success, but unless we intend replacing him before the window shuts with a better player, then selling him and for such a low fee seems foolish. In effect our top three centre backs are now Merte, Kos and Mustafi and we only have two very inexperienced young CB's, Chambers and Holding as cover. Afterwhich we use either of our left backs Monreal or Kolasinac. I just noticed on the official site that Bramall has been added to the squad and he looked extremely weak in the pre-season matches.

Agree0 Disagree3

18 Aug 2017 13:57:34
He probably had his best games last season to be honest, but he would be my first choice to clear from the defense if a better player has been lined up. What i can't believe is the reported price, with the crazy prices being quoted for any old tripe these days i don't see why we would flog a player with premiership experience on the cheap, taking a big loss on our purchase price. Now that really doesn't make sense.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Aug 2017 14:20:14
He's a terrible defender you would be better shipping him off and using your youth.
Can't be any worse imo.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Aug 2017 14:21:10
RG61, I thought Bramall was going out on loan, was surprised he got time pre-season as I thought he was very average tbh, let's hope wenger as someone lined up, but I doubt it like you said in your post there is cover there, EppingGooner there is a reason behind the small sell on fee, its because we are Arsenal and would have been charged over the odds for him in the first place.

Hi ya Chris mate. How are you.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Aug 2017 16:57:59
Wenger has always said we only buy players who are better than what we have. Over the past few years that statement is utter garbage. Gabrial bought and being sold at a loss, Perez bought and being sold at a loss, mustaffi available if we can recoup most of the transfer fee, chambers we are willing to let go, debauchery we can't give away, jenkinson we are stuck with, Campbell the forgotten man, I've forgotten the Japanese Messi we bought, miachi and the list goes on. Expensive flops.

I was just looking at today's photos from training prior to the Stoke game, great to see Sanchez out with the rest of the boys. Hopefully I'm wrong about him going and is on the bench for Stoke.

Notable absences were Debuchy, Gibbs and Perez who had previously been in all the training photo's. Moves a foot maybe?

Just in relation to money, it's not mine I don't care what they sell players for, the focus is trimming the squad, then the important thing is bringing in better.

Yes we've had some duffers but what team hasn't.

Hey CTR, I guess you read the threads on the arsenal page so do you see most of them are confident for the season coming lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Aug 2017 20:26:13
I think with Gabriel going it is for certain that Wenger will largely stick with back 3 now. I think the 1st choice will be Kos, Mustafi and Monreal then Holding, Mert and Chambers as cover so its still decent without being fantastic. Gabriel had good physical attributes but he was not the most intelligent at reading the game, it's not a great loss really.

I don't really want to see Kolasanic in the back 3 atall as he is much better as a LWB and will offer much more to the team in that position.

The main issues is the getting good defensive shield in front of them from midfield as I am not convinced the Ramset and Xhaka partnership offers that well enough. We also have to ditch this Zonal marking nonsense at corners and start marking man to man.

Moe,
I haven't mate although I'd say there can't be that much to be positive about if u support arsenal at this moment in time.

All seems a bit same old same old to me.

Sure u will have great moments but ultimately I'm sure it will end up sameish (is that a word lol? )

I hope not as I would like to see utd and arsenal along with Liverpool fighting each other at the top of the table and not the 3rd to 6th place.

Since arsenal last won the league United have won more than 5 PL's a CL, few league cups and a fa cups or two and I can tell u at the time fighting off the likes of city and Chelsea for them isn't half as exciting as arsenal and Liverpool.

Sure the many trophies won made it feel good though :) but there was a real satisfaction about beating a arsenal or Liverpool to a title than others.

I'm sure over the next generation that will change but I grew up with a different rivalry and it's sad that no longer exists atm.
U have stagnated and us and Liverpool have just been plain shite lol.

Hopefully that changes for us this season but previous form leaves me skeptical :)

Lots of stories in the press today about Juliana Draxler. PSG have apparently told him he can move from the club because of Neymar's arrival. I have been calling out for us to sign this guy for years and I believe he is a truly classy player who is a big upgrade from the Walcott's, Welbeck's and Iwobi's in the team. Let's get this deal done please Arsenal.

That doesn't mean we are going to sell him mate, chill out dude. You sound like there's crisis at the club.

Agree2 Disagree2

18 Aug 2017 07:54:09
No crisis, just 4 or more players in the last year of their contracts, of which 2 are arguably our best players. 7ish players that need to be sold or loaned out. In the process of selling an experienced CB for less than a decent Championship CB. Using two LB's as cover for the CB's. If Ox goes no cover for Bellerin. Only 2 signings during the current window, Are we any more likely to challenge for the title or even finish in the top four this season? Whilst Man City and Man United have strengthened their squads. The sad thing is that I'm surif Wenger wanted £150m that would have secured a couple of top signings then he would have received it.

Agree7 Disagree2

18 Aug 2017 08:01:12
Thing is the Championship cb may be pricey but that's because an English team is buying him. If it was an English team for Gabriel I reckon we'd be asking for more. We do need another cb I feel. I wouldn't worry about mustafi. If he goes and I doubt he will then he would 100% be replaced.

The Mustafi rumour was reported by metro. Not sure if there's any truth to it but I'd hate to lose both Gab and Mustafi in the same window. That is unless we replace one of them.

In fact, we should make a few statements of intent by signing Draxler, Seri, Lemar and perhaps either Manolas or Koulibaly.

If these signings happen, I wouldn't mind Sanchez being sold to PSG if they're interested. I'd prefer Mustafi stayed but Gab, Gibbs, Campbell, Perez, Ox, can all leave.

£35M a piece for Draxler and Seri and if reports are to be believed, £60M a piece for Lemar and Koulibaly. £190M this season (excluding Lacca) would ensure we didn't need heavy investments for at least the next 2-3 years and we will have given the team an excellent chance at trying to achieve over the next couple of seasons.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Aug 2017 03:32:29
I may be proven wrong, but this window is fast becoming a usual 'Wenger' one. We have made two fine signings for £52m. Whilst having recouped approx £12m Szczesny. and Hinds £2m. We look likely to sell Gabriel for £10m, at a loss on what we paid for him and at a low fee. That leaves a net spend of £38m. We have not been able to move on players that are clearly surplus to requirements, nor extend any of the deals of the 4 or so players in the last year of their deal. It is looking like we will sell Sanchez for approx £50m and replace him with Cuadrado for around £25m, reducing our net spend to £13m. Assuming we sell Perez and or Gibbs and others, the net spend could turn into a transfer profit, I can also see Ox going, when if reports are correct a salary of £150,000 per week would keep him at the club. I understand that it may not be possible to retain the players in the last year of their deal and that Gabriel has been a disappointment, but if we had signed Lemar £80m and Van Dijk £70m then the fans could accept Sanchez and Gabriel departing. However, I can see only one more signing, a replacement for Sanchez such as Cuadrado and enetering the season with 5 recognised CB's: Merte, Mustafi, Koscielny. Holding and Chambers, with Monreal or Kolasinac able to fill in. Buying Kolasinac, Lacazette and say Cuadrado, whilst selling Gabriel, Sanchez and Ox will moy be an upgrade and I hope i'm wrong and Wenger has a CB and a top replacement for Sanchez, as well as retaining Ox.

If I win the euro millions tonight I might go to Vegas next week but obviously this would depend on many things falling into place at the same time as if it was only a £25 win this would heavily influence my decision in which case I may change my target and put in a bid for a two for £10 meal at a local pub and invest the rest in a case of becks beer. My hunch is I will waste £2.50 and win nothing at all leaving me with a net loss of 2.50 but of course this would still be very dependent on the millionaire raffle numbers which it's far to early to rule out completely at this stage.
