After seeing Cech playing for us today I have to admit it feels kinda odd to see him guarding our goal.
Love the signing but for me it will take some time to get used to it

Today was a great game. And also it highlights how close we are to winning the Title again!.
But we do need a world class striker to fully utilize the vision of ozil and cazorla and the skillful dribbles and crosses from sanchez(though he's on holiday)as we've witnessed today against Everton!
We currently have world class goalkeeper in Cech.
World class defender in koscielny for defense.
World class attacking midfield in cazorla and ozil for midfield.
World class winger in Sanchez.
And to complete the zigsaw we need a world class striker.
Benzema would do ;)
Coyg!.

Always nice to have a good pre season but its August 8th onwards that matters, I'm not throwing cold water on anyones excitement but remember how excited people got when we beat city in the community shield then went on to struggle for the rest of 2014.
What ever preseason brings I'm sure we'll have a much better 1st half to the season but even bearing Chelsea in this years community shield will count for nothing once the season starts.

18 Jul 2015 20:23:09
Yes it was a good game and we looked sharp. But you cannot use a performance in a pre season Friendly against Everton in the middle of Asia to give you any indication that we are going to win the leauge

Agree4 Disagree0

19 Jul 2015 01:23:08
Enjoyed the win, enjoyed the game, but nothing can be judged from a pre season friendly, except, present fitness of individuals. It is a friendly to help regain match fitness and that's all. But i will say it is still nice to win them.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It also makes the club a few quid, that's the main point of these daft bounce games on the other side of the world.}

19 Jul 2015 08:34:41
Pre season games are just training sessions mate , enough talk of winning the title until the actual season starts and then we can start talking about our title credentials.

19 Jul 2015 11:42:36
Oh yes and that ed. A few more quids in the piggy bank, for a rainy day.

Team looking very sharp - Hector looking great again, Ox is looking very rusty so would be good for him to have some more game time

Believable1 Unbelievable0

18 Jul 2015 15:36:38
How great was it to see Cech between the sticks, The Ox is such a talent and hoping he has a great season. Almost trying to hard.

I realise this is pre season but boy do we have some talent in this squad.

A great striker really has to be top of our list of players to bring in, Lewandowski, Lacazette or Benzema would do it for me.

Ed025 must be sick as a parrot, they were bloody awful.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Jul 2015 16:45:53
Very talented squad and as per AW - it will take something exceptional to improve the team. Hope that opportunity arises

Cohesion is key to a winning team, as is that something extra special ( up front and defence ) and a bit of luck with injuries

Fingers crossed we can add two more to the squad

Cech was a good addition

Ox is trying too hard but always plays with a slightly heavy touch

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2015 17:37:09
I'm sure the opportunity is going to arise and Wenger will add where it's needed and I think 2 more and that will be it for this season.

It really would be great for Shad Forsyth's work to come to fruition even more and injuries be kept at an absolute minimum.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2015 18:40:54
Agreed we need someone like lewandowski, lacazette, benzema to really make a mark in champions league!

It's nice to see a strong squad out. Near enough our first team.

I like that

Cazorla is on fire cracking goal and just setup Ozil who scored with a great finish. We are looking good albeit against Everton who look lethargic. Sorry Ed025

18 Jul 2015 14:18:51
Good 45 mins - nice to see Ozil getting a pre-season for us and showing some great touches & passes

This is the season I was always looking forward to with Ozil. A pre-season and no major tournament leading into season

18 Jul 2015 14:54:51
Add a goal and more nice touches - great player to watch as a fan but must be great to watch if an up & coming Gooner

Couple of lovely assists and a goal

18 Jul 2015 14:01:10
Great through ball for Theo who timed his run real well and finished in style

Nice goal - now sign the extension!

Even if you don't like Theo - his pace & runs are extremely dangerous and he gives us the X factor.

Who got the assist?

18 Jul 2015 13:57:51
Walcott playing up front just scored a really well taken goal held off the defender and hit a great through ball first time. Great goal. Looks up for it up front.

Great goal by Walcott through the middle hopefully he signs a deal contract. Think he is a great player

18 Jul 2015 12:15:27
Forgot about this player - Hernandez from Utd

Like hoddle stated, I would love to see him in an Arsenal shirt as he would score a hat full of goals

I would like this to happen - thoughts?

18 Jul 2015 13:56:19
I think Walcott would do just as good give him his chance there

Ed
Sorry for the questions as you are probably bored of them now but : are we in for Vidal? If we don't get Benzema who are the main targets now, given that some have ridiculous buy outs and some have now signed for teams?
Thanks for your hard work on the site and special Intel....

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I am bored of the same questions being asked repeatedly - like this one.}

18 Jul 2015 12:09:12
Sorry Ed - I thought there had been developments in both these areas recently. I don't ask questions very often
Have a great weekend

Gnarby out on loan would be a mistake in my opinion, yes he'd get experience at west brom but I've a feeling he could be very valuable to us in the season ahead.
I think he could well be this seasons surprise package for us.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

18 Jul 2015 11:16:06
Think about Coq

May be good to loan him out in the first half of season while our midfield options are strong. Get game time and bring back a more experienced and sharp player in second half of season

6 month loan could be perfect

Arsene is refusing to rule out a 40 million bid for that French bloke at Real who's name eludes me :-(
This can only mean we are fishing in very different waters and possibly have a bite we'd rather no one poached, I hope who ever he is he's never been linked to us before as we need to up our vocabulary from Khedira Higuain and the Frenchman of Madrid.

Good to have you back 22.5 what do you think of Peter Check mate? I think he could be differential this Sassoon in my optician.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2015 16:37:17
It's cech ffs! Going back to counciling now :-) great acquisition in my optician mate, not sure about his mum making him wear a bobble hat in the summer though

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2015 06:37:03
Reports coming through that Flamini will, thankfully, depart this summer. It comes as no surprise that both Arteta and Rosicky are already injured and they should have gone as well.
The clearout is gaining momentum, with the following gone or going: Jenkinson, Abou Diaby, Flamini, Sanogo, Podolski & Campbell. I would imagine Ospina will also be moved on. I would also consider sending Chambers out on a seasons loan, to play at centre back. The same goes for Hayden. Other loans that may be considered are Martinez, Wellington, Iwobi, Willock, Toral & Crowley.
Thierry Henry stated that we need to make four signings and I agree with him. I believe these to be: a quality left back. A fourth centre back. A defensive midfield player and a top notch forward.
I expect the one or two signings Wenger mentioned.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

18 Jul 2015 07:50:12
If we really do need 4 we will be short again this season because I can't see than many arriving, 2 at the very most.

18 Jul 2015 08:36:40
Robbie, spot on. With all the departures there should be space for these acquisitions but you know Wenger.....

Agree0 Disagree1

18 Jul 2015 10:12:06
why would you sign 4 first team players? it's just stupid

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Jul 2015 11:38:25
Yes saint, it'd be ridiculous. But some people don't take cohesion squad morale in to consideration.

Agree2 Disagree0

18 Jul 2015 12:00:09
Thierry Henry stupid. Mmmmmmmmm

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Jul 2015 12:30:21
4 squad players won't upset the balance of the squad and we need them to compete at the top for the PL & CL. The starting eleven will comprise almost entirely of players already at the club. I would suggest that the only first team spot that needs change is at left back and of course we will play Cech, so 2 positions out of 11. We need cover for Coquelin, an additional striker and a 4th centre back.

Agree1 Disagree1

18 Jul 2015 00:04:41
Theo is the closest thing to Henry :-)

Believable0 Unbelievable1

18 Jul 2015 07:48:08
We either need to find out how close he can get or get shot this summer, he's not a very top class winger so play him down the middle or take the money.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2015 09:04:24
Unfair to compare the two, although Thierry started off as a winger.

Theo, in my opinion, is not good enough to lead the line.

Sure, he could fill in from time to time, but for 60 games in a season?
Nope.

Terrific winger, a proper old fashioned winger, but not a full time forward.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2015 10:04:08
But Dags I know your a big Theo fan mate but would he play regularly for city Chelsea Bayern or Barca on the wings?
I'm hoping this season both Jack and Theo will finally do what Le Coq and Belerin did last season and Aaron the season before and have a season that convinces everyone that they are the real deal not just more of the same hero to zero inconsistently brilliant bits.
My own view is Theo's only chance of ever doing that is down the middle because Bale Reus Ribery Robben he still ain't and doesn't look like ever being at 26 years old how long do we wait and hope on him mate?

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2015 11:42:55
Look we can either buy a like for like upgrade on giroud (Benzema , lewandowski) and use theo from wings to play striker to change the direction in games where we get no joy. Or we can buy a quicker striker ( lacazette or aubameyang ) and have giroud as a plan b or play along side in a more traditional line
I'm sure we are going to get some good business done . I'm also confident that we will get someone that we thought wasn't on our radar and will have us all saying omg.

FA tell Tottenham that the logical place for them to play during their rebuild is The Emirates stadium!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

18 Jul 2015 06:26:33
It makes complete sense, as we never play at home on the same day, so they will have no problem complying with FA fixture regulations. From Arsenal's point of view it would be financially enticing and it would work in every aspect for the Toot. Will it happen? I doubt it!
