What happens if Giroud gets injured?
Play Rambo up front I say.

On a serious note, how satisfying is it to see hardwork pay off. Lesson to those who pack it in after couple of bad hands get dealt to them.

Special mention to Gibbs. Quickly becoming my favourite fullback since wee Nigel.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Here here about Gibbs.

Can attack and defend, becoming quite the full back, England call up deserved with his current form.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think monreal is a better defender. gibbs has pace so he runs up more often. but sometimes he just needs to sit back.

i also find he lacks consistency. although he like ramsey are making me eat to much humble pie. no more please.

fantastic result. not the hardest team in the world but we went there and turned them over. a year ago we would have come away empty but we have a great resilience about us. we seem to constantly play better away from the emirates, but i'm not complaining.
not too many man of the match performances tonight (maybe gibbs) but we played well as a team. once theo and jack get up to speed and full fitness I think we will be awesome. another mention about ramsey, good solid game and yet another goal. we all talk about jack, ozil and theo but ramsey just keeps grabbing the headlines, he's a top boy

Ha ha, again! Ramsey&wenger:1 boo boys:0! made all the sweeter by watching ozil play along side. the world class player that the same people thought wenger would never sign as they knew wenger's only concern was being a nutter and ruining the club ha ha ha. Shouldn't gloat but far it's far too enjoyable not to : )

Keep it up lads!

2-1 away win. Not a great performance by any means but improved in 2nd half and started to create a few chances.

Well taken goal from Walcott but he did not do much else. Ramsey scored again, our best midfielder tonight. Ozil had a few moments but largely looked leggy and off the pace, not up to 100% match sharp yet. Gibbs played well. Defence not massievly troubled, but played well as a unit. Flamini did a decent protection job.

Thank Bergkamp for that!
First half was one of frustration due to poor passing all round. Thankfully we were met with a pretty toothless team. Good play up to the final third then very little.
Kieran Gibbs played very well in both defence and attack, and was my man of the match until Ramsey scored. I've got to say I'm overjoyed for the lad. Constantly puts in a shift and is now scoring goals (Souness you tw@). A very important three points.

Good strike by Theo,
Never a penalty,
And chavski lose.
If only all nights were like these.

You deserved the win, but it was a clear penalty

Ramsey poked the ball away before any contact.

Not a penalty.

Penalty smenalty. still won the game

A message for Graeme souness;

Can you please criticise some more of our players like you did Ramsey?

Thanks in advance,

Arsene Wenger

Ha:) nice one, AW:)

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't Souness say he thought Ramsey was a very god player but needed to add goals to be more of a complete player? He hardly critiqued him at all tbf, no more than must Gooners last season.

Agree0 Disagree0

1404, he back tracked and said that after, a week or so before he said that he was not good enough and that he didn't know what type of player he was supposed to be.

Agree0 Disagree0

337, I stand corrected you are right

2-0 yesssss and with santi, arteta, poldolski all back with ozil wilshere and Ramsey god teams better watch out. If we can get a top striker in January or the summer and a top keeper we WILL start to watch the trophy cabinet slowly fill.

Full on fallen in love with Aaron Ramsey, anyone else?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Surely he is close now to getting at least half the love, Patience and understanding Jack gets when he has a quite game. Both are a BIG part of our bright new future, would love to see Aaron get the support he deserves through a touugh time should he ever have one again that is

Agree0 Disagree0

Rambo is the total nuts and to think I use to slag him off so much. credit to the guy, he works his socks off and is playing like a demon

0-0 pretty poor scrappy 1st half we have been poor in final third, but so have they. Ozil looks off the pace tonight but few attacking options on bench to change things.

Gibbs is getting no protection down our left Wilshire often neglecting the left side when we lose ball.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

18 Sep 2013 19:18:55
Still think Rooney would be a great signing if we could get him. He is a far better player on the ba;l than most strikers and sees a pass better than most as well. He already plays extremely well when he plays alongside Walcott and I'm sure that within our fold he would flourish as a very complete footballer.

I'm a Liverpool fan. A month or so ago everyone was writing you off, everyone was talking about a crisis at Arsenal. You lot have shown you can never be written off. I'd love it if you got top 4 again and have a real go at the title, (as long as it's not at our expense of course!). Personally I'm fed up of the title going to United, or Money FC (Chelsea or City). We're not going to be there although we're improved enough to get top 4. So Arsenal, do us all a favour and shut the spuds, mancs and oil shieks up!
Good luck tonight in Europe.
Cheers.

So excited for this game!

I'm predicting 3-0 or 3-1 to us! OM will see us at home as one of their biggest chances to get points (I'd say Napoli then us at their place) so they're going to play, and we'll play right back. Our team is fearless right now!

I can see a slow first half, trading blows, working the opposition out, maybe drawing at half time, and then in the second half we step it up get 2 or 3 second half goals.

That's my theory and I'm sticking to it!

Your predictions? Eds?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

2-0. Giroud and a Late one from Rambo on the counter attack.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Marseille will score, but no more than the one. i'm going for 4-1 to the Arsenal. Giroud with 2, Walcott and I feel a Jacky Wilshere goal coming :)

Must win tonite wouldn't u say lads? Feeling confident?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Feel much more confident with Ozil. just hope caz, rosicky and Arteta can come back soon to the fold. we need the depth.

also hope poldi and ox can recover sooner than expected. with soo many games, having a pile up of injuries to current players is possible.

with the caz injury, having ozil was a stroke of luck along with genius.

hoping giroud and ozil put on a show today. I think ozil will be the difference. his class should show. i'm going to go with 3-1 to arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't say must win. Its probably in theory the easiest away game but a draw would be ok.

Agree0 Disagree0

This one is our best chance of an away win yes. Not a must win but I think we do need at least a draw as minimum. 10 points is 9 times out of 10 (Man city were very unlucky that time with getting 10 and only being 3rd) is enough to go through so 3 wins and draw. A win tonight will ease a bit of pressure off our home games.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think if we get 6 points off of Marseille it makes the other games a lot easier. Imo if we fail to win tonight were relying on winning all our home games and the emirates is hardly a fortress these days.

Agree0 Disagree0

I totally agree laker, the rest imo this defo is a must win! Tbh I think Dortmund and napoli will be thinking exactly the same when playing OM too!
I must also add 10 points normally gets u through however with this group being very tuff I feel 11-13 maybe needed! Or u could all cancel each other out and 8-9 mite be enough for 2nd!
Gd luck tonite lads

Is it just me or would anyone else like to see cesc back at arsenal again? I know this is crazy because ozil is arguably better than cesc but I would love to see him in an arsenal jersey again.
Thoughts?
P.S I'm new :)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Pre Ozil signing - absolutely 100 percent yes. But now that we have Ozil there isn't the space for him I'm afraid. There's only a few players better than cesc at what he does, and we've got one of them.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we will sign him at the start of next year.

Just my opinion

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Sep 2013 12:12:02
Welcome to the site and with Ozil here the £34 million it would cost to get Cesc would be better spent on some world class elsewhere in the team. Much as I love Cesc.

Don't if I'm honest think he'll ever leave Barca. He was never going to step down to United.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't see us getting him at all.

He's not needed now, a central defender and a striker are a must at the moment. I'm hoping for gundogan/Lars bender and I'm not sure about the defender.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we need a midfielder I should have added.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think a lot of people underestimate cesc. he is still world class and the heir to xavi. cesc also is much stronger on the ball and his vision is astonishing, much like Ozil

Ozil has a different arsenal at his disposal. Ozil is a no10, while cesc was always a no4. deep lying midfielder like xabi alonso, modric. but cesc can play a variety of position from ACM(like he did for us), CM, CDM, even a False 9.

Ozil can play either wings and ACM. so two different types of players, with similar vision in terms of creativity.

Ozil's stats stand out as most of his assists went to ronaldo who banged them in. but looking at the assist chart, with messi, Xavi, Juan mata and cesc, shows that the other players are of similar class.

Also cesc in the assist charts to be top 5, and have more assists than mata, coming off the bench for the past two years at barcelona is in itself astonishing.

i would take him back, play alongside ramsey. but I think like ronaldo, he is not coming back to Arsenal, but rather the future of barca, and I wish him all the best. would hate to see him at utd. let's hope he stays there.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol stoner, love the step down to united comment, so if he was to re-sign for u wot would u claim that is?

Agree0 Disagree0

With you on this one Lakerville. Cesc and Ozil aare both good enough to become even better alongside similar class. Cesc is a fantastic player all round the park and would love to see him back.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we could always find room for Cesc. He could play the Arteta role if needed or we could have Cazorla, Cesc and Ozil as our attacking midfielders (that would be frigthening and better than Barca IMO).

I'm not sure how far our interest goes into papadopoulos, but if we do buy him as a CB, we would have depth and competition for the defensive position.

Corchia, is another player we need to buy as cover and competition with Jenkinson for the RB position.

in terms of the CDM position, the only players who would improve us drastically, are players like Lars bender or Ilkay Gundogan, if neither is available then concentrate on improving other positions.

on the wing, I think the addition of Ben Arfa would go along way to improving that position. It would enable us to have poldi or walcott cover for giroud and give us more of an attacking outlet. Think of it as Arjen Robben Lite.

I really don't see any available striker who could make us better than we are, without costing the world.

Benzema is firing again, falcao, cavani would cost the earth, van persie is a traitor, rooney for me is too old and probably another season beyond this one to last with his large unathletic body.

anyway I know its cpl night for us, just looking at our squad, and was looking at a sensible way of adding to our squad and surrounding ozil, and taking a step further. just my thoughts.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think from reading what Arsene has said about his 3 centre backs and Sagns, that and what Sagna himself has said about moving to CB on the Arsenal site I'm not sure how much Arsene is looking into buying a CB.

I mean if it wasn't for Flamini would he have gone back and got Lars Bender.

I'm sure Arsene has it mapped out where he's looking to buy but finding that out would be a minor miracle.

I for one certainly think that Bender and a quality CB are two places we need to fill with younger better talent than Sagna and Flamini, no disrespect to them but they can only be short term.

Striker wise I'm not sure how Arsene see's that because someone like Hernandez from United would fit and much to 1404's disgust Saurez still would. Rooney is just playing for a way out now, just not sure to who. Not us, hopefully.

January will be an interesting window for us with a new mind set from Arsene.

Agree0 Disagree0

Benteke for the striker?

Agree0 Disagree0

Stoner, I get your trend of thought on the CB and the CDM position, and as you have stated, Sagna and flamini are not long term options.

To build a team around Ozil means we either buy quality players between the ages of 20-24 or slightly over from 25-27.

Arteta will be 32 before the season ends, rosicky will be 33 in october, sagna will be 31 before the season ends.

Kos, Verm, Mert are in their prime years, and to utilize a pairing which has been together as long as they have, is useful to win trophies. Giroud himself is entering his prime years. while cazorla and poldi will be 29 soon, they are still prime players.

not to forget we have the likes of Ox, walcott, ramsey, wilshere, gnabry, ryo, some of them have made the step up while some are still at the phase where they have to compete with 1st teamers.

alot of people are really crazy about benteke, and I understand he is a amazing goalscorer, but is he a technical one, that will perform in the champions league? to me he is not as clinical or create a piece of magic on his own to win a game like the traitor we had, and the likes of falcao, cavani, ibra, suarez, ronaldo, messi and so on and so forth.

The best striker who could be available is Lewandowski. and he is already bayern bound.

lets wait it out I guess

Theo Chant when he scores
Set to the tune of Geno by Dexy's Midnight Runners

Theo! (X8)

Saxophone sound: Du DuDuDu Daa Du the Du the (X4)

Back in business for the greatest club
Oh-Oh-Oh Theo-o!

I thought it would be too long to add another verse so I cut straight to the "Oh-Oh-Oh Theo-o!" rather than just "Oh Theo!"

Thoughts? I welcome any changes to the lyrics
