Surely a few teams could say that? Liverpool's form has been superb, look how many goals they have scored, if you are going to score 100 + goals the odds are in your favour to win it . You are most likely to score more than you concede.
Every season a team goes through a dodgy patch, some get over it quicker than others, we didn't and suffered very and I mean very heavy defeats, defeats that were mentally very difficult to overcome

I think what Usg is saying is that we had the resources, infrastructure and players in place to really go for it this year and we totally screwed the pooch with both transfer windows.
Had we bought a class cm (strootman?) A couple of decentforward players (Suarez for 55m or hig for 35, Aubemeyang or even Bony or Remy for 10) I think we would be there.
As good as Ozil is, we did not NEED a creative midfielder. We needed pace and dynamism and it was obvious to everyone to see, and easily rectifyable. That need was ignored and we are left with what we have
Guys when will some of you get it in your heads Wenger will never do any real business in January, he hates that window, he believes all the true quality players are in the CL, can't argue that and clubs just inflate prices especially when a club like ours is sniffing around, AW will never look in Jan for players, no matter how bad the injury list is looking. and ours wasn't great
To be fair banbury the summer window was the damaging window, i'd have happily taken say draxler and left him out for champions league.
i mean every year we draw a team that is off this planet football wise, I appreciate getting in the champs league but our current squad can't compete on 4 fronts, we need a ruthless cull from the very top for this to change

my biggest problem this season has been the attitude of a few players looking beat before they even get on the pitch.

Yes they played 12 fewer. Bayern also took a two week vaca over Christmas in a span where we played 8 matches

I personally put it down to overplaying players when we don't necessarily need to. But then that is a question of either our squad depth not being sufficient to swap players out or Wengers lack of faith/fear in playing the other players Either way we wore Ozil, Ramsey, Gibbs, Wilshere, Koscielny, Giroud and Walcott either into the ground or bought them back from fairly minor injury's too early causing them to have a longer term on the sidelines than they would have.
Us G, I get what you're saying about the med team - but to paraphrase a well known arsenal blogger, you can't blame the paramedic for causing a car crash.
Ramsey was run into the ground.
Ozil was run into the ground.
Walcott was rushed into the first team, playing something stupid like 5 games in 16 days - every minute, run into the ground.
Koscielny, Wilshere likewise.
Arteta has lost his legs at 31, not an old age, because he's playee every minute he's been available for 3 years.
It's no wonder it's our key players that are crocked.

It's not cocky to say "they didn't win we lost it" it's embarrassingly arrogant to say that.
It has nothing to do with the medical staff being trash! It's a simple reason that we didn't have the squad because Wenger didn't strengthen it in the summer or January. It's as simple as that. Only 1 person to blame and as much as I want him to succeed that person is Wenger.
I also disagree with your point. We had a full squad vs. Chelsea, Man City, L'Pool, and we didn't just lose, we were completely embarrassed by all three teams. The squad lacks composure. Yes, we need to strengthen in the summer, but Wenger's claims of a strong mentality are sh*t andso is our medical team.
Nothing to do with a poor medical team. Arsene over plays players to cover for the lack of quality squad depth and rushes them back for the same reason. If he spent some money then we won't be in this predicament every year.
If we want to move forward, Arsene has to go because it's sure as that he won't move forward.

QUESTION:
Since 2005 we have participated in 4 finals but came away beaten on each occasion (champs league, carling cup ×2 & 1 FA Cup -this year) yet qualified for Champs League in each of those league season, so looking back, would you have now rather we won all those 4 finals in place of a Champs League spot for each of those failed seasons?
ANSWERS:
A) Cups
B) Champ Spots
I would have to go with A), because atleast then we would have only missed out 3 champs league seasons (remember winning 06 final would have put us straight back in as holders). So we would have 4 trophies and 3 non champs league seasons and Arsene would have had 11 trophies in 17 years (remarkable) and won every single trophy available including Champs League and League Cup.
Yep trophies is what I would go for! Imo if we had won the 2005/06 champions league final we would have gone on to dominate the European game for a few years and kicked on into the new stadium.

The only one I would have wanted to win more is the CL final itself. Let's be honest, we all love looking forward to the group stage draw for CL and I would hate it if I was not waiting for Arsenal's name to be coming out of the hat.
Me too the CL final is the only swap I'd make, Birmingham Portsmouth Swansea Wigan have all won a domestic cup in that period, Bayern and Barca is who we need to be emulating.
4th and FA cup is a nice consultation prize we have no choice but to be happy with this year but I do hope for much more next season.
