Yet more trouble from the stands in London, first Spurs then Chelsea now us.
The clubs involved and the football authorities need to act now before someone else does it for them.
We can't go back to the 80s.

Ban all idiots for life, throwing things is only done by people with no brains.

We are living in a different era now and it's time for football clubs and football authorities to make it clear what is no longer tolerable.
Chants that have been seen as purely banter in the past but we live in a different time now and we need to have a clear and simple to understand new fan behaviour code that everyone knows and understands.
Personally I think if something isn't acceptable in the street, work place or in any public place then it can't any longer be acceptable in a football ground.

In the great scheme of things tonight not too much of a miss. Saturday though, a new sense of urgency and focus must be shown. Still baffling why the dire xhaka and iwobi keep getting on. Saturday is very important, the league is more important to us than the carriboo cup and they eed to show it. I hope we have a few more players back.

Lose Saturday and the honeymoon will definitely be over for Richard:-)
OK tonight and Sunday weren't brilliant but we've known much much worse on a regular basis over the previous decade before Dick arrived.
We lost by 1 goal at St Mary and we've been thrashed there more than once in recent years and tonight our defence was a patch up of an already makeshift outfit, can you imagine what score line that would have produced in the past?

19 Dec 2018 23:59:39
I actually didn't think for the most part we were that bad tonight, we created chances and all the stats are in our favour, running, tackling, shooting, possession etc. But we lost, our defence is absent and we need to come back on Saturday. A lead at half time and a win is required. We have to remember, Dick is only just getting started on this project and for the most part he is still dealing with the Wenger dreggs. The traits of wenger still rear their ugly heads, i can't believe that fans can't see that, i'm sure proper ones do.

Yet another first half defeat, I know it's where you finish that matters but our first half record is horrendous.

If it isn't sorted, we can forget top four, it can't carry on.

Useless, gutless performance. Crap set up, crap tactics and not enough cover for CD.
Bring back Wenger!

Hi 62!
That was a rubbish performance and a terrible selection from the Boss from front to back.
Hopefully we learn from these mistakes and move forward. Lots of work to do but we have progressed. You know I support the Boss and live the team but the Biss has to get his decisions right more often.
What do I know - I am brainless 😂😂😂
We played brilliant my bad and the team selection was flawless 😉.

Steve - sometimes the decisions are right in front of you.
The Boss must have thought that when he remembered he left Ozil at home and Laca on the bench.

It was poor SY no question about that mate, it was the bring back Arsene bit that made me :-)
It's like your pop up toaster packing up and then longing for the days before electricity was invented :-)
Bit dramatic mate:-)

I know mate, hence my original:-) reply.
Well get there mate I'm sure of that, Dick didn't come to Arsenal simply to see our his days, he's here to progress both personally and and collectively at and with Arsenal football club.

20 Dec 2018 06:34:34
He will - I don’t disagree
I just want a bit more change and decisions that make sense. Yesterday his whole approach to the game seemed odd and his subs were ineffective. Happens on the way to a solution so I get that but I don’t like Laca on the bench and our first half performances.

20 Dec 2018 09:07:15
Mate I want to see Lacasette and Pea playing together too and ideally with Mesut behind them but I think Mesut is pretty much history as far as we are concerned, something just isn't right somewhere between Mesut and Arsenal so I'm guessing it will be ta ta in January either on loan or permanent.

20 Dec 2018 16:15:03
There are major problems to sort, Ozil, Ramsey and Welbeck for varrying degrees need a solution because none of them are doing us any favours and are impacting on our way forward. Players in the team that wenger used to allow to get away with murder and larceny and dick has too at the moment rely on, can't be outed quickly. Please people at the moment remember, all the problems that need to be rectified are not all dicks doing. But he has to try and sort them.

Terrible starting 11 - was he playing for a defeat at home?
Bloody start PEA and Laca up front with Rambo in the hole.
At least get the defence or midfield or attack right. Just 2 would be a bloody start 🙏.

Is Solskjear a Clever Appointment by Manchester United?

{Ed's Note - Shappy has posted a new article entitled, Is Solskjear a Clever Appointment by Manchester United?

Time will tell but i don't see it as a good appointment. Utd are a massive club obviously, i don't see anything that suggests ole can do a job. The egos at the club are a huge problem, i think it needed an older person, like chelski did with scolari (not specifically him) who can sort the bad boys out. I think the job is too big for him and i can't quite get my head rpund the logistics. If he gets it right, what then? If he gets it wrong, then that just make the job even harder. I am happy that utd have gone this way though, i see the sense but my worru would be the guy who employed the previous three managers and ole, is still there.

Mavropanos has been out since the summer with a groin injury, which seems rather a long time for such an injury, as I believe he didn't have surgery. I would appreciate fellow Gooners views on this long layoff.
On a different topic, I hope Mustafi and Sokratis are back tonight.

It's going to be very very difficult tonight but the bigger the game the better in my view.
What will the response be to losing our unbeaten run?
Pass this test and the atmosphere around the club will go into hyper space but fail badly and those who didn't want change will be out in full force.

Any game against the spuds is huge, but naysayers will have little to grumble about if we fail to progress in a low priority tournament. Not that I don't want to see us lift it, but its not a season breaker if we lose.

. Do I need to hide? :)

For me tonight is a bonus game, win and it will be fantastic, lose and its the league cup only. The next league game is for me more important that tonight, that is a win only for me. I doubt either will put out their absolute strongest line up, so any result could happen. I want a win but for me Burnley is more important.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Dec 2018 17:52:11
It will suddenly become very important for some if we lose two on the trot :-)
The 22 game unbeaten run included 8 low profile cup games against much weaker oppents but those who happy with Dick were also happy to include those games in the positive total and I'm pretty sure that those who aren't so pleased about Dick being around won't be slow to count tonight's game in the negative column should things not go so well.
Personally I'm with you Steve the Burnley game is bigger because it's the league position that tells the true story of your season and just close or far away you are.
