Q: What's the difference between Wayne Rooney and a Walrus?

A: One is ugly as butt, smells, weighs 500 pounds and the other is a walrus

Um ok goonerMKD, I'll be honest I'm not quite sure of your point, that's how u fish? By calling Rooney names? Is that how it works in the playground haha bless ya, I actually feel sorry for u tbh mate,I really do lol.

So just that I'm clear, u posted that awful, old, recycled joke not to get laughs but to entice me reply and take whatever u perceive in your head to be the 'bait'?

Well done? I really Lost it there for a while. U wound me up a gd'un. Sorry for the attack dags mate it as just MKD's post that wound me up lol, I didn't mean to fly off the handle. It was just his very clever way of disguising the point in to which I was ment to avoid biting.

With intelligence like that are u sure ure not a spurs fan?

Once upon a time Chris was a Gooner and a regular supporter on this page - then the accident happened and he suffered a serious blow to the head. Ever since that fateful day he keeps wandering back here out of habit, without knowing why or what purpose and so he just ends up rambling incoherently due to his confusion. So yeah, let's all be nice and stop picking on his obsession and obvious lack of wit. It coulda happened to any one of us.

A Manchester United fan dies on match day and goes to heaven in his Manchester United shirt. He knocks on the old pearly gates and out walks St. Peter in a Arsenal scarf-

"Hello mate, " says St. Peter, "I'm sorry, no Manchester United fans in heaven. "
"What? " Exclaims the man, astonished.
"You heard, no Manchester United fans. "
"But, but, but, I've been a good man, " replies the Manchester United supporter.
"Oh really, " says St. Peter. "What have you done, then? "
"Well, " said the guy, "Three weeks before I died, I gave 10 pounds to the starving children in Africa. "
"Oh, " says St. Peter. "Anything else? "
"Well, two weeks before I died I also gave 10 pounds to the homeless. "
"Hmmm. Anything else? "
"Yeah. A week before I died I gave 10 pounds to the Albanian orphans. "
"Okay, " said St. Peter, "You wait here a minute while I have a word with the governor. "
Ten minutes pass before St. Peter returns. He looks the bloke in the eye and says, "I've had a word with God and he agrees with me. Here's your thirty quid back, now screw off. "

best make that 40mil and £1, Liverpool wouldn't expect less from us when bidding for thier top striker

Believable0 Unbelievable0

19 Nov 2014 12:24:37
Haha nice one :) Although you say 'top' striker, I didn't realise they had any others?

That transfer embargo still frustrates me. Not just because we had just given up on the Higuain deal which we had repeatedly been told was all but done - but also because Liverpool later admitted that we did infact activate a clause in Suarez's contract with that extra pound so he should have been able to enter discussions with us.

Atleast that is how I understand it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why bother yourself with dilemmas about suarez, who was going to bite his way to barca anyway?

im glad we didn't sign him. Sanchez would have been the perfect suarez replacement for liverpool and he signed for us, and for less money if reports are to be believed.

this season is already a wash. FA cup would be a target now.

lets hope we can get top 4, build on our summer signings, CDM and CB and move one step further.

we can only improve with the quality that we have, although its been frustrating i'm sure there should be some silver lining.

Agree with Lakes,

I think if we would have signed Mr Nibbles (G62, I still laugh at that), he would have only used us as a stepping stone via Barca.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree lads I never wanted Nibbles in the first place, its the sum we bid I was laughing about.
This was ment to be a reply to the Sturridge post below but so unlike me I messed up :-) a first time for everything they say but I've never herd of the saying 10001st time for everything :-(

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not frustrated that we didn't sign him, just that even Liverpool are laughing at us when it comes to transfer negotiations. I mentioned the same summer we were heavily linked with Higuain. I'm frustrated that we repeatedly continue to lose out in the last minute, although I think it is only such a concern when it comes to the 'big' high priced players who we have only recently started competing for against the other 'top' clubs.

Today I saw a headline which was something along the lines of 'Arsenal to miss out on yet another target' (from a BS source but that's not the point) so it's not just us Arsenal fans being pessimistic and seeing an issue that isn't really there but everyone can see a pattern each transfer window.

For the record, I am pro-Wenger but just fancied a rant about our lack of success when it comes to luring big names in the transfer window.

Agree0 Disagree0

I won't argue with our tactics.

i do not believe players are worth as much as they are going for.

ozil should have been 20 million cheaper.

di maria for close to 60 mill? really?

i would only look at chelsea to see how they have spent wisely. nothing over 32 million makes sense.

while I know we paid more than that for sanchez and ozil, I still stand by the fact that inflating the market by silly teams should not force our hand.

liverpool overpaid for quite a few and not for the first time.

man utd surprisingly have done so, but perhaps it was in response to the lack of champions league.

man city did ok, and chelsea did the best.

so while we got welbeck, chambers, sanchez and ospina, for what we paid I think we did well.

its selling arteta, le coq, flamini, cazorla, poldi where we failed. that would have helped up buy a CDM and CB instead of stocking up on forward options which are failing at the moment, and relying only on sanchez to sav us.

Agree0 Disagree0

I totally agree the transfer market is well over inflated and some OK players are moving for silly millions that are hard to understand the mangers thinking ie Lallana 26 was it?
But in relation to Garreth Bale's 80 odd milion the Mesut Ozil we signed was a bargain at half that price, not the player he has become but the one who arrived I mean of course he was an unbelievable bargain at 42 mil

Some of the recent dealings our just straight up ridiculous, Liverpool, Barca and Man U have been right mugged off with some of their signings.

Lallana - £25m
Lovren - £20m
Markovic - £20m
Shaw - £32m
Ben Davies - £15m
Di Maria - £62.7m
Lukaku - £28m
Ander Herrera - £31m
Falcoa - £20m (For 1 seasons loan)
Chambers - £16m (a 19yr old with little 1st team action)
David Luiz - £50m
Mata - £37.5m
Immobile - £26.5m
Vermaelen - £15m (still yet to play for Barca)
Jeremy Mathieu - £18m (for an average, 30 yr old defender)
Alberto Moreno - £16m
Fellani - £26m
Ross Mcormack - £11m (a championship striker!)
Kostas Mitroglou - £15m
Remy Cabella - £15m
James Rodriguez - £70m (based on one good world cup)
Neymar - Somewhere between £65m - £80m

I could name so many more aswell. What has happened to football?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - at the moment DG £42.5 for ozil looks like one of the biggest muggings of recent times..

A massive week ahead people, two wins and hopes will be renewed and our sesson reignited especially if accompanied by two good performance's.
Two draws and its as we were really, with opinions and feelings changing little either way

Beat utd and draw with Dortmund wouldn't do optoism any harm either but defeat in either would be absolutely terrible and in both totally unthinkable and totally unacceptable.
Its time to man up for everyone Arsene and Evey player and show real Passion pride and total commitment to each other the club and mostd deffinately the fans in two games that could change everything for the better

Believable0 Unbelievable0

19 Nov 2014 19:02:21
Anything less than 2 wins and I will be truly disappointed mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

It would make a massive change to people's optimism levels Dags, yes there'd be those who would say this isn't the utd of old and Dortmund were through already and struggling in their league but none the less it would be two wins against big name's and give everyone a much needed tonic.
All we have to do now is actually do it :-)

Well we are going to need a replacement for Diaby, at least the Liverpool fans get to see more of Balotelli or will it be Lambert or maybe Borini, that's what you call being spoilt for choice. ;-)
