Slightly premature (stop it) , but I'm very excited about Elneny.

Not exactly the 'big' signing we all crave, but he looks a very exciting prospect.

DM who is comfortable going forward, can shoot, tackle and has a very good range of passing.

Could be a top top signing.

Not a DM dags more a deep lying play maker lol. Seems to be the way many teams go tho. Could be worse though we could have Ryan mason or Joe allen.

He's not a rush out and get the shirt signing but give him a chance says i, and if after 10 minutes of seeing him in action he's not Sanchez or Ozil quality WENGER OUT :-)

From what little I have seen of him, I would prefer Elneny to Arteta and Flamini, both of whom must depart this summer, a season too late in my opinion for both of them. I would sign an additional defensive midfield player in the current window, if possible. One of the reasons our 1998 double winning team and the 2004 invincibles were so successful was the Shield that Virira and Petit, Vieira and Gilberto gave the back four.

I'd take capoue over arteta flamini. Both were done ages ago. At least we are moving in right direction.

No one will have a clue what he's like till he puts the shirt on and goes out to battle in the EPL yes the video montage of elneny looks good but there supposed to ain't they, unless anyone watches the Swiss league week in week out you can hardly come to conclusions that he more of a deep lying playmaker lol, or are those DM, s who have a good passing range? Anyway the scouts have obviously had a good look and the price fits in to out budget so let's just see!

Doc and Jenny eloped together Ed, jenny came back for a while last summer but couldn't live without the Doc and returned to him to start their own little tribe of bushwhacker gooners.

Adebayor is one the the biggest wastes iv ever seen in football. He came with a bad rep. Left with one and carries it on.

If he came here and gave his all I'd take him on his day hel kill any defender in the league
He won't though he's already retired in my view waster. Spurs look very happy now he's gone.

Sligo mate, that was a very bad shout, you just sumed him up lazy and waste of space, as for talent he'd got none, way passed it anyway. As for remy dags I once thought he could be the new henry and I Was mistaken and he has as good chance as getting austin mate. I think we need a striker who is not afraid to take on two defenders. I know some might have an issue with higuain but I think he would be immense in our attack.

I'm confused.
There's supposed to be a problem re Elneny getting a work permit. He has approx. 40 caps for Egypt, but they are 57th in current FIFA rankings, with only the top 50 and EU countries fulfilling the current qualification requirements.
On the other hand it is reported tonight that Grujic has joined Liverpool from Red Star Belgrade of Serbia and received a permit. Yet he has no caps for his country, which are currently 56th in the FIFAS rankings and Serbia are not in the EU at present.
Can anyone explain?

{Ed002's Note - Firstly you cannot compare the two directly. The rules have changed to a points based system and the wages being paid come in to play. Liverpool are significantly over paying Grujic - Arsenal will need to put a case together that shows Elneny meets the criteria. I would not expect any issue at all.}

The work permit rule has always amazed me. Footballers come in and get paid well. They don't claim benefits and we get a lot of tax from them

The deal will go through though anyway.
