I have been responding to some of the adverts on this site.

Can anyone see us signing a 2nd attacking player, if we sign Sanchez? (Fingers, arms, legs and toes crossed!) Even though they play similar positions, I'd love Di Maria. Sanchez can definitely play centrally and a front 3 of Di Maria, Alexis and Theo, in front of Ozil

Can you really see Wenger splashing the cash on Sanchez AND Di Maria?

plus a GK and holding mid and a RB. I just think people would accept Remy providing we get a big signing like Sanchez OR Di Maria.

Guys, if we fail to get Di Maria, Sanchez etc, how would you feel if we put in a cheeky bid for Valbuena? That boy can play football and don't think he would be as expensive as the other three

I also liked that Algerian striker called Slemani. Has bucket loads of pace. If he was cheap, I would buy him simply for his pace. Boateng and Per were no match for him and Neuer had to play sweeper for most of the game :)

Alright then lads, is it just me who thinks we should try to sign suarez? Yeah he's a complete nutjob but so is ballotelli, I i know Ide rather have upfront. The bloke is world class, about time we signed a rivals top player aswell. Who knows maybe wenger is thinking what I'm thinking! Stranger things have happened lol

I would sign him in a heartbeat! (Maybe that's why I will never be a professional coach :) ).

Do not forget that we used to have a very clinical and prolific but ever injured striker in Van Persie. I remember one season he played only 7 games. If Suarez can play 30 games per season and score 25, I would be very happy with that! Even with more than 8 games out, he would still at least double at least what Giroud scores for us!

Besides, I am pretty sure Arsene Wenger will probably exorcise the vampire in him and bring him back to being human. Van Helsing or Blade would have to be part of the technical team to make sure he behaves :)

Apart from the obvious problem bite-boy has, I'm not sure if he understands the word 'loyal'.

Apart from those 2 problems, would love him at Arsenal.

1404 you are spot on, JT and Dags you have to remember AW won't sign anymore than 3 or 4 players ( that is on his high side ) we already have 2, so it doesn't leave many more options, Mr Wenger will not spend more than £50,000,000 but that is after he has pocketed some dosh after sales .

Dags me old mate I am just realistic, some of you fail to remember the misery of last years transfer window .

I think we will sign 4 players and the fact that we didn't sign Cesc makes me more confident that we will have a good transfer window
We are focusing on signing the players we need and not signing for any other reason . Out of all the deals done so far I can't remember any player that we need moving ( Costa IMO wouldn't fit in to our style of play ) yeah we haven't signed anyone yet but I do think we will sign the right players to help is much on and challenge for the title

Banbury I know you and other guys are stuck in this money thing and Arsene's inability to spend it but I look at it like this.

The press will say anything, twist anything, add anything and generally be a group of low life pond dwellers when it comes to Arsene.

Now to me SK said to Arsene, we plan to build a Stadium to enable us to compete year in year out with the big clubs of Europe and the EPL.

To do this you have to penny pinch whilst we pay for this, we'll reach a point, around 2013/2014 when we can loosen the purse strings and you can then buy big.

Arsene says ok I'm up for that and here we are nearly 12 months and a £42 million player already in the bank later with even more money to spend.

So for me ok if the likes of Cazorla, Vermaelen and Podolski want to leave cool but they are players we should keep and be recycling over the next few years but for now let the Parks, Bendtners and Myiachi's leave and just add that top quality.

I have every faith he will do this, he has absolutely no reason not to and I cannot believe that he won't spend big, there will be players available and they will come. TRUST ME, I know I'm not a proper welder but I know. OK. :-)

Banbury Gooner, did you not get enough hugs as a child? You seem awfully pessimistic!

Just sit back and enjoy (or not!) the next few months and support the team regardless of who we buy (or don't buy)

I hear what you are saying and to a certain, in fact, large extent, I fear you could be correct.

The whole world, and his dog, can see we need at least 5 players.

A GK and a RB, purely to replace Fabianski and Sagna, so that is just a replacement and not strengthening.

We need a solid DM (Schneiderlin please) and an out and out striker (Remy please) and also somebody like Alexis Sanchez.

These are not luxury signings, these are essential signings, ones that might keep us in touch with the Man City's and Chelsea's of this world.

So everyone's getting a bit tetchy (myself included) about the transfer window being officially open for 16hrs and still no marquee signings!

However, I think Wenger won't be revealing any for at least a week. Players who are linked to us; Sanchez, Vidal, Aurier etc. Have only just gone out of the World Cup a few days or a week ago. Most players will then go on holiday for at least a week. Therefore, nothing will be done until they're back.

Couple that with players like Rodriguez, Greizmann, etc still being in the tournament.

However, I would just like to say that I for one agree with Jens earlier positivity. I can see two big players coming in for at least £25m each coupled with a Schneiderlin and a Remy for £10m or so. Throw in the outstanding Mexican GK Ochoa for free and everyone's having a good time.

The puma launch is July 10th. Live in hope that one or more players will be announced as the start of a new era begins.

Something I forgot to add to my last post - although it makes sense to keep calm and let the club work the deals out in their dark and mysterious ways, I'd just like to point out that this "it's only July/August" attitude really starts to wear thin when you consider just how fast time passes by. We been through this transfer hell for years now and had our emotions toyed with time and time again.

A humble request to the Eds and posters out there - if you have news, any news, let us know ASAP.

despite the fabulous world cup underway, lord knows that we could use some fresh faces to brighten up our days.

Campbell should replace Sanogo as the 3rd choice striker. Sanogo could be doing with a loan, or 20.

Depends what type of striker comes in/

Joel likes to play wide, so does A. Sanchez.

Sanogo is cover for Giroud has he is as "Target man".
